roblox responded to the drama...

so roblox has finally responded to the new terms of service changes that have happened to the roblox community if you weren't aware from the past two to three days the roblox community has been an uproar regarding the new terms of service changes i talked about it in a video recently yesterday and the impact that it's had has been quite ridiculous and we're going to talk about it more in this video alongside the new changes that have resulted because of the amount of community outro make sure to like this video since i need people to be updated on this sort of information it helped me out so brief recap of the last video roblox rolled out some new terms of service changes that had some really stupid rules inside of them this resulted in the roblox community going pretty much practically insane including some very large influencers getting involved after all this went down quackity for example a lot of you guys might know him actually went on to make a live stream to break as many roblox rules as they can because he even thought that the new terms of service was actually stupid the rules had stuff along the lines of no weddings inside of roblox no vpns no things of any natural disasters at all so a lot of very vague terms that really threw a lot of people off and concerned for the future of the roblox platform now though roblox has made some updates to the terms of service yet again to make sure that they clarify on this a lot more and some things have been changed which i'd like to talk about right now coming from my friends over at the rtc roblox twitter accounts news with roblox's last minute tos change last night here is what has changed in his okay and dandy giving away gift cards are okay having the same outfit as a youtuber is now okay vpns are okay and the rule has been updated thank the lord i already went over this in my previous video but like the fact that we couldn't have vpns to play roblox was a kind of a dumb rule but it was also very 50 50 because this is how people get around roblox bands however for someone like a streamer or something or a content creator like it just if you're not using a vpn it leaves you at risk to having like your ipv traced and all this other stuff it's not fun people should be allowed to have that security preference and the fact that it was even banned in the first place i had no idea how roblox thought they were even going to ever enforce that or how that would be detected but i mean it's now removed from the roblox rules entirely and vpns are now usable again the only time that a vpn is even remotely mentioned in the terms of service now is in rule number 27 of security and privacy where they say using a vpn to mask your location to gain unauthorized access to the platform a specific feature or another user's account or trying to do like a cyber attack or hacking somebody's account natural disaster survival will be okay you're only not allowed to recreate real events like for example creating a hurricane katrina survival game that's not allowed on roblox and i think that's pretty understandable for most people because we shouldn't have games based off of like actual real world tragedies i feel like it's disrespectful to any victim of an actual real world tragedy but a fictional game like natural disaster survival does not have a problem on roblox and that is something that was clarified on they state that hand-holding is okay now but i'm still seeing in number 11 that animations of hand-holding or kissing or anything in a romantic context is against the rules so that part is still banned however just general handholding you know is not going to get you banned you know god forbid you hold somebody's hand on roblox and you get your account deleted for it right using the trademark roblox logo and in your youtube titles is okay now and a couple of other changes to the terms of service have also been updated that were not named on the specific thread so it seems like roblox took into accountability the absolutely massive backlash of the terms of service but you know what's funny is that this whole thing has gotten everybody to unironically read the terms of service it's something you never actually usually read when you agreed to something but you know now everybody knows the roblox terms of service now at this point we don't forget it but yeah that's basically the good news that came out from this you know roblox didn't just sit there and do nothing did they put action towards what people were complaining about clarified a lot more on certain things that aren't making people concerned and also um i believe giving away robux and gift card form is also okay now it's just you're not allowed to give away robux in other forms which was already a bannable offense to begin with you know you can't give somebody group funds or anything like that you can only give out roblox gift cards if you're gonna give something away otherwise it's just it's a problem it's a rule breach on roblox obviously it doesn't apply if you're like paying somebody for a work like you could pay someone through your group funds if they work on your roblox game or something that's a much different scenario but i'm talking about if like somebody's giving something away on twitter or something basically there's also some other terms of service changes that you can clearly see like um rule number nine yesterday was physically dangerous activity saying roblox has not allowed a depiction glorification or encouragement of activities specifically designed to create an extreme risk of physical harm to the participants this really got people concerned about games like broken bones which the whole premise of broken bones on roblox is literally to jump off of cliffs and break your bones the concern did not just spread to broken bones it spread to really any roblox game that had any sort of in quotation violent or physically dangerous activity so the game that you're watching in the background arsenal has shooting in it hypothetically that could fall under that rule if you really wanted it to or anything else that had a dangerous activity or a stunt now roblox has clarified on this specifically and they've renamed it to real world physically dangerous activities saying that they do not like the encouragement of real-world activities that specifically create extreme harm to the participant offline so now broken bones on any of your favorite stunt games on roblox really does not have much of a risk of getting deleted from roblox and that rule was clarified on to make sure that this would no longer confuse people and there's a lot of other stuff that was changed too but we basically went over the most important stuff in this video that was really concerning youtubers and players alike um i personally did not think even if roblox kept these rules that they would enforce them to the extent that they were going to i really think they were just trying to clarify in their terms of service to be broader but ended up making it so vague that it concerned a lot of people and roblox then saw all the backlash that was happening online you know you had cree craft me um quackity a bunch of other influencers talking about this and they got a lot of heat for it and due to that they ended up changing or at least rephrasing exactly what they were going for in the brand new update that came out today through these terms of service guidelines honestly there's not really much of a problem anymore the issue has been resolved and fixed as of now and you can go back to playing roblox and not really worrying about this type of stuff anymore now you just know the terms of service fully like everybody else does like it's kind of funny it's an elaborative scheme that got us all to know the terms of service of roblox something we usually never read but it was a pretty straight-up wild situation i think we can all agree of that right like roblox was trending on twitter um you had several content creators come out in support of the roblox community saying that the rule changes were dumb i haven't seen something like this in a while it was pretty interesting to see really and i i would love to know all of your opinions down below in the comments section regarding all of this um but as always feel free to let me know
