the book of Revelation let's join Jimmy as he shares from this mosaic of Bible prophecy hi I'm Jimmy DeYoung welcome to our video study of the book of Revelation it's the last book in the Bible it's the mosaic of Bible prophecy and it's a book that speaks to us of the end times what an appropriate place to study the book of Revelation I'm standing here on the Mount of Olives one day 2,000 years ago Jesus Christ ascended into the heavenlies the Bible tells us that those two men standing watching the disciples look at Jesus as they gazed into the heavenlies said why stand you here lookey someday he shall return to this same spot and then there's the eastern gate Jesus Christ will walk across the Kidron Valley up through that eastern gate and go into the temple not the Dome of the rock where that gold dome building is will stand the next temple the one that Jesus Christ will build well that's what we're gonna be talking about in this hour together as we study the book of Revelation the book of Revelation was written by the Apostle John in 95 ad while he was under house arrest on an island in the Aegean Sea the Isle of Patmos off the coast of Asia Minor 2,000 years ago what would be modern-day Turkey today John was given this message basically God giving the revelation to Jesus Christ Jesus Christ giving that to the angel and then dispatching the angel to John the Apostle to reveal how everything would unfold in the end times the book of Revelation is apocalyptic literature there are four a puck elliptic books in the Bible the book of Daniel Ezekiel the book of Zechariah and the book of Revelation apocalyptic literature will actually take a symbol within the context of the message and use that as a way of communicating an absolute truth as we study through the book of Revelation we'll come to an understanding that the way you interpret this symbol is by additional apocalyptic literature this is going to be a study that will bring all the puzzle parts together I mentioned the book of Revelation is the mosaic a Bible prophecy there's some 17 prophetic books in the Old Testament and four or five books in the New Testament that contain a lot of Biblical prophecy all of these puzzle parts will come together in the book of Revelation it is bringing to conclusion history and then taking us into eternity future as we begin our study on the book of Revelation I've erected three pillars here columns that will assist us in understanding the three main events in the future this representing the next main event in God's calendar of activities would be the rapture of the church there's a seven-year period between the rapture of the church and the next event which is the revelation of Jesus Christ when he comes out of the heavenlies back here to this spot the Mount of Olives the thousand year millennial kingdom concluding with the retribution that is the great white throne judgment the Apostle Paul goes into further details about what Jesus Christ had to say in the upper room in John chapter 14 when he said let not your heart be troubled you believe in God believe also in me and my father's house are many mansions if it were not so I would have told you I go to prepare a place for you now listen and if I go I shall come again and receive you unto myself that where I am there you may be also there in that Upper Room before his crucifixion Jesus Christ referred to the rapture of the church the Apostle Paul extends that study first Thessalonians chapter 4 verses 13 to 18 where he says Jesus will shout the Archangel shaft and the Trump of God shall call us and we'll be caught up to be with him in the air the rapture of the church the next main event in God's calendar of activities then there will be a seven-year period of time between the rapture and the next main event the revelation this seven-year period of time is described in the book of Revelation chapters 4 verse 2 foo 19 verse 11 15 chapters of detailed information about the events that unfold during this seven year Tribulation Period the revelation is spoken of in the book of Revelation chapter 19 verses 11 to 21 this in combination with the book of Zechariah chapter 14 tells us that Jesus will come out of the heavenlies back here to the Mount of Olives you'll have a period of time when he will build the temple on the Temple Mount messiahs temple as detailed in the Book of Ezekiel chapters 40 to 46 after that he goes to the Jezreel Valley the activities there of the Battle of Armageddon he speaks and all of the armies of the world will be cast dead there on the battlefield in the valley of the mountains he will go to Petra gather in the Jewish survivors bring them here then to the Mount of Olives crossing the Kidron Valley going up through the eastern gate and then into the temple that he will have built that will then help us to enter into the thousand year millennial kingdom the thousand year millennial kingdom spoken of in the book of Revelation chapter 20 verses four five and six Jesus Christ with us will rule and reign for that thousand year period of time and then the last of the three main events in God's calendar of activities the retribution are the great white throne judgment the great white throne judgment is spoken of in the book of Revelation chapter 20 verses 11 to 15 Jesus Christ the judge will judge those who have rejected him while they were alive here on earth that's not a judgment to determine lost or saved that decision will already have been made Jesus Christ will sentence them then to eternal damnation in the lake of fire and then eternity future new heaven new earth and new jerusalem the three main events that takes us through the book of Revelation we'll go back and walk through the book of Revelation and help you to better understand all of the events that unfold during this period of time yet in the future the book of Revelation does not unfold numerically chapters 1 through 22 but instead it unfolds chronologically I'm going to do a walk through the book of Revelation now that will help you see how chronologically the book unfolds before we start them let me remind you of our three main events in the future the rapture of the church and then we have the revelation of Jesus Christ after the seven year Tribulation Period the thousand year millennial kingdom and then the retribution the great white throne judgment the walk through the book of Revelation actually begins over here before the rapture of the church which is exactly what the book of Revelation does in chapters one two and three it's prior to the rapture and the Christians being caught up to be with him in the air the book of Revelation presents Jesus Christ in three areas his person his power and his program now notice I'm gonna use some hand motions to help us remember the chronological unfolding of the book of Revelation in Chapter one of the book of Revelation we see Jesus Christ in his person and in his power in chapters 2 and 3 we see Jesus Christ writing a letter to seven churches seven churches were alive when John wrote a book in 95 ad seven churches been live throughout church history seven churches that are alive today I'll notice I'll start moving through the main events in the future so I move here to the rapture the church in Chapter four we see Jesus Christ shout the Archangel shouts the Trump of God sounds and we are caught up to be with him in the air the rapture of the church in chapter 5 of the book of Revelation we see ten thousand times ten thousand angels plus thousands and thousands of additional angels singing worthy is the Lamb that's chapter five verse 12 to be exact in Chapter six we see the beginning of three sets of seven judgments there will be seven sealed judgments seven trumpet judgments and 7 vinyl judgment and this is me pouring out from a vial seven vial judgments in the first three and a half sea and a half in the first three and a half years of the tribulation period the seven seals judgments take place also in the first three and a half years there will be two witnesses that will preach and a hundred and forty-four thousand maybe that was backward a hundred and forty-four thousand will be born again that's twelve thousand I only have ten figures so eleven twelve twelve thousand of the twelve tribes of Israel at the end of three and a half years these two witnesses will be killed and they'll lay in the streets of Jerusalem for three and a half days at which time they will be resurrected and then enter into the heavenlies also at the end of three and a half years there's gonna be a fight in the heavenlies you'll have to imagine now between the angel this is an angel supposedly between the angel Michael and Satan across my arms this would be Satan at that time Satan will be cast out of the heavenlies never there any of the heavenlies again in the last three and a half years of the tribulation period the seven trumpet judgments will take place on the seven violence will take place coming Annie with the Kings coming out of the east to join the Antichrist to fight the Battle of Armageddon at that time now notice I moved to the second of the main events in the future that time Jesus Christ will get on his white horse will get on our white horses coming out of the heavenlies back here to the earth and then he will bind Satan for 1,000 years will rule and reign with Jesus Christ for that 1000 year period of time at the end of the thousand years Satan to be loosed for CSUN captured again by God then I move to the last of the main events and the great white throne judgment will take place at which time Jesus Christ will be the judge he'll send us all of those who have rejected him whose name was not written in the book of life into the lake of fire which is the second death then eternity future new heaven new earth and new Jerusalem that's a walk through the Book of Revelation now that we have the walk through the book of Revelation all at one time and you have the overall big picture of how this exciting book is going to unfold let me go back through that walk through one more time we'll be switching to different locations to give us more in-depth understanding of this very important book the book that includes all of history and takes us into eternity future again let me remind you the book of Revelation was in Ch Jesus Christ in three areas his person his power and his program in Chapter one of the book of Revelation we see Jesus Christ in his person and in his power we're watching the people walk down the traditional pathway that Jesus Christ would have taken the day of his triumphal entry when he entered the city of Jerusalem at the beginning of Passion Week it was the conclusion of three and a half years of ministry and the person and power of Jesus Christ had been presented to all of those to test and see if indeed he was truly the Messiah well we come now to the book of Revelation chapter 1 and the person and power of Jesus Christ there's a description of the person of Jesus Christ in Chapter 1 and verse 12 John says and I turned to see the voice of he that spake with me and being turned I saw seven golden candlesticks I told you this is apocalyptic literature and you interpret apocalyptic literature with additional apocalyptic literature there the seven golden candlesticks and then verse 16 and in his right hand seven stars I look with me if you will to verse 20 the mystery of the Seven Stars which thou sawest in my right hand with seven golden candlesticks the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches and so he's there on the Isle of Patmos and in the midst of this vision of the seven churches John sees the glorified resurrected Jesus Christ here's a description in verse 14 Ted in his hair were white like wool as white as snow depicting his purity his longevity Jesus comes from eternity pass he continues through eternity future he never had a beginning he doesn't have an ending and his eyes were as a flame of fire the Bible says Jesus can see all everything that goes on anytime and at all times in verse 15 and his feet like unto fine brass as if they'd been burned in the furnace that depicts Jesus Christ coming as the judge the brass burned in the furnace indicating the purity is given to that burned brass so that it could be used for his glory and his voice is the sound of many waters a description of the voice of Jesus Christ that voice that spoke the world into existence that voice that will shout and call us to be with him that voice that will say well done my good and faithful servant but that same voice that will say sorry I never knew you depart from me into everlasting hell and damnation as we continue in verse 16 and in his right hand the seven stars those would be the angels of the seven churches and out of his mouth went a sharp two-edged sword the Word of God sharper than any two-edged sword and his countenance or his face was as the Sun Shine a--the in his strength and I saw him and I fell at his feet as dead he laid his right hand upon men he said unto me fear not for I am the first and the last I am he that liveth and was dead and behold I am Alive for evermore amen and I have the keys of hell and of death chapter 1 verse 18 the cornerstone of our faith the testimony of Jesus Christ I am he that was alive and dead and have come back to life again a resurrected Jesus Christ his person and his power in chapters 2 & 3 of the book of Revelation we see Jesus Christ writing a letter to seven churches seven churches that were alive in 95 AD when John wrote the book seven churches that have been alive throughout church history and seven churches that are alive today this is Christ Church just inside the Jaffa Gate here in the old city of Jerusalem actually it's the oldest Protestant Church in the Middle East erected right here at this location in 1850 it reminds us as we walk through the book of Revelation of the letters to the seven churches of Asia Minor Jesus Christ gave the angel these messages unless the angel passed it along to John the Apostle and John then would deliver the letters to the seven churches in fact the Bible tells us that there was an angel of each of the Church in chapter two and verse one unto the Angel of the church at Ephesus and then in verse eight unto the Angel of the church at Smyrna and it goes on through the church at Sardis the church at Thyatira the church at Philadelphia the church at Laodicea John had either established these churches are actually had ministered in them before he was in prison on the Isle of Patmos around 95 AD there's a similarity between all seven of the church messages the letters to the seven churches and one of the interesting things to note is that each of them says and into him who is an overcomer first John describes and defines an overcomer as one who has trusted in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior to him that is an overcomer to the church at Ephesus you should be able to either the Tree of Life forever to the church at sardis you'll be able to have this blessing from Jesus Christ one of the church messages says your name will not be blotted out of the book of life but you'll rule and reign with Jesus Christ these letters were delivered to the seven churches and they described churches that were alive in 95 AD some have even suggested that they may well scrunt describe the periods of church history since john received this message this revelation from Jesus Christ but definitely the description of those seven churches would describe churches alive and well on planet Earth today I'm not saying the church at Ephesus the Church of Philadelphia the church at Laodicea but maybe it's that Baptist Church just down the road from where you live or that Methodist Church or the Lutheran Church these descriptions of these seven churches describe churches alive today here on earth you receive a blessing by reading the book of Revelation but in particular as you studied these messages that Jesus Christ wrote to us the last words of Christ to the church here on earth today the letters to the seven churches found in the book of Revelation chapters two and three now we start to move through the three main events in the future we come first to the rapture of the church depicted by this column in chapter 4 verses 1 & 2 we see the rapture of the church depicted first thessalonians tells us that Jesus Christ will shout the Archangel will shout the Trump of God will sound and we shall be caught up with him at the rapture of the church there to the peak of the Mount of Olives where you see that high steeple church that is the Russian Orthodox Church the traditional site for the Ascension of Jesus Christ into the heavens the clouds came down and gathered him up and has he went into heaven his disciples look steadfastly towards the heavenlies two men in white apparel standing beside them said why Stan you here gazing into heaven as he has gone so he shall come one day well that of course was speaking of a second coming of Jesus Christ but seven years prior to his second coming back to the Mount of Olives the rapture of the church will take place now we come to chapter four of the book of Revelation verses 1 and 2 which depicts the rapture of the church after this I looked and behold a door was open in heaven and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me which said come up hither may well be what Jesus Christ shouts when the rapture takes place come up hither and I will show thee things which must be Hereafter verse 2 and immediately I was in the spirit of a hold a throne was set in heaven Revelation chapter 1 verses 1 and 2 depicting the rapture of the church first thessalonians tells us Jesus was shout the Archangel will shout the trouble God will sound and we will be caught up to be with him in the heavenlies never to leave his presence forever and ever and ever the rapture of the church the next event on God's calendar of activities after the rapture of the church we moved into the seven-year tribulation period and we see the beginning of three sets of seven judgments the seventh seal judgments the seven trumpet judgments and the seven vile judgments in the first three and a half years of the Tribulation Period the seven sealed judgments take place and the first of those sealed judgments book of Revelation chapter 6 verses 1 & 2 will be that judgment the appearance of Antichrist this is an area here on the Mount of Olives known as the Peace Garden so very wealthy people had the garden planted in anticipation of a coming peace when the Prince of Peace the Messiah Jesus Christ would come back and establish his thousand year millennial kingdom a period of peace here on earth prior to that time however there will be a pseudo peace that will be established by the counterpart to Jesus Christ the pseudo Christ are the false prophet the false messiah the Antichrist as we come to the first sealed judgment found in chapter 6 of the book of Revelation and verse 1 we read of how he is revealed and I saw when the lamb opened one of the seals the lamb being the person of Jesus Christ he opened the seal and I heard as it were the noise of thunder one of the four beasts saying come and see and I saw and behold a white horse and he that sat on him had a bow and a crown was given unto him and he went forth conquering and to conquer the Antichrist many will say well that must be Jesus Christ he's the one that comes on a white horse and you're correct but Jesus Christ comes on a white horse at the end of the seven years tribulation the end of the judgment upon the earth this is the beginning of the seven years of tribulation the time of Jacob's trouble and this first seal is the appearance of Antichrist the false prophet Daniel the prophet tells us that after the rapture of the church the revived Roman Empire must come to power at's daniel chapter 7 that's the ten horns of daniel 7 and then the little horn which is one of 27 names for the Antichrist he comes to power and then he will confirm a covenant with the Jewish people here in Israel for the seven year period of time actually that starts the clock ticking on that seven-year tribulation over in chapter 13 of the book of Revelation we read more about the Antichrist and it confirms he comes out of the revived Roman Empire he is wounded as it were to the death that phrase as it were used 52 times in the book of Revelation and what it means is it seems to be but not really is in other words the Antichrist never dies he's wounded and then the text tells us that Satan has miraculous powers to heal the Antichrist he comes to power he rules and reigns over a one-world Church and then a one-world economic political system during the seven-year tribulation period the first seal the Antichrist as we look at the book of Revelation chronologically instead of numerically we see that what comes next is Revelation chapter 17 revelation 17 tells us the information we need to know about a one-world false church in the future this is the Church of the Holy Sepulchre built in the 300s the 4th century by Halina who his mother of Constantine it's one of the many churches found here in the Christian quarter the old city of jerusalem it speaks to us of a time when there will be a worldwide church the Worldwide Church under the leadership of the Antichrist we come to the 17th chapter now of the book of Revelation which describes a three and a half year period of time at three and a half years when the Antichrist the rule over in the city of Rome a one-world Church Bible tells us in the 17th chapter that this church was originally established in Babylon Babylon the mother of all harlot churches the mother-son cult mother-son cult that from the time of its establishment some 4,000 years ago until the time of the fault of the Babylonian Empire in 539 BC this false church was headquartered in the city of Babylon with the fall of the Babylonian Empire the church headquarters this mother-son cult moved to Pergamus one of the seven churches in Asia Minor and there it stood until the fall of the Roman Empire and then that church that mother-son cult that false church which will one day be ruled over by the Antichrist has actually moved to a seven field city chapter 17 and verse 9 says a seven hills City will be the headquarters of this one world false church in Chapter 17 you see the word whore used three times you see the word woman used six times referring to an unvirtuous woman the Bible tells us and this is symbolic literature this is apocalyptic literature where the writer would use a symbol to convey an absolute truth Bible tells us that we true believers in Jesus Christ are the Bride of Christ the opposite of a pure virtuous virgin bride is a false church that first three and a half years of the tribulation period will have as its headquarters the Seven Hills city of Rome false church will be in operation and the Antichrist will control that church at the end of three and a half years the revived Roman Empire talked about in verse 16 of chapter seventeen will rise up and destroy this false church interestingly chapter 17 verse 17 says that God will use world leaders to accomplish his will it's at that time that the Antichrist will leave Rome making his way into Jerusalem going into the temple and desecrating the temple the 17th chapter of the book of Revelation the period of history in that first three and a half years of the tribulation and there will be a one world Church headquartered for the seven hild city of Rome under the control of Antichrist the first sealed judgment is that of the Antichrist he appears and he heads up a false church that will be headquartered in the city of Rome a one-world religion now we continue on through the Tribulation Period in the first three and a half years and the unfolding of the other six sealed judgments I'm here at Latrun which is the Tank Museum for the armored division of the Israeli Defense Force it's also the location where the young men joining the Israeli Defense Force will receive their training and in fact be initiated into the armored division of this mighty fighting force here in Israel this tank museum serves as a backdrop as we move now to the second of the sealed judgments that will take place in the first three and a half years of the tribulation period here in the sixth chapter of the book of Revelation starting in verse three and when he had opened the second seal I heard the second beast say come and see and there went out another horse that was red and power was given unto him that set thereon to take peace from the earth and that they should kill one another and there was given unto him a great sword revelation is apocalyptic literature it is talking about the judgment of war upon the earth this tank the f-16 the Apache helicopter vehicles of war John referred to it as a sword and the judgment of war released in this second seal the man on the Red Horse as we begin the seven years of tribulation second seal judgment come upon the face of the year here in the Arab shook in the old city of Jerusalem you can see there's an abundance of vegetables meet the needs of the families that want to sustain life with enough to eat the Bible tells us in the book of Revelation that in the end times there will not be an abundance of food in fact the truth is that famine will run rampant will not be any meat hanging from the ceiling in the marketplace it says that it will take a measure of wheat a day's wages to purchase that the measure of wheat that's that's enough week to make bread for a family of four this has three measures of barley well that's enough that's enough food actually for your animals it says that that'll all cost a penny well a penny in the days of Jesus Christ and in the book of Revelation refers to a day's wages famine World Health Organisation tells us that about 50% of the entire earth we're going to bed without a full stomach in fact live their entire life and die never having had a full stomach that same organization says that every seven seconds a child dies of starvation this third sealed judgment in the beginning of the Tribulation Period the judgment of famine famine rampant across this is the cemetery on the Mount of Olives many Jewish people desire to be buried here they realized that the Messiah will come to this mount one day and as they are resurrected they want to meet him a cemetery speaks of death we come now to the fourth sealed judgment which is death have a stone with me you notice the stones on top of the grave markers people come to honor the dead and they place a stone like many Christians would place a flower on the grave site we come now to the fourth sealed judgement which is death this is a natural progression the Antichrist released in the first seal and then the judgment of war that second seal many lives will be taken across the world the famine that is released in the third sealed judgment of course will cause death as well the fourth sealed judgment tells us that one-fourth of the earth will die here in chapter 6 and verse 7 when he had opened the fourth seal I heard the voice of the fourth beast say come and see and I looked and behold a pale horse and his name that said on it was death and hell followed with him and power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth to kill with the sword that would be the judgment of war and with hunger the judgment of famine and with death this fourth sealed judgment and with the beasts of the earth the Anti Christ one-fourth of the Earth's population will be killed at this time at the present population of our world six billion people that's 1.5 billion people killed when this judgment is released by Jesus Christ death the truth is this is only the beginning of millions and millions of more deaths that will take place during the seven years of tribulation I'm here at the Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem Yad Vashem a place and a name the names of six million Jews recorded to honor them because they gave their lives during the Holocaust at the end of World War two they were killed because they were guilty of one thing they were Jewish this is the Children's Museum you can see on the hillside there the different levels of the columns representing the different ages of the children and then the lead sticking out of the foundation stone also at different heights representing the age of the children the Bible tells us there's a worst Holocaust yet to come Zechariah chapter 13 and verse 8 says but during the Tribulation Period two out of every three Jewish people will be killed at the present population of Jewish people in the world twelve million that means at least 8 million Jews to be killed in the future the worst Holocaust is yet to come but the Holocaust Museum is simply a backdrop for martyr Tony one of the judgments one of the sealed judgments in fact the fifth seal judgment as recorded here in chapter 6 and verse 9 and when he had opened the fifth seal I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held during the first half of the Tribulation Period in fact in the beginning stages of those first three and a half years the fifth sealed judgment released upon the earth martyrdom of believers Jews and Gentiles who have trusted in Jesus Christ and have a testimony for him during that first three and a half years many of them martyred for his sake the fifth seal judgment I'm here in the Jordan Valley which is a portion of what is referred to as the Rift Valley that extends in the north from Syria all the way to the South to Kenya this is probably one of the major earthquake fault lines in all of the world many earthquakes taking place over the centuries along this Rift Valley line we've come to this location to talk about the sixth seal judgment the moon will turn to blood the Sun will become black and there will be a great earthquake the text says in the book of Revelation chapter 6 and verse 12 and I beheld and when he had opened the sixth seal and lo there was a great earthquake earthquakes in diverse places many earthquakes across the earth an indication that we're in the first half of the Tribulation Period and now moving to the sixth sealed judgment as Jesus Christ releases this seal you may say what like a 9.0 earthquake which caused the tsunami in December or maybe you're talking about the 7.6 earthquake that had as its center there Pakistan and devastated many many villages and killed many many people well that's just the beginning and that will be evidence that the sixth seal has been released by Jesus Christ judgment upon the earth earthquakes in diverse places all over the world during the first three and a half years of the tribulation period there will be two witnesses that a preach and 144,000 Jews will be born again that's 12,000 of the 12 tribes of Israel at the end of the first three and a half years of the tribulation period there will be a fight in the heavenlies between the angel Michael and Satan at which time he will be cast out of the heavenlies down to the earth here at the edge of the valley of Gehenna just outside the walls of the old city of Jerusalem I come to talk about what happens at the midway point of the Tribulation Period I chose the valley of Gehenna because well it depicts that everlasting fire that burns forever and ever it said that the area here at Gehenna had a fire that was continuous all the time at the midway point of the tribulation found here in the 12th chapter of the book of Revelation we see that there's going to be a battle in the heavenlies and there was a war in heaven and Michael and his angels fought against the Dragon and the dragon fought and his angels by the way the dragon remember apocalyptic literature will use a symbol to communicate an absolute truth in verse 9 it describes who the dragon is verse 9 it says and that Great Dragon was cast out that old serpent called the devil and Satan so it's a battle between Michael the commander-in-chief of the good angels and Satan who is the commander in chief of the evil angels now they will be in the first Evan that's the heaven right above us the Sun and the the clouds the second heaven of course the stars and the galaxies the third heaven where God is at the fall of Satan he was cast out of the third heaven howbeit the Bible tells us here in this passage of Scripture in verse 10 that he has access to the throne of God to accuse the Brethren day and night but he's the only one of the evil creation that will have that access the rest of the evil angels there in the first heaven will gathered together by satan and they will fight with michael and his good angels and be cast to the earth the text tells us that those in the heavens rejoiced because he was cast out but verse 13 says and when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth he persecuted the woman which brought forth a man child he will intensify his persecution on Israel on the Jewish people with an effort to uh Nile ate them if he destroys the Jewish people he becomes God because God's promise to the Jewish people is then negated verse 17 says and the dragon was wroth with the woman went forth to make war with the remnant of her seed which keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ the battle in the heavenlies between Michael the army of the good angels and Satan and his evil angels when he's cast to the earth and will intensify his persecution upon the Jewish people in the last three and a half years of the tribulation period as we move now to the last three and a half years of the tribulation period and that lasts three and a half years the seven trumpet judgments will take place I'm walking here in the Jewish quarter located in the old city of Jerusalem this is the plaza area much traffic as the people spend the midday here in Jerusalem in my hands I have a shofar the ram's horn which in the Old Testament is used to describe the trumpet that would have been used to call a solemn assembly bringing the people together at the entrance of the tabernacle are giving the direction for the children of Israel to continue on as they wander through the wilderness there in those forty years the Old Testament shofar is the word for trumpet and at the beginning of the last half the seventh trumpet judgments will take place those judgments summarized briefly would include one-third of the ocean turning to blood one-third of the fish in the ocean died one-third of the ships on the oceans would be destroyed also talks about the son losing some of its light and then in the ninth chapter of the book of Revelation you see how from the bottomless pit Satan has given the key to release those evil angels that have been there for almost 6,000 years the Bible describes them as locusts not look as like grasshoppers but instead locusts as aliens that enter the Earth's atmosphere from outer space from the heavenly someplace where that bottomless pit will be located they had the face of a man the hair of a woman the teeth of a lion a breastplate like a horse running to battle in addition to that they have a tail like a scorpion and they're giving the capability to kill one third of the Earth's population that fourth sealed judgment kills one fourth of the year's population and now with three-quarters of the world's population still alive one-third of them will die one-half of the entire Earth's population destroyed as we go through the time the period the last half of the tribulation period in the seven trumpet judgments also at the end of three and a half years of the Tribulation Period the 7 ball judgments will take place culminating with the Kings coming out of the East here to Jerusalem I'm here in the old city of Jerusalem in a pottery shop looking for a way to illustrate the vile or the bold judgments the last seven judgments that take place in the last half of the Tribulation Period may be this ancient pot will serve as a way of illustration the judgments would be in the bowl or the vial and they would be poured out on the earth these are the last seven of the 21 judgments and they conclude they bring to a climax a terrible judgment of the Tribulation Period on the earth the first of the vial judgments rained a conclusion those judgments the trumpet judgments that began with one third of the ocean turning to blood now all of the ocean turns to blood and all of the fish in the oceans of the world would die the Sun gets so hot that it scorches man is so bad this judgment that instead of repenting man blasphemes God even knowing his tongue to try to relieve his pain in the sixth vial judgment chapter 16 verse 12 the river Euphrates dries up making way for the kings of the East to come into Jerusalem for that campaign of Armageddon and then the seventh vial or bold judgment starting in verse 17 it's the destruction of the city of Babylon that will have been the headquarters in the last three and a half years of the tribulation period for the Antichrist ruling over a one-world economic political governmental system he destroys Babylon and then Jesus Christ comes back to the Mount of Olives right here in the city of Jerusalem the seven vials you vii of the vial judgments chapter 16 verse 17 is destruction of Babylon modern day Babylon where the Antichrist will be headquartered during the last three-and-a-half years over an economic political governmental system I'm outside the walls of the old city of Jerusalem just down from the Jaffa Gate this wall that is around the city of Jerusalem is to protect it as were the two walls that surrounded the ancient city of Babylon two walls that had a moat between in order to penetrate this impregnable city you'd have to scale the two walls swim the moat and then get into the city almost impossible to defeat the Babylonians but the Babylonian Empire did fall in 539 BC that's recorded in the book of Daniel chapter 5 when Belshazzar the king of the Babylonian Empire fell to the medo-persians but that was not the end of the city of Babylon though the Babylonian Empire fell the city of Babylon has never fallen the Bible tells us in Ezra chapter 7 that the scribe ezra living in Babylon 75 years after the fall of the Babylonian Empire would make his way into Jerusalem in the New Testament first Peter chapter 5 and verse 13 the Apostle Peter following the command of Jesus Christ to go to the uttermost parts of the earth he goes to the city of Babylon and there establishes a church in fact in the time of Peter Babylon was the second most populated Jewish city in the world with the exception of Jerusalem it was the largest Jewish city the Babylonian Empire fell but the city of Babylon has never fallen the Bible tells us in Isaiah chapters 13 and 14 in Jeremiah chapters 50 and 51 and in the book of Revelation chapter 18 in that last half of the Tribulation Period Babylon will come back to power and then it will fall chapter 18 of the book of Revelation tells us of the return to power of the city of Babylon the location of the headquarters for the Antichrist during those last three and a half years of the Tribulation Period the Antichrist ruling over a one-world economic political governmental system in the city of Babylon here in chapter 18 the word Babylon is used three times the word city six times and the word great eight times speaking of that great city of Babylon as Antichrist comes to power here and controls the economies of the world that's the reason of course that everyone who would follow the Antichrist would have to take the mark of the beast 666 in the forehead on the back of the hand so he could buy or sell that all headquartered all of that merchandising headquartered in the city of Babylon but at the last part of that three and a half years including the seven years of tribulation the time of Jacob's trouble Babylon will come under attack the Bible tells us in chapter 18 and verses 10 17 and 19 that in one hour Babylon will be destroyed the record of that destruction is found here in chapter 16 of the book of Revelation it is the seventh vial judgment and the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air and there came a great voice out of the Temple of Heaven from the throne saying it is done and there were voices and thunders and lightnings and there was a great earthquake such as was not since man was upon the face of the earth the greatest earthquake to ever hit this earth takes place to destroy the city of babylon babylon the empire fell Babel in the city comes back to power and it is the head for the Antichrist that one world economic governmental political system biblical Babylon well that's modern-day Iraq Babel in itself today on the shores of the affray T's River some 65 miles southwest of Baghdad Iraq chapter 18 great Babylon does fall the last event that takes place in the Tribulation Period before Jesus Christ returns to Jerusalem immediately following the destruction of Babylon and that one world economic political governmental system in the last three and a half years of the Tribulation Period which the Antichrist will have headed up modern-day Iraq is devastated and Jesus Christ then mounts his white horse of the heavily we get on our white horses when we come back to the earth and that is the revelation of Christ when Jesus returns here to the Mount of Olives in the city of Jerusalem the campaign of Armageddon actually begins all the nations of the world gather here and then we'll go to the Jezreel Valley for the Battle of Armageddon many memories are rushing through my mind as I walk along this 2,000 year old street dating back to the times of Jesus Christ here in the city of Jerusalem this particular Street adjacent to the western retaining wall of the Temple Mount these stones behind me evidence of the devastation of the temple the destruction of the city of Jerusalem and the dispersing of the Jewish people to the four corners of the earth that took place in 70 AD attacking the enemy the Roman army under general Titus it brings us to the point in our study of the book of Revelation of another time when the armies of the world will gather here at the city of Jerusalem we often refer to the time at the appearance of Jesus Christ on the earth and then up into the Jezreel where the armies will be gathered as the Battle of Armageddon the term would better be used the campaign of Armageddon as we go to the book of Zechariah chapter 14 we see how this unfolds in verse 2 he says for I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to do battle the armies of the world and let's say just one hundred nations of the world would be represented and each of them having 1 million soldiers a hundred million soldiers will gather here in Jerusalem to begin the campaign of Armageddon the women will be raped the city will be devastated half of the city will be captured then the Bible says in verse 3 then shall the Lord go forth and fight against those nations as when he fought in the day of battle the heavens will open up the text as we move over to the book of Revelation chapter 19 verse 11 and I saw heaven open behold a white horse and he that sat upon him was called faithful and true and in righteousness he doth judge and make war his eyes were as a flame of fire that reminds us of the person of Jesus Christ and his head were many crowns and he had a name written that no man knew but he himself and he was clothed in a vesture dipped in blood and his name is called the word of God and the armies which were in heaven that would be us those have been raptured and in the heavens with him during that seven years of terrible judgment here on the earth we would get upon our horses as he gets on his white horse to come back in the armies which we're in heaven followed him upon white horses clothed in fine linen white and clean and then we must return over here to the book of Zachariah in verse 4 and his feet shall stand in that day upon the Mount of Olives which is before Jerusalem on the east and the Mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west there shall be a great Valley half of the mountain it were moved toward the north and half toward the South and those people that are me that massive army maybe one hundred million soldiers they were flee for the valley of the mountains that's the Jezreel Valley where the battle will continue well there'll be a period of time Jesus will change the geography of the city of Jerusalem lifting it up and then the Temple Mount itself one square mile about the size of the old city of Jerusalem and Jesus will build his 21 storey high temple Messiah's temple as described in Ezekiel chapters 40 to 46 he thing goes to the Jezreel Valley there in the Jezreel Valley with a word he speaks his voice like the sharp two-edged sword proceeds out of his mouth and he cast them dead at that point those dead bodies have released the blood and their bodies and the bodies of the dead horses in that battle it flows as high as the horses Bible extending all the way to the place prepared by God to protect the Juris people during the terrible time of judgment here on the earth the campaign of Armageddon beginning here in the city of Jerusalem Jesus Christ defeats the armies of the world in the valley of the mountains the Jezreel Valley there's a parenthetical portion of Scripture here in the book of Revelation chapter 14 verses 19 and 20 and the angel thrust in his sickle unto the earth and he gathered the vine of the earth and he cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God and the winepress was trodden without the city without the city of Jerusalem and blood came up out of the winepress even to the horse's bridle by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs now a thousand and six hundred furlongs would be a hundred and seventy-six miles as the Battle of Armageddon is concluded the blood flows from the horses and from the men who were there in the battle the Bible tells us it flows as high as the horse's bridle an estimate of how many people would be gathered for that Battle of Armageddon would be a hundred million soldiers that thus would mean there would be 600 million quarts of blood that would be approximately 50 quarts of blood every foot 476 miles as high as the horse's bridle in the Book of Isaiah chapter 63 Isaiah the prophet asked a question he's answered by Jesus Christ and then asked a second question verse 1 of Isaiah 63 who is this that cometh from Edom with dried garments from Basra this said is glorious in his apparel traveling in the greatness of his strength basra well that's the entrance to the wilderness fortress known as Petra the impregnable city the city prepared by God to protect the Jewish people in the last three and a half years of the tribulation Jesus responds to the question of Isaiah I that speak in righteousness mighty to save he is the one that comes from Basra from Petra the second question by Isaiah wherefore art thou read in thine apparel and thy garments like they treadeth in the wine backed treading the winepress with the fiercest the wrath of Almighty God for that 176 miles Jesus responds I have the trodden the winepress alone and of the people there was none with me where I will tread them in mine anger and trample them in my fury and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments and I will stain all of my raiment for the day of vengeance is in mine heart and the year of my redemption is come the Battle of Armageddon is concluded Jesus Christ walks that 176 miles from the Jezreel Valley all the way to the entrance of Petra which is actually 176 miles he goes there and he gathers in those surviving Jews approximately 4 million of them who have been protected in the last three and a half years in the city of Petra we go now to the Book of Ezekiel chapter 43 and we continue what takes place from then on and afterward he brought me to the gate even the gate that looketh toward the east the eastern gate behind us and behold the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the East from Petra to the east of Jerusalem here he came and he brought me with a voice as the noise of many waters a description of Jesus Christ and the earth shined with his glory verse 4 and the glory of the Lord came unto the house the way of the gate whose prospect is toward the east Jesus Christ brains those surviving Jews from Petra from the east here to the Mount of Olives they crossed the Kidron Valley they go in the eastern gate the text says then he takes them into the temple the house that he had just recently built the temple will be standing where that gold domed building is today 21 stories high majestic on the Jerusalem landscaped and then he says this and he said unto me son of man for seven of the Book of Ezekiel chapter 43 son of man the place of my throne and the place of the soles of my feet where I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel for ever Jesus Christ comes back goes through the eastern gate enters the temple Hebrew says once in the end of time Jesus will enter that temple and there to rule and reign forever and ever the eastern gate from the inside instead of the outside a different view than from the one we had on the Mount of Olives as you notice it's closed but one day when Jesus Christ returns to the Mount of Olives he'll make his way across the Kidron Valley this gate will be open he will walk through the eastern gate making his way up to the Temple Mount and from the eastern gate he makes his way up to the temple walks into the Holy of Holies sits down on his throne to rule and reign forever at this point in time Satan will be bound for that thousand year period of time which is the Millennial Kingdom I come now here to the face of the cliff overlooking the valley of Gehenna here just outside the old city of Jerusalem the valley of Gehenna depicting a continuous burning fire similar to that lake of fire or the Antichrist the false prophet and Satan himself will be punished for ever and ever and ever at the end of the seven year Tribulation Period before the Lord establishes his Millennial Kingdom he will send an angel an angel with a key to the bottomless pit in a chain in his hand that's the first verse in chapter 20 of the book of Revelation and he took hold of that dragon that serpent which is the devil and Satan and he bound him a thousand years and he cast him into the bottomless pit and sealed that bottomless pit until the thousand years would be completed while Satan is bound for that thousand year period of time Jesus Christ will rule and reign from the temple standing where that gold dome building behind me is erected today and you and I will rule and reign with him during this thousand year period of time in chapter 20 of the book of Revelation verses four five and six it tells us that the Millennial Kingdom will be one thousand years Jesus Christ comes to this Temple Mount he will have already built the temple brains the surviving Jews from Petra and comes here to rule and reign during his Millennial Kingdom he will have dominion over the world from this particular location this is the time in history when there will be true peace because the Prince of Peace has come back the Bible tells us from that temple will flow water down off of the Temple Mount to the Kidron Valley all the way to the Dead Sea making that sea that's seven times saltier than any ocean in the world a freshwater lake Bible also tells us on this Temple Mount the original site of a Garden of Eden will be a tree of life when Jesus sent the message to the church at Ephesus chapter 2 a revelation verse 7 he said those who are overcomers in other words those who know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior shall eat of a tree of life during the Millennial Kingdom they will do that from this spot the Temple Mount in the city of Christ will rule and reign for a thousand years Satan is bound during the thousand year millennial reign of Jesus Christ the Bible tells us as you continue through chapter 20 the Satan will be loosed for a season he will gather the armies of the world here in Jerusalem to make a final attempt to defeat God Jesus Christ will defeat Satan and take him and cast him into the bottomless pit verse 10 of chapter 20 says and the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are and shall be tormented day and night forever and ever Satan finally released from the bottomless pit gathers his army thinking he's triumphant over God then he's cast into the lake of fire the false prophet and the Antichrist have been for a thousand years than all three the Satanic Trinity will be punished for ever and ever and ever in the lake of fire the last of the three events to unfold in the future according to God's calendar of activities will be the retribution the great white throne judgment we come now to the third main event on God's calendar of activities in the future the retribution the great white throne judgment this is not a judgment to determine whether someone is saved or lost that decision is made on earth before death instead this judgment the great white throne judgment is to have the sentencing of those lost those not included in the book of life they're sentenced to eternal damnation in a place called hell a description of the great white throne judgment is found here in the book of Revelation chapter 20 verses 11 to 15 and I saw a great white throne and him that sat on it from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away and there was found no place for them when the first verse we read of the judge Jesus Christ is the judge at the great white throne judgment the book of John the Gospel tells us in the fifth chapter that God delegated the responsibility of judgment to his son Jesus Christ and then in verse 12 and I saw the dead small and great stand before God that would be those who will be judged the small and the great that had died those that were not included in the book of life in fact here in this passage of Scripture there are two different books described he said and the books were opened that's plural books several books and the books were opened and another book singular another book was opened which is the book of life and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books plural according to their works there will be degrees of punishment according to the evil bad works of those who were lost without Jesus Christ and the sea gave up the Dead which were in it and death and he'll delivered up the Dead which were in them and they were judged reman according to their works their evil works their bad works and death and he'll were cast into the lake of fire this is the second death and whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire this is a terrible time for those who have rejected Jesus Christ it will be the time of sentencing a decision that they made while on earth will have confirmed their eternal destiny judgment in the lake of fire as they stand before that great white throne Jesus looks into the book of life if their name is not there they then will enter into the lake of fire where the worm dieth not and the fire is not quenched the Bible tells us what this hell is going to be like in the 16th chapter of the Book of Luke it's the story about Lazarus and the rich man the rich man dies and immediately he was in hell I understand that's the hell the area that will keep those dead small and great until they are delivered to the great white throne judgment that's where they are at this period in history but it's a perfect description of what the eternal hell fires will be like in Luke 16 it says that in this location they were in torment in the flames where the flame is not quit and where the worm dieth not and then it says they were thirsty the rich man asked for a Lazarus to brain just a a drop of water just to touch his tongue with a drop of water that's all he needed torment and thirst and finally thinking because the rich man asked father Abraham could he go back to his brothers and and tell them the proper way the way of salvation he said thinking about that will be part of your judgment forever and ever and ever the great white throne judgment a terrible time of judgment in the future for those who rejected Jesus Christ whose names are not found written in the book of life they will face eternal punishment and damnation in the lake of fire for ever and ever and ever after the great white throne judgment new heavens new earth and a new Jerusalem you hear the sounds of modern-day Jerusalem the call to prayer by the Muslim clerics from the minarets you see the sights of the new city of Jerusalem in the days of Jesus Christ the city of Jerusalem was within the walls of the old city over the years Jerusalem has expanded to whatever that you may see on the landscape behind me but the Bible as we continue our study the book of Revelation speaks of a New Jerusalem in chapters 21 and 22 we see the description of the new heavens the new earth and the new Jerusalem chapter 21 verse 1 and I saw new heavens and a new earth for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away and there was no more sea and I John saw the holy city the New Jerusalem coming down from God out of heaven prepared as a bride adorned for her husband and as we continue to read in Revelation we see a description of that New Jerusalem 1,500 miles high 1500 miles wide 1500 miles long three gates on each side pearly gates the Bible tells us that each of these gates will have an angel and on each of the gates a name for one of the 12 tribes of Israel the truth is that the New Jerusalem will not be on earth the reason I make that statement The Book of Ezekiel chapter 37 tells us that the temple that Jesus Christ builds on the Temple Mount behind me where that gold dome building is now standing today that temple will be on the earth the old earth and the new earth forever and ever in the book of Revelation chapter 21 there's no temple in the New Jerusalem because God and Jesus are thus the New Jerusalem will hover someplace in the heavenlies over the new earth the Jews and the Gentiles will inhabit the new earth the Christians the ones would have been taken at the rapture of the church to be with Jesus Christ forever and ever their place of habitation will be in the New Jerusalem forever and ever and those Jews on the earth have access to come and visit and we in the New Jerusalem will have access to the earth as well new heavens new earth and a new Jerusalem and that is our walk through the book of Revelation here on the mount of olives during Passion Week Jesus Christ would sit and teach his disciples he was responding to their questions a question of some signs they were seeking for his coming to the earth and then when would he set up that Millennial Kingdom in the book of Matthew chapter 24 which is a record of the Olivet discourse he answers those questions in verse 4 and jesus answered and said unto them take heed that no man deceive you for many shall come in my name sin that I am Christ and shall deceive many that sounds like that first sealed judgment the Antichrist who will use deception to cause the world to worship Him and then in verse 6 and you should hear of wars and rumors of wars see that you be not troubled for all these things must come to pass but the end is not yet for nation shall rise against nation and Kingdom against Kingdom well that certainly is described as the second sealed judgment the judgment of war and then listen to what Jesus had to say also in verse 7 of Matthew 24 and there shall be famines that's the third sealed judgment and pestilence pandemic death across the world one-fourth of the Earth killed and earthquakes in diverse places in many places around the world earthquakes that's the sixth seal judgment he concludes his sermon here the Olivet discourse right here on the Mount of Olives and he says this he he uses a parable to bring everything to a conclusion in his study he looks and he sees a fig tree and he uses now the surroundings to brain-2 their proper focus how it will be when he comes back and he says this now learned the parable of a fig tree where in verse 32 of Matthew 24 learn the parable of a fig tree when the branch is yet tender and putteth forth leaves you know that the summer is nigh remember the time of the teaching of the Olivet discourse is in the spring Passover is about to take place in a couple of days after he teaches here on the Mount of Olives and so that fig tree normally having a bear limb all of a sudden he sees a little leaf here popping up in there he says learn the parable of a fig tree when you see those leaves appearing you can know summer is almost nigh verse 33 so likewise when you shall see all of these things all of what things well everything I've been talking to you about during this walk through Revelation in particular in the first three and a half years those seven sealed judgments when you shall see all of these things know that it is near the it here is his coming to the earth his second coming even at the doors I notice what he says in verse 34 verily I say unto you this generation shall not pass to all these things be fulfilled was that the generation he was talking to here on the Mount of Olives that he was referring to then no because they did not see all of those things come to pass what generation is he talking about he's talking about the generation that sees these things happening that's our generation that's you that's me we are seeing these things unfold based upon our study of Revelation and then the words of Jesus Christ himself he said when you shall see these things come to pass know that I am coming to the earth and another parallel passage chapter 21 of the Book of Luke he says when ye see these things beginning to happen look up for your Redemption draweth nigh we're not talking about the rapture of the church we're talking about the second coming of Jesus Christ and if we're so close to those events that lead up to the second coming of Jesus Christ how close must we be to the time of the rapture this rapture could happen at any moment in fact in the next few moments are you ready are you prepared to meet Jesus Christ by knowing him as your Lord and Savior if prepared are you living pure in light of his soon return and working productively until he does come John the Revelator concluded the book of Revelation with a wonderful prayer it should be our prayer chapter 22 even so come Lord Jesus is that your prayer it's mine I want to sing today revelation tells us we are approaching that day very quickly even so come Lord Jesus I guess the conclusion of this study I would simply say let's keep looking up
