welcome to our slash I don't work here lady where we share stories about folks that go into other businesses and have irate customers mistake them for employees and the first story is lady screams at me because of a price tag when I don't even work there so the cast is Karen me employee manager this took place not long ago 2018 and at the local shopping mall in Aurora where I am from I had the day off so I thought I'd go get myself some discounted jeans and maybe some shoes I go into the mall and get myself some lunch before I go shopping nothing big just some Burger King since the line was shorter I get my food eat then head to the shop I wanted to go to I find the pants I wanted and headed to the dressing room to try them on I ended up picking out many shirts along the way when I got to the dressing room I tried on the jeans and picked a shirt that looked the best on me when I stepped out of the dressing room hangers in hand I headed out to put the shirts I didn't want back nicest thing you can do for a store worker is to put your items back and made my way to the checkout counter a woman stepped in front of me before I was inside of the checkout area Karen can you tell me the price of these shirts this Karen wasn't like the target one she had the hair but it was bright pink like she was hoping it would make her look younger me the price should be on the tag Karen there isn't one so I'm asking me then go ask an employee I'm trying to shop Karen no you're not I saw you put items on the rack what's the price of these jeans me you do know I don't work here right Karen tell me the price I rolled my eyes me fine they're on sale for $5.00 for 10 Karen finally thanks for wasting my time she then left I rolled my eyes and kept walking hoping the Karen will notice I was clearly lying everything was 30% off and I saw her grab 20 shirts at 16 dollars each I got to the checkout item and went to pay for my new jeans and shirt thinking of the sale Payless was having long before it's closing that's when I hear it Karen I don't believe you it's not that much I turn to the register three lanes from me and saw the Karen screaming at the employee I got a good look at the total and smirked I told her the shirt she wanted were five dollars for ten and she grabbed 20 shirts sixteen dollars she didn't even bother to see if I was lying or not her total was around three hundred and fifty dollars maybe three hundred and seventy dollars my eyesight isn't as good as it used to be but it was over three hundred dollars Karen these are on sale on sale employee yes they are they're on sale for sixteen dollars each Karen no I was told they're five dollars for ten employee who told you that she saw me and pointed Karen her I raised my brow acting like I had zero clue what was happening me sorry I think you have me confused for someone else I don't work here lady Karen you told me they were cheap employee ma'am if you're not gonna pay then we will be putting these items back Karen you will do no such thing I paid for my items and left the checkout area but hid around the corner to watch manager ma'am if you're not gonna pay for these items and I must ask you to leave you're holding up the line Karen I'm not paying that much for these shirts they're on sale manager yes they are the total would have been four hundred and fifty dollars if you're not gonna pay then you must leave now I smirked and left the store and headed to pay less hearing Karen screaming as she was dragged out by security was very satisfying I bought some nice sneakers and went home it was a fun day the second story is fine but you're stealing their jobs I love Target I'm also a stress eater who happens to be waiting on results of a biopsy see where this is going so I'm wandering down the candy aisle wearing a green floral dress in a yellow cardigan you know nothing at all even vaguely resembling a Target employee uniform I've already grabbed a package of marshmallow moon Oreos and a box of Froot Loops and I'm seeking to round things out with some Twizzlers old a Karen is blocking the area with her cart as she yells into an ancient artifact of a flip phone about what Billy likes and how no it can't be the harrybo bears she'd remember the gold package I see the Twizzlers but alas they are physically out of my reach behind the barricade of good old Karen's cart excuse me I say politely pointing at my quarry could you please move your cart Karen's grandma waves me off as if I were in that okay I'm annoyed I just want to grab my rare junkpile treat and go home to watch Gilmore Girls and forget about the potential nightmare growing in my guts I'm not exactly a large woman so I and fit in between the red plastic trademark cart and just grab my candy wrong is it the neon worms then proto Karen Bray's as she actually effing hip checks me sort of side scooting her cart closer to the candy rack and knocking loose several items in the process excuse me she dramatizes into her phone some bee employee with nothing better to do feels like harassing me she wraps her cloven fists around the lower half of her phone and leans towards me dramatically move along now she scolds with sarcastic sweetness I'm a customer cust um her go sweep up the back or something then she sees my expression I have RBF at the best of times seriously you should see me in those pictures they snap on rollercoasters so when it's time for the actual bee to come out your girls ready move I say quietly but with a definite air of menace Karen snap shudder phone trying to match my fury but succeeding only in looking like one of those shriveled old Apple dolls people force their children to make I'll have your job for this just you wait I don't work here I go to push her D card out of the way but she Yanks it first causing a bunch of stuff she'd not lose to tumble to the ground I don't know why you need to stock things now you could have waited until the paying customers were done here now look at the mess you have to deal with she chuckles at this as if I'm a child who has just gotten a taste of the cocoa powder I'd been begging for are you crazy or just stupid I asked her setting down my cookies in cereal to pick up a handful of Ferrero Rocher and go dive of boxes it's not like she was going to clean up after herself I'll have you know the manager of this store and I are good friends he really will fire you the manager is a lovely woman I've spoken too often she wouldn't fire anyone on a Karen's say-so what part of I don't work here are you failing to understand finally Karen the elder seems to realize that I'm not wearing red or a nametag or anything else that would indicate that I work for Target not that I'd turned down the employee discount if you're not an employee why are you cleaning up like one because I try to be a decent person Karen doesn't know how to react to that I like to think it's because the idea of being a decent human being is an entirely foreign concept to her she stands there for a moment watching me face a shelf she herself demolished clutching her phone like an amulet after a brief pause she snaps to and matches away her cart vacating the candy aisle but not before zinging me with this whopper get it candy humor fine but you're stealing their jobs the third story is my black uniform must mean I work at Target backstory before I get into it I work at a movie theater that has our uniforms be black from head to toe black shoes black shirt and black pants with a black belt anyway the cast is the following karen is the crazy lady me as myself teehee as target employee and TM is target manager last week I got off work pretty early thanks to my replacement showing up 10 minutes early on his own will I needed a new bra so I took a two-minute drive to the closest target before heading home if you haven't shopped at Target I should let you know their uniforms are red shirts with a name tag not black I got in the target with my Bluetooth headphones on and went to the bra section I found one I really liked and even tried it on I decided to look for some jeans as well and was browsing when I felt someone tapped my shoulder I turned my music off and looked over there she was the Karen Karen I have been trying to get your attention for 10 minutes me okay what do you want she huffed as if I was being rude Karen I want to try on these shirts she had about 10 shirts in hand me okay go on ahead I'm not gonna stop you Karen give me a dressing room I must add the dressing room was sit around the corner and she was more than able to get her own dressing room me no I don't think I will for there isn't one on this side the other side has one Karen you work here so give me a dressing room me I don't work here I'm in black Karen you have a nametag I looked and lo and behold I was still wearing my movie theaters nametag that displayed my company name on it not target I remove the nametag and put it in my pocket and continued my shopping that's when it happened Karen grabbed my movie theater work jacket and pulled as hard as her middle-aged arm could onto the ground I fell pretty hard and hit my head on a clothing stand target employee rushes over and was able to remove Karen from me target employee ma'am you can't just attack someone like that Karen she was ignoring me my headphones were removed from my ears so I could hear and I looked at the employee and asked her if my head was bleeding thank God it wasn't target manager came and called to purity when target employee told him what she had seen the Karen was taken away from security and I was given the chance to cool off in their employee break room with Target employee I did get my bra in jeans and I also treated myself to some Starbucks target manager let the in-store Starbucks to give me some kind of discount for what happened it was a weird day update since some of you asked the target did call the cops on the lady and filed adult charges not on me since I wasn't that much of a pain to want to press charges but the Karen had kicked the target manager in the nuts and attempted to steal the shirt she wanted to try on last I heard she was serving three months in jail and has been blacklisted from all targets in my country thanks for listening bye
