welcome back guys so in this video I'll be testing multiple AAA games on my r l set1 extreme variant I'll be trying out amd's driver level implementation of frame generation that is ammf you can run it with any DirectX 11 or 12 title just need to run the game in full screen mode and make sure vsync is disabled for games that support borderless full screen mode need to enable one setting right click anywhere on your desktop then click on display settings scroll down and then click on Graphics then click on change default graphic setting make sure this toggle is enabled under optimizations for window games that's it also make sure vrr is enabled AMD recommends using it ammf will try to double the FPS so if your display supports up to 120 HZ refresh rate it is recommended to cap the in-game fps to 60 this is not a hard and fast Rule now for the best results you want the game to be running at at least 60 FPS otherwise latency will be an issue again this is not mandatory but just make sure in-game FPS does not drop below 50 ammf does come with a slight performance overhead you don't want to keep this setting enabl in all of the games in order to preserve the image quality ammf dynamically disables frame generation during fast visual motion I have observed this issue in many games we'll try to demonstrate this in the later part of the video This is why ammf is not recommended to be used with competitive games now in order to enable ammf on your R La you need to download the latest stable GPU drriver from AMD it's supports many radon gpus including LS Radion 780m I already shown the process of installing and uninstalling AMD gpus on L we'll drop the video link in the description this is the version of adrenaline that I'm using 24.11 now in order to get the true FPS with ammf enabl you need to use adrenaline's overlay third party overlays like after burner and army crates overlay won't work so just click on settings Cog here then click on preferences make sure this toggle is enabled next to ingame Overlay now click on performance here click on overlay and enable this toggle next to enable metrix overlay there's the overlay frame generation lag AF MF does add some input lab we can enable or disable it on the flag using the hotkey All shift andng okay so first I'll be running gtfi show you its per game profile I have enable rsr we'll be running the game at 900p resolution first I'll run the game without afml it toggle has been disabled anti-ag enabled vsync set to off free sync enabled I'll be using a 30 wats manual profile for all of the games all three power values have been set at 30 wats um size set to 6gb command center 900p resolution CPU boost disabled connected my D sense controll to La via Bluetooth mode graphic setting using direct 11 API 900p resolution refresh rate set to 120 HZ MSA set to two times in game basing disabled population density population variety and distance scaling set to 50% most of the settings have been set to very high reflection MSA disabled motion blood disabled inotropic filing set to eight times ambient occlusion set to high testation set to very high that's it start the game there's Franklin here we are getting around 55 FPS perfect scenario for enabling frame generation I'll just open enter L interface by pressing the all plus r keys show you the status of ammf RSI is working ammf enabled it is active you return to the game okay so now we are getting around 94 FPS prior to enabling the setting we are getting around 55 FPS 100 FPS frame generation lag 37 milliseconds check out the input response oh game is running so smoothly ammf is definitely working in this game I don't have a gun okay so now to attack need to press the zero key I'll just drive around check the Real Time Performance expect a few FPS drops stay close to Lama 70 FPS now FPS is back up to 96 you can even drop the resolution to 720p in order to improve performance get FPS Clos to 120 but I can definitely observe that extra smoothness with AFM so good results in this game now I'll be trying out the next one now I'll be running sakiro this game's FPS is capped at 60 I enable RSM I'll be running the game at 720p resolution free sync on first in the game without ammf anti- enabled racing set to off screen mode set to full screen 720p resolution I'm using the max preset I'll just disable motion blur start the game there's a character here we getting around 60 FPS now when I move the camera quickly I can observe some screen tearing right here in the middle you may not be able to observe it in the video I'm observing it again oh my God this guy attacked me now I'll just enable AF FMF press its hot key all shift and G ammf is active now when I move the camera quickly that screen tearing is almost gone the fake frames are helping in reducing the screen tearing game is running slightly smoother than before 120 FPS but when my begon when I move my character FPS suddenly drops from 120 to 100 so the experience is a bit inconsistent in this game 70 FPS frame generation gets dynamically disabled no screen tearing now and I move the camera slowly oh no I died so good results in this game could have been better I'll be testing the next game now I'll be running the steam version of horizon zero done first I'll run it without ammf disabled it RSI enable we'll be upscaling the the resolution from 720p to full HD vyn set to off resync enabled launch the game display settings 720p resolution not using any in-game upscaler display mode set to full screen refresh rate set to 120 HZ in game basing disable I'm using the favor quality preset start the game I'm in the market of gaja here we getting around 58 FPS playing as aloy here GPU usage is around 97% this area is very demanding lot of non-playable characters now I'll just enable ammf on the play press h hotkey all shift NG G ammf is active observe the FPS counter yeah FPS increased up to 96 I can observe the added amount of smoothness AF FMF is definitely working in this game not observing any graphical artifacts games heart elements are also not flickering check out the input response added amount of lab 35 milliseconds I've I've tested this sequence on my steam deck here FPS often drops on to as slow as 20 very variable now I'll be running fc24 We Run the game at 900p resolution RSI enable will upscale the resolution from 900p to full HD first I'll run the game without AF MF VNC disabled free reling set to on start the game in game settings 900p resolution display mode set to getting around 60 FPS Rock Solid performance going going gold and goalkeeper stopped it now I enable ammf press the hot key alt shift and G FMF is active now we are getting around 120 FPS yeah I can observe the smoothness extra smoothness so good to see FMF working in this game as well very popular title we're getting a stable performance FPS is staying around 120 in this game I have observed some Fame time stutters when the game transitions from game play to a cut scene I don't think ammf can fix this here we did not observe any sing so now I'll be trying out the next title now I'll be running rtion two RSI enable we have scale the resolution from 720p to full HD first I run the game without ammf anti- lag enable resn set two off free sync enable start the game this is the Rockstar Social Club version of the game in game settings 720p resolution make sure the game is running directx12 API refresh rate set to 120 screen Ty full screen in game vising disabled texture quality set my God check out the stunning visuals this is R Redemption to after all there's my house all right here FPS is around 60 G utilization is around 90% I'll just enable frame generation now via a FMF hot key ammf is active observe the FPS counter FPS increased up to 113 drop down to 90 I can observe the added amount of smoothness okay I'm observing some minor artifacts around Master's character model very difficult to observe can only observe the issue when I move the camera quickly like this and just roam around frame gen lag 34 MCS 120 FPS good results in this game heart is not flickering make sure you're not running the game in vulon mode otherwise ammf will not work time to kill someone oh no this guy was helping his horse he's still alive not anymore witness murder someone saw me committing the crime I need to kill this guy before he reports this to the police so now I'll be trying out the next game now I'll be running Resident Evil 4 we'll use RSI to upscale the resolution from 720p to full HD free sync enabled first I'll run the game without ammf anti-l enable V Sync disable start the game Graphics setting using the balance B set 720p resolution refresh set to 120 HZ frame rate set to variable display mode set to full screen in game we ing disabled cinematic resolution set to full HD rate racing and in-game UPS scalers disabled I load the Village Square area we'll be fighting against HS of villages and iconic sequence so many settings that's it start the game playing as Leon fighting against the villages that cop was burned alive FPS is around 44 running around the bonfire it's demanding okay let's enable ammf see what happens press the hot key ammf is active FPS increased up to 75 I can observe the added level of smoothness okay so the smooth smoothness is inconsistent again yeah ifp suddenly draw from 76 to 56 not the best implementation of ammf oh no it was a bear tra I got tra I need to be careful animation seems to be a bit jarring Dr Salvador is here he's angry I'll be just running around I can observe the sluggishness and again 46 FPS frame generation keeps getting disabled automatically oh my God got T Dr Salvador he is looking for us so in 55 to 60 FPS now I enable ammf using its hotkey moving the camera around okay FPS increased up to 100 but when I spint afms stops working F suddenly drop from 100 to 60 this is a problem in this game yeah I can observe the sluggishness when I move the camera quickly like this FPS dropped as well so not impressed by the implementation of ammf in cyberpunk 2077 in the end it's entirely up to you whether you want to use it or not 60 FPS let me just steal the vehicle for I need to kill the cops interface is not flickering we have seen the flickering of games interface when using FSR 3 frame generation mods not the case withf here we getting 90 FPS yeah game is running [Applause] smoothly FMF is still working and I'm driving the vehicle at high speeds it's just when I Sprint FMF gets disabled I'll be testing the next game I'll be running Spider-Man remastered again RSI enabled upscale the resolution from 720p to full HD free sync enabled first time Run the game without ammf anti-l motion BL nil there's a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man swinging around the city you're getting around 58 FPS game is already running smoothly on Ali Ali is that powerful so many non-playable characters here 51 to 60 FPS PC version of this game support tosense controller by default controllers adaptive triggers Feature work even when the game pad is connected to the device via Bluetooth mode I'll enable ammf press the hotkey FMF is active and you can see FPS is very variable 70 to 100 I can observe the sluggishness when I move the camera quickly again not impressed by the implementation of of FMF it gets disabled automatically FPS is dropping down to 47 and when I am stationary FPS increases up to 100 this is not a good experience sorry jarring image according to AMD ammf Tes this in order to preserve the image quality not sure what that means I'll be testing the next game FPS is not dropping down when I'm swinging around the city testing another game in which I observe inconsistent results balers Skate 3 RSI enable upscale the resolution from 720p to full HD free sync enable first run the game without AF MF anti- lag enable faing set to always off start the game laran launcher make sure you're running the DirectX 11 version of the game not wcon you can select the API from the launcher DirectX 11 play video settings 720p resolution refresh rate set to 120 HZ need to stop this guy from singing We Sing disabled not using any in game upscaler most of the settings are set to low I have set Shadow quality and texture quality to medium anding set to SMA most of the effects have been disabled Dynamic routes enabled St we loaded the lower City area this is the third Act of the game very demanding on the processor a crowd has gathered here FPS is around 39 yeah these magical effects are very demanding on the processor good area to test the game My Party 39 to 42 FPS 34 FPS here I enable AF FMF okay control switch to mouse and keyboard back to game pad FMF is working FPS increased up to 70 moving the camera still the game is running smoothly added lag 40 milliseconds this is not a first person shooter some amount of lag should not affect [Music] it observe the hitch FS only draw from 90 to 70 and again 53 FPS Inc inconsistent experience roaming around and again the FPS drop down to 60 can observe the slugg Ness now I'll be testing the next game last but not least we have Last of Us Part One RSI enabl we upscale the resolution from 720p to full HD free sync enable first I Lear the game without ammf anti- lag enable V Sync enable Bon disable start the game Steam version we are in iname settings 720p resolution not using any in-game upscaler VNC disabled disable motion play as well using the low preset start the game loaded to downtown outskirts area here we getting around 45 FPS hitting the GP bottleneck our companions there El very demanding title I'll just enable ammf using it hotkey it's active now observe the FPS counter when I'm stationary FPS is around 85 now I'll move the camera quickly yeah FPS dropped down to 41 I can observe the sluggishness again ammf is not working properly in this game actually it's working properly in this game but the experience is not ideal FMF gets disabled automatically whenever I move the camera quickly not impressed by it implementation yeah 42 FPS slugish game play I think it even reduces the game's performance game was running slightly better without ammf let me just disable it yeah definitely running better without FMF so that's it with the video guys I hope you find it
