welcome back to CAD CAM tutorial today we are going to design an assemble a simple motorcycle shock absorber I hope you liked it please subscribe our channel for more video and more projects in SolidWorks so let's see how to do in SolidWorks it is very easy shaaka let us make the first part of shock-absorber base choose top plane a sketch and draw here a circle and keep the diameter 45 mm okay and extrude it up to 3 mm we wanted 3 mm thickness okay now select the top face is sketch and draw here a small circle and let us keep the diameter 10 mm okay and extrude it up to 70 mm long okay now select the back surface sketch and row here is one more circle keep the diameter 24 mm okay and extrude it up to 28 mm only see here okay select fill it keep read is 6 mm and select this edge okay now select front plane is sketch normal now here we want to make some trim if you want to trim here something first I will draw a center line exit now choose a line start from here exit select mirror or better trim entities entering this half portion choose mirror and select this four lines and mirror about centerline okay now let us define the gap select 15mm and let us make the height 20 mm okay and this width no knit anything okay now select extrude it cut select here through all both direction so it will cut in both direction okay now see select this face is sketch normal and let's make a hole here first draw a center line exit select circle and here draw a circle make the diameter 8mm okay and select X to red card select through all okay see the hole is created now here we want to make some extra extruded face so let us select write plane sketch normal select circle and find out the origin point and draw a circle let us keep the diameter 18 mm you okay now here select extruded boss cancel select this mid midline convert entities now this also converted now select extruded boss keep midplane select the width to 25mm okay see now choose say part number edit normal we forget to define some dimension select 10mm exit now that is perfect now this is the base go to appearance and we want to assign polished aluminum actually this should be polished alloy steel select this phase keep black okay now let us save the first part go to desktop and select here one folder and choose the name shock-absorber the first part base let us make the name now let us make the next part top top rod so choose your top plane sketch and row here circle with 24mm - okay and extrude it up to 108 point 93 mm okay now choose Filat keep 6mm and select of top edge okay select front plane sketch normal first draw a center line exit choose your corner rectangle define the length 20 mm okay select mirror entity and select this rectangle and mirror about centerline choose a smart dimension and make the center gap 2015 mm okay and select extruded cut select here through all both direction so it will cut in both direction see select this phase is sketch first draw a center line select circle and draw a circle with this line make diameter 8mm and the distance from top line keep 10mm select extruded cut select here through all okay now again choose right plain sketch normal and draw here a circle just find out the midpoint 18 mm okay and select extruded boss keep mid plane select 25 mm okay now edit this is sketch select this inside circle go to sketch and select convert entities exit see the hole is created now let us select this face is sketch normal and row here a bigger circle let us keep diameter 27 mm and select extruded boss reverse direction 80 point 93 mm okay see here now let want to create a thread here so select this face is sketch select this outer phase outer edge convert entity go to feature and select helix and spiral keep height and pitch height we need 50 mm and pitch only 3 m 3 mm reverse direction 0 degree clockwise okay now select write plain sketch normal select line and draw on triangle here select - mm - mm okay draw on centerline exit now select this center point of this tangent and select this part piers okay make sixty degree okay now simply exit from the sketch go to feature and select your swift cut command see here profile selected just select the path see it is going to cut the thread select here okay now see the threads are created choose fillit point 75 mm select one second age okay sometime it's taking more time due to calculation now this finish now select this back surface is sketch and let us make a hole here so draw a circle with 10 mm diameter and select extruded cut and make the depth 75 mm inside okay is going to hang maybe my system is slow system always will be slow when you will do the some jobs related to thread select chamfer 4mm and select this age okay you now is finish now let us define the material we will prefer aluminum high-gloss polished aluminum select this face and we want to make some plastic color a kind of plastic coating that's it this cut out also we prefer plastic okay now this is the top face now save this part part number two top rod save let's see the next part now the next part we will make a spring so choose your front plain sketch select a line and draw a vertical horizontal line vertical lined in downward Direction select the dimension 99.9 mm and select it I have deleted we just want to make a particular length after measuring just delete the length exit from the sketch again choose front plane sketch circle and here draw a circle let us make the distance 15 mm diameter 7.2 mm select endpoint of line and center point of circle horizontal relation exit from the sketch go to feature and select soup to go space select this line go to option select here twist along path choose turns select here six number C you can see six number of turns here select okay see select top plane sketch normal and draw a bigger circle than this line okay select extruded cut select reverse direction okay see here it is cut from this top face now here we want to make one more plane choose plane select this face select this point delete this edge and choose delete it or let us try top plane plane select this midpoint okay this better okay select this plane a sketch normal draw a circle keep bigger circle than this circle select extruded cut it is going downward direction okay okay now hide the plane now first we will assign the material metal polished steel and in top phase we will coat it with plastic so go to medium gloves plastic that's it see this is this spring now save it part number three spring let's make the last part not choose top plane is sketch draw here two circles keep outer diameter 20 52 mm and 24 mm okay and select extruded boss keep thickness 9mm okay select this face sketch draw a quite bigger circle than this inner circle 29 mm okay select inner circle and choose convert entity okay select extruded boss and make the height only 1 mm okay now select this face sketch normal draw a vertical horizontal centerline select circle select outer circle convert entities choose line exit just mirror this line again centerline okay choose trim entity okay select the radius 2mm angle 60 mm and let's define the distance from Center Point keep 20 mm okay choose trim entity and select this in outside lines okay now choose here circular pattern we want 12 number of patterns first select the pattern and make here 12 numbers now you can see it here okay now let us go to feature select extruded cut keep here through all okay now she's become a gear shape choose front plane sketch select a line start from this point and connect with this again this point exit select this upper line horizontal now let us define the angle keep angle 15 degree okay select centerline and row 1 vertical centerline go to feature and select revolve occurred see here the centerline selected as axis okay see we cut a taper shape now we want to cut thread inside so we will cut thread with the help of top rod so we will bring the top rod here how just see just go to insert and choose your part and select this top rod open now see the top rod is coming here muster check check this phase locate part with move and copy feature select ok it's may take more time okay now we will make some relation select this face and this face choose this now select distance 2030 because this thread portion should be inside so just shift downward Direction sorry my computer is running very slow so it takes time you again it is not sufficient so I now see is already shifted now select ok now we will do one thing we will subtract this part from this nut so the thread will be cut inside let's see how to do in insert feature and here select combined tool select here subtract main body this nut is our main body and the part which we want to subtract select here bodies to combine select this part and simply select ok now you can see the body will be subtract from nut or top rod will be subject from nut see you can see the thread remaining inside now hide this all planes see so this is the our thread we will assign the material steel and top cover top face we will coat with plastic let's save this part part number four not now let's make this final assembly of shock-absorber choose new assembly okay this is the assembly window of SolidWorks let's browse our first part you can large icon I prefer top rod first okay just add just our screen now browse the next part base I will make some relation met select this inside hole and this rod coincident relation okay just simply take out okay browse the next part nut okay now select this face met and select this face shall echo centric relation okay now take it out go to mechanical met choose spring not gear is crew we want to make some screw relation select here show temporary axis this is the axis of rod and just find out the axis of select this face outer face make revolution per mm 1 1 mm select ok ok now see it is rotating we will see easily just add one more part browse the last part is spring again now do one thing just select this part open this window and here select this one part show see the length which we can see visible here select this length is sketch select this face make relation coincident see this is in the center position okay now select this face and this face see it is touched with here it is coincident with this okay now you can see is going to move upward direction select this phase and this phase coincident relation okay okay now hide this all axis temporary axis now even you can hide this line also now this is the our motor bicycle motor motorcycle is free shock absorber this is the adjustable nut if you will drag it is you can adjust according to our requirement and this is the spring and this will be up and down so this is the simple a shock absorber model this is not real but this is the model of shock absorber I hope you liked it please subscribe our channel for more video and more projects
