Simple Homemade Macaroni Salad

[Music] hi everyone this is Stephanie Manley with copycat.com and today I want to show you how to make an easy and tasty macaroni salad macaroni salad is perfect for picnics potlucks and you know it makes a great side dish for any night of the week so we are going to begin with 4 cups of dry macaroni we're going to go ahead and cook that up in a little bit of salted water and we're going to make a dressing out of mayonnaise sugar a little bit of vinegar and some mustard we are also going to add to this a little bit of shredded cheese here just for a little extra flavor then I'm also going to add some roasted red bell peppers instead of pimento you can use pimento if you like we're going to season it up with salt and pepper also going to add some fresh celery some red onion and I'm going to grate a couple of carrots in there and I'm also going to slice in a little bit of an orange bell pepper if you have green bell peppers go ahead and use those I thought I would use this for just a little bit more color so let me show you how to go ahead and get started okay so we're going to go ahead and start making our dressing for our macaroni salad we're going to begin with some mayonnaise please be sure to go to copycat.com for the written instructions so you know exactly what to add now this is a thicker creamier dressing we're going to go ahead and add our sugar we're going to go ahead and add in our mustard and our vinegar we're just going to give this a quick little [Music] stir all right so this makes a nice dressing right here and then we're going to go ahead and start chopping up our vegetables so we're going to go ahead and chop up about three ribs of celery right [Music] here [Music] okay our pasta is cooked and we're just going to go ahead and add that into our sauce right [Music] here we're going to add our [Music] onions our bell pepper our celery we're going to go ahead and add our shredded carrots and our chopped red bell pepper we're just going to give this a nice stir and get everything all Incorporated in here you see it's a nice creamy dressing all right and next I'm going to go ahead and add in my shredded [Music] cheese then I'm going to add in about a teaspoon of salt and about a teaspoon of pepper and that's it we have made some very simple macaroni [Music] salad all right so we have just made our very easy macaroni salad so I hope you enjoy this recipe please be sure to go to copycat.com for the full instructions and written recipe thanks for watching
