Ruger 10/22 Upgrades - DO THESE FIRST!

foreign [Music] welcome to another tandem cross video I'm Luke and today we're going to be going over how to upgrade your factory 1022 like this one here and take it from good to great so I'm going to be going over the order of upgrades that I'm going to make to this rifle in the way that I would personally do it but use this as a roadmap to make your own decisions and prioritize the things that you find the most benefiting and work at your own pace so without further Ado let's dive in so first and foremost I'm an optic guy I want an optic rail in this and if you're in the same position as me here and you don't have some sort of optic solution whether it be a mount or a picatinny rail then you're gonna have to have some sort of something there to accommodate a red dot or scope so the first upgrade I'm going to make is the advantage charging handle and picatinny rail it's going to allow me to have that Picatinny for an optic solution whether it be a scope or a red dot as well as a charging solution for the left side so I'm able to clear jams and things like that or even just charge the rifle without having to leave the shooting position and taking my hand off the trigger I can actually use my forward hand to charge which is huge for me I'm not going to actually walk you through the installation because that would make this video super super long but we do have videos for everything on our website and here on our YouTube channel so I'm going to install this and show you how it works alright so just with a few screws I've now installed the advantage charging handle and picatinny rail I can now mount a red dot right on top of the receiver and I also have the left side charging which is huge because my trigger finger belongs here and not here let's move on alright so the next upgrade we're going to make is actually going to be the trigger and Fire Control System I really really like short crisp consistent and adjustable triggers and the way we're going to achieve that is with the Manticore trigger pack it's a fully loaded trigger pack with amazing features like the victory trigger the hammer and sear we've also got our rotary safety bi-directional mag release and on the other side an extended bolt lock I'm mainly making this upgrade for the trigger because that is the upgrade I would want make next and if you're not interested in the full trigger assembly all of these features are backwards compatible with the factory Ruger trigger housing so you can kind of pick and choose your favorites and upgrade it at your own pace so let's install it and all right just like that we have an extremely light trigger pull which I'll show you on the Range we've got the rotary safety the bi-directional mag release and the extended bolt lock we've done it let's keep going I'm now going to include the third and fourth upgrade in one go here because I am going to install them at the same time the third upgrade I want to make is going to improve the charging of the firearm tremendously this is the Spartan charging handle the Spartan is an extended charging handle that allows me to way more confidently charge the rifle has more real estate it's skeletonized it's lightweight it's just awesome and with the Spartan I'm going to pair it with the fourth upgrade the crossfire bolt which is like a warm security blanket it's a radius aftermarket bolt that has a really smooth interface with the hammer which you can feel when you charge and shoot the firearm it ensures smoother cycling while shooting and comes out of the box with a retained titanium firing pin and it's retained with a cross pin on top it restricts vertical movement which greatly minimizes the potential for light strikes it also comes with an Eagles Talon extractor pre-installed it's hardened tool steel it's very very durable and very aggressive it's gonna get the job done so I'm going to go ahead and install both of these upgrades now I'm not going to be able to show you much here in this room room but uh watch till the end and we'll have some shooting and testing footage at the end alright so now I've installed the Spartan charging handle and the crossfire bolt I am going to wait to show you guys how awesome these are until we're out on the Range so let's move on to our fifth and final upgrade and lastly before we move on to the fifth and final upgrade I do want to mention that tandem cross offers way more than I'm mentioning in the video as far as uh 10 22 and 1022 charger upgrades go but I did want to keep the video short and sweet so let's move on to the fifth and final of the video so as you can see here I've got the rifle taken apart I've had to do this many times during this video because I actually have been upgrading as we go um and with that being said there's one thing that has saved me multiple times I don't have a full shop in my studio here to make these so it's proof of concept that with the right stuff you can kind of do these installs or maintenance pretty much anywhere the cross pins okay let's talk about these These are retained cross pins that replace the factory cross pins we have them for the receiver and for the mag release these are going to make it a lot easier for you to be able to do maintenance on the rifle without having them either walk out or fall out and roll off the table while you're working on your rifle these cross pins have a ball detent so they're really staying in there until you actually mean for them to come out so they're much harder to lose and I'll tell you right now the factory ones are very easy to lose and very stressful to replace now that we've taken the rifle from this to this let's go put an optic on it and hit the range [Music] [Music] [Music] thank you guys for watching
