all right we have two days before winter 4x4 jamboree and this is not running yet we've spent the last couple of days doing links and steering suspension suspension stuff so the first step was to get the axles underneath and get them located where they're at and then we could figure out how long the links needed to be and where we could put the brackets for the links so once we got the back axle hung on the links then rudy started building the hoops for the suspension mount and had to cut some holes in the floor and do all that there's a lot going on in the front we got the links mounted we had to cut a little bit of the frame to get the semi-triangulated to fit yeah we got down to crunch time and we just threw some spring pockets in stock shocks are still there so we just hastily welded a terrible mounts for those they're gonna hold up we've got compromises everywhere up front the big picture is the steering box is getting moved the drag link is getting leveled but that's not the case right now so he's probably going to have terrible death wobble fenders haven't been clearance we're probably going to smash some fenders okay we're going to try to make this exhaust fit this is not the finished exhaust this is the exhaust to get us on the trail in two days there it is it clears i'm gonna do one more little thing here so that's going to go right there and then this something like that this go right here and then hang it with some baling wire and it'll be good to go okay we're gonna break that tack so so now come up over to this one nice what's the chances this is gonna snake out of here [Music] okay what about no what needs to happen [Music] so this is the emergency exhaust system it's not terrible no it's gonna be fine how's our clearance it's not rubbing all right so the next phase in operation get this barely going is to put the fuel tank right here and get it plumbed in so that it'll work so we're gonna be strapping it in fuel cell style [Applause] okay rudy put me some there to set this up [Applause] [Applause] [Music] yeah two straps on that one nowhere or or we could just fill this all up with foam push against this yeah that works too we've had so many companies that wanted to be a part of the golden nugget build allied wheels sent us these wheels for the golden nugget mild star tire sent us these tires we're going to get these mounted up get them out to pause at fab rats so that he can put him on the golden nugget so rudy went through and put blue tape on everything that's temporary so when people say how come you did such a hack job he'll say it's temporary anything with blue tape is temporary so there it is it says right on a temporary all right so we've determined that i've got to trim my bumper that was already hitting even basically at ride height and my fenders also got to go and at some point in the future a good portion of this front clip also is probably gonna have to go definitely that's okay definitely gonna have to go [Music] oh it's good weld that back on later yeah [Music] you just eyeball it that's how you do it that's how i do it [Music] so i took how clean are your clothes jamie super clean not climbing under there well i need something to hold this right here right here axle tube see this is the axle [Music] okay we're 105 and three quarters what was that number 105 and three quarters is that right over 105 and a quarter here a half inch further back on the driver's side we have drive shafts to put on next so once we get the drive lines on then we can put it to ride height and set our pinion angles front and rear and then we can finish tightening up the upper links because right now the lower links are tightened up we've got the axle centered left to right squared up front to back and now the only thing that's left to do is adjust the pinion angle yeah i'll see how it goes in the words of matt from bleep and jeep it's not a disease it's anti-seize oh but it spreads like a disease huh what do you think of this huh it's a process yeah when i'm laying on the side of the freeway just know i'm under reverse forward reverse not that far neutral ah start over this ain't gonna drive over rocks it's funny when we were on the golden nugget like when i was i was pulling up and tom tom's like keep coming keep coming keep coming all right stop there's a big rock and i'm like i don't remember seeing a big walk so i just drove he's like oh or you could park on top of it he's like i keep forgetting that you can just do that with these um i think your front opinion name is perfect yeah cause you have caster probably three degrees that's perfect look who just showed up you just glued it in huh all he's gonna do is raise this floor up i don't know how far four inches or something no and then put the fuel tank back underneath it right now the fuel in the back axle are fighting for the same the tank and then fight for the same space see oh this is even gonna connect look at that it's long enough like you planned it kaboom okay rudy i think we are ready for fire in the hole hey tackle your key a couple times i've had it [Music] all right so this needs to be strapped in yeah okay what are we doing with your shocks okay what well the 40s will fit [Music] it doesn't look bad no and that was the plan this looks like half of the toyotas and f-150s and it's perfect in hurricane right now all right so we got the bilstein coilovers in it's sitting on its own wheels we're making progress we've got only tomorrow to get this thing done got the back seat to put in seat belts seat belts okay so stick around cause it's gonna be tomorrow like that all right it's a crazy day we are on the last day that we can do anything to get ready for 4x4 jamboree look at that what we are down to on the rudicon is front brakes and seat belts seat belt and seat look at that hawaiian alignment on that spring quality work tom tom came all the way down from idaho falls to make sure that we got there on time i'm here this bar holds the seat on slightly so i had to move those a quarter inch forward oh so but you're just in time i've had to move them up and forward everything's nice jump in there that'll work yeah breakfast going in this thing's tall all right so we're worried that rudy's gonna have to answer a lot of questions like how come it's not finished how come it's ugly and the answer is because it's half done i guess we're going with all capitals yeah what up got all seamed up for tomorrow so you did it nice very nice very squared off huh nice and wow you know professionally manicured i mean i'll just put it on the rear you're gonna keep it at this gold color no what's it gonna be isn't it you guys love it what color do you think i'm gonna paint this thing when i'm done with it no no oh come on comment what you think that was the hardest thing i've done lizzy would have had that on there already you're gonna you're gonna help or are you just gonna walk okay let's testify this [Music] [Music] hmm [Music] how does the gearing feel it doesn't feel terrible yeah it has to gear down if i give it half throttle but it's it's like it's fine and it's like event uh paul with fab rats we had send it ruby holly with mischief maker showed up rory and trail mater and his buggy john and the desert spider and finally a special thanks to our partners at yankem
