Jesus [Music] #no changes rest in peace [Music] that's a good one foreign has struck the forums the reddits the Twitter sphere as yesterday as of recording this the wow token appeared on the North American Realms and on the EU Realms or World of Warcraft classic Wrath of the Lich King there was no real post there was nothing it just arrived people were very upset and it went off like a bomb an absolute bomb with the subreddit announcing that now you guys you're free to talk about private servers you can go and check other games out there yeah I I do have to reiterate there were some people that were unhappy about my opinion whenever it came to the classic wow subreddit allowing people to promote and talk about private servers I want to reiterate my opinion that uh the dislike of the wow token is not Universal there are a lot of classic wow players who don't care about the token and I think it is incredibly selfish for the mods of the subreddit who are supposed to be stewards of a community to make an autocratic you know [ __ ] uh like executive decision to sever and burn the bridge between blizzard with the entire Community I I find this to be it was very stupid and very selfish accuracy of the game is completely ruined a lot of people upset that things like the random dungeon finder which is due to arrive in uh World of Warcraft classic in a couple of concept patches has been denied because no changes and all that kind of nonsense and they want it to be in a strict formula yet the wow token is now here yeah exactly I mean there it is Blizzard burned the bridge not the Reddit mods don't get it twisted no they didn't because there's a lot of people that don't care about this like that's not even true they didn't burn the bridge there's a lot of people that don't give a [ __ ] about the wow token I would argue probably the majority of the player base doesn't give a [ __ ] about the wow token like we care about it because we are the hardcore players I mean I don't play as much anymore but I used to be and I know how people feel but [ __ ] a lot of people tell me your expectation the number to Classic community no way it's the majority of classic players yeah oh do you think well what I'm saying is that like let's say it's 20 of people don't mind the wow token let's say the overwhelming majority like 80 percent of people do you think it's a good idea to completely destroy that relationship because of uh the 80 percent I don't think so and I heard that somebody said in chat that the mod who made that post got removed is that true did you see their update on the Reddit regarding the change well let's take a look at it sorry this is like has nothing to do with what we were looking at on the video but I I want to look at this update mods have reinstated rule four well and the guy that said it is gone bro I just get so tired of being right it happens so often and so much that things are starting to get boring people can effectively buy gold and this has led to massive massive outcries because there's a lot of people who care for classic very very deeply they were chasing this dream for such a long time you might remember all those years back with meetings from all the big private servers I got to meet some of them uh events and how passionate and how much they cared about it and how much they wanted to work with blizzard of course we are famous you think you want it but you don't and obviously John height uh who I interviewed recently who's in charge of all of World of Warcraft mentions like but you did uh you actually did want this thing and we worked with it and of course some big names that blizzard have come out of the success of wow classic oh yeah Holly Longdale who is now in charge of World of Warcraft as a whole because of the great success of World of Warcraft classic and the passion she brought to it I thought she was the product manager of just classic wow but yeah she came from Everquest Classic this is this has been sort of a big money earner for blizzard a big way I did off the cuff mentions Ian has a Costas when I was talking to him is it felt to me like wow classic was kind of paying for retail like the popularity of classic was paying for retail and he said not really it's like hot you know it's close he didn't give me any specifics if it's even close that's insane because think about the amount of ways that retail was monetized that classic isn't monetized so like if retail is making like if classic is making anywhere near the amount of money that retail is that is not good for retail wow uh but it felt that way as a player with the downturn in BFA and shadowlands is the popularity that was happening in the classic and of course recently the hardcore scene has blown up to the point where blizzard is responded and we've got hardcore service coming oh we would enjoy that and hopefully we'll be running in events so stay tuned for that uh with some big giveaways for for the classic server Lots one of the big sticking points first it was released like character boost people didn't want that literal God okay I'm so good at this game getting a little frustrating and of course you've always got those players talking about the Boost who were like okay this makes me want to play now because leveling through vanilla is awful and as somebody who did play classic at launch I agree leveling through vanilla for me is a horrible experience I did not enjoy I get why they would add the Boost to uh burning Crusade and Wrath I feel like if blizzard ever added a boost to Classic wow like vanilla wow I think it would just kill the game like in in vanilla wow being level 60 and doing level 60 activities is half of the game it was like mediocre fun sometimes but other than that it's kind of a tedious grind I didn't enjoy it and I will put lay my cards on the table I don't play classic I I played those games and I've stuck to this point because it's the truth for the longest time is I played all those games when they were current and relevant and I did them to death I played them every single day they existed I played World of Warcraft in the beta all the way until I only stopped playing in shadowlands right that was when I stopped actively playing I played every single day World of Warcraft that period of time so reliving that was only going to be a negative thing because of course one thing that became very apparent when classic released in the first week of vanilla classic launch is this this was not the same game yeah players are far too educated they've mapped out every single aspect of this game it's things like the farming Argent Dawn reputation day one that's why a lot of people really liked like playing hardcore is that hardcore makes you play the game in such a weird way that it does feel a lot more like the game used to now I don't think that makes hardcore better like I actually don't even kind of like that as much but uh that is the appeal fun because you know you're going to need it when Knox Ramos launches of course never happened in the classic game add-ons that exist that did not exist during the classic era considerably easier and also the fact that people were getting epic mounts within like the first week or so yeah all right they were getting them really really quickly which was a long-term goal originally because we didn't know the efficient ways of getting gold we didn't know the maximum Farm spots and now they're even more optimized and that's what we saw happen it was a different game and bosses fell over very easily of course they have a sort of race the world first in classic but it's defeating in hours whereas originally it was days well it's like a speed run event you know it's not that big of a deal it's a few hours do you watch the guilds clear the raid it is what it is speaks in some cases to overcome these obstacles with Superbook bosses like original c'thun Etc and that's cool when it got to that point and we've like the first kill of aragnaros that I did was great the first kill of annexia but when it came to actually farming the game I've done not to death I moved away but that's usually the way that that's the way I felt about like BC and wrath is like I I bro I beat burning crusade in burning Crusade I beat wrath and wrath I didn't beat vanilla so that's what caused me to keep playing vanilla wow and also I think that vanilla wow is uh I mean all things considered I just think it's a more complete game even though I feel like classes play better in like wrath and BC not to say I don't have very very close ties with the people over who play classic in fact on several members of my previous retail girl shouldn't be standing they'll play classic every single day to this day so what does the wow token mean on the face of it there are some people like why does this matter it's it's it uh we can use this gold probably people are buying gold the wow token is convenient it can go towards balance but kind of knots in this case as it's going towards wow game time yeah um it's not a big deal you guys are making a big fuss about this thing I want to break down exactly why I do believe this is a terrible decision for all the wrong for uh for the reasons that might not be clear okay first of all if you're not playing classic you need to understand that because since day one of classic vanilla launching the shape and face of how that game works is very very different so probably what you used to on retail in fact it's generally considered the meta that the most optimal way to play is via gdkp runs and you can find which by the way I want to say again I am a huge advocate of gdkp I love gdkp I used to do it back in the day it was awesome these runs many of them daily and what this involves for any of you who've never played this but never played this mode of the game which is a player decided mode you go in and you bid gold on items so something drops and maybe it's something relatively inexpensive like a cloak a ring something along those lines and you bid gold against other people in the raid in order to acquire it and if you win you give your gold to the pop master and exactly and I I want to also bring up the fact that every single argument against gdkp is stupid so just keep that in mind guys whenever you're typing out what you think is wrong with it it all the arguments are stupid now is this large pot of gold that will Farm over the course of the raid and then once the raid is completed all that gold is distributed amongst the people who took part in that raid right in theory and in practice actually the system kind of works very very well because one incentivizes players to stick around to the end of the exactly because if you don't you don't have the gold as simple as that it incentivizes you to play well because if you're bad and you're just not contributing anyway you'll likely be removed there will be some boosters going on that's absolutely the case it also very much incentivizes really good players quote unquote the carries exactly they are the yeah it gives people that have beat the game and and gotten their best a way to keep progressing it's like uh prestiging you know those are the people who will play better than you even on their alts we all know those people exist let's not pretend they don't uh to go to these runs regularly it also incentivizes those players who are doing the boosts or the big players who have acquired a lot of gold because they do this system regularly yeah you also reinvest that gold exactly that's not me the gold amounts that's what you would do because those players are going to gear out they're alts using this system because gdkp well this gdkp does not create Gold by the way because no gold is being generated gold is just simply being traded it did exist back in the day I've done several of them uh you used to have a big problem is that eventually you would have like one character players who didn't need any more loot who would show up to do the boosting but we're never going to invest any gold this is counter-intuitive to our gdkp should work because eventually you just have a bunch of these players who are not contributing to the gold and they're kind of hoping that the seven or eight or however many people who are desperate for gear are gonna bring a lot of gold to make your run worthwhile exactly yeah that's the way it works is you have the carries and the carriers and you have a lot of people the thing is like you probably have like five to ten hard carries like hard carriers like you know these are like the fully missed out like these guys have all the best gear that they [ __ ] pre-pod on bosses Etc and uh then you also have like maybe five like pieces of [ __ ] you know maybe four one for each Armor class we used to do that and then we also would do three sometimes with like a vanquisher protector and uh conqueror and then make it Min bid of like you know 5K or something and uh then you have a lot of people in the middle because there's a lot of people that are not really a carrier they're they're not fully 239 or 252 whatever it is for uh hard mode old war now uh they're just like you know let's say maybe 240. and so there are a lot of pieces of gear that they still need from the game and they will go and bid for like maybe four pieces so a lot of people will bid in gdkp's not just the four or five people that are being carried very similar to what happens now with a head of the curve boosting because you're just kind of hoping these few players will make your time worthwhile yeah but obviously the the longer this stuff goes on and if you keep to that system they have less and less gold which means they bid less and less on items so it naturally is counter-intuitive to work that system if you're looking to make a lot of gold out this thing so in Classic this has become I think it's very effective the way that it's effective is that the same people don't come every single week usually you cycle through like buyers and you don't have the same buyer three weeks in a row you'll have like one buyer one week another buyer another week and uh it just kind of depends that's usually what happens the generally considered meta for acquiring gear a lot of gold now how much gold are we talking about a lot so we got to talk to some of the people who run these GDP people we're obviously going to keep it relatively Anonymous however uh one of them uh Zoo uhkp actually has everything public they have every single Speck of gold that has been utilized through their gdaqp runs completely public in Far transparent big mistake you can't skim it off the top that way but we can show you um in total like we have some stories here in total they have accumulated over the course of rather Lich King in terms of their runs 21 million 427 565 gold okay kind of a ridiculous amount for Wrath of the Lich King it's not though uh and the reason why it's not is the same reason why uh people's wager amount in like steak if you've ever seen like the amount of money that people wager on stake it is so high it's because that money is being it's being double dipped triple dipped quadruple dipped every single time that money exchanges hands it gets counted so it's not really 21 million it's probably more like five uh kind of a ridiculous amount uh and then they have all the payouts but then average pay time properly of seven I think 3 000 gold each wow now that's each that's for all the members of the raids running all the wire big money promises malagos all those kinds of things of course the upcoming togc um which they've said is going to be less less relevant but of course icecrown Citadel is coming we're paying out 20 items like trinkets being like and weapons being like a huge huge investment oh yeah and no doubt if you've watched a lot of classic players you've seen people doing these GD keeper runs it's a tremendous amount of gold now here's the thing there is no [ __ ] way in history that a lot of the gold that is going on in rather Lich King and I'm ignoring for now because we do know they exist the people using rmt and I mean literally they bid with PayPal uh and if they have uh I I even talking to these guys last night like the underbelly of this system uh oh my God I'm trying to remember if we ever had that there was this guy his name was Johnny boy he was a paladin I'm trying to remember if he did this or not because he was like he was such a [ __ ] scumbag like I'm trying to remember her feet I feel like he he must have but I just don't remember exactly what it was he didn't I bet he probably did that's going on in some of these groups which is they have somebody in there with a ton of gold like gold cap essentially yeah and they are bidding on behalf of someone else who's paying with PayPal we're not going into that that is a darker side of this this is not the people we spoke to on the absolutely clear uh that is not them that is they are very much after some of you may be aware of the galleywix in this incident galleywix was one of the biggest boosting Services I worked with them uh everything seemed on the up and up everything seemed fine and then suddenly it became exposed that there was rmt and stuff going on which is way against blizzards in terms of them uh so this is why uh the zoo uh actually make everything public like we're not doing that this thing it does everything is on the open up so massive thanks I don't blame anybody for rmting because if you can do it well why wouldn't you do it the only person and the the sole person and apparatus that is responsible for rmt is Blizzard do you think that blizzard couldn't figure that system out do you really think that with all of the tools that they have they can track your X Y and Z coordinates in the [ __ ] game but they can't figure out who's buying and selling gold uh-huh but talking uh talking to us about this so it's a huge amount of gold more gold than most people have probably ever seen there are people in retail who have not seen 70 000 gold uh so where is that gold coming from we're not idiots unquestionably a lot of people are buying gold in World of War in retail and Buzzard does do bandwaves but that goal doesn't come from buying gold that gold comes from gold being generated in the economy because every single item like like buying gold doesn't give you doesn't create more gold like if I if I give if I have a [ __ ] uh a gold bar and I sell it to somebody else we don't both have gold bars this did not increase the amount of gold bars in the economy the gold bar just simply went from me to him so the reason why this gold exists is because Bots created very very sparkly very spotless it was a big conversation we had is like very rarely do they do a bandwave and there are Bots everywhere it was a big big thing uh ever since classic came out is the sheer amount of bots some of you will remember the videos of the Rogues just cycling in and out of dungeons uh during TBC classic just constantly butting and butting and butting yeah I wonder who could have predicted that and not enough is being done about them and this is where the Crux of the discussion kind of comes from is uh-huh is Blizzard lizards moderation uh of what's going on in the classic service is nowhere near enough and now it seems like they're capitalizing on it yes that's the problem so purchasing gold obviously exists we know that exists you can Google it now and you can find it and it's something that can get your account banned if lizard finds out they can get your account banned and it's a very real fear that's going on yes I can get banned for buying gold if you weren't able to get banned for buying gold way more people would buy gold also massively unfair to the players who are not doing that because of the Integrity those classic people who love the game and will Farm legitimately are always going to be behind somebody who can spend a Euro for a thousand gold yeah exactly and be just way ahead of you it's as simple as that and then of course there's inflation because when people buy gold they can obviously bid more during these gdkp runs which are the matter well the the demand for gold causes inflation by creating a higher demand for Bots to farm raw gold to inject it into the economy whether or not it goes into a gdkp is irrelevant and the price goes up beyond the capabilities of someone who's playing normally now you can see where the friction in the community exists and what those players want is stop letting people buy gold yeah because it kind of makes sense why gdkp exists as I've explained already there's a lot of merits to that system obviously the guilds exist that are not doing this but if you're a one person Andy who can't join a guild and can't commit to progress it makes a lot of sense to utilize these systems but you're kind of being driven out because some guy who's a swiper could just buy way more gold than you can possibly farm and therefore you are driven out of it you simply do not have enough money in order to make this work oh yeah what you would have to do if you don't have the gold is you'd have to join like a group because I'm sure there's groups that run all the war that don't do gdkp I I'm sure that they exist and you'd have to join that and farm that more and do that instead on the alternative routes and you always feel behind you always feel like you're struggling you're always feeling catching up now the wild token comes in because they're not clearing out the Bots well enough which means there's so much gold in the economy already because if this system has existed for ages right this is the system has existed since vanilla classic where butting existed from there oh you only have a lot of video evidence of it and now there's so much gold in the economy like I say this this group alone has made 21 million gold uh during Wrath of the Lich King and now they've instead of like doing something stringent to to bring that down to try and get something in place to stop the butting to stop all the purchasing of gold it very much feels to those players like the wow tokens come in and what it's done is it said oh so you guys who are playing legitimately who can't really take part in this without farming your goddamn ass off like you're playing some free to play mobile now you have to pay us you could actually just buy the gold legitimately yeah and you can just take part in it there which will also it's like now you know like we've created this problem and you need to pay us to be part of it of inflation because because now the legit players will call them that are now also able to take part in this bidding of buying gold system but now you're paying blizzard for it because it's not even a one-to-one trade it's not even a one-to-one ratio now Blizzard's taking a slice of the pie they're skimming off the top and that's how it's coming across to the community is like instead of fixing the core problem which is probably and I agree it's probably already Beyond fixing because of the sheer quantity of gold it's not it's not at all like people used to uh they used to always tell you to to like kill yourself type the n-word and do all kinds of crazy [ __ ] in wow do you remember that like 10 years ago everybody used to do that all the time yeah they don't do it anymore as much right do you know why it's because they get Auto [ __ ] banned obviously some people still do it yes of course some people still do it but it is a fraction of what it used to be it is 10 if not less than what it used to be because the threat of losing your account is present people that now exists in the game illegitimately this is now just saying well you want a piece of that pie as well reminds me very much of when switch introduced bits a lot of streamers are making money off tips and donations that are coming in let's introduce bits so then we get a slice of that pie let's make it good let's let's pass it pass a little bit to that to me we can't stop it so we're going to take part of it now even the twitch thing with bits is uh I I would say that was even better than this situation because obviously you have transaction fees that you know ensure that you will receive the money that doesn't happen in PayPal there was a lot of chargeback problems on Twitch that bits alleviate they remove that problem so like even bits had more of a function than uh than the wow token does shady and why people are so rightfully pissed off that this has come into the game because all this does is inflate everything even more because what is the counter to this and after talking to the guys who are involved in this there's a very real situation where it's the fact that everything's just going to be more expensive and ultimately as the people controlling the g day keeping runs and all become more expensive because now that you've provided a way for people to buy gold legitimately you've just created a huge incentive for people to farm gold because now you can sell it legitimately now you're going to have more and more inflation that's what's happened in retail wow so yeah people with like 10 million [ __ ] gold buying out uh you know like these uh Black Market things they had to up the cap to 10 million advising these dumb things we're just gonna make a lot more and we're just taking money off people now yeah and we're taking they'll just get we're just getting more it actually will increase the disparity between low-level players and high level players because now high level players will make even more gold and low-level players will make even less gold like for example I remember back in BFA uh like dragon and like a lot of the other guys in the guild they would sell like bajira did this too and you can ask him how much gold he made uh is they would sell heroic nazoth and I I went with them a few times and like they would regularly make three million gold a day most average players probably don't make 3 million gold an expansion and the reason why they were able to make that much money is because there was sanctioned gold buying and everybody was buying tokens holy yeah that's it's insane man it's like busting in the Lost Ark yeah dude carrying people for gold is the most profitable thing to do in WoW it's not even remotely close Rich got richer and the poll now have to invest more money in order to take part in it because the price is going to go up probably especially with icecrown since now she's got deathbringers will it's got dislodged for an object these are all really prized items for the people enjoy rather Lich King and the likelihood is if you want it and you're not in an organized progression Guild you're gonna be spending a lot of money too uh that is what's gonna happen so you can see why the people are just absolutely outraged by this because one it doesn't need to exist and two the core problem that's led to the situation on the classic servers is not being addressed even closely well enough and so it's just a nightmare situation that's actually occurred for these players and I fully understand why people are pissed off and you might think well they're going to boycott right no no as few hours or they'll complain about it though like we'll make a video about it and you know I'll uh maybe tweet about it or respond to a Wowhead tweet negatively about the decision and I might have a couple of Clips on my clip Channel about it and then it's gonna fizzle out and nobody's gonna give a [ __ ] that's the truth because the effect of something like this isn't like an immediate [ __ ] it's not like you just go and kill the game in one second we'll get the difference in like retail wow look why people don't really give a [ __ ] about retail wow what killed retail well nothing a lot of things together did like multiple things over multiple years it was not it was the boiling frog the death of a Thousand Cuts yep there you go and it's like it was the the lawsuit it was Shadow ends it was BFA it was the wow tokens it was level boosting and it wasn't any one of these but every one of these was one percent and there were hundreds of them after this one oh we could we checked the US Realms it already sold out a cosplay is buying it because it allows them to get things it makes the whole thing so much easier it's like well if you don't have if you're not going to take some sort of moral stand which very few people ever do if you can't beat them join them yeah people don't give a [ __ ] might as well and now it was still available or at least on gehennes which is one of the biggest EU classic servers it was still available there but in in the US Realms it gone already and God knows now as recording this where the Guinness is already sold out because we I know uh well in talking to them a lot of people bought the token thinking they could buy Diablo 4 with it and you couldn't because it was only going to wow game time but they kind of got scammed on the whole goddamn thing yeah uh but ultimately this is just there's a there's a perspective which I've seen a lot of on Twitter which is like this is no big deal this isn't a thing of course it's a big deal you can literally buy gold in the game like what do you mean it's not a big deal wait you can buy gold how is that not a big deal it very clearly is it very clearly is and it feels so shady because it just looks at least to me into a lot of other players is this is just blizzard skimming off a system that they've not bothered to control and now we're going to take a piece of the pie and for a lot of players and I don't think it's going to be the majority it will be the death now uh into their classic experience that they waited years and years for somebody is saying that they've already you could already buy gold okay let's use some logic okay if you could already buy gold and the gold prices are lower than the wow token prices why would the wow token sell out it's safer right exactly so it gets way more people to buy gold yep there you go that's my point no potential ban yep that's right because it's legal yep there it is it that's how big of a difference and I bet the cost of buying gold under the table like like illegal gold versus like legit gold is probably two to three to one is that am I about right on that yeah so it's literally worth paying twice as much or three times as much somewhere between the two to have the risk of getting banned removed for that many people that it's sold out it's also comparing 10 people rmzing before to a thousand people buying law tokens isn't that an argument for why boys are could have dealt with it but there's always something like boosts coming in I'm not playing while tokens coming in okay I'm not playing but as we said these things are selling out across the place and the concern going forward is is this just if the entire Wrath of the Lich King or classic experience wherever it goes now and after talking to the people who make World of Warcraft classic and how passionate they are about actually creating it I don't know where this decision came from I I don't want to know no it clearly looks like the face of if you want to really enjoy classical you could possibly imagine one you invert because you've got a progress Guild which isn't too bad right I mean classic is notoriously not particularly hard uh compared to modern day retail stuff go that route but it does require a time commitment which many people do not want to make or second yeah you wall it out you want a decently geared character if you want to experience the stuff if you want to be uh be competitive with other people uh if you want to enjoy PVP without getting squashed into the floor and doing all those kinds of things you better get your goddamn wallet out that's right and if you if you weren't already you gotta buy the game You Gotta Buy level boost You Gotta Buy uh gold for gdkp you've got to put a buy-in for the gdkp uh you've got to buy the gold inside the gdkp you've got to buy in chance for the gdkp gear you gotta buy gems for the gdkp gear and then you got to buy more gold to join another gdkp and then you have to buy in chance for that gear and then a new patch comes out and then like oh [ __ ] okay so now you've got to buy more gold again then you've got to use that golden gdkp and then you gotta buy gems for that gear and then finally after you do that maybe you want to do some PVP uh you have to buy a carry for PVP and then finally get your PVP gear and then after you buy the carry for the PVP gear you're able to buy the PVP gear then you buy in chance for that gear and then finally after you do all of that you can finally play the game at last and it's just really the legitimate players who are going to be so free oh my God you have not been buying gold you have not been taking part in those systems and we're like sticking to their guns and now the prices and stuff are going to go up they sure will which means you're gonna need to get more gold thank you so much for watching I'd love to see your thoughts tonight bye-bye massive L for a [ __ ] idiot huh oh [ __ ] I can't believe it and you'll still play Diablo yeah of course yeah I'm really excited for Diablo Diablo's not going to be pay to win guys look guys blizzards learn their lesson okay now look the devs and Diablo hey hey hey yo there's many years ago they introduced walk with some classic I probably did I probably said it in the Mad Season video for BC I bet that's whenever I said it a Mad Season said it he was the prophet not me uh you know I'm only the prophet's Prophet so uh yeah it's [ __ ] sad man it really is it is [ __ ] sad
