Sad to hear that he's still doubling down on the "don't vote!" bullshit. If everyone was truly displaying "complete noncompliance" by not going to work, not leaving the square, not complying with police, massive peaceful protest, then yeah, that would be effective, but all his listeners are hearing—because it's all they're really willing to risk—is to not vote; and if that's all they do, they won't change shit, and the powerful people in charge will love that they didn't vote. They'll love it that a bunch of revolutionary-minded people decided to disenfranchise themselves: "Hell, we've been trying to disenfranchise you for years, if you'd like to do it to yourselves, go ahead!"
Brand is certainly not the first person to make that point.
If you take Jesus' Biblical advice to the rich man (to give everything he has away), and then run it to its conclusion -- with each rich man giving everything away, then the next rich man, then the next, etc. -- you will eventually wind up with communal ownership of the wealth: communism.
You know what I'd like? A chat show with Brand, Gervais, Fry, and Izzard. And maybe Craig Ferguson, though he's already quite occupied.
