Ripped off by Dealer | Buy here pay here special! Ford Escape Hybrid Electric

here we go 2009 ford escape hybrid version fresh off the buy here pay here a lot still nice and detailed and shiny from when they cleaned it up customer states that the tire pressure warning indicator on the dash is flashing and they bought it with this light flashing where's the keys be right back finally okay somebody's got to be messing with me car is over here the keys are over there in the key box and someone gives me the car i i'm being messed with right now anyway uh back to the task at hand oh it doesn't start yeah because it's a hybrid and they don't have engines that work okay tire pressure warning indicator is flashing okay it starts that time all right he's still flashing let's uh bust out the tpms warning tool or the uh tpms reprogramming tool and see which of these sensors uh is not transfer fun fact i hear pay here a lot also states that it just needs air pressure from sitting on their lot for so long so let's scan these mofos see what happens here scanning scanning still scanning it's going to reject it any second now it's not picking up a signal uh-oh engine guide just kidding hybrid mode i'll be back when this is done and 30 seconds later it's still trying to find a signal 30 seconds later no signal detected this uh this scan has been rejected by the scan tool let's uh move over to the next one check that scanning now [Music] i'll check back in when it uh when it picks it up okay i lied it didn't pick it up another rejected sensor uh no signal being transmitted i'm gonna go ahead and bet that this one does not transmit either let's find out waiting waiting still waiting rejected okay a fourth time is a charm right that's what they say just made that up next let's get all the way up in there rejected okay it has picked up zero signals from all four sensors so this means one of two things uh first thing it can mean is all four sensors are broken or have dead batteries uh second thing it could mean is that all four sensors are not installed in the in the wheels yeah actually there's more the third thing it could mean is that the wheels have been replaced with wheels from a different ford escape and the frequency on those sensors does not match the capability for this vehicle to recognize them actually that's completely false because it should my machine still should pick up a radio signal out of those sensors if they were in fact transmitting so that third part was just a complete lie and i was wrong anyway let's throw the scan tool on it and see what the trouble code says now while i do the code scan on this i will answer the question that i'm sure many of you are asking and that question is ray how do you know this is straight off the buy here pay here lot i know that because this is a older escape therefore it was not sold from a newer lot it still has the temporary tag and on top of that the customer told us so well look we have trouble codes that are pending yep an egr flow code let's see what else is in this thing see no there's a battery control module code i don't recognize that one must be a hybrid thing um tire pressure monitor sensor fault oh yeah a couple of those at least two you know two different codes for that let's say let's go into this and see what's going on switch ignition off okay sure i don't know why it told me to do that but okay the graph of what everybody else did said uh replace the sensor well um i'm not gonna do what everybody else did i'm going to tell them we need to pull the the wheels off and visually remove the key so that dinging stops we need to pull the wheels off and see if there are a sensors installed and if there are sensors installed we need to verify that they are be the correct ones or see replace them because none of them are working so i'm going to go report to my consumer what i found here and i will let you guys know in just a moment all right i'm thrilled time to do some tire work oh let's move this thing uh forward get it on the lift where's my keys in my pocket then we will jack it up in the air engine running now [Music] but it'll move the electrical pet now maybe i didn't start it enough there we go [Music] and we're gonna pull these tires off and inspect the interior to see what's up with these sensors [Music] [Applause] oh yeah this is by here pay here all day look we had time to spray paint the brake calipers and pads and rotor and i bet you they spray painted the actual friction surface of the rotor but we we don't have two dollars for a missing lug nut yepper guaranteed approval every time okay let's go start with the wheel that we know has a problem one missing the lug nut oh yeah the rattle can repair is strong with this company that's great and i'm not even kidding i mean look at that there's spray paint everywhere all of this has been spray painted all the suspension has been spray painted all the rust has been spray painted man this lady got ripped off and these people even suck at spray paint look at all this uh all these runs in the paint right here they did a bad job the right rear isn't looking much better oh man look at that there's holes in it there's holes in the body that they have spray painted this thing must have come from canaderp and they traded it in nice spray painted rust protected muffler this is good not oh wow do not buy cars from buy here pay here lots this is what you get oh look at that this is like structural where it used to be supposed to be look at that i know i'm ruining the paint job i know this is also a weight reduction mod yeah that's a pinch weld right there this is um this is not good this is not good at all this car displeases me and without pulling the wheel off the left front we see more spray paint action it's probably not even high temp it's probably just rust-oleum from walmart oh man okay well this is not the task at hand i'm not doing a post-purchase inspection i'm doing a post purchase figure out why the tire pressure light won't turn off and uh we have four sensors that were just delivered so i'm going to install these and program these and i don't know i don't even know what to do about the rest of this all right no more screwing around time to get to work let's get this tire off of here and see what kind of sensors lie inside of it if there are any at all [Music] okay let's see what we've got in here does it have a sensor or does it not i'm sure does okay well let's take these guys out and put new ones in okay due to the fact that we're replacing these with new units including the valve stems i don't have to be very nice during the removal process so i'll do this uh destructively and violently okay new sensor you gotta lube the shaft very graciously there we go maybe i should have said liberally yeah you have to liberally apply lubricant to the shaft one of the very few times i would use that word it's not my favorite word it seems wasteful [Music] oh yeah okay this has got to happen quickly release okay now that we have seen one of these there's really no reason to bore the crap out of you by recording the other three not just you guys boring me too yeah shut up [Music] [Music] oh yeah i forgot the plus one i had a new lug nut get delivered plus one done torque wrench time escape going down insert commentary from peter it's difficult and elevated it's growing on so many levels words of wisdom for the sake of time i'm not going to show it but the torque wrench clicks have been initialized on all four corners let's pull the rack out and uh program these mofos fail yeah this one's broken thing that's a finger smasher all day okay tire pressure monitoring device let's do this let's try it again is it gonna work no sensors are not awake yet i have to move the car okay let's hop in and go drive somewhere driving it's not much better look how sideways the steering wheel is time to reprogram this sensor is it's going to work spinning scanning scanning come on yeah next scanning scan number three scanning we're gonna win okay one more nice all sensors are triggered okay let's go to program copy by activation use these ids yes all right guys so here's the deal really sorry i screwed up the end of this video the gopro died and i missed out on the reprogramming and uh in the sign off scene for this ford escape um i feel like crap and my initial thought was to just not even you know edit and make this video however i think it was really good i got some cool camera angles and uh you know i i thought i did a good job so i wanted to post the video anyway so if you're very upset and disgruntled with me for screwing up the end of that i apologize um the only thing i can do at this point is to make it up to you by way of issuing a challenge and that challenge is going to be a subscriber challenge that uh actually only seeks to benefit me um i'm brutally honest so uh i figured out you know i'll give it a shot see if it sticks that being said what the challenge is is i would
