Skoolie Tour: Couple Lives in a Beautiful Beachy Bus Conversion

hey Welcome to our home this is Kiki come on in we met doing music and actually we heard each other sing before we ever heard each other speak which is kind of a quite the way to break the ice yeah a crazy part of our story as we started playing gigs together and doing this for our career and our life it eventually led to us uh wanting to move onto a school bus and travel when everything shut down our gigs got cancelled and um Tik Tock was like a really big thing that was growing really quickly and we have a cover of Send Me On My Way by a rusted route people found it and made videos with it and it just kind of took off from there with that song that gave us the courage and the um Financial backing also to get the bus and hit the road and yeah take that leap and I was seeing van lifers open their back doors to this gorgeous beach view or just in cool places I showed her that and then shortly after on Facebook Marketplace we see this bus of all places the Doug and Cindy bus that they made and as soon as she walked on to it I immediately just felt like this was my home like it it just felt like it was meant for my life he worked hard and it shows too just in how incredibly well done all of this is how precise everything is they worked their butts off um and like I said we feel really really lucky that that we got it so this is exciting this is something that I couldn't not show you when I was little I had Hees and I found some I'm going to put them on I'm putting them on I'm going to show you yeah um this is way cooler than I was exped and so when you go places you know you can just you don't have to walk if you're tired you could just wheel and it's truly so fun so I had to show you welcome to Kiki first thing we did was we got in our V door and we actually ordered the wrong size so that's why there's this big wooden plank sheet we do have a Nintendo 64 which is my husband's pride and joy we like to just sit on the couch here just kick back and watch a show every now and then and a really frequent question that we get from mainly friends and family some commenters is do we both Drive the Bus and the answer is yes we do I drive it as well and I learned how to drive it in western Texas moving on over here all of our couches have storage underneath which we are so thankful for so over here you could see this is where you take all of these out we lift it up and then we just put all of our things in here which we rarely grab because it's a process up here we also have more storage um we have games some books snacks you hungry so currently we are at our first schoolie paloa ever and it's been such a blast we've met so many incredible people here guys and our bus has kind of been coined the gaming bus the other night we fit 24 people here which is nuts for a bus everyone was just jam-packed over here it looks like a little couch bench it's actually a workout area we like to stay healthy and take care of ourselves as best as we can while on the road so we have a workout bench and just um a little small range of Weights this is our kitchen um we are in love with it we love how the previous owners Doug and Cindy built it I think it really adds a different element to the bus facing forward and having it being split like this where you have the oven um and even these jars here we have coffee tea with some mints and Candy cereal some nuts and seeds we just love love love love this part we did put this oven in as well this was another thing that we did honestly not we Cody and Doug credit where credit is due a very exciting thing to show you all over here we have have our little music section we have the guitars here we have a uase as well but this little cabinet over here it's a pain to get to but we have a piano in there we have a bunch of recording equipment as well because we do record in our bus so either in our bus or at Cody's parents house in South Carolina hey Deb Alexa plays music for us too we're not the only musicians in the bus so we have all of our plates lots of food spices attention attention I have a very important announcement is that what they do with the hand like the makeup things anyways uh Maple garlic seasoning it makes everything like 10 times better it's so good we put it on everything as you can see it's like all gone oh my God those bananas looked terrible maybe play it back and just show me opening it and then just fresh bananas and go so this is our fridge this is our freezer um and these are our ice cubes which I should be careful with cuz they're shaped like hexagons this is our microwave it uses a lot of power so whenever we're off grid or anything like that it's a no no we don't use it and these are our dog butt magnets this is our shower um it has a military stop up here to conserve water which we are big fans of especially off grid over here we do have a laundry machine we can't figure it out a little bit there's like a mode on here that's like air dry but it doesn't Cod said since we're musicians we have a lot of different types of gigs so we have played anything from bars restaurants to weddings graduation parties birthday parties funerals even corporate events so we have to have uh quite a variety of outfits to wear to those gigs that um would be appropriate for the setting so we invested in these types of hangers that hold like five things at a time then you unhook it that's our closet and then of course we have these as well over here we have our bathroom we do have a compost toilet so this is our bedroom um it's a king-sized bed which we are so thankful for I sprawl out underneath the bed further back are our water tanks our bed obviously we can't walk around it so we need some places to make it feel a bit more homey in the sense of we have places to put our things like you would on a nightstand so that's really what this whole back part is up here we have a bunch of storage we just put um some like winter clothing like sweaters stuff like that swimsuits if anyone was interested in this type of thing I'd say hands down do it cuz you won't regret it and like that was a big reason why we said yes to it was we knew that we would always have a big what if if we chose not to and we knew that saying yes to it we'd have a big adventure and stories to tell so I say do it we have a really good quote and it's um just the greatest risk is no risk at all take the risk that just your heart's like happy about that you're get excited about when you hear it so for me it just it feels like more like what living is supposed to be like like this is living it does feel yeah that way so we love it and we definitely say do it do it if you were building a bus conversion I recently found that signares solar.com has the best prices on a
