restaurant established in 1872 famous for its French and Western cuisine near the great Buddha there's the beautiful hanazono Inari Shrine with its striking Tory gate it's known for its broad blessings and improving human relationships and matchmaking personally I felt a lot of energy from this spot right next to it there's the Gojo 10 Shrine dedicated to the deities of medicine and learning I've arrived at the bentendo during cherry blossom season this Pond and the view of the bintendo hall are quite popular currently the pond is filled with lotus flowers the bintendo hall is a temple that was constructed approximately 400 years ago designed to mimic the scenery of Kyoto Lake biwan Shiga and the enriakuji temple on Mount heidot it is widely revered as the guardian deity of Music in the Performing Arts believed to bring blessings of increased wealth this is the former iwasaki house Garden you can visit the western style house and Japanese style house built by the eldest son of a famous Japanese Financial clique by the way if you're considering staying in wayno I personally think that APPA hotel near shinobazu pond is a good choice it's a quiet environment and there's a shop nearby called donnery where you can get Suites that are sold in convenience stores and supermarkets at a discounted price there's also a Sanrio character Cafe [Music] here is the scene from the shinobizu exit side of the station [Music] I've arrived at the shinobazu exit dot this is the way no Mori Sakura Terrace building currently 18 dining establishments are in operation here it can get crowded on weekends so making a reservation is a good idea the rooftop serves as a little relaxation spot I've arrived at amayoko amayoko is a popular tourist destination where you can enjoy the class gourmet dishes from all over Japan and find snacks clothing and miscellaneous goods for sale with a history of over 70 years the shopping street boasts more than 400 stores it used to be known as the place where you could find just about anything except cars while it was predominantly known for clothing stores I feel like there has been a rapid increase in eateries and chain stores in recent years currently it seems that about 20 of the shops rent their spaces to foreign-owned businesses with just 500 yen you can enjoy a little food Adventure I don't eat it but when I come to amayoko I crave cut fruits watermelon has seeds so maybe I should have avoided I as for street food takoaki and Shalom Bao are famous options amayoko is approximately 400 to 500 meters long and this area you're in right now is the middle section that often appears on television on the street under the left side of the overpass there are many open-air dining establishments although the term is relatively recent in Japan there's a word called San bero which means getting quite drunk for just a thousand yen ameoko is a popular area for enjoying alcohol inexpensively while hopping between various places recommended places to try an amayoko include OSU known for its sashimi and donbre dishes [Music] near the entrance of amayoko where you can enjoy tempura assortment and even play a dice game to win up to four drinks however personally when you come to wayno I recommend trying tonkatsu tonkatsu is said to have originated in Bueno and there are many delicious restaurants ranging from affordable options to high-end establishments in Japanese tonkatsu is a workplace that combines the pronunciation katsu with katsuretsu cutlet and katsu katsu which means to win people eat tonkatsu as a good luck charm before important competitions or exams I also eat tonkatsu before important business deals there are various recommended restaurants but this time I went to tonkatsuyama you can enjoy a delicious and reasonably priced loin cutlet for 850 yen foreign within the shopping streets of amayoko there is a temple called mariston takadagi this Temple has a history of nearly 400 years and is said to bestow three types of power upon its visitors spiritual physical and financial strength mariston is one of the deities in Buddhism there is a belief that mauritian's ancestor transformed into a wild boar to rescue the Earth which is why it's associated with this animal it's quite a unique Temple as it's rare to find a temple in Tokyo where you can see trains passing by from the temple grounds next to mariston there's Nikki nokashi Nikki confectionary here they offer a selection of over 5000 types of sweets at all times they have many Japanese style suites rather than just popular ones it might be a great opportunity to try something different they also sell retort foods and other items [Music] next to Nikki nokashi there is a goshapon vending area it's located in a three-story building if you walk for about 10 minutes without stopping at the shops in ameoko you'll reach a kakamachi station in front of the station there are major department stores like matsuzukaya and Parco as well as a large discount store called takea around a three-minute walk from the station you'll find yusujia a doriaki shop doriaki is a sweet treat consisting of fluffy thin pancakes with fillings like sweet red bean paste sandwiched in between established in 1913 this shop is considered one of Japan's top three door Yaki makers it has a subtle honey Aroma and is generously filled with mildly sweet red bean paste they have a branch in nihombashi and I sometimes buy it as souvenirs for my business trips when you walk for about seven to eight minutes from okakamachi station you'll arrive at yushima tenjin shrine if you plan to visit I recommend going during the prime plum blossom season which typically Falls between mid-February to early March there are around 300 plum trees with about 80 percent of them being white plums on weekends there are various events and it can get very crowded so visiting on a weekday is preferable to fully enjoy the plum blossoms inside the shrine there's a sculpture called nadeushi which is said to bring Good Fortune if you stroke the part of the sculpture that corresponds to an ailment It is believed to improve and if you touch the head it's said to make you smarter this time I'll conclude my journey at yushima ten long Shrine what I introduce this time are these places which are accessible within about a 10 minute walk from Bueno station Bueno is a city that you can explore in half a day so if you have the chance I recommend visiting thank you for watching foreign
