playing PC games like Fallout 3 on your Android device be the tablet or phone just got a lot easier with the new application known as win later [Music] hey what's going on everybody it's ETA Prime back here again today we're going to be taking a look at a brand new application that allows you to easily run PC games or at least older PC games on your Android device this is known as win later and is coming to us from a Dev who goes by the name Bruno 85 it's totally free to use you can download it right now from the GitHub but keep in mind it is still a bit early but this is really awesome it's actually the easiest way that I found to run PC games on my Android device like Oblivion Fallout 3 got some cuphead going undertale there's tons of games that will work with this kind of right out of the box a little bit of setup to do but it's really not that bad and like I mentioned it's definitely one of the easiest ways that I found to get these games up and running on Android so right now I'm actually using a Samsung Galaxy S9 tablet it's brand new to the market we've got one of the most powerful arm-based chips for Android the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and even with the newer tablet like this we're still not getting 60 FPS with Fallout 3. it's getting real close but again keep in mind it's still really early this is version 1.1 in this video I wanted to show off some gameplay I'm also going to explain where to get it and I'll show you the exact settings that I'm using for the games that we're going to see running here now if you've got any suggestions or if you've been using this for a while and found better settings definitely let us know in the comments below here we have undertale running it actually runs pretty well but you know the main downside to this is kind of the on-screen touch controls you can fully adjust these but I haven't been able to use physical controllers or keyboards with this just yet okay so this is actually pretty easy to set up you can do it all on your device be it Android phone tablet or even like a little mini Android PC from GitHub all the information you need to know about when later is right here you're going to install the APK you're going to download the obb file and place it in your storage emulated xero Android obb com dot win later you start the APK it's going to extract that and you're good to go but uh from releases first thing you need is the APK so you download this and down here we'll get the obb 470 Megs so you just download both of those place it in the correct directory start it up and you're going to get something that looks like this right off the bat all of the games that you're going to see running in this video are actually the Gog version so there's no DRM there you can use some Steam games that don't require DRM but you know I find it really easy just to use the Gog games and I'm going to walk you through the settings that I use for most of the games that I'm running here everything seems to be working really well with this setup but uh you know there's a lot of stuff that we can tweak here you won't have a container present this is the container I've created but what we're going to do is just press this plus mark this is going to be named container two I'm going to keep my screen size at 800 by 600. the turnip graphics driver dxrapper I've been using the DX VK 1.10.3 for uh you know games like Oblivion and even Fallout 3 seems to work better you can set your CPU Affinity to all of your cores if you want to I'm just going to do it for this one GPU name I usually go to GTX 1070. video memory up to four gigs and our DX components direct sound native Windows that's all I've changed here press the check mark to save those some games might not boot like this so you will have to kind of experiment with it but when it's time to run your container you'll choose run here all of my games have been transferred from my main PC over to this tablet here and I've placed them in my downloads folder in Android they're going to show right up here in your D drive and if you want to create a shortcut let's say Fallout 3 here we're gonna go to Fallout 3 tap with the right finger then tap with your left finger we're going to create a shortcut and now this shortcut is actually on our desktop here but it's also in our shortcut section once we boot the app up so if I exit this right up here in the top left hand corner shortcuts you can see I just added another Fallout 3 in container 2. so these are the shortcuts to my games and I mean it's actually one of the easiest ways to get up and running with these x86 games on Android that I've tested so far and one thing I actually forgot to mention was showing your FPS so for my container 2 I'm just going to choose edit show FPS make sure we save it by choosing that check mark we can actually start playing directly from the container or from our shortcut section and let's go ahead and test out cuphead we'll launch it from here and once we get a game up and running you'll see we don't have any on-screen controls we can still use the mouse cursor with the touch screen here but we're just going to back up with the Android back button we're going to go to input controls and there's two settings out of the box you've got RTS and a 12 button controller template I've gone through and just set up a little profile for cuphead specifically and that's really easy to do as soon as you get into this you'll know exactly how to set those up in my opinion this is the most cumbersome thing about the whole application itself really wish I could use an external controller I've tried wired and Bluetooth but unfortunately it's just not registering so you do need to set up you know controls for your games you can use the pre-made profiles if you want to but a lot of games just have different button layouts even with cup pad and easier to run game on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 we're not at 60fps so there is more work that needs to go into this but it's very very promising personally I actually wouldn't mind playing this game like this we're about 40 FPS and I've seen it jump up to around 50 6. not horrible I mean it's not super laggy or anything like that but again we are working with an easier to run game we've just got a 2d side scroller here I've also tested out Freedom Planet undertale runs really well it's not a super fast paced game so you can definitely have some fun there and anytime you want to exit you will need to press your Android back button phones and tablets are going to be a bit different but for this one here I just swipe up from the bottom press back exit I can go back to my shortcuts or I can go to The Container itself and play another game we're gonna go with Elder Scrolls Oblivion Morrowind is another one that'll run at 60 FPS here but there's already open Morrow win which works on Android it was really kind of based around that game so all the optimizations are there it's probably going to perform much better especially on Lower End Hardware but seeing Oblivion and even Fallout 3 running on Android is really impressive I do need to take some time to kind of reconfigure my on-screen controls here I'm using the RTS preset and I've just added wasd to move around and of course to run in this game you do need to hold shift so uh it's a little all over the place I probably should have just kind of remapped everything but this game does run quite well on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 we're right there around 42 FPS on average would be nice if we were running this at 60 but it's pretty smooth the way it is and if you end up testing this on a different device you find better settings please let me know in the comments below I'd actually like to have this kind of set up ready to go and you could use an external controller it's just not really built into the app just yet you'd have to use another third-party app to kind of map those physical controls for on-screen touch controls so I really didn't even bother with it yet in the final game I wanted to show off here was Fallout 3. this was the one I was really excited about this in New Vegas if you've got New Vegas it'll also run just as well and again even on this high-end Hardware we're not at 60fps but it's so awesome to see Fallout 3 running on Android now it's not a native Port we're actually just emulating x86 here on this ARM device over the past few years x86 emulation on arm has definitely come a long way and when later just kind of makes it really easy for anybody to get into this but remember win later is also using some third-party apps like Ubuntu root FS wine Fox 86 box 64 P root Mesa 3D dxvk and d8vk win later really takes all of those third-party apps and kind of packages them into a nice APK to allow the end user not to really have to mess around with much to get these games up and running and that's what I really like about win later kind of just takes the pain out of uh setting this up on your Android device but that's gonna wrap it up for this video really appreciate you watching I will keep my eye on wind later for more updates more optimizations and things like that if you've messed around with this found some better settings for uh the games that we're testing here or if you found games that work really well and win later let us know in the comments below it'd be really nice to test some more stuff out but if you're interested in installing this on your Android phone tablet or Android PC I'll leave some links in the description free to use head over to GitHub you will need that APK and obb file and if you do end up testing it out and get some good performance let us know what phone you tested it out on or tablet what kind of chipset it's got because I personally haven't tested this on anything lower than the Snapdragon gen 1 and gen 2. if you've got any questions let me know down below like always thanks for watching
