Snook & Tarpon Fishing In HIDDEN Mangrove Canals

[Music] [Music] all right guys so what I'm going to be using today I'm switching it up for salt water I've only ever done this one time and I lost a snook but I'm using a bait caster just to make it a little more fun and I'm throwing a 3in RNR slide bait and yeah just going down this little Canal you throw a little swimbait on the bait caster set up with 30 lb liter hopefully you can catch some fish all right guys so walking up to the first spot there's a bunch of garbage on the ground there's some some Berkeley gulp stuff so people have OB obviously fished here there a bag of chips and some more lure packages on the ground and this area is pretty cleared out to be honest this water is like way clearer than normal oh just got hit again oh little snook oh my gosh dude there are so many small fish I see Tarpon rolling down there a bunch of them three of them just rolled I mean they're just grabbing the tail on this thing like crazy never caught a snook on a bit Caster so I just hook something feels decent a little tarping I wasn't looking when he jumped I was messing with my drag fighting like a tarpon yep just pulled the hook right there well I take that back oh my gosh feel like a good fish I take that back when I said I've never caught a snook on a bit Caster cuz caught a couple snook on a bait caster just not a bass size bait caster but like my 300 Alexa I've caught some snook and stuff on my gosh something just smoked it instantly it's been cold like the past 3 or 4 days so I didn't know if this spot would like actually produce any fish but literally there's just so many small snuck in in me right now I want to launch one straight down the middle can't really get it there another tarpon my drag slipped on the hook set so much get out of those sticks that was sick look at the bait slid all the way up that was sick that's what that slide bait's meant to do so fish can't really throw the hook as much it's meant to slide up your line so they don't have any Leverage to pull the hook he going crazy come here buddy oh no did I hook him in the gills he's bleeding a little bit all right guys here's one look at him just before I put him back he's bleeding a little bit but really pretty There He Go it's a part of fishing that sucks just got to take care of the fish as much as you can and as you can see swim off shot off so hopefully he's good but yeah guys just retied I was frayed up by that Tarpon but this is a 3-in RNR slide bait I'm going to leave it in the description below you guys can order some come in a bunch of sizes colors weights it's an awesome bait all around and it's called the slide bait because slides up your line like that you have a way thicker hook if you break off on fish just the hook stays in their mouth not the whole bait because the bait's gonna fall off and in some cases I've had it to where it'll slide up to my knot and the fish will Fray me off and I'll get the bait back with no hook but I mean it's just a little hook better than losing the whole bait see if can get a snook this time that's a good fish oh now little Tarpon felt bigger when he when he ate it oh he's up in the sticks that was sick oh I pulled it he threw it that's good though I don't really want to mess with a little Tarpon although they are pretty cool I'd love to catch like a 20 pounder but anything smaller I don't know they're so fragile I hate having to mess with them that's really just why I want to snook mainly oh my gosh those are perfect size Tarpon down there like a 20 pounder there got to be a good snook oh my gosh something huge just wake down there oh they're blowing up down there and I'm getting whacked by a little snook all right I'm going to keep walking down into there there a gator slide right there actually and this is all cleared for some reason same with right there something big just spooked a big wake off those sticks see if there's a fish sitting on the outside of this I got just hit some mullet oo something just whacked it probably a little snuck that's what it felt like so muddy oh my gosh take slip and slide dude just spooked a bunch of fish another little snook just whacking away at this thing you just can't seem to eat it that's probably cuz they're too small well that thing's gone no it's not it's right here that couldn't have gone any better perfect got the bait back oh my gosh dude I'm hitting so many baby snook they're hitting it oh that's a good s that was sick oh my gosh he's fraying the crap out of me I can feel it he might break me that was sick dude okay yes I'm recording come here buddy oh he's got himself wrapped that's not good get out oh come here got him dude it's not even a slot fish but look at how he ate the bait and I mean my line is literally like frayed down to like 10 lb dude look how he ate that bait guys I mean literally down the hatch beautiful beautiful snook common snook swm baits all the way down his mouth look at it peeking out all right guys let's take a look at this nice little snook beautiful fish look at his tail you can see the swimbait hanging out of his mouth slide him back into his little home revive him a little bit there he goes on that little swimbait look at that leader I don't know if you can tell but my Leader's basically shredded that was on the bit cter too that was pretty sick on the curado DC Mike I canelli bass Rob that's actually pretty fun it's a bunch of animal tracks right here there's some fish spooking dude look at the pig tracks oh my God gosh that is sick the little raccoon Paws oh my dude that's a big pig that's a big pig foot dude look at him you can tell it's one of them because see how his each print is like right behind the other one cuz when they step they have their foot come right behind their hand when they go for another step there's a bunch of raccoon Paws right here paw prints all over I can see the raccoon prince in the water he's probably washing his hands oh I just spooked something big right there he's still there he's still there oh man that sucks dude look at this oh my gosh what an idiot whoever was casting with that so a lot of people they want to get into fishing and you know it's awesome like go for it go out an adventure but you know this is what ruins it for people right here when someone leaves a entire spool of line in a mangrove tree I can see their lure right there it's a red and white top water it's I'm not going to get it back cuz this is like 10 lb mono but I mean if a bird was just just flying right here right into the right into the mono and it's getting stuck and just done for oh God I mean it's almost like someone did that on purpose look at this wrapped around all these Mangrove plants another thing I see a lot is people who leave line when they get wrapped around Mangrove plants look at this all the way back in the water but when people people leave line around mangrove trees or like line washes up it constrains them I've literally seen little mangrove trees like this and they have like a cut in them like deep down because they have to grow around this which really sucks because over time they're going to keep growing and then they get constrained to just die off you know Mangrove plants help a lot with fish just couldn't couldn't take the time to just pull it out of the tree makes me really mad [Applause] baby snook man he is Tiny there must be a hundred of them down there just hid in this lure at that big old bait must have been hungry see you buddy oo little fish good fish nice snook that was sick a little snuck slide him up here but another little snuuy ate that 3 in I don't know what he's doing you can close your mouth what are you doing I don't know what that was it's pretty big though see if the fish are still here though what is that baby little snook yeah there's probably a million of these guys super aggressive super pretty swim there he goes oh nice Tarpon that was sick no that was sick dude he's maybe only like 5 lbs but oh man you just can't beat the jumps and I spit it but next fish that eats this I'm going to whack them just like that oh nice Snook oh man next cast get him out of those sticks that was so cool nice little guy nice little Snookie beautiful little guy I'm like underneath an electrical box right here but once again on the swimbait smoked it was ready to go that was so sick oh man I'm so far down there yep got him I stuck that one a little tiny guy hooked him right in the corner cor of the mouth second Tarpon of the day beautiful little silver fish there he goes oh I wasn't even paying attention another baby snook let's get him back quick probably Fran my leader up nope another little baby suck there he goes oh my gosh that was a really good cast no I'm in the freaking trees from the wind oh my gosh and I have a fish oh he pulled me out of the tree no way what are the chances it's a little Snook I probably would have lost my lure too yep little baby snook flip him up here beautiful little fish nice Tarpon oh my gosh I don't want to whack him cuz don't want to hurt him or anything so many big Tarpon down there I know ah just spiked me HED him right there
