all the music you want throw it on your youtube channel totally free and if you like it then then sign up okay in today's quick tip tuesday we're gonna be talking about removing room echo from your videos or reverb and that's basically just the sound bouncing off of the the hard walls coming back in and you actually hear a bit of that echo in the audio now there's a couple of physical things you can do to treat this we've talked about this before get the microphone nice and close to your mouth by running an extension cable to the microphone putting that on a stand and getting the mic nice and close to your mouth that's probably the number one key to removing room echo but a lot of times you might be kind of running gunning maybe you've got the camera with the mic on top and you walk into a room you're filming someone else they're talking they're six feet away from you and you just hear all that room echo so today we're gonna jump into premiere pro i'm gonna show you the the one effect within premiere pro already built in there drag it on drop it on your clip and it's gone or reduced it doesn't always completely eliminate it it it reduces it so right now i'm gonna check my my audio how does this sound yeah the audio sounds pretty clean right now i can hear let's go ahead and get rid of that music track from epidemic sound that's that's playing underneath this video so you can hear just my clean audio audio little bit of room echo it's slight but i'm going to move the microphone away from me and then it'll it'll exaggerate it a bit more all right now i have the microphone it is above the camera so again about a about an arm's distance away and now i can clearly hear a lot more room echo so let's try this reverb effect on this clip because it is an extreme version of it i hope that you're not filming and getting this much echo in your videos but if you are this will this will at least help this is what my voice sounds like in an echoey room and this is what my voice sounds like with the d reverb turned on okay i have the clip pulled in premiere pro let's dive in here and we'll see how simple this is to remove reverb from any clip all right here we are in premiere pro first let's go ahead and just play the clip as is this is what my voice sounds like in an echoey room and this is what my voice sounds like with the d reverb turned on beautiful so all we're gonna do is go into our effects panel here and just search for d reverb and there it is right there gonna grab that pull it on and and i'm basically done but if i want to tweak it a little bit go up here to the effects controls go down here i can see my d reverb hit edit and a great thing to do here so that you can hear the clip kind of over and over and over again as you're dialing in the effect is go down here to your timeline go to the beginning of the clip and hit i that's going to set an in point and go to the end of the clip and hit o then up here you're going to hit this little guy that says loop playback if you don't have that for some reason hit this little plus sign the button editor make sure to grab loop playback and now if i hit play on my timeline it's just going to play that same portion of the clip over and over and over again as i tweak the effect so i can hear it as it's happening just to see what that sounds like hit play and this is what my voice sounds like with the d reverb turned on and this is what my voice sounds like with the d reverb turned on and this is what my a very helpful bonus tip when you're tweaking audio so let's go into the effects editor up here and you can see that the d reverb by default comes on at 40 hit play voice sounds like with the d reverb turned on and while i'm playing i'm just going to turn off and on by clicking this little button here and this is what my voice sounds like with the d reverb turned on and this is what my voice sounds like with the d reverb turned on and this is what my i'm gonna take it up to 50 and see if we can get away with 50. my voice sounds like with d reverb turned on and this is what my voice sounds like with the d reverb turned on so it's super helpful to kind of hear turn it off and on make sure that there's no weird artifacting happening to the audio and then you can kind of bump it and see how far you can go before things start sounding weird and then in this panel here the processing focus i almost always leave it on focus on all frequencies unless you know the exact frequencies that you're dealing with that you're trying to get rid of i i'm not a pro at this audio stuff so for me i'm just gonna leave it on all frequencies let it do its thing and that's it guys i'm gonna go ahead and right click here i'm gonna get clear my in and out points and let's hear it so this first clip does not have d reverb and the second clip does have d reverb this is what my voice sounds like in an echoey room and this is what my voice sounds like with the d reverb turned on this is what my voice sounds like in an echoey room and this is what my voice sounds like with the d reverb turned on this is what my voice sounds like in an echoey room and this is what my voice sounds like with the d reverb turned on it sounds like you just went under an audio blanket to record a voice over and all you did was put the d reverb effect on your clip and there it is guys quick tip tuesday a super simple effect already built into premiere pro but super powerful in its ability to make your audio sound better and like we've talked about on this channel so many times your audio is as important if not more important than your video quality so i encourage you to spend more time on your audio really listen to your audio with big headphones on grab grab yourself a pair of stereo headphones so that you can listen to your audio as you're editing and then you'll really be able to fine-tune your audio through these headphones and really kind of hone in on those little little things in audio that kind of bug the ears and one of them is echo so get rid of that echo with that d reverb effect very simply in adobe premiere pro boom quick tip tuesday i think that was a new record i think this is the fastest quick tip tuesday ever somebody somebody looked that up for me i'll see you guys soon welcome back to another quick tip tuesday and since today in today's quick tip yeah
