boys and girls how about now all right now there's seven stories in here so i'm going to do the first one and that story is called choices now before we begin i want you to put both hands out like this really far good open shut them open shut them give a little clap very good open shut them open shut them place them in your mouth good now it all started in the living room grandma said billy yes grandma billy i noticed when i am calling you to wake up to come ready for school you are taking longer and longer to wake up and this is not cold billy billy in life you must learn how to be punctual punctual grammar what does that mean that means you are either early or untie so as of tomorrow i'm only going to call you twice and then i'm going to see what you're going to do okay grandma all right billy it's all about the choices that you make in life billy and every choice has a consequence yes grandma all right it's time for your bed but just before you go to bed billy let me sing you a song okay grandma choices choices it's all about choices what shall i do today god loves choices make the right choices where shall i go what shall i do today today sing it now billy okay grandma choices choices it's all about choices what shall i do today god loves choices make the right choices where shall i go what shall i do [Music] today today i love you grandma i love you too so after he went to his bed the next morning grandma called billy billy it's time to wake up billy billy billy opened one eye he opened the other eye and then he made the choice to close back both eyes grandma called again billy billy it's time to wake up billy billy but he opened one eye he opened the other eye and then he made the choice to pull the covers over his head and then grandma stopped calling and then billy said yes so time went on and billy got up and met grandma grandma grandma look at me i'm all ready for school i brushed my teeth i had a shower i'm all ready okay very good well off you go billy and as billy was leaving he could hear grandma in the background billy don't let me get any calls from your school school so billy was walking down the hallway of his school he opened his classroom door he looked inside and there was nobody billy said oh no where's my class where's my class so billy went to the office besides principal mr black mr black mr black where's my class where's my class ah billy we were waiting on you and it seems like today was your classroom field trip and you were late billy said oh no today was the day that my class was going to canada's wonderland my favorite amusement park [Music] so later on billy went home good evening grandma good evening billy well how was your day today it wasn't so good i missed the classroom field trip i know you knew grandma why didn't you wake me billy i told you it's all about the choices that you make in life and every choice has a consequence so billy what did you learn i learned choices choices is all about choices what shall i do today got lots of choices make the right choices where shall i go what shall i do today today and that's the end of your story hopefully i see you again goodbye boys and girls from divine lips to immortal fingertips flowed matchless creativity that released flawless strokes majestically thou art artistic intrinsically god the author of all colorful tapestry we now refer to as culture every creed race and ethnicity under one god fearfully and wonderfully made like the turquoise skies displayed above antigua and barbuda as the crystal waves crash the shores of half moon and galley bay as palm trees sway to the east to an island where you can feast on cuckoo and flying fish barbados national dish as we follow two stars to the dual islands of saint kitts and nevis to the heights of the mount laguma or the lush rainforests or you could shine bright like three diamonds of green on the flag of saint vincent and the grenadines or sip a cold glass of llb in sweet sweet tnt from pigeon point to maracas bay we family all day over to the gentle sway of the palm trees from mount pitton to case trees in saint lucia eyes close to the cool breeze towards the lesser antilles to the beauty of carousel well into the green gold and red with a star of nutmeg grenada the island of spice where god made everything nice to the sights of roots rock and reggae on display jamaica out of many one people from rocky point up montego bay or you could sway to the shantou in guyana bathe in couture falls or tour the diamond mines in bartika or behold how god created the mount raider cloud forest in costa rica from porter prince to crystal beaches of la badi in haiti to red frog beach in panama city or across the pond to our friends at the gates of buckingham palace or beside big ben or be blessed by what many call the original eden the motherland the genesis which birthed ethiopia meaning new flower in aramaic sharing borders with eritrea with its beautiful cities as mara and nora the rich minerals from rwanda's valleys to the heights of its volcanoes like garinga and karasimbi celebrating nigeria's tribes like fulani and igbo or moving to the rhythms in zimbabwe like jerusalem and although we stand on god for thee in the land of the maple leaf maple syrup raptors and poutine full of multiculturalism and diversity from our indigenous roots emerged ten provinces and three territories canada's beautiful story one god worthy of all honor adoration and praise your vision your love painted all these broad strokes we call culture today you raised your mighty hand and created all nations all of creation from the dust he created man and from his lips he created land every line every tribe all began with the great jehovah we are his workmanship let us praise him who created all this is our call to worship god asked abraham to leave his home and travel to a land he had promised him abraham did as god commanded and left a legacy of obedience for his children as he prospered in that foreign land he chose to give up a tenth of his goods leaving a legacy of generosity for his children god promised to bless him with a generation that couldn't be numbered and he claimed what god promised him leaving a legacy of acceptance of the blessings god promised as abraham's descendants we should do no less we are hairs of his legacy and can emulate it by our obedience to god's command to give we can prove it by giving generously and we can claim it by recognizing the blessing promised to us our god said that if we give he will open up the windows of heaven and pour out such a blessing that we will not have enough room to accommodate it let us rejoice today that we are heirs of abraham's legacy and we ask that you claim it and perpetuate it by returning the lord's tithes and from his blessings we ask that you will give a generous offering let us pray father we come before you today with thanksgiving and gratitude because despite the difficult times we're living in you have blessed us as we return a part of what you have given us in tides and offerings we ask that you will bless and multiply it may be used wisely to fulfill the commission you gave us to go into the world and tell every kindred every nation every tongue and every people about you we ask your continued blessings on your people today lord in jesus name amen [Music] this is the moment where we all get to go to god together i'm gonna invite you wherever you are if you can just stop right now i know many people might be in their living rooms and connect with you praise the lord happy sabbath i am grateful to be able to share today on this blessed sabbath with the perth seventh day evidence church family in toronto ontario canada i regret that i cannot be with you but it's coronavirus it's not because it's cold up there but it is the corona virus but hopefully one day soon when the pandemic has moved on should the lord have the latest coming i'll be able to come see and share with you in person but i'm grateful to be able to be with you via video in our virtual worship experience on this blessed sabbath now on this sabbath we praise god and we also celebrate black history it's the month of february black history month and we celebrate black history and so our sermon our message today is rooted in that theme but more than that more than celebrating black history i come today to celebrate god i come to celebrate the one who woke you up this morning he woke me up this morning started us on our way and so i praise god i praise god for his son jesus christ that through jesus said blood we can have eternal life praise be to god so thank you to the pastoral team and the membership of the perth church but i've come to praise god but in praising god we do want to preach a word from the lord today and in preaching a word from the lord today we want to go to the word of god so let's go to the word of god today i want to invite you to take your bibles and go with me to the book of exodus and we're going to the book of exodus exodus chapter 2. exodus chapter 2 today and we're going to read verses 11 through 15 and i'm going to read from the king james version of the bible exodus chapter 2 verses 11 through 15. perth family turn with me there let us read the word of god exodus chapter 2 verse number 11. you should see it on your screen and i'm going to read in your hearing from the word of god the bible says and it came to pass in those days when moses was grown that he went out unto his brethren and he looked on their burdens and he spied on an egyptian smiting and hebrew one of his brethren verse number 12 the word of god continues and he looked this way and he looked that way and when he saw that there was no man he slew the egyptian and hid him in the sand verse number 13 the word continues and when he went out the second day behold two men of the hebrews strove together and he said to him that did the wrong wherefore smites thou thy fellow the bible continues and says and he said who made thee a prince and a judge over us intended thou to kill me as thou kiltz the egyptian and moses feared and said surely this thing is known verse number 15 now when pharaoh heard this thing he sought to slay moses but moses fled from the face of pharaoh and dwelt in the land of midian and he sat down by a well today friends of mine we want to speak with you on the subject stop fighting each other stop fighting each other before we talk with you let's talk with god father in heaven right now by your power by your spirit and by your grace speak to your people today lord may they not see me but see thee living and working through me and lord we invite we plead for your holy spirit to accompany this message through the internet airwaves through the computers through the laptops through the smartphones and god because you're omnipresent we need you to be everywhere at the same time so speak to your people we pray may we be changed as a result of your word we pray and ask for forgiveness of sin it's in jesus name we pray amen story's told of a little white girl who on her first day of school went to a newly integrated school at the height of the segregation era anxious all day long the little girl's mother after the little girl finished her school day the little girl's mother met her at their front door of the house when the little girl came home from school the girl's mother asked her little daughter baby honey how did your day at school go today little girl responded oh mom you know what a little black girl sat next to me with fear and trepidation in her mind the mother then asked her calmly and sweetheart what happened the little girl said oh mommy we were both so scared we held hands all day long now when i share this story i acknowledge that the lord has blessed us and that god has brought us a mighty long way we may not be where we should be in terms of race relations but praise god we're not where we used to be i wish i had a witness in this place truly we've come this far by faith leaning on the lord but even as god has brought us a mighty way we've still got a long way to go let's be real though we're not where we used to be race relations are still not where they should be while many have thought that racial the racial tensions of the 1960s were behind us and we entered a post-racial era with the election of president barack obama as the first black president of the united states that jim crow was over and that the segregated south was done you better think again we still have problems we still have global problems and this is evidenced by the fact that ahmad alberry was shot while jogging brianna taylor was shot while sleeping george floyd had a knee to his neck and then on january the 6th 2021 an insurrection took place at the united states capital the united states capitol was breached windows were broken walls were climbed riots broke out fights ensued the american flag was taken down but the insurrectionists weren't shot on that day they weren't even arrested in fact the police opened up the gates the police took selfies with riders the police let the people in but yet in the summer of 2020 when peaceful demonstrations were taking place to protest the unmerited killings of armada albury oh brianna taylor of george floyd protesters were shot with rubber bullets while protesting and peacefully marching against these injustices friends we've got problems we still live in a society where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer we still live in a culture where the rich get tax breaks and the poor get back breaks we still live in an environment depending on where you live where you can't count on police protection but all you can depend on is police harassment we still live in a world where you have to work twice as hard to make it simply because you don't come from the right family the right zip code the right schools or you're not the right color church we've got a problem and somebody's got to stand up let me tell you something for those people that think we just need to be docile and roll over and play dead if we had gone along to get along on every issue of injustice where would we be some people that think that if you're a christian that means to take a vow of suffering and slaughter roll over and play dead but as martin luther king said freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor it must be demanded by the oppressed even jesus himself took a whip and went through the temple and cast out the money changers who had made his church a house or den of thieves church we have a problem but the problem is not just in the world but the problem is also in the church universal race relations in the church are not what they should be and i'm not here telling you what somebody told me i'm telling you what i know for myself i'm telling you what i've seen on a committee i'm telling you what i hear people say with my own ears there are still some churches where we are not welcome at let me illustrate you this by telling a story that occurred here in the deep south years ago white church was struggling over whether or not to allow a black man to join their church he had been their janitor for years and he wanted to take part and be a member of this church family a special vote of the congregation was called on whether or not they were going to admit and allow this black man to be a member of their church family as they pondered the issue of integration finally the vote was taken and then the vote was announced and this black man lost his bid or his desire to become a member of this church family late that evening the old black man was sitting on his porch in his swing thinking about how he had been rejected to become a member of this church he was talking to the lord he said lord i don't understand these folks i tried to join their church but they voted me out about the same time he heard a still small voice come to him from heaven which said and the lord said don't worry about it my child i've been trying to get in that church for years they won't let me in either i better understand how as i've gotten older the words of martin luther king when he said darkness cannot drive out darkness only light can do that hate cannot drive out hate only love can do that church we have a problem there's an author i was reading just this week and he was saying that the world in which we live is in what he called a state of emergency he says america considered 9 11 to be a state of emergency but blacks have been in a state of emergency since 1619 when the first 20 black slaves were brought to virginia on a slave ship blacks were in a state of emergency in 1863 when the emancipation proclamation was signed and let's be very clear the emancipation proclamation did not free the slaves know your history the emancipation proclamation preserved the union during the jim crow era blacks were in a state of emergency during the civil rights era blacks were in a state of emergency and based on what's going on in our world today blacks are still in a state of emergency what am i talking about one in every three blacks is in black males is in jail or under some other form of police scrutiny in the united states blacks comprise 13 of the united states population but make up 35 of drug arrests 55 of drug convictions 74 percent of drug prisoners and commit 55 of all robberies and because of this our children are in a state of emergency as well specifically when black men are in trouble our families are in trouble and are at risk of being systematically dismantled in these last and evil days the devil has made an all-out attack against the family 27 of all blacks live below the poverty line 72 of all black babies are born to unwed mothers and more than 50 of black marriages end in divorce and so the cry from this preacher today is stop fighting each other stop black genocide genocide from within and genocide from without you see it's an unfortunate reality that we are partly responsible for our own condition why too many of us have become uh hey we believe the stereotypes that are placed on us by an oppressive system now i'm here to let you know i'm be real today because some people just want a nice sermon we jump up and down and shout and that's it no no we got to speak to the issues today understand i said it before let me say it again too many of us have come to believe that the stereotypes that are placed on us by an oppressive system that we're lazy that were irresponsible that we're angry to name a few and sadly many of us have lived up to these expectations and perpetuated these stereotypes but don't be deceived today it's not just us society in general with its countless social injustices is also responsible what am i talking about racism runs rampant through our world's workforce schools communities and societies at large segregation continues in many schools urban schools are underfunded and understaffed blacks are often underemployed and underpaid the penal system the judicial system education system economic system and a whole bunch of other systems overtly and covertly contribute to the injustices in our society today too many social ills within our society have gone unattended for too long and friends of mine it's just a matter of time before the have nots confront the haves in a manner that will produce casualties of a serious kind resulting in the logical outcome of a system predicated upon the notion that simply some lives don't matter let me make this more plain in 2018 of those african-americans murdered in 90 of these cases the the perpetrator or offender was a fellow african-american now the system would have you to think and believe that blacks are just killing other blacks but let me be very clear that the same thing afflicting the black community is the same thing afflicting the white community because also in 2018 82 of the white murder victims were killed by white perpetrators so just as it is for blacks it's also for whites that killings are primarily intra-racial which is within a race not inter-racial between races so friends of mine let's be clear today it's not either or in reference to blacks and whites but it's both and but too often we're only quoted one-sided statistics with specificity to the black man so in the spirit today of equal opportunity let me share that white men are also in trouble there are fewer white men in college and graduate programs per capita than there were 10 years ago especially in the fields of math science and engineering which is why you hear so much talk today about stem science technology engineering and math america's unreadiness to deal with the oil shortage global warming the corona virus and the definite deterioration of the united states in industrial competence the loss of market share in the automobile steel and textile industry the utter lack of non-belligerent imagination when it comes to solving world crisis and the painful lack of initiative in dealing with the budget crisis the job crisis and the drug crisis are just a few indications of the moral and intellectual decline of the white american male so as martin luther king said either we will learn to love each other and learn how to hang together like brothers and sisters husbands and wives boyfriends and girlfriends or we will surely hang separately and die tragically like fools you better understand there is a conspiracy led by the devil to destroy the black man the white man the yellow man the red man the black woman the white woman the yellow woman and the red woman society is trying to eliminate each other but the devil is trying to eliminate us all stop fighting each other you cannot hate people without hating yourself stop fighting each other my friends this isn't a revolution of black versus white this is a revolution of right versus wrong stop fighting each other injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere stop fighting each other if you're neutral on situations of injustice you have chosen the side of the oppressor stop fighting each other freedom for the wolves cannot mean death to the sheep stop fighting each other and that's what moses in this text is trying to tell each and every one of us stop fighting each other as a society stop fighting each other as a people stop fighting each other as a church stop fighting each other as 70 adventist christians stop fighting each other there's too much fighting in the church i'ma bowl down somebody's alley right now there's too much racism in the church white versus black black versus white african-american versus west indian west indian versus african-american it must stop because it's not so much where you've come from but it's where you're going because the truth of the matter is we all originated from africa we just got dropped off by different slave ships on different places i wish somebody knew what i was talking about there's too much fighting in the church stop sweating the small stuff too much arguing about carpet colors too much arguing about music too much arguing about whether we should use drums or not too much arguing about women's ordination and should women be pastors or not too much arguing about ellen white too much stop it stop arguing in board meeting stop arguing in business meeting nobody wants to join a church that's at war we're sinners saved by grace all of us there are no big eyes there are no little you's all of us have sinned and come short of the glory of god we're all the sheep gone to the slaughter all satan wants to do is steal kill and destroy stop fighting each other most of us know the story of moses because pharaoh had commanded all newborn hebrew boys to be thrown into the now river moses mother hid him for three months and then prepared a basket boat knowing that pharaoh's daughter would come at a certain time to a certain spot to bathe she plays moses mother joker bear did she place baby moses in the boat placed him in the boat into the reeds along the banks of the nile river the princess found this baby and she fell in love with this baby we all know that a woman cannot stop picking up a baby are you hearing what i'm saying she took the princess did moses as her own son and then chose moses's mother jochebed to cut become the baby's nurse won't god work that thing out you may not see him but god is working moses was raised as pharaoh's adopted grandson but jochebed his real mama jochebed taught him of his heritage she taught him of the god of the hebrews so even though moses looked like an egyptian even though his hair was like an egyptian his clothes were like an egyptian even though he talked like an egyptian even though he walked like an egyptian even though he dressed like an egyptian even though he behaved like an addiction egyptian moses was still a hebrew in character religion and loyalty moses refused to be called the son of pharaoh's daughter the bible says choosing rather to suffer the affliction with the people of god than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season moses grew up seeing his people oppressed he saw their slavery he saw their forced labor he saw their oppression he saw their suppression he saw their repression moses loved his people and so it was at the age of 40. he saw an egyptian beating up one of his people he looked to the left he looked to the right and thinking no one else was looking moses killed the egyptian and buried the egyptian in the sand verse number 13 of our text says and he went out the second day and he behold he saw two of his own two hebrews fighting among each other and he said to the one that did the wrong why are you fighting your brother why are you smiting your fellow in other words why are you fighting this man this is your brother this is not your enemy stop fighting each other but the hebrew answered and said to moses look who made you ruler and judge over us do you plan to kill me the same way you killed that egyptian let that be a lesson for all of us there's always somebody watching you i wish i had time there's always someone who's watching and sees what you're doing when you think nobody else is looking we live in a world now in this day and age cameras are everywhere let me give you some advice somebody is always watching you are you hearing what i'm saying moses now is afraid his cover has been blown he has now been found out moses flees because pharaoh now knows and seeks to kill him just as adam and eve had to hide their sin so did moses because you see my friends sin must always have a covering i wish i had time any time you sin i don't care who you are you try to cover it up because sin must always have a covering that's why adam and eve sold fig leaves together and made clothes after they sin no one remember told them they were naked how did they know they were naked they knew they were naked because sin must always have a covering but concealing sin only delays its discovery because what's in the dark will come to light i wish i had a witness in this place so moses's brand of vigilante justice was observed by some hebrews and now his own people turn against him the israelites however knew no better but to turn against one of their own who was trying to help them when you read and study the bible in acts chapter 7 verse number 25 the word of god says it had been revealed to the elders of israel that moses was to be their deliverer but the bible says they understood not the same thing that happened in moses day is the same thing that's happening today when it comes to people under oppression the very ones you're trying to help the oppressed will turn on you and hurt you the people you help the most appreciated the least they turn on the one who helped them rather than hurt the system that is keeping them oppressed and so this attacks affirms for us that the oppressed end up fighting the very deliverer that god sent to deliver them harriet tubman said i freed a thousand slaves she said i could have freed a thousand more if they had only known they were slaves people often under oppression run and turn on each other rather than turning to each other brothers quit turning on brothers sisters quit turning on sisters people quit turning on each other stop fighting each other stop killing each other stop talking about each other stop the crab mentality why are you fighting each other read the text the one who was in the wrong is the one who got an attitude he is the one who said to moses who made you a prince who made you judge over us but hold up brother moses says the one you're fighting is not the one oppressing you the one you're fighting did not enslave you the one you're fighting did not pass segregation laws the one you're fighting did not pass jim crow laws the one you're fighting didn't put nelson mandela in prison the one you're fighting didn't ignore the hundreds of thousands of blacks killed in rwanda the one you're fighting didn't kill martin luther king didn't kill medgar evers didn't assassinate malcolm x didn't kill emmett till trayvon martin ahmad albert brianna taylor or george floyd the one you're fighting didn't conjure up to the tuskegee experiment to kill thousands of black men injecting them with syphilis or invent the hiv aids virus stop fighting each other why do you fight your fellow hebrews why do you strike your now notice brother the text notice that the egyptian guards never stopped the hebrews from fighting each other read the word the egyptian guards never stopped the hebrews from fighting each other because if they did moses would have never had to step in and stop them from fighting in the first place the fact that they were fighting and no one stopped them no one lifted a finger to stop them suggests that this was not an isolated incident but this was a daily occurrence the system wanted them to fight each other the system wanted them to hurt each other the system wanted them to hate each other the system wanted them to kill each other the system wanted them to remain at odds with each other because the system believed in a divide and conquer philosophy the system believed in oppression but moses was trying to help his own people who were under oppression but the hebrew says to moses who made you a prince who made you judge over us are you going to kill me just like you killed your fellow the egyptian pharaoh hears about the murder and pharaoh seeks to kill moses now either the one who was getting the beating ran and told moses or the one who was doing the beating and in the wrong ran and told moses now my holy hypothesis says that the man who was doing the beating ran and told because remember sin must always have a covering if i'm wrong then we all gonna be wrong if i'm wrong then we're all gonna go down but whoever ran and told on moses ended up hurting the very one who was trying to help him again my holy hypothesis my iso jesus now about exegesis but my isa jesus suggested me that the hebrew in the wrong got the attitude ran and told the king of moses one of his own to cover up his wrong doing and then divert attention away from himself let us never forget that there are always people who are ready to run to the king be it on our jobs be it in our communities being in our churches there are always those who consider their personal mission of reporting to the king on their brothers and sisters who are also in captivity think about it history says that that during slavery times one of the greatest obstacles to the freedom of blacks would be those who would run to the king who in an effort to show loyalty with in actuality all they were showing was their cowardice and the fact that they couldn't be trusted for anyone who betrays his or her own will betray others a dog who will take a bone is a dog who will carry a bone during the 8th period of antibiotics antebellum slavery the blacks of charleston south carolina under the leadership of denmark vesey uh had up devised a brilliant plan to take over the town however their strategy was never executed why because somebody ran to the king and told him the plan stop fighting each other the disloyal distrustful angry hebrew asks who made you judge over us who made you in charge of me you've got skeletons in your own closet you don't live in a glass house so before you come getting the speck out of my eye get the beam out of your own eye and that's just like people when you confront them with the truth they will try to confuse you with some trash let me give you some advice today you can't keep a clean reputation hanging out with messy people make sure everyone in your boat is rowing and not drilling holes while you're not looking i wish i had a witness in this place rather than deal with the fact that moses was right the brother wants to bring up the past to prove that moses was wrong so he turns on another brother who's only trying to help him which brings forth that saying i said earlier the ones you helped the most appreciated the least the very ones who are in your corner are the very ones you often find yourself in conflict with stop fighting each other moses is telling you i'm telling you but most importantly god is telling you stop fighting each other you don't win by fighting an eye for an eye will only make the whole world blind a tooth for the tooth will only leave everybody snaggletooth stop fighting each other let me tell you something we've got enough dope enough meth enough drugs enough alcohol enough crime enough theft enough murder enough poverty enough rape enough helplessness enough teen pregnancy enough divorce enough illiteracy enough high school dropouts we've got enough gossip and enough foolishness that we don't have time to be fighting each other so stop fighting each other and start fighting ignorance start fighting injustice start fighting discrimination start fighting racism start fighting stereotypes start fighting profiling start fighting hatred and stop fighting each other beloved the bible says let us love one another for lovers of god and everyone that loveth is born of god and knoweth god he that loveth not knoweth not god for god is love for god so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life if god be for us who can be against us no weapon formed against us is gonna prosper create in me a clean heart o god and renew a right spirit within me stop fighting each other there's no need to fight each other god showed moses that god showed israel that god turned the nile river into blood in defense of the children of god god released frogs flies and lice to fight pharaoh god sent boils hail and locusts to battle pharaoh god opened up the red sea so that israel could walk across on dry land israel saw pharaoh and the bible says 600 chosen chariots get drowned in the red sea it was so powerful the bible says that when miriam looked back and saw the man who had oppressed them the man who had belittled him the man who had just moralized them the man who had exploited them the man who had raped their children beaten their sons drowning in the red sea the bible says she grabbed a tambourine and she started beating it and she started dancing before god and god said the enemies you see today you shall see no more i will bless the lord at all times his praise shall continually be in my mouth my soul shall make her boast in the lord the humble shall hear thereof oh come and magnify the lord with me and let us exalt his name together oh taste and see that the lord is good his mercy endureth forever they had seen god when the serpents had bitten them they had seen god healed through a brazen serpent that all they had to do was look at it and they were healed from all their diseases they had seen loads of bread known as manna fall from heaven prepared for them in the wilderness and as long as they ate it and ate it on the day god told them to eat they were never hungry the bible says their garments their clothes never wore out even as they march and march and march the tension and the friction of their marching never ate through their garments even though they were natural fabrics they had seen god set up a dry cleaners in the desert they had seen god get water out of a rock god had to have set up a dry cleaners god had to have set up a spiritual shower in the wilderness in other words god kept them looking good and smelling good in the wilderness because there's no way you could be around the same folks for 40 years every day with limited water and the same clothes on unless god provided for you god kept their shoes from wearing out their leather never became pleather it never became thin 40 years of walking and their shoes still looked brand new as they walked through the wilderness that's how careful god was for them as they walk through the wilderness that's how faithful god was to them and just as faithful as god was to israel i'm so glad today to know that god has been faithful to us just like god fought for israel i'm so glad that god fights for us church of the living god i don't have to fight you you don't have to fight me because if i hold my peace and the lord fights my battles victory shall be mine jesus has already won the battle jesus already went to calvary he fought and he warned the devil is a liar the devil is defeated the war has already been won the fight is fixed we don't fight for calvary we fight from calvary jesus went to calvary to save a rats like you and me they hung him high they stretched him wide he hung his head for me he died but that's not how the story ends because on the third day he rose again stop fighting each other the same god who has led us back there is the same god who's going to lead us up here we have nothing to fear for the future lest we forget how we've let god's led us in the past and so i sing because i'm happy i sing because i'm free his eye is on the sparrow i know he watches me and if you can't sing i understand if you can't shout i understand but scoot over some s-o-s because the lord's been mighty good to me i've got to tell it everywhere i go i'm so glad troubles don't last always i'm so glad we'd be may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning time jesus lived jesus died jesus rose jesus left but jesus is coming back love is stronger than hate right is better than wrong action is better than inaction a smile will destroy a frown a hug will beat a shove the ballot is stronger than a bullet truth is mightier than a lie hope will arrest despair god is bigger than the devil heaven is greater than hell and jesus is coming back i said jesus is coming back he's coming back again glory hallelujah jesus is coming back again friends of mine as i get ready to close we've got a drug epidemic to root out we've got a corona virus to control we've got a crime wave to tame a health care crisis to manage a homeless humanity to shelter in a literate environment to weed out we've got rappers to reach a crop of geniuses to cultivate we've got a message to preach we've got a gospel to share stop fighting each other blacks and whites must work together his hispanics and asians must work together hispanics and blacks must work together asians and whites must work together whites and hispanics must work together we all must work together we're all god's children red and yellow black and white all of us are precious in god's sight so stop fighting each other father in heaven may we know who the enemy is today the enemy is not one another but the enemy is the devil the enemy is the devil and the devil is the root of all evil so in the name of jesus we're gonna put our war clothes on and fight the enemy fight the devil teach us how to love teach us how not to fight one another and when all is said and done lord i pray that you would save us in your eternal kingdom now god before i close there's a man there's a woman there's a boy there's a girl who is watching today and they've been fighting the wrong thing they've been fighting the wrong person the enemy is the devil and god today somebody's chains need to be broken someone today needs to be set free someone needs the pulling down of strongholds in their life god whoever they are wherever they are even as they listen to your still small voice today may they understand who the battle is against and god i pray that they would get victory over satan gift get victory over the enemy and so lord in order for them to get victory today whatever they're dealing with whatever they're going through whatever challenge is before them the first step in fighting and beating and overcoming the devil is to surrender their life to you so whoever they are wherever they are just as they are lord i pray that you would speak to them right now man woman boy girl speak to them and i pray that god their desire will be to surrender their life to you someone today needs baptism someone read baptism someone needs to join this church by profession of faith lord whoever wherever however speak to them right now help them to stop fighting the wrong thing and help them to surrender to you because that's the first step in winning this battle so god whether it's contacting the pastor whether it's contacting an elder whether it's emailing the church whether it's responding the chat wherever however whether it's calling on the church line i pray that they would surrender right now and seek oh god to fight the devil give them the victory i pray because the battle is not ours but the battle o lord is yours thank you for this time we've had this day
