My go-to example of this technique.
I feel like this is another situation where the audience didn't really get how complicated the things he was doing were, like people who watch jugglers in complete silence..
Thought he was going to use one of those pedals to loop bits and then add layers with it. Nope... that's not what he did at all!
This takes me back to the early 90s when I first heard of Michael Hedges, whom I would almost consider the Godfather of this style. All Hail Michael Hedges. Aerial Boundaries was a breakthrough in the 80s, and his style blew me away. Died tragically young in '95, and I only wish I had the chance to see him live. YouTube does a nice job of making that as close to a reality as possible.
If you have a chance, I highly recommend listening to Hedges' album, Taproot. If for nothing else, his setting of the E.E. Cummings poem, I Carry Your Heart (with Graham Nash and David Crosby singing background harmonies) is worth every moment of your time. That album was a fantastic soundtrack to my study hours in college. It just fit so nicely into the background, allowing me to focus and relax. I hope it leaves you with as good a feeling as it did me.
(Honorable mentions of others in this style, and beyond, would be Preston Reed and Tommy Emmanuel).
welp, he nailed more than Rob scallon ahaha with just 2 hands :) (almost 90% of the song)
As a guitar player it disgusts me how he can do this
;)
The dude even includes Bass Face
