um obviously uh you know the mood by the music is set for uh you know we're coming up on yom kippur a very solemn time this is a very solemn time of the year on god's calendar and if you don't feel it it may be because you're not tied into his calendar too well but you really should you should feel these days at the days of war and the days of introspection um things are rapidly changing in the body of messiah i don't have to tell some of you guys that are my age um many of you have been in the faith you know from the womb um i got in the faith in 1989 when i met the lord in israel and a lot of you were faithful way before 1989 and obviously you're seeing rapid changes i live by a saying i live by a few sayings but one of the things i live by if it's new it's not true and if it's true it's not new i'm a big fan of the word of god i'm a big fan of expository preaching i'm a big fan that we don't need to add or take away from it i'm a big fan that we don't have to be relevant i believe god is relevant and i believe the word is relevant and the more we try to make it relevant the more we're changing the script i don't think god's looking to be cool i don't think i have to be cool i don't think you have to be cool got to be faithful um this is going to be a little textbookish a little bit more academic than i like but i'm just kind of just trying to follow orders um when i was young though and i went to synagogue we never called it a synagogue not in the orthodox community the reform community calls it the synagogue and synagogue is a greek term it's actually a new testament term synagogue a place of fellowship but in the orthodox community which i was part of it was called the shul we always said we're going to shul and shul this hebrew for school and my rabbi yosef safsel he was a rabbi he was a teacher and when we went to synagogue we were in school and if you look at rabbi yeshua he would always sit down and teach his students lessons he wasn't so much a preacher he wasn't just you know rah-rah let's get um and it definitely wasn't about application he was unfolding the scriptures to people um i'm just curious and i'm not if you haven't heard of this organization it doesn't mean you know you're you're in the dark but how many of you have heard of the cultural research center and how many of you know a man by the name of george bonner oh that's good he's he's part of that he is that so even though you might not have heard of the cultural research george bond is a devout devout believer who's a statistician a pollster he's so respected that the secular world will use him so his stats are about as good as they come and the cultural research center is under the auspices of arizona christian university and they conduct an annual survey so they don't have this one in for 2021 because the year isn't over but i have the results for 2020. and the survey is called the american worldview inventory and the survey estimates how many adults have a biblical worldview okay if you're a born-again believer you should think of everything in terms of the bible and the word of god everything barn is the director at the crc the cultural research center and he's the author of the american worldview inventory report um allow me to highlight a few of the findings this is going to be hard for you to believe i think but number one is the cultural research center i i you can look at their all of their findings i i didn't want to give you all their findings god didn't want to give you all their fundings you could do that on your own but number one 50 of americans that means one out of two this mic is given a lot of feedback you got to fix it 50 percent of americans believe that if a person is generally good or does good enough things during their life they will earn a place in heaven just so you know that half of america believes by doing good and that that term is so obscure what what is good how do you compare good how does anybody know if at the end of the life that good outweighs the bad i can assure you i can assure you that even as a believer at the end of your life your good does not weigh your bed i can guarantee you that your your trials will never exceed your transgressions if you don't think that that's already a dangerous position i think your mind is in number two more shocking than 50 of americans because i'm not really concerned about america i'm concerned about the body of messiah to be honest with you more shocking is that the huge proportions of people associated with churches whose official doctrine says this is their doctrine eternal salvation comes only from embracing jesus christ as savior believe so so this is crazy right they go to a church where this is their official doctrine believe that a person can qualify for heaven by being or doing good now most people think oh you're probably talking about catholics and and lukewarm lutherans no sweet pea i'm talking about 46 percent of pentecostals that's half of all tongue talking they need to stop talking in tongues and start taming their tongue and look at god's tongue and see what he's saying that's what they need to do um it includes 44 protestants okay that's methodists that's presbyterians and guess what the good old baptist 41 no more does the baptist have a corner on the market okay i know a lot of baptists think well it's them not us you know you know the old joke when when when you get up to heaven and you go to the different rooms and one room is very quiet and those are the catholic people because they seem to be very quiet and one room is rambunctious and those are the pentecostals because they like to worship loud and then you go to this other room and the guide says be very very silent why those are the baptists and they think they're the only ones up here you've got to be very careful of walking in christian pride it will get you it will get you number three the research also shows that the relevance of sin is on the wane that means wayne is on the decline i'm giving it to you as it was presented with only slightly more than half that's 56 percent 56 percent that means if you take 100 born-again believers 56 of them say they consciously and consistently attempt to avoid sinning because they know it offends god in other words 44 percent don't 44 out of 100 believers are just not conscious of their sin this should shock you and scare you and wake you up number four last one most shocking is that 44 of american christians think jesus sent i want to share with you a couple of the statistics there's a ministry called legionnaires ministry and they do this state of theology survey very similar so i didn't want you to say well maybe that's george bonner maybe it's skewed no they do a biennial survey conducted by lifeway research which is top shelf and they take the theological temperature of the united states let me give you a few of their findings for 2020. this isn't 10 years ago one almost one-third 30 percent so not 33 but almost one-third of evangelicals agree with the statement that jesus was a great teacher but he was not the son of god shocking huh but but maybe this will help you understand why we're in the condition we're in i hope that's what this is doing number two almost one in five eighteen percent so it's not twenty percent okay one and five is one but it's very close believe that the holy spirit can tell us to do something which is forbidden in the bible you know the people that said god told me to get a divorce right which god the god the lord told me which of the lord of the flies the lord of the rings not the lord of the bible number three slightly more than half 51 percent believe even the smaller sin deserves eternal damnation which means that 49 percent 49 out of 100 almost half go ah a little sin is not so bad do you see what i'm reading to you i'm not shocked by this because it's obvious to me i'm not shocked i didn't need their their survey number four almost half 46 believe everyone sins a little but most people are good by nature these are evangelicals and that god accepts the worship of all religions including christianity judaism and islam guys it doesn't matter what your church doctrine is i got news for you it matters what your doctrine is you you drive on the highway the speed limit sign says 70. how many are doing it the doctrine's not going to change you a born-again heart is going to change you this we're in an epidemic and we need a vaccine badly you need a transfusion of the word of god daily into your system number five a hundred percent agree that god created male and female praise the lord but one in five 22 percent more than one in five also believe that gender identity is a matter of choice in other words god's okay with it now my question to you is who or what is the culprit now i think some of you mean well but you think it's satan it's not satan satan can't make you do anything pal my dad just told me when i was a kid kid he called me kid i call my kids kid kid birds can fly around your head but they can't build a nest in your hair you understand what he was saying that's on you stop blaming satan the devil didn't make you do nothing you made you do it so we blame satan which is wrong for this situation we blame the evil world system the world is so terrible forget the world the world has been terrible the beginning of time cain killed his brother bashed his head open with a rock because of jealousy and jealousy is still very flagrant today nothing is new under the sun it's just getting worse but it's the same stuff sin is sin people are people and then we blame i don't know why the lgbt community it's their fault what do they have to do with these statistics or liberals you know conservatives those dang liberals no the problem is us christians did this satan didn't take prayer out of school we allowed it we laid down we got comfortable what are you going to do what time's the game start the culprit is cultural christianity and i was going to teach on this the the the conference when i go when i don't go to places like that anymore i just don't do it anymore i don't have the time really but this guy i have a relationship with for 10 years i watched him grow up as a youth pastor i love him and he said i want you to come and speak and i said what's the theme of your conference and he said cultural christianity i said i'm in but then as i interviewed people christians they didn't even know what it meant most of them never heard the term how can you ward off something if you don't know what it is that's exactly what satan wants so as i was going to this conference the lord said you need to tell your people and then i realized wow and don't don't be upset i'm not accusing you like how come you don't know what it is but this is the culprit satan's trying to keep it under the radar cultural christianity is religion that superficially identifies itself as christianity but does not truly adhere to the faith a cultural christian wears the label christian however the label has more to do with his or her family background and upbringing than personal conviction that yeshua is lord are you familiar with richard dawkins famed scientist he's if you're not he's known all over the world he's the most famous scientist and also the most famous atheist dawkins refers to himself as a cultural christian why because he admires some of the ceremonial and philanthropic aspects of christianity guys make no mistake dawkins is in no way shape or form a christian in a free nation like america and american christianity is a mess in a free nation like america the gospel is often presented as a costless addition to one's life just don't you know don't you don't have to change anything just bring them in just bring them in you know just sign off you know just sign the card and you're good to go in this way many people go through the motions of accepting jesus with no actual surrender to his lordship do you know how many times i lived here 18 years do you know how many folks i spoke to well i gave my life to the lord the day of the camp then i gave my life to the lord another time at 12 at a camp then i really gave my lord life to the lord at 14 and then but i really started walking with the lord at 30. what happened at 8 12 and 14 why why weren't you walking with the lord then he's too young to walk with the lord cultural christianity to me is an oxymoron you can't be a cultural christian just like when people say to me oh you're a born-again christian that's you're redundant if you're a christian you've got to be boring what are you saying am i a christian christian am i born again born again cultural christianity is not legitimate biblical christianity although hear me although we cannot earn salvation by sacrifice or good works you know me i believe i believe that we're saved by grace a lifestyle transformation and the desire to please the lord are essential and direct results of being born again now i want to just give you um give you a break while i get some water i want to give you some tenants of cultural christianity like i said it's going to be a little academic but i think this subject is so so important you might say rabbi i've got things going on in my life i've got so many problems that i could care less about this maybe you've got some problems because there's a little bit of cultural christianity in life maybe god's allowing those problems to wake you up just throwing that out there number one this is tenant number one cultural christianity did not they deny the inspiration of scripture where do you go from there you know how many people call themselves christians and will say well i don't really necessarily believe the word of god is inspired what the heck are you reading then they can't be reading the bible they're not bible believers if you don't believe in the word of god then then you can't be a christian it's not possible i know people that read so many books you read books way more than you read the book some may be sitting here haven't opened up their bible in years that just is that's to me it's like well i love exercise haven't done a push-up since 1985 it doesn't make any sense it's it's literally nonsensical this is what cultural christianity says this is what the bible says ii timothy 3 16 all scripture not scripture all rabbi he can't be talking about some of the gospels because they weren't written yet well they weren't written yet okay but some of the new testament was and if some of the new testament is part of all scripture then all of it is based on the canon all scriptures is god-breathed and is valuable for teaching the truth convicting of sin correcting faults and training in right living think about that people want want their truth so bad a good believer wants to be convicted so many times people say to me rabbi please don't get soft the conviction is changing my life correcting faults who doesn't want to be right of their wrongs no matter what it is in life even if it's changing a tie if you tell me hey that's not the best way to do that i want to learn and who doesn't want to be trained in right living well if you want those things it's the word of god that accomplishes those things god is saying that the very words originally given by god were god breathed now you will read some things in your bible like in ecclesiastes when solomon was jaded and when solomon's talking in ecclesiastes a lot of those things are not true they're wrong but when you read when moses wrote in the torah and god said in this quotations baby that's god breathed what they wrote down were the very words of god they had a style but they didn't change the script it is inspired and is infallible in other words god's word contains god's words if you want to know more about this i think i did like a 10-week series on can i trust my bible look it up it's on getzel it's on youtube if you don't can't find it call the office they'll help you but if you really want to do a study about god's word being infallible i did a lot of work for you have at it tenet number two cultural christianity they ignore or downplay true repentance as the first step towards knowing god they ignore or downplay ah god understands based on what are you reading what are you reading let me tell you about a couple of exiles let me tell you about all the people that lost their lives when they were judged by god this is what the bible says acts 2 38 when they said what must we do when they were cut to the heart what do we got to do they didn't know how do i get saved and shimon keith aka peter said turn from your sin return to god and each of you why do you say return to god see these are jews that were raised with the lord rabbi how do you know they were jews because it's pentecost okay so non-jews don't go to israel for pentecost in the first century you've got to understand something there wasn't a gentile in the faithful acts 10 and the word christian wasn't used to lax 11. just throwing that out there to you turn from sin return to god and each of you will be immersed on the authority of yeshua the messiah into forgiveness of your sins and you will receive the gift of the roach hakodesh if you want to connect with god the first step is repentance in matthew 4 17 when yeshua started his ministry how did he start with what words repent for the kingdom of god is at hand not near john the baptist said it's near it's coming but once the king comes it's at hand and believe it or not he started that he was almost 30 and since he was born sukkot i guarantee you he started that ministry on yom teruah which would have been 15 days before he was 30. and what a time to blow the shofar and tell people to repent but he wasn't blown the shofar yeshua was the shofar he wasn't a shofar yeshua was the shofar of god if you want to connect with god step one is repentance if you want to reconnect with god step one is repentance repentance is not confession it's not going to a confessional confession is just admitting you're wrong all confession will do is bring you to the door of repentance this is where a person admits their guilt and sides with god against themselves and then begs god to help them go in a different direction number three you got to forgive me for getting a little worked up because i can't stand people who call themselves christians and who are not 62 million people died for being a christian it disgraces their memory number three focusing on yeshua's love and acceptance to the exclusion of his teaching on hell obedience and self-sacrifice listen i wasn't around in the 50s and the 60s in the south i was up in new york so i hear people go was all fire hell and brimstone well now where is the fire hell and brimstone did it did is it not in the bible anymore there's going to be fire helen brimstone you've got to throw that in the mix i don't think you need to preach it all the time but you got to put it in there that's not something you want to leave out it's a lie it's like hiring a guy and saying oh you don't have to work many weekends and then he's working every weekend you lied that was important information for that person to make a decision let's see what the bible says matthew 23 33 do you remember this section the woes the seven woes this is what this man of love said you snakes you sons of snakes how can you escape being condemned to gehenum hell the valley of hinom is where they burned the garbage in israel can wait a minute yeshua is is incarnate love rabbi how can incarnate love speak such harsh words can't can it yes it sure can because true love must also be righteous and holy i want to give you a news flash the people that are looking to tell you the truth love you the most the people that are blowing smoke up your dress and patent you on the back they're not your friends better to be rebuked by a friend than be kissed by an enemy it takes great love and admiration and respect to speak truth especially when you're underwriting it in love the popular conception of yeshua is as a harmless inoffensive reformer capable of no emotion but love that is i don't know what bible you're reading but that is thoroughly unbiblical also let it be known that these words of condemnation were not hurled at the lost they were hurled at the pastors of their day these were the religious religious leaders who should have known better and then just in the gospels again yeshua says if your hand makes you sin it's talking about your actions cut it off obviously he's using hyperbole he's using a metaphor better that you should be maimed but obtain eternal life rather than keep both your hands and going to hell to the unquenchable fire so yeshua is teaching using hyperbole extreme exaggeration but he's saying the goal is worth any sacrifice getting into the kingdom forever is worth any sacrifice number four tolerating or even celebrating ongoing sin while claiming to know god this is hard to sit through i know sorry that listen there's plenty of churches you can go to tomorrow who will tell you everything's great you're wonderful don't worry about a thing so they're out there for you look at romans 1 32 it says they these are the people who are perpetrating these sins they know well enough god's righteous decree they know they're not ignorant they know they know that people who do such things deserve to die what such things well if you read verse 24 it's people who abuse sex sex has always been an issue it always will be people will ruin their reputation and their families for 10 minutes of pleasure absolutely ridiculous sometimes i think you just got to grow up and be a real man and be committed grow up be a real woman and be committed when a person sins all they're saying to god is i like you i just like this more mean make it simple keep all this fancy theology out of it just call it for what it is and then what else verse 26 27 talks about perversion of sex god gave man over to men it's a perversion i'm sorry i don't care about your stupid opinions i don't care nor should you care about my stupid opinion you very rarely ever hear me say well what i believe you who you don't why would you care what i believe i care you should care what i believe as much as i care what you believe i care what the word of god says and you know what whether i do it all the time what you do all the time is not an issue you can't change the word of god and then there's other sins listed in verses 29 31 let me just read these to you just in case you think well i i i'm not perverse so i'm good right rabbi okay they are filled with every kind of wickedness evil greed and vice stuffed with jealousy quarreling dishonest and ill will they are gossips he threw gossips in there he threw gossips in with homosexuals you bet your bippy he did slander slanderers haters of god they are insolent arrogant and boastful they plan evil schemes they disobey their parents they threw in little little snot-nosed kids straighten that out some of you it's a little too late but for those that isn't straighten that out straighten it out once the tree bends you can't bend it back so this is what he's saying not only do they keep doing them the things i just mentioned the aforementioned sense but they applaud others who do the same so somehow those who abuse sex pervert sex and practice those other sins that i just mentioned they have an innate knowledge because they're made in god's image they have an innate knowledge that not only these things wrong but also that they are deserving death they know it but they keep doing it and doing it until it doesn't feel so bad the first time i majorly sinned when i was like 11 or 12 because i hung out with a real bad crowd when i meet these nice um you know these nice southern gentlemen pastors who went to private school and who grew up going to church and they say rabbi why couldn't you hang around the good kids come with me to my project and show me the good kids well couldn't you stand for it at 11 you want to belong to the crowd you want to be part of the gang you want in they're your family it was my fault but ultimately it's really hard i knew it was wrong i knew if my mom and dad knew they'd be so disappointed i cried but what did i do i kept doing it until it didn't feel bad i seared my conscience they know god's verdict but they rationalize it i didn't kill anybody it's not that bad yeah you look great when you're comparing yourself to uh jeffrey dahmer and jack the ripper and charles manson you look like a saint but we weren't supposed to compare ourselves to jack the ripper we're supposed to compare ourselves to yeshua the messiah not only this but you know what they do what i did they hook up with like-minded peeps so they feel this sense of camaraderie well you know it's not so bad we're all doing it listen what's what's right isn't popular and what's popular isn't right i don't give a crap if everyone's doing it my kids would never tell me well so-and-so is doing it okay really i've never heard that from them because for obvious reasons i don't want to get into it there might be somebody from defects here look at first corinthians 5 1-2 you know the situation here listen corinth they had a lot of gifts but you know what their problem was they were so caught up in their gifts that their gifts brought them to a place that their fruits couldn't keep them gifts is starting to wane thank god when i first got in the faith it was all these gifted people on tv and all these gifted people they were so gifted right they were so gifted they were so anointed you know you just wanted to touch the hem of their garment that's that's it's not happening where are they now it's about fruits and character that's what impresses god the gifts impress you guys character impresses our father so corinth was was nuts corn zozo my was a word they used in the greek language to denote debauchery it was coined from the congregation of corinth and so paul writes and says it's being reported to me he birthed the place it says baby that there is sexual sin among you and it is sexual sin of a kind that is condemned even by the pagans a man is living with a stepmother what does that mean guy's having sex with his father's wife today there would be people that be like i mean do they get along do they like do they love each other what has happened to you have you lost your mind seriously do you hear yourself are you inside your head not going wow i lost my mind i need help and you stay proud that's his issue shouldn't you rather have felt some sadness like not condemnation but shouldn't it have broken your heart what has happened today we don't even break about it well what are you going to do it is what it is the [ __ ] statement of the year ingenious man if a doctor just said that to you well it looks like in the diet this is what it is i gotta go grab lunch shouldn't you rather have felt some sadness that would have led you to remove from your company the man who has done this thing paul what are you saying are you saying there's church discipline are you saying that i have the right to remove you this is not a public forum guy uh uh no it is a corporation with bylaws and if you're doing something to harm other people i will remove you if you don't remove the right way i'll remove you physically so it was widely known that one of the men in this fellowship was having intercourse with his stepmom now was she a believer rabbi what kind of question is that i asked you a question it's a question question was she a believer you're not gonna find it reading your bible if she was a believer why wasn't she brought forth why didn't paul make mention of her she's a non-believer we don't judge non-believers we judge our own discipline starts in the house of the lord i got no business judge in the world the reaction of the church was messed up instead of feeling awful about it they were proud does that say that now my question to you is why were they proud what were they proud of are you asking me i think they were probably proud of their tolerance today we're proud that we're tolerant with a tolerant church you know tolerances tolerance is wide thinking it's not being so narrow funny thing jesus said it's the wide thinkers that go to destruction oh you're so narrow get with the program what what what what program the world's program i need to get with that are you familiar with a theologian named erdman i'll give you a quote by him if it was intolerance i got another suggestion for you what it was oh rabbi that can't be that's that's what goes on today that didn't go on 2000 years ago guys i don't know why you think that our society is like so different than the society of corinth well i don't know why you think in africa all the believers are so much stronger than us bullcrap they got so many problems over there and they have so many charlatans over there some of the richest pastors in the world are in the poorest areas of africa maybe maybe corinth was interested in numbers more than they were interested in holiness what if we lose people what if you're a big tither i could care less first of all i don't know anybody in what they give here in 18 years i've never known so you could be somebody who gives nothing you could be somebody who gives a ton i don't know i don't care 18 years i've never taught on tithing i've never taught on finance i've never told on giving never will that's between you and god man you do the wrong thing you'll hear about it but you think i ever cared that if you give a lot and you were gonna leave what are we gonna do i don't depend on you are you out of your mind have you are you crazy you think you're gonna pull the strings here god pulls the strings here and only god not me not the elders not nobody in leadership god is the leader of beth yeshua it is called beth yeshua the house of jesus it's his house i'm just hanging out in his house because he invited me that'll be the day the word takes on flesh and goes through a horrific horrific death on my part and i'm going to let him lead erdman said quote they should have understood that the true glory of the christian church consists not in the eloquence and gifts of its great teachers but in the moral purity and exemplary lives of its members let me repeat that because i've heard people say oh my pastor is so smart good put him on jeopardy if we get some money for missions so there's nothing wrong being smart but so big deal don't be that impressed is your iq 180 not even close 160 not in your best day so you're smarter than the average person you got a little book smart whoop dee do like god's impressed by that yeshua never spoken more than three syllables he spoke to the common people the amharetz and if you're so smart why don't you make it simple so the smart people and the simple people can understand it einstein said if you can't explain something simplistically you don't really understand it he had an iq of 165. most of us if we took the iq twice and ended up we wouldn't have 165. that's because the average person is 80. that's why i said 80 and 80 is 160. using math they should have understood that the true glory of the christian church the body of messiah consists not in eloquence moses stammered he stuttered he had an impediment he said i'm a man of slow speech he had a speech impediment and there were no speech pathologists running around egypt that were looking to help him out and he passed it 3 million people in the wilderness with no food or water because this was this was pastor moshe's style well i have no idea what i'm doing so i guess i'll go to the tent of meeting meet with the one who knows what he's doing he'll give me orders and i'll follow it and then after i follow those orders when he calls me back i'll go back and then he'll tell me something else and oh rabbi that's so old school we know so much better how we doing families falling apart lives falling apart minds falling apart how's that leaning on your understanding working out for you sweetie they should have understood that the true glory of the body of messiah the christian church consists not in the eloquence and gifts of its great teachers but in the moral purity and exemplary lives of its members look i just want you to know i can use some pretty fancy words i went to college on the scholastic scholarship i did pretty well graduated top my class in college and high school i choose not to what's the point so you can be impressed by my intelligence and not get the message paul was about as brilliant as they come he was hand-picked among the jews in the world to go study under gamaliel who studied under the greatest rabbi in judaism hilal hand-picked and he said all my accolades all my intelligence i consider it dung by the way dung is first century crap same word identical number five and maybe you know what roxanne what do you think end at five and then do the other five next week yeah okay i don't want to rush those other ones because the other five are me t me t number five cultural christianity says redefining spiritual truths to accommodate culture well they they don't like that part this isn't cafeteria christianity i mean when i moved down here i couldn't believe how many cafeterias there were but it's very popular and i think it's cool you get this whole array of food and what do you do you go up unless you know the place like some of you know you you walk in the sns cafeteria blindfolded some of you i'm just saying i didn't know so what do you do what do i do i get this big tray and i take everything and then i go back and i'm like and then i go back and i take the things second round you gotta come on who goes to an oil you can eat and only eats once that's ridiculous so you go back up and what do you take the things you like it's not the way it works uh-uh it's all or nothing you don't get to go back and highlight with your little mind what you think is important it's not like god said to moses now get out your highlighter because this is the good stuff the other stuff i just told you not so important redefining spiritual truths to accommodate the gospel it's called the gospel of accommodation rabbi they'll they they might be upset you've got to be cut to your heart to repent if there's no guilt there won't be any repentance nobody's trying to make you guilty except for god i'm not saying that you should be guilty i'm not saying that any of you should be sitting here going oh i got to fix that and i got to figure maybe not i'm talking about cultural christianity not you but i'm telling you it is an epidemic in the church today an epidemic worse than covid will ever be coveted might kill you but not forever accommodate the culture rabbi they might be upset do you remember in matthew 15 when yeshua was rebuking them he says it's it's not you're about washing your hands man and he's rebuking them it's what comes out of your heart what you do do you remember the disciples because they were they didn't know him yet and they were playing both sides you ever played both sides of the of the fence you're interested in what this guy has to say but you like those people too and you don't want to offend them you don't want to offend people then get out of the kingdom by the nature of being a believer you're offensive you're saying there's one way to the father that is so crazy offensive when i was secular oh my god try to tell me that it's offensive so the disciples came to him they didn't know he was the son of god they know he's the messiah yet they didn't have that figured out so when matthew 16. remember when peter made the profession 16. so 15 nope and they walk up to him they go sure um i don't know if you realize this you know we really like you and everything but you kind of offended the pharisees and he went wait till wait till matthew 23. wait till i call them snakes and tell them their fathers were snakes that's why they're snakes and his attitude didn't get him killed his devotion to his father got him killed nobody took his life including your sins pal don't give yourself that much credit he laid it down totally obediently willingly period [Applause] this is what the bible says in the book of numbers in the torah quote god is not a human who lies or is mortal who changes his mind i love that about god you know we all are so finicky and we you know we're here one day and there another day and we're going to do this and then do this and we're all over the place i love that god never changes his mind love that consistency it gives me such security when he says something yeah he's not the parent who goes one two what do you what do you what are you is this sesame street what do you keep counting for they understand how to count the three why do you even have to count to three why do you have to count to three it should be one done one and done when he says something by golly he will do it and when he makes a promise he will absolutely fulfill it he will never ever bounce a check now you might be leaning on some promises god made to you how do you know it was him who made it to you you ever think of that well god promised me 10 years ago did he i'll tell you what he's made a lot of promises you might want to read the ones in here these you could depend on the promise you heard in your sleep that might not have been him it might have been you going to bed with wishful thinking and then your subconscious was thinking about it stick with the script man stop messing around three times you know what happens when god speaks in threes three is his number it's holy it's perfect it's it's divine when he speaks in threes three times he spoke about this deuteronomy 4 2 we don't have it up you can check when you go home deuteronomy 4 2 deuteronomy 12 32 and revelation 22 18. let me just read you revelation 22 18. this is the end there's no other scripture after this this is it he says i warn everyone hearing the words of the prophecy of this book and you might say well rabbi that only relates to the book of revelation no the book of revelation is woven into all the other scriptures it relates to the word of god how do people like knit well that's only the book of revelation it's like why do you keep trying to get it out that if anyone adds to them if anyone adds to the word of god changes it in any way then god will add to him the plagues written in the book be careful when you say god said because if he didn't say it you're adding to what he said and then he says this is going to be tough on some of the evangelicals and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy god will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city as described in this book meaning you're not going to heaven you're not going to have eternal life the bible condemns any tampering with it i remember the first time when i was young i don't know how i saw this i guess i was changing the bed for my mom that one time i haven't done it since right burn and i saw a tag on the mattress under federal law you could be arrested for moving the tag i'm like so of course i removed it i just want to see if a cop was going to break in you know like you stand outside okay come with me but it seems so serious about a tag on a mattress a tag on a mattress how serious do you think it is messing with god's words be very careful when you change the script it is incredibly dangerous don't add to it don't take away from it what is so hard about sticking to it why is this not enough for you what are you looking for what what do you want imagine if we didn't have it just picture we don't have it you don't have anything in it you don't how do we know about salvation how do we know how to pray how do we know how to conduct ourselves the book of proverbs for instance is the most incredible piece of literature ever written in the history of literature on how to conduct oneself every subject in life and every from running your business to spanking your child everything is in there 3 000 years old and it's timeless incredible wisdom listen it's it's one thing to say you stand on the bible but my suggestion is get off of it and open it up and read it and let it infiltrate you i know there's no way i adhere to every principle in here all the time no no no chances off i'm driving to the airport and you know i-75 it's now the busiest highway in america there's always a crazy jam on it no matter what midnight sometimes i get home from the airport and there's traffic so if you're in the car with me right now and i'm going to be late for the plane i'm not going to sound very fruitful so i don't want you to misunderstand i don't want you if you're here for the first time going who does he think he is does he i think that i'm just one person who's actually sitting here somebody's got to mouth the words who's hearing everything and struggles with everything i said but by golly i'm gonna do my best i'm gonna give it my best effort in all my short failings and all my short fallings and and and and and the guy who's speaking at the conference and you could have all the accolades you want i've got one accolade i got a god who gave his life for me and by golly i'm going to try to give mine to him let's stand together and all roxanne is thinking oh great i don't have to do any more slides for next saturday since i got to do the slides for young kippa yeah it's been a whirlwind you know we had a we have to put these things together you can't put them together a day before it takes a lot of time so we had yom teruah we had shabbat then we have shabbat again then we have yom kippur thursday you know and then i've got these five messages in in in covington and then coming back for sukkot money it just is a whirlwind but i'm just going to keep it simple and i'm going to try to enjoy the feasts you know because the message is the same man the message is the same just remember you're celebrating the feasts especially when you um are coming into the movement and sometimes sadly enough the identity of judaism and messianic judaism there's a fine line between your identity and your idolatry it's so fine that a lot of times you you go over the line and i see it i see sometimes gentiles go oh this is so wonderful judaism you're messianic jews you're not jewish messes keep messiah first and high and lift it up okay and just know this my wife has a beautiful engagement ring um i tried not to buy a ring when we're getting engaged do you remember what i said to you because i went downtown to a friend of mine on 47th street jewish guy that i knew and he was a diamond dealer and i was like twelve thousand dollars for that little thing so i came back i didn't buy it i came back and i said look you need a car she goes i can't wear a car and i said yeah but you can't drive a ring i said i'll take the ring i'll take the ring she said she'll take it and that's what she did show my car and actually my car too but that's another story yeah the 300 zx yeah oh that's the later one you had an accident with the other one too oh good all right so so we wanted to get a certain setting for the ring so we got a tiffany setting that would raise up this beautiful diamond i just want you to know something the feasts are the setting yeshua is the rock now may the lord bless you and keep you may the lord make his face to shine upon and be gracious unto you and may the lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you his peace in the name of the principle of peace yeshua ivarakiharan [Music] [Music] foreign screw me up there fred god bless you have a good shabbat
