who've done that revolution over there think more clever fortune than what i'm thinking right now and uh that expects you to understand you don't think proper forts late in stone i'm in here so the thinking is important to you these days not really mate it's just some trump tap survey who cares it don't mean nothing they just put me in the flog that magazine but i think the old thoughts are pretty good quality actually well that's what i mean i didn't mean necessarily their thoughts about you i love you mate i love you when you're neo i love you when you're out bill and ted i love you on the coach ride one i've done nothing but love you and i've had very little in return uh let me ask you about your politics we will get because this well what are you saying all right but this is the big thing in your life right now and i'm worried about it in a way which i'll get to in a minute oh okay because i know you used to be uh you had things that filled holes in your life you were an addictive person heroin there was one there yes and ladies as well there was a big sexting gun of course now all that's left is the bloody thoughts well now about heroin and ladies mostly we can see what i'm getting at go on mate has this become the thing i mean are you filling your life with this in a way which might not be healthy for you you know what i'm saying jonathan are you saying that i'm trying to feel an existential inner void fight by trying to create political equality at this time where it's much needed by addressing the many social cultural problems that we live under at this time no just because i can't get a nosh job no more i'm doing it for the love of my fellow man i know you are well what i'm trying to do is invest in people and help people that don't get opportunities that's all i'm trying to do yeah no i know you are you are you're putting your money where your mouth is as well i know because i know and you still see the stuff i used to put where my mouth is here's the thing about russell is i said he puts his money where his mouth is if you've opened the cafe i'm at the cafe okay and the cafe is funded by the money i believe you raised from your books and other work as well yeah you're putting money back in the community i wrote that book revolution i thought the main consequence of me writing that book revolution can't be like a bloke with some money gets more money so i stuck the money into this cafe it gets drug addicts like me but in recovery well like me also back to work gives them job opportunities ex-offenders coming out stir gives them a job as well uh we like all the honey that's gonna be like in the cafe and all the eggs and that we've got people keeping chickens people keeping beehives because apparently saying it's up with bees these days but wearing bees now i mean that's a possible jerry me clarkson wouldn't like oh we're supposed to worry about bees actually apparently we are going to be worried about bees so what i'm trying what i've realized is this making loads of money in that it is better than being dirt poor in essex ollie will testify but like the fulfillment i thought i would get from being famous and showing off i didn't really get it so now i'm trying to spend my life being nice to people still having a laugh i'm not trying to be all serious or nothing i don't give a about that stick me in a list of fingers stick me in a list of stinkers stick me in a list of wankers i don't give a all i do is help people and have a lot okay well that's a beautiful thing you know what um there's a film uh russell has a film coming out called the emperor's new clothes which uh shows him going on part of the journey that's starting to come to his opinions and shows him confronting people and also meeting people who he feels have been shortchanged by the system as it stands today would that be a fair assessment yeah mate i made this field with michael winterbottom he's a proper filmmaker so good what what is this documentary is it's about that financial crash in 2000 2007 they propped up a dead financial industry with state money so this film shows how austerity in this country was built upon a financial swindle much like the uh fairy tale emperor's new clothes so i go around meet people from the city loads of analysis and clever people and that while i'm thinking my even cleverer thoughts in secret go around people who have been hurt by austerity people with disabilities people that are struggling to find work and it's a different way of telling the same story we're always told that we should be victimizing people that have sort of got less than us while this massive swindle took place sort of out of our sight but it's real and like and i think if you tell stories in a different way then we can create different realities reality is only a story a consensus what you believe in that's why it can change so easily so it's a wicked little film and uh see it down the cinema i don't have to pay bunk in around the back it's uh [Music] you
