today we're going to talk about setups because clearly mine is the best there's ever been never mind the food bag or the hand sanitizer or the napkins or the dirty tail or the folding tables for that matter or failure coins no it's my savings right there [Music] evga is proud to announce their latest z490 for the win motherboard for the latest intel 10th gen core processors all new features including a 14 phase digital vrm power design wi-fi 6 4k hdmi port for onboard graphics and dual switchable bios make the z490 for the wind a full featured motherboard for your next build to see the full list of specs follow the link in the description below we've been in this new studio now for more than a year and we are still on these same folding tables that we bought as temporary work tables for when we were building the sets and then they became our desks and they are still that way phil and i both had really nice setups at the old studio that we still have not moved over here so i figured how else should i become inspired by none other than raiding your setups we're gonna we're gonna write some setups today so as i as i transition into my actual like nice setup over here so this is gonna be interesting i've never done anything like this before i don't know exactly what i'm supposed to say and i don't know if i mean am i supposed to roast them it's probably gonna be some jokes i gave you guys ammo at the start so you know i took that ammunition away made fun of myself already but i also have a pretty badass setup too i mean i built that earlier this year so i kind of know what i'm doing i mean i think it looks alright [Music] uh [Music] so i initially wanted to just do one where i gave you guys tips and tricks but i know the kite the type the kind of personality that that i am i'm gonna i'm gonna probably make some jokes and i don't mean to hurt anyone's feelings feel free you guys make fun of me all the time so it's fair but i'm gonna probably look at some really awesome ones for inspiration i am looking for some inspiration here what we can do in our editing den because we definitely need to do something in there i kind of want to have like maybe a tv like we had our old studio have some xbox playstation hooked up in there when the new stuff comes in we obviously are going to cover consoles probably bring a couch in um make it a good place to go when i'm in trouble at home just so i can come here and have all my amenities that i need although i need a refrigerator or i'm screwed and a microwave and hot pockets you guys want to see me make a video on how to make a hot pocket then make sure you comment that you want me to make that video and maybe i will anyway i'm just going to scroll through and see what catches my attention because the tweet that i put out on twitter because let's face it i'm an old guy that's the boomer that's the boomer platform i don't do the tick tocks or the grams very well i'm just going to scroll through and kind of see what grabs my attention if i scroll past your build don't take it personally there's there's over 525 responses to this and growing and only a couple of hours apparently i didn't think many people would want to see me do this because a lot of people do it for a living i'm just a guy doing a thing today so we're gonna go and start with joey uh cuddy2287 very long time follower of mine hey joey how you doing um i think this is a a phanteks into i'm not sure which case i think it might be the one of the earlier ones and through primo that's it i think it's an enthus primo just based on this window and what i see right here at the psu shroud so he's obviously got some rigid tubing going these are bits power fitting so i'm assuming this is a 10 by 12 millimeter tubing he's got some orange pastel type fluid in there let me know how that holds up over time i've never had orange not gunk up or clog up or turn brown you've been following along enough to know you got some nice cable managed cables here clear combs the cables obviously fit your theme you painted your sp fans rings to match there's only a couple things i think i would change here and i don't think i'm gonna tell you anything you don't already know those gpus being on their hybrid loops really kind of take away from the total effort you put into this build now this isn't an enthus primo case like i believe that it is you have plenty of room to do another loop a dedicated loop to just the gpus if you didn't want to redo the cpu loop and have a single loop for three blocks that's about the only thing i could potentially say would make this look way better get yourself a bottom rad here i know there's a radio room radio radiator in the front you're using the right up top for your cpu it's at least a 360 rad maybe a 420 and yeah i would get rid of those hybrid coolers not that they don't do their job it's taking away from your aesthetic you clearly put effort into all right so big man here says he's 15 he earned all the money to build it himself moe and lawns good job there i i mean it's i i feel bad giving you any sort of critique but nonetheless good job for earning it yourself with that said don't take a picture of your system with the side panel on and the flash on because as you can see that made it very bad to kind of see what's going on in here not to mention the flash shining on a black case like that always makes it look worse than it actually does um but with that said your cable management needs work um you already know that though i'm assuming because rx 578 gig ryzen 5 3600 at stock asus tough gaming x570 plus you definitely went with a higher end motherboard than you needed to very solid system plans to upgrade his gpu at christmas yeah if you look at this case right here though you have plenty of room to hide these wires so you've got this rear case fan cable coming all the way down around here and plugging it at the bottom when i can actually see an available fan header right here on the top and it has more than enough room to run up through the hole right here that your eps power is running through and come back out this hole right here to plug in very cleanly you've got your 24 pin coming up through right here on the side the big opening in the front which is for mounting a radiator and fans that's why it's got that big opening there it's not for cables you have plenty of room right here on the side you got one two three open grommets right here that you could what run both the 24 pin and the pcie power to your graphics cards and hide those cables and then i'm almost certain there's at least one opening down here at the bottom of the power supply that would allow you to run these bottom cables here it looks like you're running the um hd power the hd audio cable there you've got sata going you could hide all these cables very easily if you took a little bit extra time with that and then these stickers you you committed to using the stickers probably because you're proud of them but they're crooked and they're not aligned i think that alone takes off a few points in terms of aesthetics but with that said your first build you built it yourself you didn't you didn't have somebody give you the money so regardless you're winning that's a really clean build but a lot of craziness kind of going on here a lot of white going on here but your noctua fans and your red and white cables really kill it black and white cables with not noctuas would make it look better you actually did a good job right here with the water cooling in in the sense that you use the spacer so what that does is gets the fan hub away from the radiator which gives you a better amount of surface area of the radiator touching air moving through it rather than having the hub be flush against the rad blocking all those those spots from getting air flow through it you have corsair fans on one side and noctua on the other so one of two things is happening here either your noctua is moving more air than the corsairs can and so therefore they are being slowed down physically by the fans that can't exhaust the air as much or your corsair is trying to pull more air than the noctuas can and the same thing's going to happen they're going to probably potentially speed up the noctua because they're being assisted and then what's gonna you could potentially damage the bearing over time by over spinning them um if you're gonna do push-pull just match the fans on both sides it looks like you have a loop temperature um screen right there careful with those i don't know which brand that is but we had one catch fire on us but besides that it looks like you have a lot of water flow too because the amount of turbulence going through this particular um reservoir is kind of insane right there that's an alpha cool yeah it's phrased it out sideways so i would maybe raise the water level some so you can get rid of that unless you like it sounding like an aquarium then you can do that too uh ajm430 oh he's put a lot of time and effort into this i like the fact that he's got two different monitors here and as such he doesn't have his curved aoc monitor here butted up against his lg monitor that is wall mounted with a cable track without them being next to each other i'm not triggered by them being two different panels that are next to each other which is if i'm gonna do a multiple panel setup they have to be the same i can't do it otherwise what's killing me here is you've you've got a very a very basic nice layout you've got your alex drawers with your desk top on here from ikea you got your little rubber pads on there to keep it from sliding around good job you've got this cable sleeve and then you just gave up something tells me you tried to manage this at one point and you went you know what whatever i quit you clearly have an ikea near you and for five bucks they actually sell cable management mounts that you can put underneath your desk you can just clump all that up on there go down to the hardware store get yourself a piece of wood have them cut it a lot of people know this most hardware stores will do cuts on the wood that you buy from them so if you buy a big sheet of plywood or mdf or whatever you say can i get a cut this length this length they'll do it for you there you don't even have to have a table saw and i would cut it to the same size opening as the top of the desk and the width so you basically measure like this opening right to the floor that big square because it's the same as the front and the back and then i would either mount it with something as simple as velcro um you can get an l bracket and screw it in if you want but what that allows you to do is paint it to match your desk and then you just build a false wall to hide all those wires although you screwed yourself i thought that's where the plug in the wall was it's not that's his power strip that he mounted to the wall by his feet so not only are you at the risk of unplugging something with your foot you ran an extension cord from over here to over here i mean you could have made it go over here at least next to the next to the alex desk and then you could have shoved all those wires behind it or life hack it and just shove all the wires into the bottom drawer on that right side yeah absolutely he could have done that drill a hole in the back and then yeah i was going to go easy on you thinking you were you were kind of screwed by the location of that plug until i realized you screwed yourself with that move that plug what's wrong with you david just says david 3700x 5700 xt 32 gigs of ram and that mess to go with it that hot mess you know the interesting thing about this setup is it's clean i mean you have one small i think you essentially have the same desk i have right here to be honest it's the exact same desk it's ikea desk you got some pixar lamps sort of shining around right here it looks like you have one directly pointing at your face that's probably not you should defuse that light a little bit at least if you're live streaming with that thing pointing at your face plus your eyes will thank you later i'm curious as to why you have the desk poking out in the middle of the room exposing all that wiring and you have this like dresser here up against the window to me that doesn't seem like a very efficient use of the space but regardless maybe there's something going on behind there which you're using as a backdrop for your live stream that i can't see i have no idea how big the room is i think your wire management is probably as good as you can do based on what you've got but it would be better if they were up against the wall is about the only critique i have there i i i gotta give garrett or tencyon tension i got the tension no the o is a zero it's 10c 0n i love that he just says i don't have the bandwidth to pretend my desk is clean he says he typically keeps it clean but four months of quarantine has killed his motivation wow okay i'm not gonna lie i think any gamer's desk looks like this at some point especially if you do any games that involve raiding we've got one two three four five six seven eight nine ten cans of squirt coca-cola and diet a and w we've got two starbuck cups noob we've got at least one del taco cup i think this is a dough taco cup i'm not sure oh that's taco bell yeah a bottle of something brown and alcoholic i don't know what it is but i approve already in a guitar what's killing me here is his victoria's secret bag back here in the corner and that jumbled massive network cable moving on boom if anyone ever wonders what i used to look like i looked like i ate phil i was like i don't feel bad about it dude you look like you ate me and you currently fun fact you wanna know why i'm wearing a flip-flop because this is when i rolled my ankle so bad picking up that pizza look at my hair look how brown it is oh man youtube and daughters look what they've done to me anyway not gonna lie your desk is way too cluttered for me i do approve of the the beer the drink beer fridge down here i really need to get one in my office sick i'm so sick of going up and down stairs to get food i don't want to exercise when i'm trying to go get my drinks and stuff i just want to lean down kick my feet back and drink i don't want to have to go up and down stairs especially since yesterday brian and i well i at least i was drunk warcrafting so that was fun but anyway and i'm a tank so that made it really interesting moving on i like he's got his i don't know if he set that there just for the photo or if he permanently leaves his pedals in his wheels there he's clearly european because he's sitting on the right side of the shifter or i should say the wrong side of the shifter too much going on here he's got his batteries i don't know what this thing is looks like some sort of a catapult um decent speakers though but too much too much like thingage happening regardless he wins over mine because he has the beer fridge chevelle's gaming okay so it's another amd system so many amd systems so asus prime x470 ryzen 5 2600 um of course our h100i that's clean that's very very clean i'm not digging the 240 push forward in an exhaust fan behind it so this is showing his desktop i cannot game with glass desks i do this too much god damn it i cannot game with a glass desk hey please world of warships all right you're awesome we're fine michael hussley his first hard line and then mini itx build i like this he's got some titan rig stuff going on in there it's very clean any system that's exposed like this on where you can't have less room to hide anything that's definitely dope i like how he's using the evga um i can't remember what it's called but it's the the deal that you can use to plug in is it power link yeah so he moved the power cables more to the back which made it cleaner obviously this is actually a really nice system i like i wish i could see the other sides of it though stefan mit f so i wonder if he's german because mit means with so stefan with f is her name start with an f anyway that's creepy right who's your girlfriend i would love to i would love to hear back from you your videos got me motivated building this pc in the first place so i mentioned in your videos would be a highest of honor well you've got the highest of honors sir 3700x power cooler rx 590 as a placeholder 16 gigs 3200 rm750x corsair that's not bad he's soft tubing but it looks all right it looks good a very efficient use of space that's actually really good i like how he used tubing to prop up the sagging gpu right there but you know what it works like that pump is perfect for that spot look at that huh how about this one gamersnexus giving jay a compliment he says honestly i think that the format of this video fits your approach and content personality great you could probably provide a lot of insightful commentary on custom water setups that people would enjoy hearing thanks steve and i think you could probably do a lot of great hair tips i'm not even saying that as a joke having met steve in person many times he takes it very serious you guys joke around around about him having his own hair brand at some point i bet you it's in the works okay this guy is clearly into dragon ball z he's got it on the back plate he's got the characters he's got a whole fight scene going on inside of his computer i wonder if he made the rgb or the ram blue to light up the fireball because the fireball what but i do like that he's using that light to light it up and this guy's just over here like over 9000 or something like that i don't know i think he's the one that goes over 9000 i don't know it's not much but it's mine he says oh here's the rest of his not much but it's mine um again cable management on the floor oh okay things move around too often to fully cable management do your worst it's not bad i maybe put something on this wall hey he's got the random extension cords going across the floor like we do these monitors are killing me they're three different monitors side by side it's getting worse as we go on he's got a glass of hazy sitting there on the table so there's i mean there's that at least hey look at that hey it's the shift x if the shift was me then that's the yeah if the shift is you this is the me one that caught our attention because shift uh phil has a shift and this is a shift x obviously it's fully water cooled with a possibly a 240 rad in there here's a full room here here's my gaming streaming setup also includes an elgato 460 a 4k60 pro oculus rift blue yeti mic elgato stream deck philips hue light bar i'm moving soon so i gave up on most of the cable management hope you enjoy well i like his floating um deal here unfortunately that camera cable though that's a bit rough but you know for someone that said he doesn't care about the cable management it doesn't look bad like i mean it's clearly all down there why did he go around that way and then come back like what i would have done on that i mean he says he's moving but he can still incorporate this in his new place use the edges of the picture frames as much as you can like i would have just like right up behind the monitor underneath this and then kind of like tucked it real tight and then right up the side of this i mean that's what i would change i like that he's got a pedestal for the desk that's on the or the pc that's on the carpet so it's up off the floor not picking up dust or carpet or junk from there i mean look how put together the system is itself it's cable managed we could probably do a little better work here with the fans up front not bad the student recently decided to build a new desk after seeing your video about the ikea car will be and that's not my idea that's like that's been like the go-to tech youtuber desk combo forever is the car standard yeah it's like the car will be with the little feet on top of the alex drawers it's like the most go-to you'll never find a desk that gives you that much space for that price anywhere else that's why people do it again three different monitors i get it i mean monitors aren't cheap i just personally can't that's i went back to i'd rather go with a single monitor like i could have gotten two monitors in my new setup at home and i thought about doing it we talked about going massive desks to do the big monitors but because i didn't have two of the same ones that i wanted to use i just went with a single monitor at that point because i'd rather have one monitor than ones that don't match that's just me i like the purple and blue lighting that's a really go-to color for people's like gaming setups this is this is starting to look like something you'd see in like a promo piece although with obviously they would use a better camera but the way it's like floating on the wall with that thermaltake wall mounted system he's got cable management here who is this this is sparky all right so sparky's got a wall mounted thermaltake case right here obviously it's all white very well themed very well cable managed he's got a cable track coming down ikea beckett corner desk here i do like this because his monitors are not matched stacked doesn't trigger me like side by side does the reason why i didn't go stacked obviously my setup is because i put shelves above my monitor or my monitor there and so i couldn't do that but this is very clean i like the edge lighting on the desk very traditional way of lighting up and giving yourself some ambient light right there yeah i think that's a very clean setup for what it is i wish i could have seen a little bit from the lower angle maybe there's all kinds of wires hanging down we can't see but it appears right there with the way everything sort of comes out right here that he does have it actually cable managed so good job on that cable managed underneath desk non-matching monitors but two of them match so they're on either side flanking the bigger panel that works for me um this is clearly in like an open living space so this is like in a living room or something not really like a bedroom um i like the wood tone looks very nice very clean very well managed i like it i also like that his tree is on casters so i want the tree over here today just move it around uh remco borst oh check that out he's got a kansas license plate and a an old uh chevelle i think it's a shallow maybe a malibu chilling here inside the case look you can it's so tidy and i like the way he used this metal trim like this metal uh corner stock type trim to okay this guy so far has one of the cleanest setups aesthetically like pleasing this is uh parker lane there we go again stacked monitors i would have put the bigger one on the bottom oh no they go the top was a tv so yeah he put the actual predator monitor down at the bottom where it belongs a lot of a lot of clutter going on here though although i think you know that already cable management's kind of not good but you've got stuff under there too so it at least sort of detracts from your eyes being brought right to the cable management mess i would just clean this up a little bit honestly this guy i only have the desk but i can't afford the top i'll build a computer in october dude nice cable management best cable management yet no nope we can see one right here nope there we go so here's the real traditional car will be top with the alex desk which is what i did right only i did two of them side by side and anchored them together um and i obviously use white alex desks uh or um drawers lefty in the house nice hey yeah brian would approve oh there we go look at that not a single wire to be seen guys see is it that hard you've got two monitors speakers keyboard mouse system not a wire to be seen who is this sven it would be a sven a sven would do that i mean the only thing obviously that i can complain about is that they're two different panels side by side you know but that that's that's about it so this is a guy clearly that's got his hobbies in order so clearly this guy's a gamer and a musician i can personally count one two three four guitars there's probably more we can't see off to the side right here he's got his stool which you know obviously you sit and play i assume he records um because we see a scarlet right here i see an amp pedal and a really old school alarm clock i love it whoa is that yeah i used to have that same one back when i was like five johnny kane santos just sounds like a musician what's your name johnny kane santos not john not johnny just johnny sane cantos johnny kane's johnny all right so this is digibit gaming uh my stream content creation station cables have been better managed since pick all right so first off this looks like this is a custom desk of some sort real wood which is already nice i don't know if this is a his and hers or just a multiple desk setup of his own so that's a real clean setup and if we pan to the right right here you can see it's a wrap around quite the big mixer board but i also like his retro gaming setup here so clearly he's also set up to live stream these old snes nes um looks like he's i see a wii oh dude he's got the super scope six in super nintendo one wow oh here we go oh yeah there's the genesis he's got the genesis n64 that's gamecube and 64. at the cube that plays games that said n64 no there's the n64 snes gamecube the original wii uh genesis and looks like ps2 i don't see a playstation one interesting all right very i love that's a nice setup this guy submitted a video just so you know when you start in portrait you got to stay in portrait oh zach whoa i love how it's just straight up got a frozen pizza just chilling right there in a bingo okay this is the realest photo we've seen this is this guy this is like i-d-g-a-f oh it's street guru you son of a you're trolling me aren't you there's no way you need to move into an rv trailer eventually guru if this is actually your setup send proof i need to know that this is actually yours i mean what are you doing in here i mean that pizza looks good shut up about the pizza there are bigger issues here look at all the hot pocket cases what is the hot pockets over here i had a feeling it was gonna be someone that's been following me for a long time yeah he's he's an og i'm sorry but if you took me away okay jake i'm in his space right now i'd just be like i can't i can't but i i just can't personally do that that's interesting monitor soundbar monitor it's like a audio visual oreo all right i'm going to look for something right now that truly triggers me what was i just saying about matching monitors this one's half hanging off the desk uh his cable management is ever okay this one really hurts to look at sorry noah talking about how that's your ultimate trigger right there that's your three i can't handle the cables over there hey he copied our folding desk though our little folding tables he's got the deal with it sunglasses too right here so i feel like he's trolling me at this point deal with it mother of god that wallpaper [Laughter] huh there's so many colors going on i mean okay i don't know if he chose the wallpaper or if this is just the room he ended up in but he tied his color theme of his system into it so you got this very teal kind of a cyan sort of a color going with the flowers on the wall and he really tied that in right here with his loop build and then you've got the tie-dye kind of uh you got this color going on here good lord your cable management though i don't know if people realize just how much cable management makes or breaks a setup but look how many wires are hanging down to the floor this is just there there but you know what though the wallpaper really does camouflage the cables because it's got the wheel going everywhere if they were like the same gray as the flower stems yeah that would be that would be the ultimate cable bench he's over there right now going ha ha i planned it that way so here's his rig right here this is a thermaltake case slabs inspired case no it's clean i like it it's a very good system i just your setup is triggering me with the wallpaper and the cables but hey we make do with what we've got right all right we'll kind of end things here with ryan uh let her rip tater chip is his twitter handle what does that dumpster do he says he made this case from trash he found in the garage it's pvc paint stir sticks and broken acrylic whoa that's actually pretty cool look at that so you can see the way he used the pvc to make a frame and then he used pieces of wood to like kind of squish it dude broken acrylic for side panels literally just used paint stick stirrers and made cross platform like cross pieces to mount the itx motherboard too actually no it's a micro atx but still it's a load-bearing motherboard yeah it is all right so that's where we're going to go ahead and end it um i underestimated how difficult this would actually be my head hurts a little bit because you force yourself to look at some things that otherwise would trigger you you know i guess trigger you like chao management and some of this stuff um some really good ideas for me though and then hopefully some suggestions for you guys if you guys want me to do this maybe like once a month i don't want to turn it into like those channels that are just all about reading people's setups i just thought it'd be fun to do this as i was kind of in between some content right now i got some changes i need to make to my setup at home things i want to improve so maybe i'll video log that like there's some changes i want to make to that light that that glow top that i made for the tv stand and then my daughter is with her new computer that she wants probably an opportunity for a new set up there too that way it's a dual purpose study at home also game at home which is now obviously a lot of kids having to work or not work but learn remote it'd be nice to have a nicer set up there for her now that she's older and actually keeps her room clean so with that said guys thanks for watching and maybe we'll do in the future as we'll come up with a few different versions of this like setups in the most disrepair that need the most help and maybe we'll kind of see if we can get some sponsors involved to maybe pick a winner and send some stuff to them i don't know how we're gonna do that yet but i think it'd be fun subscribe if you're not so you can stay tuned for that sort of content and as always guys we'll see you in the next one
