welcome back to Carrigan tutorial today we are going to make knurling screw how to make knurling in is any screw head so let's see choose top plane sketch and we will draw geometry here now I start to draw a bolt here and connect it here now exit now through the smart dimension define the length 28 mm 17 mm six seven define also 6mm 6.5 mm 0.5 mm and this also 0.5 mm and this height five point five mm keep four mmm now select this line inside line and select this line make equal okay select this length 3 mm select revolver boss/base juiciest select ok now select front plain now we want to create a thread here so choose front plane sketch normal and choose the geometry for thread exit now select this both the plane and make equal assignees smart dimension 0.6 mm okay choose Filat 0.1 mm and select this corner yes okay choose smart dimension from here to top 0.5 mm this is better to center line and draw on center line from here to origin find exit now select this point and select this point click join see it is coincide now exit from the sketch select this face is sketch and select here convert entities now we want to convert this circle or you can draw it's simple go to feature curves choose helix and spiral we want to create some thread thread boundary or a thread path constant pitch keep 1 mm choose reverse and revolution keep 13 mm angle 90 degree select counterclockwise choose okay now select soup cut soup cut select first this geometry and choose the path see the paths going to select choose okay now our bolt is ready you can choose prospect to play now select fill eight select point five and select this age okay now cancel it now select this back surface a sketch select here convert entities it is converted now exit again choose this surface edit I sketch select normal now choose three points enter rectangle first draw a one horizontal line now select three points enter rock exit now just made this point now select this point and select this circle coincident now exit now select this circle this sketch go to feature choose helix and spiral we want to create some pitch select 30 0.25 mm keep zero Degree this is 0 degree counterclockwise select ok now select sweep cut now choose this profile and select this path select ok now see it is cut now this is we are going to create knurling in this face now again choose this surface sketch normal again choose centerline and draw up to here exit choose three point Center rectangle the same draw a rectangle from here exit now drag this point and meet this circle select this point choose circle coincident select okay this point not met with this point select this line little drag outer okay this better now exit now again choose this surface sketch select circle and draw one circle here from origin point up to this circle exit now exit exit from the sketch and go to feature select helix and spiral now again we want to create some cutouts some paths so choose 30 pitch to 0.5 and this time angle keep 180 degree you want to create from another side direction keep clockwise okay now select zip cut choose this cut out and select this as a path see select okay now two paths we created now we will create knurling so just select circular pattern select these two cutouts swift cut two and three select this surface and make twenty numbers we want 20 number of cutouts select okay it will take few seconds see our knurling is ready so this is the way of creating knurling in SolidWorks choose Stamper select point 5mm and select both the ends okay now let's assign some material go to appearance choose metal select the whole body and assign polish distill si si see this is the finish of metal I hope you enjoyed this tutorial don't forget to share and like our video thanks for watching you
