Sony PlayStation PS1 - 4K Emulation Guide - RetroArch PGXP

welcome to retro crisis and in today's video i'm going to show you how you can significantly improve the visual appearance of your playstation 1 games [Music] the first step is to open up retro arch you want to go to the main menu then you want to go to online updater you go to core downloader scroll all the way down until you get to sony playstation and then you want to download sony playstation beetle psxhw the next step is to open up your playstation 1 game so go to your playstation 1 game press enter and then go to reset core association and then go to set core association make sure you choose sony playstation beetle psx hw and now you can run the game as soon as you run the game you want to press f1 to go to the sub menu first step is to go down to options and then we want to go down to video the first setting i'm going to change is to increase the internal gpu resolution now by how much you can increase depends entirely on your hardware so you may want to just kind of increase it by one level test it and then if your hardware can handle it maybe try increasing it by another level so as my computer has fairly reasonable specs it's not top of the range but it's okay i'm gonna bump up the internal resolution right up to 16 which is the max the next step is we want to disable the dithering pattern so currently it sits at internal resolution but we want to switch it off entirely so we want to go back up a menu and then we want to go to pgxp which is precision geometry transform pipeline we want to go to pgxp operation mode and turn that to memory only now there are some more settings here but depending on your hardware it's definitely worth having a play around with some of these but just to begin with let's just stick to memory only so now that i've changed these three settings i'm gonna go back to the game and show you a demonstration of what it looks like [Music] do [Music] so [Music] do [Music] as you can see there's a very clear improvement in the visual appearance of the game so remember the three settings we want to change are we want to increase the internal resolution we want to disable dithering and we want to enable pgxp i hope this video was useful if it was please do consider subscribing this has been retro crisis thank you for watching [Music] [Music] [Music] you
