Rescuing a huge whale from the net. A baby whale asked divers for help

[Music] hello friends the ocean isn't the most friendly place it's full of various dangers that lurk in its depths and the inexperienced baby animals which aren't yet familiar with the world around them get in trouble the most [Music] a humpback whale calf became entangled in fishing nets in an australian city off the gulf coast dozens of similar shark nets are placed along the entire coast of australia these nets are intended to protect swimmers from getting attacked by sharks marine experts however believe that these traps can do more harm than good and are detrimental to the ocean's flora and fauna these shark nets are indiscriminate killers they catch sea turtles dugongs dolphins and whales says oceanologist trevor long this time our hero was the unfortunate one accompanied by its mother a small whale calf got caught in the shark net whales are born tail first to help them stay afloat while their mother pushes them to the surface immediately after birth so they can begin to breathe and don't drown that's exactly what happened in our situation the mother kept regularly pushing the baby whale to the surface so it could take a breath one of the locals was walking on the beach when he noticed the unusual behavior of a whale about 50 meters away from the shore the man immediately called for a rescue boat the rescue team determined that the young mammal was caught in the net and couldn't get out on its own it was a very young whale and it was almost completely tied up in the net its mother stayed close to it and very close to us i sincerely believe that the mother understood that we were helping the calf and not hurting him so she remained calm said the rescue leader trevor long the rescuers began to untangle the trapped whale for the next half an hour the rescue team was cutting through the shark net bringing the baby whale's freedom closer with every meter they cut at first the mother whale tried to help the calf on her own she had remains of the net on her nose and there was a large hole in the net next to the baby whale the rescuers found many abrasions on the injured calf's skin but they believe that there's no threat to its life and health witnesses say that after the rescue the whales almost simultaneously emerged from the water and disappeared into the ocean the next real-life story happened with a group of divers who were heading to a diving site on their way they noticed a young humpback whale desperately jumping out of the water as if asking for help they decided to change their route and check what got the whale so worried that it amazed everyone with its jump when the diver submerged into the water they saw an adult whale pulling a giant net behind it so without thinking twice about it they decided to free the whale after the first attempt to rescue the whale it got scared and began to dive deeper using depth to escape its pursuers the divers waited until the whale came back to the surface and continued to untangle it when the whale emerged near their boat the divers noticed the cuts on its body made by the net and realized that the whale must have been trapped in it for several days already after the divers rescued the whale they accompanied it into the ocean and then something shocking happened it seemed as if the whale thanked the diver by affectionately embracing him with its tail tired but proud of themselves the divers all returned to the boat and began to pull the net out of the ocean its weight turned out to be a ton they took it to the shore [Music] strong-willed people will never hurt animals but they will always come to their rescue so friends like this video and we'll see you next time
