That was actually really good!
The characterization, the visual effects, the score, the production design, the wardrobe, the casting, the overall production quality... all of it was very well done. Some of the acting, dialogue, and direction was a bit sketchy, but aside from that, I really enjoyed it. Most fan films are hokey garbage, so I wasn't expecting this to be any different. But I was pleasantly surprised!
I will say, though, that the ending didn't work for me. It should've been more of a tragic ending for Severus. No hug from Lily. Just a goodbye and a "I hope you change your ways" or something like that. But up to that point, I was really into it. Thanks for sharing this!
Someone in the YouTube comment section makes a pretty good point:this is Severus telling over the story,he may have distorted what actually happened. Snape is not without his biases. I don't even know if when Harry saw Snape getting bullied by james in the pensieve that might've been biased too.
Like some other people said here, the characterization is a bit off. I always thought it was hinted that as they grew older the Marauders lay off tormenting Sirius. I assumed that meant towards their final years or so by graduation they shouldn't have still been bullying him.
That being said I loved the casting. Everyone was spot on. I was weirdly attracted to Snape lol. Also, out of all the actors I think he was the best, in terms of looking the part and acting. No one will ever beat Alan Rickman but this guy did a good job of making Snape his own. He didn't try to mimic what Rickman did.
The directing was great also. I liked how we got Snape focusing on Lily's hand taking James' and helping him up.
One thing I think this film actually did better than the originals was the wand effects. We never got any creative angles like an actor directly hexing the audience through the camera. Maybe they wanted to keep it from being too cartoony, but the most we got from the original films was like a wisp of air from the wands. It was cool to see colours and exploding lights. Also, it was really creative to use the environment around them, too. In the films, no one ever picks up a rock and hurls it at their opponent. The darts were really good too.
Gotta say that this gets my little fanboy heart pumping but I do have a few problems. I don't think the Marauders would have acted like that after graduation, and Lily definitely would not have fallen for that version of James. They wouldn't have used Dark Arts. Snape just... couldn't have taken on all four of the Marauders, let alone Sirius and James at the same time. Yah, I don't know. Just some of the characterization was off, but it was well done in production! :D

I just can't get behind Snape winning a 4 on 1 duel. It just makes the Marauders look weak, which they certainly were not.
This is really well made, I loved the casting, directing, music and special effects (like how they found their own way to show spells).
I disagree with parts of the story and characterization, too, but it didn't prevent me from enjoying this a lot. I don't think James would still have acted like that after graduation, but assuming he did, the reactions of Sirius, Remus and Peter were spot on. I don't think they would have used Fiendfyre, but it looked really, really cool. I loved the way Snape scared Peter off near the end.
Wow. I liked this. It was really well done. Can't say I liked the story much. The Marauders were a bunch of a-holes, with Potter acting like a borderline sociopath.
But the casting and the production value are definitely there. I'd love to see them act out more fan fiction.
