ROG Ally | RSR Guide

hey what's up guys filterless here so today I'm going to show you about rsr so if we toggle this on right now it's not doing anything the options just enabled because we're at 1080. however if we started the game at 1080 I found a Diablo it won't work regardless so even if we drop this down to 720P and we toggle this on or off that's not doing anything and I can show you how we can find out and I'll show you how to enable this so if I hit alt r I just brought up the AMD overlay in-game overlay I'll show you how to enable this there will be time stamps down below and right here we can see radon super resolution shows enabled shows sharpening set effect of 75 however anytime it's actually upscaling there will be another box down below this that will show it's active with a green check and the resolution so I'll show you how to fix this so we need to exit out of whatever game we're in in some games you might be able to just set it to 720 and it works however Diablo's running in windowed Metro 2033 runs in windowed so there's a lot of games that won't work properly that I've tested all right so now that we're on the desktop what you want to do is switch to 720p before you launch your game and then turn AMD rsr on now we can go back into Diablo and you'll see it's about to pop up here right there so it shows radon super resolution 720p to 1080 since the Ally is the 1080p display and we're running the game at 720 it will upscale if you have this plugged into an external Monitor and it's at 1440p or even 4K then you'll see 720 or whatever resolution you have in game set all the way up to your monitor's resolution up there so now that we're back in and we're at 720p with rsr on we can go ahead and hit alt R and I'll show you how to get this in your game and that's the menu I was talking about so we see upscale status active same thing we've got that resolution if you don't see this then it's not working even if you have the option enabled it's not doing anything another way to find out if it's working if you don't want to enable the overlay so if you take a look at the FPS up here we're at about 60 and pretty much every game I've tested there's a small performance hit using rsr so we're at 6162 now we'll go ahead and enable rsr there we go and now watch the FPS 56 55 and it should come back a little bit there we go 57 it might even go up a little bit more but yeah there we go see so you're losing FBS you're losing performance when this is enabled for it to be running and I'll show you I'll talk about right back off and we'll see It'll take a second it'll go back up to about 61.62. [Music] there we go all right so here we are on the desktop to enable the in-game overlay like you saw when we launched it so we know if it's working you want to click on this arrow down here then you should see AMD software a little red icon down here you can double click on that should open it up if that doesn't work then you can come to your start menu you want to type in AMD and then you can just click on AMD software to bring it up as well if you're not on this screen make sure you just click this gear icon and then right here we're going to click on preferences and right here in-game overlay so this is what's toggling that on and off so you get a little menu every time you start a game you can see if it's working and you're able to pull it up in game and then over here on Graphics we're able to see right here right on super resolution so we can go ahead and turn that on see the display flickered so go ahead and start this back up and then up in this top right corner should get a pop-up there we go so radon super resolution 720p to 1080. anyway guys I hope you enjoyed the video if you did and you got some value from it make sure to hit the like hit the sub Hub and I will see on the next one peace [Music] foreign [Music]
