A number of folks have discussed potential food safety issues with today's video. Here's the fix:
While pasturizing eggs is a good way to prevent salmonella in cookie dough, raw flour can also make you sick! It can contain E. Coli and was a big problem last year here in Canada with multiple recalls. It is recommended that you always cook flour before eating.
Babish no! the eggs is not the problem with cookie dough as most of them come pre pasteurized anyway. Its the flour. The flour can make you sick because it can contain e coli in it. You gotta pre-bake the flour to make edible cookie dough.
Just uh... have to ask, /u/OliverBabish... did you try freezing that cookie dough and eating it like ice cream? Asking for a friend.

PSA:
Pasteurize flour by baking it at 350F for 10 minutes BEFORE USE in raw cookie dough recipes.
Random factoid:
Sous Vide's can be put to great use during development of C-41, E6, or ECN2 color films for analog (film) photography. Since these are designed to be dialed in to specific temperature ranges, they can keep your chemistry bath precise allowing for you to achieve consistent results.
