I am making this video because guys there's an easier simpler way to tie an F G knot and when you tie this knot you don't have to have tension on your line your leader line or your main line you can tie this F G knot with two completely limp lines hey fish and friends JC here with rad reeling fishing okay so some of you guys were suggesting that I use an F G knot to attach my main line to my leader line since I've started using like this extra long leader sometimes like six to ten foot long monofilament leader eighty pound test and some of these areas where I've been fishing where's there's a lot of structure and I've been tying a uni to uni knot to connect the braid to the monofilament line and you guys have been hearing like a clink noise like with the not going through my eyes and it didn't really bother me but you know what from what I understand the FG knot is like the bomb of all knots I mean it is the knot of all knots it is the best freak'n not out there anyway I watched some morning tide videos man if you guys haven't seen the morning tide guys they are so awesome but they do like competitions with their knots and it's really intense and very suspenseful whip lashes into your head so you gotta check that up listen this video I'm making this video because I started researching the F G knot and you know somebody initially told me it takes about four minutes to tie the knot and I thought I mean that's a lot of time to waste tying a knot so I go online and I start researching right how tine FG not right and uh there are these videos where these guys are like they step on the leader line spool and they make the leader line spool tight or they they take the main braid line and they they pull tension from their fishing rod and and all the videos that I looked at they were creating some kind of tension on either one of the lines to tie the knot and I thought you know that's gonna be difficult for me because I do a lot of shore fishing and I'm in sand and it's just like I can't always find places where I can lean my fish and pull up and get tight lines and all that and I kept thinking there's got to be an easier way well then I came across some videos where they were like taking the line and looping it around their fingers and doing this and making this square opening thing and doing that and I'm like god that just seems so complicated there's got to be an easy way to tie an FG not write an easy way not a difficult way and well guess what guys I have like 10 years of experience on the Internet when doing searches and doing keyword searches and and I know how to find things and it took me a long time to find this method for tying an F G knot but I promise you this will be the easiest the simplest the fastest way to tie an F G knot that you have seen yeah and when you tie this knot you don't have to have tension on your line your leader line or your main line you can tie this FG knot with to completely limp lines let braid line and limp leader line you know so let's get to me showing you guys how to do this I am in no way a professional on tying knots I just learned how to tie this but I am making this video because guys there's an easier simpler way to tie an F G knot okay and you guys got to be blown away whenever you see the way that I've learned to tie this FG knot I'm only tied like 20 of them and I'm actually getting pretty darn fast at at 2 min it works so listen thanks you guys for suggesting you know I when you make suggestions that you know hey you should try an F G dot and so then I started doing the research and I decided to just take some time and do some practice and figure this thing out I got it figured out so I'm bringing it to you guys the easiest simplest way to tie an FG not let the knot-tying begin okay I've got some sixty pound test monofilament leader here a little bit curly on the end I'm going to just kind of pull on that see if I can get it to straighten out a little bit all right that's about as good as it's gonna get I've got some braid line here and then peel off some of that alright so the line going in that direction is going to be as if it was coming from my fishing pole and this is the line that I'm going to attach the end that I'm going to attach to the leader line alright the leader line I want to grab the leader line about three and a half to four inches from the end I'm going to pinch it like that the braid I want to take o come up to about maybe 10 to 14 inches and pinch the braid I want to take the braid and lay it on top of the monofilament creating a cross like that and I had the two pieces of line pinched between my fingers so now what we're going to do is we're going to alternate wraps with the main line and the tag end on the braid okay so the main line of the braid we start first we're pinching the two together with our fingers here we go underneath the leader line and then pull it back as you pinch with your fingers kind of pull it back in that direction just pulling it tight then take your tag end on the braid do the same thing from underneath wrap it all the way around the leader line and then pull it tight back in that direction as you're pinching tight in the middle we want to do this ten times with the main line and ten times with the tag ends so that's one underneath all the way around to underneath all the way around to underneath all the way around three underneath all the way around three and I'm just keeping a nice tight pinch here as I'm pulling that not tight so six six [Music] eight eight nine nine ten ten all right take a look at that nice tight wrapped FG pattern on the leader line so now I want to take the tag end of the braid I'm going to tie two half hitch knots around both the braid and the leader line so there's one you want these knots to be on top your FG or not so that's one to half hitch knots I'm going to just kind of scrunch that that pattern not together with my fingernails a little bit all right I'm gonna pull on the tag end at the braid here just pull that down a little bit now I'm going to tie two half hitch half hitch knots on the main braid line with the tag end of the braid so there's one half inch not my second half it's not I think the half hitch knots for the most difficult part of this because I'm not using my teeth if I wasn't making the video I'd be using my teeth that would be easier now I'm just gonna pull on the both ends of the braid I'm just gonna pull that tight like that we've got a nice tight knot there next thing I want to do is take the leader line I'm just going to pull it through that not just a little bit give me a little bit extra maybe five or six inches now I'm going to sense this knot down by pulling on the main braid line in the main leader line so I'm just going to take this braid wrap it around my hand I'm not concerned I've never been cut by braid I'm going to wrap the leader line around and yeah I'm going to just pull I'm gonna sense that thing down nice and tight and just jerk on that thing a little bit pull it down nice and tight that's good right there I mean that's that's a nice tight knot next thing I'm gonna do I'm gonna cut off my monofilament I'm gonna leave about a quarter of an inch on my monofilament there I'm gonna cut off the tag end the braid you can cut that off leave about a quarter of an inch now I am going to double check that knot again last thing in the world that I want to happen is to lose a fish because I had not failure I've had that happen too many times in my life actually had that happened the other day I lost I hate what I didn't lose a fish I lost a rig because I my knot was just it was cut a little bit too close to the hook okay so I'm just double-checking this thing again I am just pulling that nice and tight getting those coils locked in good on the monofilament I'm gonna trim that monofilament back just a little bit more now careful not to cut the braid line all right and there you go I've got that monofilament probably a sixteenth of an inch sticking through and that's how you tie really fast F G knot without stepping on the spool to create tension on the leader line or pulling tension on your main line from your fishing pole both of those lines were limp and that's a really fast way to to tie an F G knot you guys so thumbs up or appreciated I knew there had to be a faster easier and better way a very simple way to tie an F G knot without having to step on spools and pull line tension and all that and there it is that's it guys [Music]
