Remove Background Noise in Logic X - Noise gate, Expander - noise reduction

hello guys today I want to talk about the noise floor in the room those always noise in aluminium recording especially in the control room now right now when I'm talking I turn off the noise in the room but I'll turn it back on so now you hear the computer fan a better bet and you also hear some of my hardware equipment that has fans in silent and all this noise floor will come very much up to the day when you start using compressors and effects on the vocal so I want to show you a couple of plugins that you can use in logic to take away noise flow so I want to start with expander it's a opposite of a compressor the compressor takes the peaks down and the low parts up in a volume and evens things out the expander does it differently it expands so the low volume gets lower and high volume gets higher so that's the basics and it works pretty well on noise floor so I'm going to turn on the expander okay so now you still can hear the fan from computer but we're going to try to reduce it so I've start with a ratio bring it down so already you can hear a difference and also I took down threshold now it's starting to work whether it's silent without you can hear the computer know the noise in the room so I have to use expander when I'm recording videos for you guys in this room but if I go into the live room it's dead silent there's no problem with noise in the room there so that is the room where I we call voice overs and artists and everything so I have seen a couple of videos on YouTube but some of you guys are using a noise gates so noise gate is it's like a door that opens and close it opens when I talk and closes when they don't talk so that is the basics so I'm going to tweak a bit here and then we have a listen so take this is science it's what the get is listening for so I've taken about a bit out of the loaves and some of the top and I'm taking threshold a bit up a bit look ahead and now it starts working so when I don't talk it is silent and when I talk the door is open so that is a basic of a gate so it kind of works but when I like take my breath it also opens and shuts and I don't find it so natural I find that the expander it's a much better way to go there are a lot of other third-party plugins that do the same job but you have the same plugins in logic so you can use an expander or a noise gate but I prefer the expander when I talk now the vocal is clear so with an expander I get a more natural type of recording just presses the noise floor in the room down and all the way out so as ever please subscribe please hit me up on social medias and there you can ask me stuff and I can answer them and videos for you guys so I see you later take care
