we caught a money mule scammer in the act right at his front door we've teamed up with scammer payback on youtube to investigate and confront the thieves mules and masterminds behind the vicious and despicable scams infesting our phones and our wallets together we're taking scam baiting to a whole new level by tracking down and confronting these themes face to face and exposing their web of lies to the entire world this is trilogy media and you're watching scammed the refund scam it starts with a phone call from a company claiming to owe you money for your expired computer security services they remote connect to your computer to process your fake refund and then manipulate the web page of the victims online banking to make them think that they've been refunded but accidentally at a much higher amount than they intended in this case five thousand dollars they then convinced the victim that they have to send that money back urgently or the technician will lose their job this scammer is expecting the payment in cash mailed to a home address in beautiful dana point california addressed to a norris chen while our brother pierogi from scammer payback was in town live streaming from trilogy media headquarters he baited the scammer all the way up to the finish line and set us up for one of the most intense busts yet all that's left to do now is mail a package with no money of course and supply the scammer with a tracking number so they think they're in for a big payday and then show up in person to see who is there to receive it as with all public videos on our channel it is five thousand dollars a month are you kidding me that's it i'm going to vegas you have to go down to the bank and get the cash of that total amount i will go ahead and give you an address okay you would just need to go ahead and post that test on to that address honey and i i appreciate that there's people like you out there that are trying to protect people like me okay all right mom i'll be speaking to you tomorrow bye oh my god it's bright all right so we got another package don't know who's gonna be at the other end like we typically have to deal with but this fine money mule is gonna be out of california which is nice because we're in california yes we are wow universe is talking to us um they gave us the name of dana dana point dana poina pontena poinco i was watching the majority of your stream when you were doing that yesterday good night by the way thank you dana point five thousand dollars got a package gamer didn't ask anything about how i knew how to wrap it in aluminum foil or anything like that he just wanted the package five thousand dollars so what we've got here is it looks like a kind of a corner lot a part it says apartment you know did it give you an apartment number no apartment number which is kind of creepy because these are they're they're supposed to be apartments so it looks like a duplex or something you've got like multiple little rooms and things like that and searching the name that's the first thing i do as soon as i get the name because a lot of the scammers give us the wrong name his name is norris chin so as far as social media so i found this linkedin and you can see that he's a you know four year college student in california yeah so i looked him up on facebook as well and we found a lot of the same matching uh so this is him as well it looks a little bit younger maybe but he has same glasses and it's supposed to be kind of an apartment complex on the corner definitely visibility definitely this building that's a big building yeah like and on the side here there's like at least two garage doors and what's over here is that more garage doors on the other side yeah on this side too so if you go up here there's at least four units in this building and you've got packages four different delivery it look it probably come this other side the other side yeah because it doesn't look like there's a residential entrance on that side but it's either gonna be upstairs or downstairs loop around we'll park down the street we'll do the same kind of thing you go first we'll need to get a box tomorrow you go first with the box i'll follow behind you with an extra camera and grizz can just kind of they probably won't even care what it is as long as they get that they see there's a tracking number yeah that's what we're going to send them we'll supply them with the tracking number and uh question does the scammer have the tracking number that's a great question not yet yeah we can certainly call them right now if you want let's do it hey i'm looking for daniel daniel i have the tracking number um it's supposed to be there the package the 5000 supposed to be there by 10 30 in the morning if you could there's one general footpath entrance either here or on the driveway yeah um we'll either have to go upstairs and just ask around same thing i'm going to be i'll pretend to be around by the corner you'll have to go with your box and uh grizz can just be nearby and see what they know what happens scenario yeah all right guys update i have sent the tracking number over so he's like freaking out of course calling me texting me i need information what they're trying to do is they're trying to actually um they're trying to rewrap the package which we kind of thought that they're going to anyway so he's been literally texting me all morning now he's resorting to i love you so baby please i love you so much they were trying to do this with the last guy right yeah yeah so like i said look i'm driving to san diego i can't i can't pull over they want a name after because what they're wanting is they want the name of the person that's submitted the address phone number and then they'll go to ups with all that information and then change it over to whatever their new location is they can't change it without that exactly so you can't change without it though so that's why i just gave him attractive number and he's just freaking out i've gotten 35 from the same guy yeah just this morning what we need to do right now before we leave quickly is perfect address all that stuff yeah let's go catch them do so do you want to text and say like say something like you know like you gotta update on ups and it's gonna be next five ten minutes delivery yeah yeah maybe 15 just so we can scope it out but yeah because again there is no freaking apartment unit it's a big building and we just have to knock on every single door to find this okay thank yeah you the number three four zero three four zero two it might not be that building unless it's another unit of this building that's one no that's it it's here that's it where across the street from it okay yeah because two and one cannot be on the same street yeah okay okay so it's the one with the spanish tiles right there oh so it's the whole house so it's not this building dude google santa's absolutely two different dudes so oh so uh maybe the some people maybe yesterday at some point you're leaving here you order the rba and make sure you're sitting outside this package was instructed to be delivered to this address specifically today from a scam victim named vivian rogers from a call center in india stealing money the translator translator sure yeah yeah i i don't know so this is the deal whoever you're calling though i mean yeah that's i call that my friend my friend english is so you just spoke perfectly english to me and now you're calling your friend just can you stop that crap our job here is to expose the scams i know that you're probably not the one that's ahead of this and responsible for this you can talk to us or we can report it to the police because we know exactly what's going on and you're not going to [ __ ] us we've seen this enough times i can call police like in five minutes and it's gonna be here i i don't know these people that's impossible stop i said there is a delivery for norris and you said yes and you came downstairs and i have everything in account so how many of these have you received huh how many boxes how many boxes yesterday how many how many of these no boxes you know what you look like to me you look like somebody who is very very nervous you listen to me yesterday one people coming please tell me you you order the uh rbmb living here i say yes so you did you tell me that you stopped here and he told you to pick up this package no people you can be honest with us and then we can help you so you can help us expose this stuff because this is a crime that's going on and we're trying to get to the bottom of it this doesn't have to hurt you we're not here to hurt you or do anything we're just here to get information we're not law enforcement we're not any of this we're citizen journalists trying to figure out who is stealing money from old people and sending it in boxes to people around the united states if you're going to continue to play this game then we're just going to have to run with what we got to the police if you have nothing to hide how come you keep rising your shirt up to your eyes no i'm talking about you in your face why are specifically to pick up this package and you did inside the package this package belongs to you you put your signature on it so just stop playing this game denying game what what do you where do you you can't talk to my friend do you speak english with your friend committed crime here in los angeles he just picked up a package that is full of cash yeah hello can you hear me yes so you have friends right in los angeles what happened he just signed a package full of cash and right now we have to go uh we have to call the police he's working for someone he's uh let me ask him yep give me one second okay listen uh we can avoid police if he gonna cooperate with us and he gonna tell us why she was waiting for a package that has to be delivered at 10 o'clock he was he's an airbnb waited for a package i just came bring that package he signed for that package you can translate to him yeah uh he lived in the rb and he traveled to the uh he played he traveled to the uh los angeles and uh he lived in army and he think you are the army owners come to talk to him he don't know they stop that he's doing it's illegal he's picking up packages from uh from victims for the owners you know and they delivered to the house and he helped me he helped the owner to get a parking okay what is the owner what is the name of the owner of that airbnb you guys can you guys can uh talk to the owner he has the rvip phone number you can ask the voter name and ask the owner why deliver the package to this address my friend just knew there he can show you the rv information oh he just come travel to the la you know okay so why he traveled why he traveled from uh new york to los angeles specifically to this airbnb what he's doing in l.a why he's collecting these packages i can see nothing oh from the bottom the people come here again online that it's not his package we want to know who is the owner and we want to talk to the owner the person who told him uh to get whoever came by yesterday we want to talk to that person he can give you the uh ibrb the information our information is on his phone you can see you guys can call the owner you can check so what did he say he said that the owner told him to pick up that package that's what he said no no he said uh he said yesterday one person was come to him uh the address and the license side something he's not signed you know he don't know english and today you guys maybe is your guys come to his address let him say again he thinks he's the owner you know the house owner he said oh if you can see the package he can get uh he can get a package uh outfit the owner you know maybe facing his online shopping or amazon something you know is calling you yeah i'm listening who is calling you i don't know i thought that was like the other person foreign foreign he takes the uh all information from the rb and gave you guys the phone number and the address something do you have these airbnb on your phone this is another phone you know you don't have app over here huh app aaron being airbnb app like this no i haven't listened to me you can't waste another phone and you show you the rb information is that okay yeah why do we have a your friend is in trouble and you're just covering his ass okay it's a business business owner he has nothing to do with this somebody knows someone that's staying here or the guy that's running the specifically to pick up the packages and those packages from people that got scammed from innocent people from victims so he worked for someone somebody told him somebody put in somebody put him in this airbnb somebody told him to pick up this package and somebody told him to sign this package because he signed package and he knew that i coming for this time this location with the name i asked the name he said yes he came and he signed so he is your friend is lying and we want to know why he's lying foreign hello yes okay here's what we're gonna do if this gentleman is willing to cooperate and help us find the person then we will then we will work with him and what we need to do is we need to get his uh information his his id his if he's willing to give it his id his phone number and sign a media release uh for what we're filming um so we can stay in contact with him if he's willing to do that in a second to take pictures of what he's gonna give us talk to me i know they put him there exactly he just don't he just don't want to admit he's probably most likely he said i'm calling a friend who's speaking english he calls several people male and female if he is willing to cooperate and work with our company to help us find the person who's responsible that will be the smartest decision in that way clear his name but if he's not if he's not willing to work with us we are going to be forced to leave and report all the information that we have because the information we have makes him look very guilty it's so it's up to him yeah he's trying to find like instructions rent out that unit a lot up there this one yeah it's always airbnb yeah yeah that's a common thing they uh the money is being stolen from overseas call centers but they'll have uh money mules in the states go to airbnbs and collect packages and then forward them off so uh and they're like they're like grandmothers being stolen five ten fifty thousand dollars sometimes this way that's the one we send i'm telling you it's wrapped in aluminum foil inside so then the scanner can't see what's going in oh my god that's the same name that's how pierogi was saying they have them do it yeah um i'm friends with the owner oh okay we'd love to talk to him or let him know what's going on so he knows um to him he's leaving now uh like today he told me he was staying on the weekend see he's lying back and forth because i was like he said check out time waste he said he was he just pulled his bags out because he's moving out by ten today but it went right to voicemail thanks crazy wow thank you so much and they are rerouting it just like they were doing for his yeah that's what i'm telling you that's why it was uh that's why they had it rerouted because they're going to pick it up that's why i was like can you please flag it or something yeah seriously man if only that package was left here we could have had him open it and prove cash right there we could have got him arrested but she can't release it because they [ __ ] routed it yelling and [ __ ] at me not to get that package he was about to get the package and then i heard him like screaming and yelling and then he changed his mind no no this is not my bag this is insane oh dude man i just feel like such a dummy for believing him i know i did too i thought his girlfriend was coming back from the beach ask him where his girlfriend is dude this is just unraveling right in front of our eyes i [ __ ] believe this guy too i wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt because the names don't match fully even though the last names do which is very suspect this very kind gentleman who's the neighbor has been trying to help us out he said his friend told him to call the police okay and he said the police is going to get him a translator they're coming now no he said that's what he's going to do yo it doesn't yeah he's checking out today checking out today yeah copy that brother appreciate that man thank you so much uh i i called the please help me okay can we uh can we uh we actually hello we work for a company called trilogy media inc uh we're citizen journalists and we are following following uh and tracking scams that are going on all over the place and we have found someone we have the evidence of money laundering of mail fraud uh and this gentleman is uh we're trying to communicate to him what we're here to do but he's either not understanding us or he's refusing to acknowledge it but so he was looking for assistance uh to get some translation um thomas oh yes if i can clarify uh so the package that was delivered as male fraud he signed for even though he's claiming it's not him the the paper we are trying to explain to him okay so what are you needing from the sheriff's department he called you we didn't call you um so i'm i'm just trying to get your own wedding service for somebody no we don't have 9-1-1 well he called so i'm just i'm just trying to fill in and help explain what's going on we're just here to talk to him and ask him questions uh and he's having a hard time understanding and he called you guys for whatever reason he called you also immediate release that's what we've been trying to tell him but he doesn't understand what we're saying so yeah just wasting your time you got everything yeah how [ __ ] frustrated is this what are you supposed to do yeah that's why all these people overseas who doing this who find out all these loops how to go like against the system and they're doing this every single day we're seriously here asking questions that's all we are doing yeah and that's all we can do so have a happy ending and some don't you know notice how his uh his ability to speak english to gradually decrease the entire thing and when it's time to talk when he needs to talk he couldn't even say a word he was making full sentences when we first walked up he can't i can't make him sign something he doesn't understand uh i can't we can't force him to stay here against his will we're not police we're not investigators we're media asking questions and we did that we don't have all the answers but we have shined a light onto the roaches
