Sonne Farms Machinery Tour

[Music] hey today is kind of a special video we're just going over the tractors that we have on our farm I have rained again last night and so there's not much going on today no field work and so I just thought I'd take this opportunity to show you what we have there's been a lot of people asking for this video I didn't want to make this video to show off I just wanted to answer some questions and talk about each one of our tractors and what they're used for on our farm so we're gonna be starting from our smallest tractor up to our biggest tractor and our first one is the 61 25 are in this tractor is almost always hooked up to the feed wagon we use this every day because the cows gotta eat everyday and so I've only seen it unhooked a couple of times when we're just doing maintenance and one time we headed up to the box scraper but it's a nice tractor it's 125 horse and it gets the job done I got it stuck only once so that's pretty nice it has front wheel assist which helps a lot during the wet season when we're trying to get into our calving field to feed our cows after that we have our 75 20 this is a tractor that gets used for a couple Aude jobs and it gets used on a lot during the summer when we're hanging and doing stuff like that it's a hundred and fifty horse tractor right now you can see it's got the Bale spear on most of the time it always has this Bale spear on because we use it when we're hanging like I said it does other odd jobs like it runs the augur this is it's basically the only tractor that we have run the auger during the year it's also used when we're raking I usually just yesterday raking and then it moves basically all of our bales that's why we always keep that Bale spear on it this is actually my favorite tractor the reason for that is it's it seems pretty agile it's got a pretty light loader on it and so it it moves really quick and it's pretty easy to drive it's pretty simple so going on down list the tractors up next is our 73 30 personally I only have about eight hours in this tractor and it really only has one job and that's to run this moco here it's really only doing work during the summer but it does a good job it's another 150 horse just like the 75 20 I don't run it very much because well my uncle he does most of the cutting and my dad does a little bit of it and I just cut 180 acre field last year but it's another really nice tractor it it has really low hours even though we've had it for quite a bit of years but but when you just does one job which is during the summer it doesn't get too many hours on it up next is our loader tractor it's a 60 155 R so it has 155 horse and this also gets used every day when we're feeding it moves a lot of bales there in the summer and during the winter and we're grinding hay and whatnot and it does a few other odd jobs around the farm like box scraping and when we're when we start hauling manure out it's what loads is a manure spreader because it's got a bucket also I forgot to mention that that 7520 over there we have an extra bucket sitting out back and so if this tractor ever goes down or for some reason we ever need another bucket running another tractor with a loader run we can put the bucket on that 75 20 and we can use that so that was our fourth largest tractor up next we have our fifth largest tractor and it's our 75 30 this is my dad's favorite tractor and it does a lot it's working about year round my recent video was about me fertilizing and that's what this tractor does it fertilizes it used to be hooked up to this planter before we got the next tractor but we'll talk about that later it does a lot of odd jobs around the farm one of them is running the Bale processor we use that during the winter months to help put down bedding and spread bedding and another thing it runs is the manure spreader it's nice because this tractor has duals on it and sometimes we need a lot of traction when we're pulling that big heavy manner if you watch my most recent video you can see this tractor bailing this tractor does all our bailing we've recently purchased a 30-foot drill and that job is gonna be taken up by this seventy five thirty and so it'll be used even more I have forgot to mention that it also does all of our rolling when we start planting beans and so yeah we put a lot hours on this tractor every year so our six biggest tractor is the 72 15 are and this tractor has two maybe three main jobs biggest job is planting and it's almost always hooked up to our 16 row center fill planter in addition to that you may be seen it running grain cart which is its second main job and it it hauls all of our grain in the grain cart every every harvest season it's possible that you've seen this tractor doing a little bit of tillage it's been hooked up to our 24 foot disc but we haven't had it hooked up to that disc ever since we got this big tractor up next which brings us to the 92 30 which is our biggest tractor this 92 30 is a 325 horse tractor we recently got it tuned and so that gives it another 30 horse which helps us pull this 34 foot VT case 330 it it's primarily a tillage tractor and fact that's all we've you ever used it for it pulls our 34 foot field cultivator a 34-foot VT and our 24 foot disc it's possible in the coming years that we'll get a bigger grain cart and we'll have to put it on here if the 7215 can't handle it but the 7215 does really well with our current grain cart and we don't need to put a bigger tractor on it and waste more fuel so now I'm walking into the shed here's our new drill which will be run by that 75 30 here's our fertilizer spreader which is also run by the 75 30 the baler which is run by the 75 30 but the real reason I walked in here was to talk about our 97 70 STS which is our combine we have one combine it obviously does all of our combining beans and corn it's a nice combine nothing went wrong with it last harvest season and we're not planning on replacing it anytime soon because it does a really good job and it it starts right up every time and it gets the job done so that's been our seven tractors in our combine we have two semis but you've probably seen some video of this Bobcat run a few times but that's the majority of our equipment around the yard I hope you've enjoyed this video a lot of people like I said we're asking for this
