Bonita Springs newspapers and magazines she also shared her alternative health methodology through her youtube channel Teresa was loved and well respected even sometimes being referred to as the Oprah Winfrey of Florida shortly after divorcing her first husband of three years Kenny cousins in 2003 Teresa met Marc Sievers the couple then got married a year later and had two children Josephine and Carmy Teresa opened a practice in Estero Florida where mark would help with managing the business Teresa was still considered the breadwinner of the house as it was her practice she was the one to bring in the business through her hard work in knowledge of alternative medicine while Mark would most times stay at home to look after the kids mark and Teresa were deeply in love and would express this through daily text messages often resulting in sexually-charged conversations they even shared an interest in the swingers life experimenting with other couples and Teresa once asked mark to sleep with another person June 2015 Teresa and Mark traveled to Connecticut with their two children for a family gathering they were there for a week when Teresa had to cut her trip short as she had work amendments back at her practice mark drove her to the airport where they said goodbye Monday June 29th 2015 Bonita Springs Florida Teresa failed to show up for work that morning which raised concerns from her employees of the practice as this was out of character for her after several attempts to contact her with no response Teresa's nurse had immediately messaged mark to ensure that she was okay mark had stated in a message to the nurse that he also had tried to contact her with no luck mark later asked one of his friends to go to the house and check up on her his friend willingly did so and when he arrived at the house he knocked on the door several times with no response he could see Teresa's valuables were left inside the house he further expressed his concerns to mark and he was given a key code to enter the house through the garage door the man was welcomed by a bloody scene teresa was found on the floor bludgeoned to death with a hammer that laid beside her the man cautious of his own safety exited the house and called 911 emergency uh a friend's house but he's out of town and I came here it's a second wife and she's been on the walk the address okay stay on they're going to talk to you on what to do next okay sir mister are you inside the residence bed no I'm not I'm standing in the driveway okay and then when you walked inside the house you said the blood was dryer what did you say yeah half the blood is dry up his wife is she's cold to bed cold okay there's a the hammer sitting next to her and you had left it didn't touch anything no I did not ran out I don't know if he left or not and and I walked and I just broke the door a lot walked in the door to get on before and there's a big bash and back of her head okay the vehicle at her house or no the vehicle is that her healthiest in the garage the garage door was closed okay new best if you left the same where you entered or did you leave the front door no no I just I touched her and I just freaked out and I walked outside okay when you ride outside did you walk out the front door did you walk back out the back door back out the garage door and I I closed the door because the dogs were okay and so the you were there because they asked you to take care of the house of that correct or when he received a call from work saying she wasn't there I don't know okay that's fine you know you see he's her office manager Oh she'd be your office manager of his business you know he's the office manager okay and we're at you right now yeah I believe he's in Connecticut and you didn't see anything else I mean other than I didn't I didn't well nothing I'm afraid for he's in the house somebody killed her okay I missed a murder right it says she passed in back of the head okay you know I I can't see her falling or anything like that long I just look that I thought my god you know she's like right right exactly and you're doing a fantastic job I'm sure they're going to have her a too bad when police began their investigation they found that oddly enough nothing was missing from the house marks high valuable gun collection as well as $40,000 in cash remained intact with no signs of any other valuables being messed with there were prime marks on one of their back doors which indicated a forced entry in Teresa's mother-in-law Bonnie claimed that she was at the house on Sunday the night before Teresa was murdered to feed the animals she stated that she found the alarm was inactive and had troubles activating it even letting mark know of the issue via text message mark thinking nothing of it simply told her not to worry about it as Teresa was going to be home the following day in an interview with police bonnie began to cry feeling as though she was at fault for the killing of her daughter-in-law as she left the house with an inactive alarm three days after the murder mark severs was a person of interest to police and was taken in for an interview mark cooperated and claimed he had nothing to do with the murder and even gave the investigators his cell phone when investigators went through marks phone they found text messages which indicated that his relationship with Teresa was beginning to crumble mark would send Teresa affectionate messages with her not responding this would leave mark confused and frustrated having him send additional messages expressing his frustration with Teresa she would even ignore a call after mark dropped her off at the airport on the night of her murder mark also wrote about how he felt the marriage was on a decline in a journal he kept in his phone police it even found signs that the couple had begun to experience financial issues an IRS form was seen in the house with a knowing amount of close to $33,000 July 6th 2015 Naples Florida family friends colleagues and patients had attended Teresa's memorial service to celebrate her successful life many of the attendees reported mark and his best friend Curtis Wainwright acting strange people said that Mark's behavior wasn't that of someone mourning the death of a beloved wife while Curtis seemed to be on edge constantly looking over his shoulder August 2015 Missouri a man by the name of Jimmie Rodgers had been going around and bragging to his friends that he was responsible for the murder of Teresa severs of course no one believed him and thought he was just delusional he would brag that he'd killed her with a hammer and was given the nickname Jimmie the hammer news of this had reached the police in Florida and soon after Jimmie the hammer Rogers was taken into custody police had found that the rental car used to travel from Missouri to Florida was also rented under Curtis Wainwright when police searched the vehicles built-in GPS location history they had discovered that the first location traveled to after they rented it was to mark in Theresa's residence in Bonita Springs Florida Curtis Wright was the second to be arrested and winning custody denied all allegations and was told that he would receive the death penalty if he were to plead not guilty he further admitted to his crimes with a chilling twist Curtis told police that the murder had been orchestrated by Marc Sievers Curtis further stated that Theresa had taken out a life insurance policy worth four million dollars Curtis and Jimmy were told that they would be paid $10,000 each once the insurance money had been received Marc was arrested however maintained his innocence claiming that he was not involved in the murder October 2019 Leigh County Florida in court Curtis Wright described in detail the gruesome events of that night Theresa was killed he stated that when she entered the house Curtis had followed her and gained her attention when accidentally kicking a dog bowl when she turned around and saw Curtis he instantly struck her in the head with a hammer Theresa fought back but was forced to the ground after she was struck several times in the head barely alive Theresa looked a curtis asking him why Curtis did not respond but went on to tell Jimmy that he had back problems and couldn't continue Jimmy the hammer gave her the final killing blows December 2019 after four hours of discussion a jury issued a verdict of guilty to all three suspects Curtis Wainwright who pleaded guilty was sentenced to 25 years in prison for second-degree murder Jimmy the hammer Rogers who pleaded not guilty was sentenced to life for second-degree murder Marc Sievers who also pleaded not guilty for first-degree murder and masterminding the death of his wife Teresa was sentenced to death [Music] Lee County Florida criminal action state of Florida versus Marc deceivers case number 15 CF 673 B verdict we the jury find as follows as to the defendant in this case count one first-degree murder the defendant is guilty of first-degree murder conspiracy the defendant is guilty of conspiracy so say we all have December 4th 2019 by the foreperson mark still denies his involvement in the murder and after he received his sentence he asked the judge if he could read something out of his notes to which the judge allowed although a jury found me guilty I'm innocent of all charges as I have maintained since the day this crime took place I love my wife Teresa and our two daughters Josie and car me with all my heart our girls tragically lost their mommy and now they're about to lose their daddy as well therefore I respectfully asked the court for life as to not compound their loss and suffering I am grateful however that the court can only determine my fate while my soul is in God's hands and God knows the truth and although I cannot feel remorse for something that I had absolutely nothing to do with I am deeply saddened and forever heartbroken to say the very least that Teresa was taken from us Teresa is my soul mate I will miss her so much and cherish our memories until we are reunited in heaven until then I will fight this wrongful conviction until I improve an innocent and set free to rejoin my family Marc Sievers the judge made a short statement following Marc's plea for a lenient sentence sir I judge people's actions I do not judge people's souls that's for someone else to do Teresa's mother left everyone with this image of her daughter she was a modern-day mother Teresa I always called her that because she was always trying to help people [Music] my bank Texas Jacob and Sarah Henderson lived together with Sarah's two daughters from prior relationships Kaylie aged seven and Kinley aged five the sisters were described as inseparable best friends they were always seen playing together and enjoying each other's company Kaley and Kenley were adored by neighbors often receiving drawings as gifts in their mailboxes other members of the community would say that Sarah and her two daughters seemed to share a happy relationship they would also describe Sarah as outgoing and happy-go-lucky while also describing the kids as playful friendly and energetic although Jacob was not the biological father of Kaylie and Kenley he cared for them as though they were his own even going as far as to calling them his daughters behind closed doors Sarah's suffered from severe bipolar disorder and struggled with her mental health often resulting in aggressive and paranoid behavior a neighbor reported that at times she would witness Sarah's verbally abusive outbursts to her daughters and even once heard a verbal altercation which she thought was between her and her husband however it was soon discovered that she was outside the house yelling at somebody on the phone police had twice been contacted to attend the house for minor complaints on one of the occasions a report was made about a suspicious vehicle being parked outside the Hendersons residence with the possibility of them being observed by an unknown person it wasn't clear who made the call however speculations were made that this was a result of Sarah's paranoia Wednesday November 1st 2017 in the early hours of the evening Sarah and Jacob both smoked marijuana together at their home Sarah had begun to act strangely throughout the rest of the evening and later that night suffered from an episode of paranoia acting erratically and claiming that people were out to get her Jacob concerned about his wife's well-being picked up the phone and called 911 while Jacob was on the phone to EMS he could be heard arguing with Sarah in regards to her current state Sarah would claim that she was okay and did not require any assistance which given the provided reactions from Jacob it was obvious that this was not the case a few minutes into the call the emergency service dispatcher lost connection with Jacob for an unknown reason the dispatcher performed a reverse trace and immediately returned the call hello no she's fine she's all right now violence no she's fine now okay come out check her out okay where is she right now if she's thinking about committing suicide [Music] yeah okay reassure that help is on the way from now on don't let her have anything to eat or drink and I'm a car sticker cost further Sarah comfortable not give her anything to eat or drink and to monitor her behavior whilst awaiting the arrival of paramedics within minutes Sarah seemed to have snapped out of her erratic behavior she insisted that she was fine it didn't require any assistance convinced that she was okay Jacob further went on to make a second call and request to cancel the emergency services dispatch to them just a second okay get that call and you are you the one that called it in originally she's fine now what was your name okay so just let me verify you want to cancel ambulance at this time although the call-out was cancelled to local police officers paid the household a visit for a welfare check and spoke to the couple they both claimed that everything had gone back to normal and with no signs of any disorderly behavior the officers decided to leave soon after Jacob put both Kaylee and kin laid asleep in the living room and he himself had gone to bed along with Sarah in the later hours of the night Jakob was startled awake by the loud clicking of a jammed pistol Sarah had pinned to his head he immediately grabbed the gun in question Sarah as to what she was doing Sarah then broke down telling Jacob that she had shot and killed her two daughters Jacob was in disbelief and went to go check on the kids when he entered the living room the heartbreaking discovery was made Kaylee and kin lay both suffering from bullet wounds to the head laid lifeless in the place where Jacob it earlier put them to sleep Jacob once again picked up his phone and called you all right and how old are the children are they in the bedroom sir in the living room and they're not breathing for you to home when she did that sir did you just get home oh you were asleep is she under the influence of any drugs or alcohol and you have the weapon now sir okay are there any other weapons in the house okay Kim does she have access to them are you keeping her from doing that okay sir we do want help on the way okay we have an ambulance ended that way as well as officers okay okay anything else you need she's not trying to leave or anything correct and she hasn't been under the influence of any type of drugs or anything she's not where the children sleep in the living room they were asleep in the living room and then she went in there and were you asleep in the bedroom was Sarah asleep in the bedroom with you and she got up quick [Laughter] no quit what is she doing should I get the gun for me what are you doing this what are you doing to me what [Music] [Music] I'm still here Jacob okay looks like their officers may be pulling up right now just an outside Jeremy roses okay well I'll let you go now okay so you can open the door okay okay bye bye when police arrived sara without question had confessed to the murders she was immediately arrested and whilst being cuffed she turned to jacob and voiced two words i'm sorry before being questioned at the police station sara was read her Miranda rights to which she waved her remorseful behavior had begun to diminish while in questioning when being asked what happened to her daughter's she calmly responded by saying I shot them and when asked why she committed the murders she simply responded because I was going crazy she had also explained her recent experience with financial difficulties were beginning to get to her Sara confessed that this was not a spontaneous act and that she planned to commit these murders two weeks before further confessing that had the gun not jammed she would have also killed her husband and then herself Sara was placed on suicide watch at the Henderson County Jail being charged with two counts of capital murder and one charge of attempted murder her bond was set at two million dollars while in custody Sara had gained an extra charge following the attack of an employee at the county jail while digging deep into her history investigators found that sara had a prior case with Child Protective Services regarding her eldest son Wyatt who lives with his biological father why it was given inadequate care while in the custody of Sara and her boyfriend at the time being put into a state of considerable or extreme vulnerability Wyatt had also been molested by Sara's then boyfriend April 27th 2018 Henderson County leading up to the trial Sara Henderson's attorney filed for a competency evaluation as he believed that she was unable to stand trial due to the state of her mental health the judge approved and Henderson's attorney hired a psychiatrist to complete an evaluation of our mental fitness and was found to be mentally unfit to stand trial the judge ordered two other psychiatrists to also complete an evaluation one of which believed her to also be incompetent however the other deemed her competent which led to the court facing a split decision sera originally pleaded not guilty for her anus acts but she was offered a plea deal by district attorney Mark Hall the deal required her to plead guilty in return for her charges of assault and attempted murder being dropped with her facing life without parole as opposed to potentially facing the death penalty the district attorney stated that his decision to offer this plea deal was due to jacob henderson and the biological father of the girls not wanting Sarah to face the death penalty July 17th 2019 Henderson County Sarah now at the age of 31 agreed to a plea deal and she was found guilty on two counts of capital murder of a person under the age of 10 years old and was sentenced to life in prison without parole in the weeks leading up to the shocking death of her two daughter Sarah was experiencing mental health decline her extreme paranoia was made obvious to neighbors when she would constantly share that she was being watched and that people were out to get her Sarah's mother stated that within those two weeks Sarah had reached out for help as she was becoming aware of her declining mental state her mother believes
