welcome to vacuum Wars today we're going to compare two top of the line robot vacuums the roborock S7 Max V Ultra and the dreamtech l10s ultra we've put them both through an extensive amount of tests but today I also want to introduce a totally new test which I hope will help to change the way that robot vacuums are evaluated in the future so links in the description and let's get started the first category is features and these two robot vacuums have just about every feature that a robot vacuum can have they both have electric mop systems they both recognize carpets and can lift up their mopping pads so that you can vacuum and mop in the same run which is incredibly useful they both use lidar for mapping and navigation but they also both have front mounted obstacle avoidance sensors that help them to avoid objects that other robot vacuums Miss they both have Auto empty docks that not only evacuate their dust bends automatically but also wash their mop pads and refill their mop tanks I take into account a variety of other specs and features and at least on paper these two robot vacuums are very evenly matched though the roborock did have a slightly higher score here but just because of its slightly larger Dustbin for context though these two robot vacuums had the highest scores I've ever seen out of the 70 plus robot vacuums I've tested when it comes to Features moving on to the performance category this is where we test things like their power and pickup ability in the studio and again we found them to be fairly evenly matched they had nearly identical suction scores as well as similar airflow scores though the dream Tech had a bit more there on the crevice pickup test the roborock did much better than the dream Tech probably because of its new floating brush design that helps the brush conform to floors better and while they were both significantly above average with the carpet deep clean test where we see how good they are at picking up deeply embedded debris in carpets the dreamtek l10s did do better than the robo Rock there while I don't give them scores for their pickup ability I found them both to be great with picking up debris of all shapes and sizes on both hard floors and carpets though I did feel like the roborock was better with picking up fine debris on hard floors than the L10 though it was a minor difference though they use different methods to mop floors for example the dreamtech l10s uses a spinning brush system where the roborock uses a vibrating mop pad system I didn't find any significant differences in their mopping ability though there is one issue with the l10s that was negative but I'll talk about that in the next section but to conclude the performance category I have the roborock S7 Max V just beating out the dreamtech l10s 89 to 84. moving on to navigation which is part of the all new test system which I mentioned at the beginning the idea was to First standardize a floor plan at my house that will not change and can be recreated every time then after giving each Robot vacuum several test runs I give each of them three full runs in different conditions and different power settings which was results in a ton of data to analyze we then break that data down into six different scores and this is what we found they were both very similar in terms of efficiency meaning how many square meters per minute they could cover but speed isn't everything you also have to consider how much area they actually cleaned during that time and the roborock consistently covered two square meters more than the l-10s 33-31 in other words the robo Rock was more persistent and getting to harder to reach places than the l-10s without sacrificing much in terms of efficiency which is why it got a higher score here we now also do a battery life efficiency test which we do by making sure that each of their three runs are done using a different power setting low power max power and what I call best settings which in this case is their second to lowest power setting with the carpet boost on and here the dreamtek L10 was the winner and by a pretty good margin getting an average of 2.3 minutes per battery life percentage Point compared to 1.6 mins it's on the roborock I also standardized our obstacle avoidance tests for the first time here I did this by conducting four different categories of obstacle avoidance tests with the same objects and both robots did quite well though the roborock had a slightly better score than the dream Tech mostly because the dream Tech missed one of the smaller novelty pet waste in the test though it was able to recognize and avoid the others for the final category I'll combine miscellaneous issues and value one thing is that when I first bought the dreamtech l10s it did not seem to lift up its mopping pads when it encountered carpets so it was getting the carpets wet I sent it back to the manufacturer and they did send me a fixed unit that did raise its pads but it still wasn't nearly as good as the roborock at lifting up its mopping pad so I did negatively score it for that reason I also gave the robo Rock a negative score because it got stuck under my couch in the navigation test a couple times presumably because of its slightly higher profile though that could be fixed in the app using no-go lines I gave each of them negative scores to depending on their price and since the robo Rock was more expensive than the dream Tech it lost more points so after adding all of that up the winner of our competition today is the roborock S7 Max V 93-89 and while I'm still in the process of retesting all of my robot vacuums with this new system I can already tell that these two scores are going to be way above average so I think either of these robots would be a great buy but the robo Rock S7 Max V Ultra Still Remains the king in my opinion at least for now links in the description and be sure to subscribe to vacuum Wars before you leave thanks for watching thank you [Music]
