hi I'm Alex archol I've been buying and selling antiques since I was a kid over the years generations of our family have gotten involved in the business and I'll search just about anywhere I can to find hidden treasures both big and small I never know what I'll turn up next it's about exploring new places seeing new sites and having fun and even though sometimes I get over my head we try and make things a little better along the way this is curiosity in hey guys and welcome to today's episode I uh got an email which I sometimes do uh an invitation to come by and visit a gentleman who wanted to sell off some of his childhood stuff um said that his kid wasn't all interested in it and it was time for it to go so I went there um it looked to be a few interesting things like some old toys and stuff kind of for my generation like that late 7s 80s kind of stuff um and some a little bit newer but I loaded everything up in the car and I don't really even know exactly what I got because it's all you know sometimes you don't really have the time to go and dig through boxes in somebody's house but I bought everything and we're going to do an unboxing together we're going to go through it hopefully we'll find a few gems in there so let's get back to the house unpack everything and uh do a little unboxing episode hope you enjoy okay well time to unload we have uh some hockey cards this one says stay out on it maybe we'll find some more special things in there find out we've got bins and boxes I'm going to get all laid out on the table um some random things that were just thrown in that I didn't really need but are kind of different so like this portable black and white TV set that might be kind of an interest interesting thing if you had like an old camper and you wanted to feel retro inside um anyway we'll get it all offloaded here we'll have a good look see and start going through things and hopefully this was worthwhile all right so um at first glance you can see I bought a bunch of hockey cards and stuff most of these unfortunately are 1990s hockey cards and for the most part because they way overproduce this stuff this is at a time it I always have a a thing that I if they tell you it's collectible it's probably not um that's what it was like in the '90s everything was a collector's item and nothing ended up being that way um most of these cards for the most part are interesting not really worth a whole pile because they they made way too many of them so I'm hoping that um as I go through here that there might be some that are a little bit older you get back prior to like 1987 1988 or so anything really prior to that is a little bit um more valuable and then some of the new cards are valuable too like the ones they're making now oh look there's do you remember Wacky Packages heg and heg for witches only I used to have these too looks like these are cut out Muriel blands fanatical and sickly fiction jerkens wild soap so they would take if you're not familiar with these they would take common products of the time in this case probably the early to mid 7s and then make like this uh satirical um little uh sticker basically um they would have had a full card siiz background with a number on them in this case it looks like they took them out but still kind of neat you know flash back to my childhood but on the plus side they're older which means there might be some other older stuff in here too so kind of going through the Wayne Gretzky card so some of the things that are like grety cards see that one see through it's McDonald's uh card some of those might have a little bit more value but I'm kind of holding my breath uh in in hopes that there's something other than uh just 1990s hockey cards in here but we'll see um other than the cards you can see this The Beatles Yellow Submarine that's neat isn't it I think so you got the Batman Arkham Knight mobile you got the classic Batmobile the 1960s my favorite of the Batmobiles and the back the Future DeLorean so some neat kind of little movie cars that came out a few number of years ago few years ago okay so here's here are some older cards right here um these are 1986 the best card and I don't know if it's in here or not but the best card out of the set is the mariio Lemieux card uh yarm Jagger paa Fontaine Paul coffee so and then we get kind of into some '90s stuff that the best card out of that said is definitely Mario lemu and and Gretzky is decent as well there's Eric Lindros he was supposed to be a big deal and uh that card when that came out was very desirable in like 1991 Spider-Man cards McFarland Spider-Man error cards those are kind of neat holographic sort of metallic cards so not a whole pile of old stuff in there there's another Lindros rookie it's worth something um um Hall these again are '90s sort of a so not too much in the way 80s cards yet but you know we got so okay well there's some we'll we'll dig around and go through that in a little bit and see I'll do a recap of if there was any uh good cards in the mix here some of them are in holders and that's kind of where you look yeah okay there's Wayne Gretzky Wayne Gretzky Gretzky okay those are those are worth something in fact that car is pretty crisp um this Gretzky card I think that's an 82 yeah 82 way Gretzky OPI card really crisp Corners off-centered a little bit probably would be like a s out of 10 something like that um that could be worth a few hundred bucks so that actually kind of helps pay for the whole works here so we'll we'll keep digging through this I'm I'm kind of excited to go through this box because there are some older cards in there thank goodness maybe I'll be so is to find a uh Mario leux rookie in the in the mix or something well I thought I just did that's an anniversary release but that's what the card looks like that I'm looking for so maybe I will find one um so more '90s cards very old Star Wars figures hm and that's what's inside these are all the a original Star Wars figures from the 1970s and 80s you got Princess Leia she still has her vinyl cape Obi-Wan Kenobi with vinyl cape intact if I could find a vinyl cape Jawan here that would really be nice there are tons of figures in here tons and uh I guess you know part of part of a uh of the landeer card it's not in the greatest shape but I am going to have to bring these inside oh look there's a Boba Fett you know if you find one that has a firing rocket it's worth a pile of money cuz it's prototype but uh even so a regular Boba Fett figure is a pretty nice find so and a lot of them do have their capes I wonder if their accessories and guns are in here too okay that is awesome I loved this stuff when I was a kid I was such a fan oh that's um I can't remember that little dude's name who watching at home remember was this is called put it in the comments below I'm having brain fog I I feel it was a different space series it wasn't Star Wars oh my gosh I'm going to go crazy that's off the uh Millennium Falcon I think that's the Satellite Dish off the Millennium Falcon there's a jawwa with oh it's a tiny little jawwa or that a yeah weird it's I don't think I've seen that scale of figure before it's tiny Teensy wey okay we'll dig through that a little bit oh there's some of the other uh Wacky Packages made their way on the inside of this case you can tell it's been in the family for a long time oh so cool that they still have their vinyl capes those things are always missing and there are some oh there's look there's part of the the screen and on the inside there's the other bit of it so I guess it's all there it's just a little busted helmets and stuff okay I am quite literally going through this for the first time right now so I'm going to try not to get too lost in looking through that that and and we'll return and come back to that uh the bin is all Lego Lego Lego Lego and Lego is always really good Minifigures that's a Harry Potter head so maybe this ranges from the I can tell that's 1970s so there's probably like' 70s to early 2000s or maybe late '90s Lego in here oh look the Hogwarts Express train might be in here in various pieces if you have the patience to go through it you can actually look up all the individual individual parts and pieces that were part of that set and try and reassemble it um some of these are 80s some of them are older some of them are newer um there's probably some space stuff in here from the 70s and you can tell right away I can tell from this piece that there's a 1970s space set in here somewhere so this might be worthwhile for me to actually wash this stuff up dry it and then because it's I can see they had pets and there's a little bit of fuzzy fluffy pet hair floating around in here but if I can reassemble and and rebuild some of these steps they're worth much more um Al together than they are just as a big bucket of Lego like this so if you have the time when you find a set a box to Lego like this at a yard sale or something it is really worthwhile to go through and see how many sets you can build out of it um and you want to look for key pieces like this easy to spot and figure out what set it is I can tell that's like so so I could probably sort through this cuz I've done this a million times and pick out all the the Spacey stuff right away and uh and put together a set but I'm curious to know where the uh the Hogwart set would be pretty cool and that's a big bin that is a very full bin rubber made bin full of Lego and just when you thought the Star Wars figures weren't cool enough look you even got the Star Wars bedding to go along with it so uh that's kind of neat it's a Like a Star Wars sheet set very 1970s like young Harrison Ford listen kid I don't even know the name of this picture so many grumpy Harrison Ford interviews over the years he's kind of iconic in that way more kind of uh Pro Set which is really not very exciting so this 1990s kind of stuff it'll just I'll probably just dump that through auction we'll have a look through and see if there's anything really worthwhile a couple model kits here we've got USS Enterprise space seed Edition okay and it looks like it's maybe somebody looked at some of the parts we didn't put it together that one the Boss Mustang that's still uh in its plastic so probably no issues with that uh okay well what say we don't take the uh Star Wars in and have a look indoors well there is wide variety here in the Star Wars figures that we pulled out I was able to separate uh just for that one box I didn't go through any of the '90s stuff cuz it's not really up my alley but there was a ton of good 1980s star cards there um with the Star Wars figures well you kind of have to go through and find out like where did this little dress come from where do these little Parts go and uh and reattach all the pieces like this little bald dude here or folically uh disinclined he had a little hat and I think yeah there it is right there so you kind of have to go through piece by piece and find all the missing parts and put them back together so um I guess that's what I'm going to do and it looks like there was some figures that were taken apart unfortunately that's a Boba Fett leg and there's another you know there's probably almost all the parts in here to build him up it looks like for some reason there's a Boba Fett arm attached to um the snow trooper body uh I'm going to see just how many other figures are in here that might be able to be reassembled oh look there's his head poor guy I guess maybe that's after the uh the pit got him the giant worm got him uh oh look there's a Yoda complete with his uh snake and cane and the whole thing that's a nice little find so um busy I will be sorting through the uh junk at the bottom here and hoping to figure out what gun goes with what character it's a tedious uh proposition but it's worthwhile because certainly increases the value of the figure to have all the stuff with it too so uh I'm going to be sitting down doing this for the next little while okay I went and dug out all the little tiny guns from the bottom and I'll be darned if they don't look like a lot of them are there what you have to do now is kind of go through look at pictures online which is what I'm doing and then you find a picture of this particular gun you see that it matches the um I think that's the Death Star dude anyway that's his gun and uh see a Chewbacca he very special type of gun that wrapped around his arm I had two Chewbacca two guns so I'm going to keep going keep bagging them up one by one here and um eventually I'll have them all organized and sorted with hopefully uh most of their weapons it's a tedious job but uh frankly I don't mind it makes me feel like a kid again as I'm getting things sorted and bagged up in inventory to figure out what I have R5 D4 R2D2 of course I realized that there is a variant it's the mailway R2-D2 with the popup Periscope which adds quite a bit of value to the figure which you know could be like a $15 figure turns into a $100 figure if it has that pop-up Periscope which this does so I'm going have to be careful when I look through them because there's a few hidden gems here that are a little less common so keep that one aside I'll keep my figures that are complete with all their little guns that I'm finding here in their bags so far so good been able to find a gun for every figure and I'm feeling confident that's my confident thumbs up so after what was hours of sorting all this stuff I found almost every Star Wars figure that they ever made in the 70s and 80s and not only that they all had their little guns their accessories I even found um squid head's skirt was missing found that in the bottom there was an ugot missing his apron that found that um there was a C3PO with removable limbs found all the limbs his little backpack it's actually a really decent lot now there was a couple in there that had been played with and a couple that had mustaches drawn on them I'm looking for them right now but um that aside really happy with this lot today was um over 80 I think something like 89 original Star Wars figures all complete and some accessories and stuff too plus I've got all the sports cards to go through so a pretty good day pretty good haul I've got to get everything down the auction which is where I generally sell my stuff at so um uh that's going to be a whole other situation but I had a lot of fun today so thanks very much for watching today's video uh thank you to the gentleman who sold me your childhood toys I had a lot of fun sorting through it and good on you for keeping all the little bits and not getting them vacuumed up in your bedroom floor uh so guys have a wonderful day we'll see you all soon and as always bye for now oh subscribe you should do that too bye guys
