Senjero Nordhavn 68 - Brisbane to Hamilton Island

okay taking some Jarrow the 68 North Haven up to Hamilton Island I got bit of a northerly at the moment which is an ideal then we get a big southerly tomorrow but then the rest of the week looks good so we're doing it over seven days so we'll see how we go that's the mindset one of the benefits of a Lord having 68 is you don't have to watch the weather quite as closely together quite the time they're 10 to the 21 across the wire here does find a few challenges you'll see here the chain section in the clay line I'll talk about it further - we've got that coupled with a tire drove off the back all designed to slow it down and stop it broaching [Music] so after a relatively calm essence through the knife normally had dropped out we came around double island point and approached the wide [Music] so we're actually crossing the wire boat here got down to about two and a half meters under us that was a an hour after low water you can see there virtually no brake waiting to go through the sheridan flats we just need another hour of water good luck we're on our way to get some days come as a southerly Buster straight we go for lunch for us nothing but nothing but the best medical shows your finger there oh yeah watch it well the southerly Xin as you can see got 35 knots on the gauge it's raining and I'm about to go in and pick up the owner's son at your angin who's flying up should be an interesting round that wasn't as bad as expected the rain eased off very impressed with this Boston Whaler all right day two of the passage we've just left moon point and Fraser and we're on our way up to a pancake Creek [Music] one of the joys and driving around at eight and a half knots is great speed way to Sydney we actually Frankie gentlemen white boy again any gang gets busted head right Anchorage in a southeaster pancake Creek bucked in here behind my head maka room and you think rocks on one side and Sam Bank on the other but over all right now [Music] so long day today we got away from pancake Creek very early a little bit more wind than expected as well probably 20 knots face made our way up to Port Clinton see the cloud for Clinton squad that's the basic drogue setup and we thought we'd go have a little explore Boston Whaler it's becoming a ritual clean water yeah so a bit easier start this morning right away sunrise making our way from Port Clinton to Percy Island we're running the fuel system at the moment is filtering it into a de tank and you can see there the levels down we probably get five hours runtime with a tank but it gives a good opportunity to go in and just check the engine room over as well works well having come just lost to have gun how can I respect those goods so fast [Music] so there's a party on shore they've killed the gate party unsure they shot a goat yesterday yeah and there's cooking it up what poetry from was he just I can always stop over Percy Islands when you're traveling north some must I reckon the a-frame on the beach is full of plaques and memorabilia from passing buddies and my old man's been doing for some forty four years I think there's plenty of our parks in there third down it says South Pacific say you need a singe arrow thing you have to make something and bring us some jet 74 that's my grandfather Benina that'll be great Santos 38 years of 2012 it's been every year since [Music] garfish right across to the infrared [Music] it's magnificent morning everyone it's day five of the passage from Brisbane to the Whitsundays Greggy watching our lures doesn't get any better so whenever you're towing and approaching advantage need to shorten up a towline obviously and get that chain aboard and also called the drogon going and fouling this case coral kwame's as we approach that again right pictures of all days with it good anchor work night [Music] all right Tom this morning on the reef let's go fishing we can't even get a second lure happen okay on again for hookup yeah long time get your photo that one Spanish mackerel make children a long time old in about ten minutes Charlie Mac oh that's what we years we didn't have to wait ten minutes hey three cheers for the boys yeah ask Phyllis Romana fish-food ready because we're having a couple of nights and swear wreath we thought we'd throw all the toys in and give everything a good run absolutely beautiful I come down here walk down the line well we had a great snorkel but the bottom fishing was pretty ordinary just a few shots hanging around but it was a great venue for an afternoon drink rather massive all right jet ski time get her out of the water so it's pretty rough feeding a big GT waiting for the Sun to come up a bit more before we leave square r-e head into white hey it's mine auntie likes a both pilots so far then pointed out three planes two helicopter it's bouncy a boat [Music] this would be like the smell of the Caracara say all that the smell the great feature of this but it is the anchor Locker credible amount of space so after a nice swim and lunch at Whitehaven we made our way around to Hamilton Island while you in it while they sleep time and I going for a quick fish if I go to the airport [Music] five fantastic that's a long time you first cast into some long time could be Big Mac - yeah you got others like yeah just pulled the whole there are not straighten that it's this they're up there let's go you after missing a few more Turner we thought we'd gone hook it feels immature humming some motion you're like I just training I'm not sure that's a very wise thing to do given the recent shark attacks [Music] we [Music]
