Hi I'm Meg from Tokyo In this video I will share  with you the top five areas you should consider   as a base for your trip in Tokyo Japan This video  is not sponsored or affiliated with any brand I've   just ranked the areas I personally recommend for  everyone to visit before we begin exploring the   areas let's note the five areas we're discussing  are located on the yamalo line this means you can   easily access each station without the need  to change trains okay then let's go number   five Shinagawa area The area is known for its  business district five currently dominated by   numerous office buildings historically Shagawa  flourished at a lunching place centuries ago   and has been a major transport Hub since then  it has been redeveloped in an office district   lined with high-rise buildings despite being  predominantly an office area it still bought   several attractive tourist spots for example  Maxel Aqua Park Shinagawa is a of-the aquarium   where living creatures are displayed through  a plant of sound light and Video Productions   additionally T.Y. Harbor is a restaurant with  an attached beer brewery offering craft beer   and food on a Terrace overlooking the canal a  short distance from Shinagawa station you will   find Togoshi Ginza a shopping street that retains  the field of a traditional downtown area nearby   Tennooji aisle is an ideal spot for a relaxing  stroll and enjoying coffee by the water while   Shinagawa may not have as many tourist attractions  as some other areas it's an excellent choice for   accommodation in the next section I will explain  why Shinagawa station is served by various trains   operated by the Japan Railways group commonly  known as JR Direct Services to Hana airport are   also available from KQ Shinagawa station located  adjacent to it Shinagawa is the most convenient   area for transportation when departing from Tokyo  if you're traveling to Kyoto Osaka or Nagoya by   Shinkansen choosing Shinagawa station as your base  is your ideal as it is one of the main Shinkansen   stops plus it's just a 20 minute direct train ride  to Hana airport in other words Shinagawa station   is highly recommended for those planning to travel  outside of Tokyo by Shinkansen or plane where   should you stay in Shinagawa if you're looking  for luxury the Shinagawa Prince Hotel could be   your Top Choice it's quite famous among locals  and conveniently located near Shinagawa station   the hotel has nine restaurants an aquarium  a cinema and the bowling center completing   the entertainment experience in one facility  furthermore the location is perfect as it is   situated almost directly in front of Shinagawa  station on the other hand there are also several   reasonably priced hotels available for example  Budget Hotels such as Keikyu EX Inn or Toyoko   in Shinagawa are well known across Japan their  ideal if you want to stay close to the downtown   without spending too much in summary the Shinagawa  area is an excellent choice for those who value   easy access to transportation for their next  destinations such as Kyoto Osaka or the airport   over proximity to tour spots number four Shibuya  area Shibuya a bustling District in Tokyo is a hub   for youth culture and entertainment the Shibuya  Crossing is famously crowded with up to 3,000   people crossing at any given time after the World  War II Shibuya rapidly developed into a Cultural   Center for Young People becoming a birthplace for  many Trends especially in fashion music and art a   prime example of trendsetting fashion in Shibuya  I09 a building filled with numerous shops selling   the latest trends in clothing and accessories  for young people it's a top destination for   those keen on staying up to date with the  latest styles the area is also known for its   vibrant nightlife with popular chain izakayas my  favorite chain Izaakaya is Torikizoku. Torikizoku   is famous for its domestic Yakitori offering  affordable drinks and food Shibuya features   a diverse mix of bars and clubs keying the area  Lively well into the early hours Shibuya is well   tared by many Railway companies including JR from  Shibuya passion forward areas like Harajuku and   Shimokitazawa are just a short train right away  Harajuku station is only a 2-minute trip on the   JR Yamanote line while Shimokitazawa station can  be reached in a quick six minute Journey on the   Keikyu Inokashira line Harajuku is renowned  for its young fashion scene including the   trendy Takeshita street meanwhile Shimokitazawa is  celebrated for its youth subculture and secondhand   clothing stores it's fair to say that the shibuya  area and its neighboring districts are magnets for   fashion conscious young people looking for place  to stay in shibuya Tokyo for a touch of luxury the   Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel is an excellent choice  this hotel offers panoramic renowned for its art   galleries and museums including the Tokyo National  Museum which is not only the oldest but also the   largest in Japan Additionally the Ueno zoo one  of Japan's most famous Zooes and the oldest in   Japan is known for its pandas and is a popular  destination for families especially on weekends   Ueno Onshi Park located close to Ueno station is  another park with a long history in Spring its   cherry blossoms are a beautiful site and since  it's free to enter you are welcome to take a   leisurely walk around lastly don't miss exploring  Ameyoko shopping street perfect for finding unique   souvenirs and sampling the delicious street food  established shortly after World War II the streets   today boast a large number of shop selling food  stuffs sundries and clothing offering a wide   range of goods at affordable prices Ueno station  is served by numerous trains including several   Jr and Tokyo Metro Subway Lines from Ueno station  you can easily reach Asakusa in just 5 minutes via   the Tokyo Metro Ginza line like Ueno Asakusa is  renowned for its historical neighborhood including   Sensoji Tokyo's oldest Temple and the adjacent  Nakamise Street if you're heading to Northern   areas like Hokkaido [ __ ] Ueno station is an  excellent option alongside Tokyo Station which   I will introduce in the next section but it's  important to note that if you want to travel   westwards on the Shinagawa to Kyoto or Osaka you  will need to use Tokyo or Shinagawa stations this   makes wio a fantastic choice for those planning  to explore Japan by Shinkansen looking for   accommodation near Ueno while luxury hotels are  scarce around Ueno station there are numerous   budget friendly options available for instance  APA hotel and super hotel Ueno Okachimachi are   quite popular offering comfortable and affordable  accommodations that place you right in the heart   of Ueno's vibrant atmosphere in summary Ueno is  an ideal spot for history enthusiasts number two   Tokyo Station area Tokyo station is characterized  by a massive number of lines and the largest   number of Platforms in Japan the area around Tokyo  station is known for its historic station building   a business hub for prominent corporate offices  and a center for upscale shopping and dining the   marinoi station building part of Tokyo Station was  originally designed by German architects who came   to Japan several hundred years ago giving it the  distinctive European style near Tokyo Station the   Kitte and Marunouchi buildings are also symbols  of the housing many high-end restaurants overall   the area is known for its upscale market shops  but it also features Yaesu which carries to   more mass oriented preferences for example at  the Tokyo Ramen Street you can find a variety   of different ramen shops offering up to 10  distinctive styles from Tokyo station Ginza   station is just a 2-minute train right away on  the Tokyo metro Marunouchi line Ginza is known   as Japan's most exclusive District featuring bucks art galleries and high-end restaurants   Tokyo Station serves as a stop for many shinkansen  trains and is recommended for travel to all areas   including Osaka and Kyoto via shinkansen it's  not only for shinkansen trains Express buses   and limited Express services are also available  from Tokyo station for those wishing to travel to   Regions not served by the shinkansen the Tokyo  area is renowned for its many luxury hotels   reflecting its upscale status a notable example  is a recently open Bulgari Hotel crafted by the friends reuniting  as well as a workplace for businessmen during the   day you can relax in Shinjuku a garden that offers  a peaceful escape from the city at night Shinjuku   boast more nightlife station to  Shinjuku station is Shinokubo located on the JR   Yamanote line Shinokubo is known for a Korean town  and has become very popular especially among local   young Japanese from Shinjuku station Ikebukuro the  second most famous anime town after Akihabara is   only 5 minutes away by Jr and buses are available  from a place called Bast Shinjuku right in front   of Shinjuku station to go to hot spring towns  such as Ikaho Onsen and Kusatsy Onsen as well   as Lake Kawaguchiko where Mount Fuji is close by  many Trail lines and express bus services make it   easy to get anywhere a luxury hotel near Shinjuku  station is Hotel Group Shinjuku located in the new   Shinjuku Kabukicho Tower which was built in June  2023 it is a superbly located Bas for exploring   Shinjuku Kabukicho in Tokyo luxury hotels like the  Hyatt Tokyo and Hilton Tokyo are situated close to   Nishi Shinjuku station of course there's also a  wide range of budget hotels in Shinjuku kabukicho   including the well-known APA hotel and super  hotel which have been mentioned several times   in this video in summary Shinjuku is an excellent  base for those who want to enjoy the night life   at unique bars and Izakaya exclusive to Japan as  well as for those considering taking express bus   to explore the countryside lastly let me share  the most important tips when booking hotels the   Shinjuku Tokyo Station Ueno Shibuya and Shinagawa  areas covered in this video are major District   which means even Budget Hotels can be prizer to  keep cost low while considering Transportation   links consider staying near a station that is  one or two stops away from the main Railway   line in areas less known to tourists for example  rather than staying right in Shinjuku it might   be more cost effective
