hello guys chis here welcome back to another video in this one my friends I'm going to be testing the radian RX 6700 XT in Arc performance descend this one is the sapphire pulse edition of the card we are running it with the latest AMD drivers and I'm not manually overclocking it you can see all of its specs right here in Tech powerups GPU Z resizable bar is also enabled and over on the left we're pairing it with the ryzen 9 7950 x3d with half of the cores disabled because we're only using the x3d cores in this CPU so it's basically the same as the 7800x 3D and over on the memory tab we're using 32 GB of ddr5 6000 MHz Ram in dual Channel cl30 let's get into it shall we all right do you like my new character my friends it's beautiful isn't it very tiny so we can appreciate the graphics a little bit better in this video oh yes and I also tried to make his skin as red as possible because this is an AMD GPU let's go for the settings first okay and we're playing at 1080p resolution for first we're also going to test 1440p and 4K using the low settings preset but with the resolution scale set to 100% by default it sets it to 58% which is not great looking whatsoever and in this game you don't really have FSR support which kind of sucks but hey if you're interested in the low settings preset this is it with resolution skill set to 58% it it drops into the 60s as you can see but it should be 60 plus most of the time at least and on low settings the game still looks quite good but also later on in this video guys I'm also going to try it with some of those console commands that improve FPS like crazy ah beautiful rocks my friends it was exactly like this in the paleolitic or no Jurassic yes Jurassic is the one with the Dinosaurs uh yeah so I wouldn't really utilize the 58% resolution scale cuz everything looks like a smudge basically it's pretty pixelated in some way and and especially near grassy areas in vegetation it just looks pretty bad you know I don't know why the resolution scale is set to 58 by default so let's just set it to 100% so we're at Native um 1080p this game doesn't really drop a ton of FPS whenever you use resolution scale at like 50% as you saw almost compared to Native resolution and increasing resolution also doesn't really drop your FPS by too much so I'm just going to keep at Native resolutions all right my friends if it had FSR 2 I would probably utilize that but it doesn't at least for now in this current version of the game so I'm just going to stick to Native res because again it looks the best this way obviously and uh yeah it's dropping into the lower 60s higher 50s sometimes over here obviously I'm playing single player to test the GPU properly without any CPU bottlenecks not that I would be CPU bound with this CPU in particular but in multiplayer there are a ton of more variables and bases and so on and it will tank your performance down 6700 XT is actually not terrible well aside from this freaking stuttering mess that is happening right now because we we are loading in this new area again God damn it man why why do you suck so much Arc developers at optimizing your games like the first game survival evolved also stuttered like crazy and now this one comes out well it's in Early Access of course that's always their excuse but yeah it also stutters like hell and it's dropping into the 40s here guys we're getting 40s on a 6700 XT like how crazy is this now you can make the game look really bad with the console commands as well wait are we actually losing oxygen right here for example like the guy is really tiny I I think he can still breathe you know this could be a disadvantage compared to a taller person right anyway this GPU is like about what 2080 TI performance maybe a little bit slower than that and uh well in Arc survival evolv the 2080 TI would be like an insane GPU it actually came out uh a lot after the actual game came out oh God and now in Arc survival ascended or performance descended whatever you want to call it it is way worse guys damn u5 is is it's such a beast to run you know it's really really hard to run probably unoptimized actually the game looks great but this performance is not justified in my opinion so let's go ahead and bump it up to 1440p now here we have it 2560 by 1440 is now the resolution it sets it to 52% so I'm actually going to set it to 100% and we're still using the default low settings by the way these two settings right here which are set to high on the low settings preset make a huge difference if you disable them it's like you're playing Arc survival evolved on low instead of like Ultra setting I mean the low setting in this game probably look better than Arc survival evolved on Ultra uh but all right this is 1440p resolution let's start counting our FPS we're leave me alone leave me alone you bastards we're getting like 40s and 50s so a little bit slower than 1080p which is expected but not by that much you know you can probably still see 60 FPS in some areas most of the time it's going to be about 50 to 60 though VM usage went up slightly but it's still not anywhere near the 12 gab of V Ram of this card so that's great and I'm just going to go to the water part of the map once again because it drops a lot near water dropping into the high 30s massive stutter there uh I don't care about my last that let's let's dismiss that yes kind of want to go to the swampy area with all of those roots and so on that might actually drop our FPS into the lower 30s I guess Arc players are probably used to this kind of crap the stuttering the massive FPS drops especially in multiplayer again with big bases and stuff uh the inconsistent performance and a low FPS as well yeah I I you guys should be mad you guys should make a review on steam there are plenty of people already doing that H saying negative things about the performance cuz at the moment to achieve good FPS at like 1440p ultra settings I don't think there's a GPU capable of that the 4090 gets like 40 frames per second like 45 average I think at 1440p ultra settings or at least it did back when the early aess released then it had a little update for performance you know they fixed a ton of things and it's running a lot better now also it's very interesting that it's rainy weather right now I have never seen this game with rainy weather it looks great here on the reflections you know look at that I mean there's a lot of popping like little Stones popping into the image of course but it's low settings after all but but for low settings again this this kind of looks insane okay so this area over here is also pretty intensive it's still not the area where I wanted to go but it's very similar and we're seeing like drops into the lower 40s not a problem higher 30s I actually thought it would drop a little bit more than this around these areas so not terrible thank you very much for the push buddy okay stop it stop it see I actually punched that thing and it had a stutter because I haven't really done that yet so it was loading that what I can I killed myself what how how okay let's go this way I guess oh what the heck dude okay so this makes me think that maybe 4K is going to be playable with 360 TI it definitely wasn't but we didn't have enough vrm on that GPU of course so maybe 67 XT can do something here at 2160p 100% resolution scale let's see all right it definitely can well it's going to drop definitely from thir 30 frames per second there we go 29 already so 84k is definitely not going to happen on a GPU like this but hey it's it's a little bit better than 36 DTI I guess both are unplayable so it doesn't really matter I would never do this guys playing with 20 something FPS I mean if you're used to playing Survival evolved with like a gt1030 or something like that you you might come into this one with a GPU like a 6700 XT and with these settings at 4K and because it doesn't really stutter all that much you might think that this is playable it's for Arc I guess in single player it might actually be playable I would say but nobody absolutely nobody should do this we're getting down into the 20 so I guess at this point it's very close to what the 360 TI got so at 4K I would actually lower this down to like 67% which is the number from like FSR quality or dlss quality and of course it decided that it wanted a little bit lower resolution scale for some reason so you got to do it again there we go 67% resolution scale and here we went from like 23 to 30 FPS just standing here you know but as soon as you start walking around it still drops from 30 FPS yeah at 4K this is definitely not doable let's try like 50% resolution 50 okay which is like performance FSR 2 and performance dlss come on even though this is not like FSR and dlss the resolution scale slider in this title actually apply some upscaling to the image it doesn't look as bad as running like 50% resolution scale um just flat this looks a little bit better than that for sure it's not super super pixelated especially at 4K resolution it's doable I would say water I think is what looks a little bit rougher here cuz it has a lot of noise and shimmering and uh kind of pixelation as well you can see like little squares on the water it looks really weird but if you're ignoring water I guess it's going to be fine what the hell is that oh boy you know what while we are here at 4K I'm actually going to lower this down all of it down to like low light Bloom turn that off as well and these are the lowest settings inside of the game without going into config files and stuff like that and if you want 30 plus FPS all of the time at 4K this is probably the way to go right it's actually dropping into the low 30 still but I don't think it will drop from 30 in single player at least there might be a few areas that are more intensive than this one of course and it's going to drop a little bit further there possibly into the lower 30s but I don't think with these settings it will drop that far but as you can clearly tell the graphics are looking pretty terrible right now this is really flat and again it it probably looks kind of like low settings preset maybe with a little bit more vegetation and foliage um than survival evolved but I would put it in in the same uh graphical Fidelity as survival evolved right now it's just really flat guys survival evolved on high for example looks better than this why did it change it to 7 70% like what the hell why do you need to change the resolution scale ah gosh this game is so weird man okay 50% 50% is giving us 40s all right much better Improvement compared to previously it was dropping to like 29 right here now it drops to like 39 we saw like 35 previously but that was a stutter it doesn't really count you know um so yeah this this is definitely going to be at 30 plus all over the time I can't really tell a difference between 50% resolution scale at 4K and 70% by the way but since it looks so terrible I'm going to go back to low settings preset go back to 1080P and just apply a few console commands to make it perform better all right guys so what we're doing next is play at 1080p resolution using the low settings preset all right which keeps these things on high that look great and I have added a couple of console commands to improve things first of all the volumetric clouds you can see that we have no volumetric clouds we still have volumetric fog because if I disable it it looks way worse than this but yeah if I reenable volumetric clouds you can see that the sky looks way better but we lose a ton of performance we're getting 71 frames per second right here and with volumetric Cloud set to zero we're getting 99 frames per second 100 even so keep that disabled if you want 60 plus FPS all of the time and the other console command that I recommend you to utilize if you want 60 plus FPS all of the time at least at 1080p resolution don't know yet about 1440 is the r. Max pixels per Edge 4 so the default for this one is either one or two as you can see if I set it to one it's getting 68 frames per second right here uh if I set it to two it's it's getting 7 78 frames per second right here and I can't really tell much of a difference in terms of visual quality either I I know that some things are changing cuz you can clearly see it like flicker for a little bit or whatever applying the new setting but when playing the game it's it's hardly noticeable so setting this to four as you can see I think it's like the yellow D distance look at that yeah it's definitely LOD distance so if you don't really care about this too much set this to four uh you're going to lose a bit of visual Fidelity at the distance definitely but if you're not seeing things side by side it doesn't really matter all that much guys and you do get way higher frames per second as you can see I'm going to start counting our FPS let's run around like this for a little bit and I mean the game overall still looks very pretty still looks very similar to what we saw previously aside from the sky of course which is now blue instead of white with all of the clouds H you're not going to get rid of these huge stutters okay these are still going to happen cuz it's just reversal stuttering and Shader compiling stering from Unreal Engine 5 which sucks I hate it but I don't think that's going to go away anytime soon I I'm going to go as far as saying that the developers don't care at all and it's never going to be fixed all right you already get the idea it gets 60 plus FPS all of the time like this and it's a much smoother experience indeed in terms of averages at least I definitely do recommend these couple of settings let's go up to 1440p now okay here we have it 2560 by 1440 100% resolution scale low settings preset with those console commands and look at this guys it is actually getting around 60 frames per second now this is is making things disappear in front of us and some things are pretty weird like those Shadows over there so in some ways it can look rough okay not sure why that's happening I didn't notice it at 1080p at least um but we are getting 60 frames per second with almost the same graphical Fidelity aside from like at the distance of course and the the sky and this is a big smoothness Improvement definitely compared to what we saw uh without the console commands you know it was getting like what 45 plus FPS with some drops into like the high 30s at times close to water oh my god oh has it actually crashed yeah okay so it it crashed this time oh thank you so much is beautiful this oh yes this game so not broken whatsoever uh so yeah inside of forest areas like this one expect 7s that's pretty nice like higher 60s and even higher 70s at at times not bad whatsoever and of course inside of the water it can drop from 60 FPS and it probably will drop from 60 FPS in bases and stuff like that and in the other jungly area or swampy area whatever you want to call it um but it's still a way smoother experience than what we've had previously I'd much rather drop into the low 50s maybe High 40s at times then into the high 30 and now of course let's try it out lastly at the 4K resolution maybe at Native it will actually be playable now it did crash again God damn it ah this game man I it's very hard to Benchmark here we have it my friends 2160p low settings with the console commands already applied and we're getting it still drops okay I really thought we could get 30 plus all of the time but apparently no that's asking too much out of the 6700 XT my friends it is going to be 30 plus inside of like forest and stuff but as soon as you come across big water Parts like a river you know uh it will actually dip down into the 20s yeah 27 26 even Jesus it can drop like crazy dude so you still require that resolution scaling to make it playable here guys going to set it to 50% it still looks really good on a 4k monitor I'm using a 42 in 4k panel for this by the way and if you use like a 32 in or a 27 in 28 in 4k monitor it is going to look way better than this and I can hardly tell the difference it's a little bit more pixelated when you're moving especially around your character and you can see a bit of noise as well the shadow looks pretty bad as well um but the performance Improvement is definitely worth having 50% resolution scale here at 4K res so uh yeah if you're playing at 4K I guess these are the settings to go with and if you're playing at the other resolutions it will work even without the console commands but if you prefer it like this having a little bit of a smoother experience with some tradeoffs in terms of visuals well this is it my friends I think we've covered pretty much everything in this video anyway that's been it thank you very much for watching this video catch you in the next one very soon as always love you all bye-bye Bo let me just why can't they kill me after and why does it say I killed myself every single time so weird
