so what makes an Assassin's Creed game good beyond the story The backdrop and the main characters the importance of Side characters cannot be overstated from characters like Leonardo da Vinci to use of tazm to James kid there's just so many incredible Side characters in the series so what I've done is gathered 20 of the best side characters I could think of and I'm going to rank them from worst to best but here's the thing these 20 characters are all my favorite so ranking them is going to be a bit difficult but I'm down for the challenge so without further Ado let's get right into it all right let's start off with 20th Place and I've gone with Marcos from Assassin's Creed Odyssey Marcos is one of the First characters you meet in the game right after Phoebe he's a lively Merchant enjoying life on the island of calonia and in a way he's kind of like a father figure to Cassandra as he took her under his wing when she was just a child the reason I've included Marcos in my list of 20 Side characters is because of his eccentric and money-driven personality he's a wine loving and humorous guy who often finds himself in trouble due to his quick money schemes causing headaches with the island locals and even the big boss the Cyclops maros has this mobster likee gangster Vibe but underneath it all he has a soft sight he's always on the lookout for the next big opportunity to strike it rich and that's what makes him an interesting character even his quest sign was a lot of fun you know I've said in previous videos on this channel that imagine if maros was the leader of the order of ancients now to me that would have made the story of odyssey's order of ancients a 100 times better what many people might not know is that maros is not just a character confined to kefalonia you can actually find him on the island of C where there's a whole side quest involving him which I found quite enjoyable I cannot rank maros any higher in this list because he's not a central character who sticks around for the entire game so he lands at the 20th spot which is not bad at all there's just 19 Side characters that I prefer over [Music] him now in 19th Place would you look at that it's another Assassin's Creed Odyssey side character but but this time it's Al cabiadis or however you pronounce that I have to hand it to Ubisoft they've done such a great job making Side characters interesting in these newer RPG games except for and Al cabiadis is no exception while many might find him somewhat annoying I personally love his character if you don't know Al cabiadis is a side character that's based on the real historical figure where he was a public speaker a politician and a general and during the Peloponnesian War he was one of the leading figures so the fact that Ubisoft implemented him into the game is pretty good now his character in the game is very um how can you say unusual he acts carefree and a straight of funloving party animal with an unusually high sexual nature this kind of annoyed me a bit but strangely in a in a good way I will give very high credit for his portrayal because I'm pretty sure they got his spot on with how the real life alcadis once was our first encounter with him in the game is short but it's definitely memorable because even though it was short his entire personality shown just from from that encounter he's a pretty Sly character totally ignoring the rules and basically everything else and the game really shines a light on that we don't often see characters like this in the series so it's definitely different than what we come to expect alabad this's quest lines and Assassin's Creed Odyssey were quite enjoyable but I do wish there were more of them after all in Real History he had an incredibly eventful life so perhaps he could have been involved with the order of ancients or opened up an entirely new storyline so Al cabiadis to me stands out as one of the most unusual p characters in the entire series and that's exactly why I found it so enjoyable oh and now that I think about it doesn't he remind you of Prince Charming from Shrek he certainly gave me that Vibe okay for my 18th favorite I've decided to venture into the modern day of Assassin's Creed and there are a few Side characters in the modern day that are fairly interesting Lucy Stillman is one of those characters we meet Lucy Stillman in Assassin's Creed 1 and her story lasts all the way until Assassin's Creed Brotherhood at first Lucy is just a character that rescued Desmond from abstergo and moved into a hideout where he joined his fellow assassins Shawn and Rebecca if you were paying attention to the modern day of the early Assassin's Creed games you could tell there was a relationship starting to form between Desmond and Lucy and I was pretty invested in it I'm not going to lie that was until she got killed off in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood because of her quote unquote true allegiance to the Templars it still is to this day one of the biggest shocks of the entire series and nobody expected it but still it happened as a character Lucy was interesting even though her true loyalty was with the Templars she seemed to genuinely care for and show compassion to her team and her lingering remorse regarding clay continued to affect her until her actual death in Brotherhood her emotions towards Desmond seemed authentic to the extent that Warren Village felt the need to caution her to not let them interfere with their objective it's just a shame that she had to be killed off oh and here's something for you to think about Lucy used the password Juno 57 for her email account and this later turned out to be a bit of foreshadowing as it was Juno who ultimately compelled Desmond to kill her so yeah now that you know that completely irrelevant fact Lucy Stillman for me is at 18th I should note that later on in this video there's another modernday side character that I've included in this video I'm sure you could tell who that is spoiler alert it's not Rebecca crane now let's get back to the world of assassins in 17th place I've gone with Laval the mysterious man in Renaissance Italy now personally I found Laval's character to be on the more unusual site my opinions of him changed quite a lot after learning about the whole Laval eyes thing if you don't know what I'm referring to there's apparently some rumors that Laval is a superhuman in 1467 there were reports of him being spotted on the rooftops of the palaso deoria the palaso medich and the basilla de Santa cross all at the same time in Florence during the same night rumors even suggested that he had immortality and that his purple violet eyes had the ability to see through solid structures I've talked more about this in my Iceberg video if you want to check that out anyway when it comes to Laval during the actual games he's a side character that I really enjoyed every time he appeared on the screen he was unusually agile and always arrived at destinations before iio did despite being considerably older he was quite literally the definition of an assassin hidden in plain sight all whil being incredibly stealthy at the same time lval was a side character that was always cautious which is what I like about him throughout the story of Assassin's Creed Brotherhood he had immediate suspicions of Nicolo when he began to act a bit sus and he was trusted Etso it was a bit disappointing that we didn't get to see him in Assassin's Creed Revelations he was one of the only few Side characters I enjoyed in both Assassin's Creed 2 and Brotherhood and his sudden disappearance from the franchise was a bit annoying but nevertheless as an actual side character for the games that we know him in he was pretty good speaking of a side character that appeared in both games but tal Mayu is the next side character I've included in this video now I don't know I know about you but this particular side character was so underrated in the ETO Trilogy he was a part of the Italian Brotherhood of Assassins and served as the leader of the Venetian and Roman mercenaries now what stands him apart is his hilarious personality despite being considered as a somewhat big brute he does not really have that stereotypical aggressive personality that a big brute would have he had a very interesting relationship with Bianca Bianca is his sword by the way and his connection with it was so wild to the extent that he desperately called and scoured his pillage headquarters in Venice in search of it as if he was searching for a person I remember when I first saw that scene I was thinking what the actual but he soon turned into one of my favorite characters in both Assassin's Creed 2 and Brotherhood he always had one of those one liners that makes him amusing and you could tell he wasn't the smartest of people now circling back to bal's sword Bianca I can't help but feel like there's a missed opportunity when it comes to including it as a collectible in later games of the series it would have been especially cool to find it as a collectible in Revelations perhaps it could have made its way to Paris being discovered by Arnold alternatively Edward could have purchased it and the Fred twins might have stumbled upon it in his mansion in London the fact that such a memorable weapon in moment from the SEO games was never made available as a collectible kind of surprises me a bit come in come in I'll kill you if you don't okay now we approaching the top 15 and that 15th Place I've gone with the side character that is Mario aitor we first en counter Mario doing the escape sequence in Assassin's Creed 2 and he quickly becomes one of those characters that you can't help but like he's the one who gave us that iconic introduction do I know you from somewhere don't you recognize me it's a me Mario and from that moment on he became a memorable character in Assassin's Creed 2 however his role in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood was shortlived due to well you know the way things played out but for Assassin's Creed 2 he's a character that was quite interesting if you think about it without Mario it's would even become the Assassin we all know Mario provided him with a home the entire town of monteron training and a second Father Figure after the loss of his own father what did kind of annoy me a bit was the lack of remorse shown by the characters when Mario met his fate at the beginning of Brotherhood this felt like a result of ubisoft's lackluster writing failing to give recognition to such a memorable character throughout Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and Revelations there was a noticeable absence of the respect and reverence what might expect with Mario's memory almost as if Etso regarded his death as if it was just a stranger dying Mario had a very distinct fashion sense often containing the extravagant attire typical of Italian nobility during the Renaissance a very noticeable feature was the scar running across his left eye an eye that he had lost family held a special place in Mario's heart and he took immense pride in his assassin lineage his relationship with his brother Giovani as indicated in a letter and their differing fighting styles suggested a playful yet critical Dynamic much like the one between is's brother federo and himself I Lov the relationship between both ETO and Mario and it felt heartfelt my only issue as I mentioned before was how youself neglected the aftermath of his death okay now this is an interesting one could you even class Nial as a side character because spoiler warning in 3 2 1 we know nihal is not even a real person but rather the manifestation of Loki within the mind of his reincarnation bassum but for the sake of this being my video I can do what I want I'm going to place nihal as a side character and their 14th Place now first let's take out the thought of Nial not even being real and insert the thought that she's a side character throughout the entire game within bim's mind nihal was a fell Thief who grew up alongside him on the streets of Baghdad during the midnight Century she was a character that you could always tell careed for bassim but at the same time she was the only person to be aware of bassim struggles okay you know what thinking of it now it's kind of hard to talk about Nial because no matter what I say there's the idea that it's bim's own thoughts anyway the character character of nihal was seen as a stubborn loner I wonder why she and Basim shared the bond like no other I wonder why again and the relationship becomes affected of you know what I can't do this let's just move [Music] on now moving on from whatever just happened previously let's discuss 13th Place and that's Henry green I'm not sure if this is considered controversial because many people may rank Henry green quite high but for me 13 Place feels about right Henry green is the first in the frights meet when they arrive in London and right from the beginning you get a sense that he'll be a valuable Ally throughout Assassin's Creed Syndicate and he certainly was in fact he became the mentor to b Jacob and eeve fry what makes his character enjoyable is how relatable his backstory is being forced to leave his homeland yet managing to thrive despite of the adversity his intelligence and role as a scholar for the Brotherhood are essential aspects of his character and I can easily say that without Henry's contribution the story of Assassin's Creed Syndicate would have been drastically different if you don't don't know Henry green is actually the son of abaz Mia a kashmiri master Assassin of the Indian Brotherhood and also the main protagonist of the other Assassin Creed game named Assassin's Creed Chronicles India in some aspects he kind of felt like the third protagonist because he was often always involved in missions and his help was pretty important I mean after all he did get knighted by Queen Victoria at the end of the game alongside the Fred twins oh and he also got married to EV fry which you can actually see in a cut scene that many people don't get to witness because you need to collect all of the flowers throughout the map so if you collected them with Jacob fry then that sucks to be you the relationship between Henry and Evee was quite evident throughout the entire game and I'm glad it ended on a positive note considering ubisoft's Tendencies I'm honestly quite surprised they did not kill off Henry green needlessly as they've done with some others at least anyway Henry green is one of those side characters who thanks to his unique backstory and his father's identity could be further explode in a future Assassin's Creed game or perhaps even have his own spin-off now personally I take anything at this point but for now as a side character he's a solid choice for me in this video and 13 Place feel fitting okay now in 12th Place I've gone with Sophia Sato as a side character that I liked this might be a surprise as I don't often see sopia's character get talked about much mainly because Revelations were heavily carried by Etso and aler however sfia deserves some of the spotlight born in 1476 Sofia was a Bookshop owner in Venice with a strong passion for literature she originally held from Constantinople where her parents were Venetian but due to the outbreak of the Ottoman Venetian conflict in 1499 sfia and her family were forced to leave the city so in Assassin's Creed Revelations this is where she meets ETO and the rest is history from there both of them get married and they were going on to have two children but as a side character in Assassin's Creed Revelations her impact can not go under the radar thankfully iio finally had a happy ending instead of one of those tragic relationships that he always has in Assassin's Revelation sfia has a gentle yet determined attitude which adds a delightful charm to the sequences where her relationship with ETO deepened personally I favor her over Christina because she contributed more to the story and it just felt like the right match for iio Christina's presence felt more like a forc relationship whereas sfia had a genuine impact what truly sets her apart though from many other characters was her straightforwardness she did not hesitate to express her thought when speaking to IO making her refreshingly direct seeing their relationship evolve from the beginning beginning to the end of Assassin's Creed Revelations was truly delightful and it was pretty evident that they had become a couple by The Game's conclusion so yes sopia is a fantastic side character in Assassin's Creed Revelations and easily the most significant and fulfilling relationship that it Show's ever experienced oh boy now this side character is a rather interesting one and that is Ste Bonnet yet another side character that gets overlooked in the series Ste Bonnet in a Assassin's Creed Black Flag is a character that I felt made the story rather amusing in situations that were definitely not amusing although he had a notorious reputation Ste Bonny was frequently referred to as the gentleman pirate this nickname is a thing partly from his background as a relatively prosperous landowner before he embraced the life of piracy his connection with Edward Kenway throughout the entire game was heartwarming and in the few scenes that he appeared you could tell that it was either going to be awkward or just simply hilarious and it did not fail in that regard Ste bar was a cheerful and happy individual as demonstrated by his deep admiration for Edward kenry who had once rescued him he had the remarkable Talent of finding a positive angle in almost every circumstance whether it was good or bad nevertheless this optimism came with naivity as Ste Bonet seemed to underestimate the dangers of traveling alongside Edward and failed to grasp the serious repercussions of piracy he was gave off that Dopey attitude but it was fun to see his reveal of being a member of Blackbeard's crew was one of the most confusing using but surprising scenes to witness as it just happened out of nowhere now here's something that many people might not be aware of and that is Ste Bon's actual death in the game you probably know that we don't actually witness how he dies but his death is one of the most tragic ones in the game so during a naval battle Steed Bon's crew clashed with the Royal Marines leading to their capture despite an initial escape attempt Steed Bonnie was recaptured ultimately leading to his execution for piracy according to the game's law those who witnessed the execution said that Ste Bonnie's face was filled with tears and in the final moments before the execution it was described as genuinely heartfelt even bringing some other people to tears so it's a shame that Ubisoft did not provide us with a proper cut scene for Steve Bonnet the best we got was over hearing a few guyss talking about his death I'll play for you now so you can listen maybe he has friends looking out for him or money like Steve Bonnet from Barbados no no they hanged him too did they hi blubbering and balling he collapsed at The Gallows weeping like a little [Laughter] lamb serves the bast all right so we're coming up to the top 10 now and this is where it gets a bit more interesting so at 10th I went with Barnabas from Assassin's Creed Odyssey now Barnabas is a character that just feels like our best friend throughout the game he serves as the captain of the address here and just an amazingly nice companion to Cassandra he consistently gave off this cheerfulness whenever we interacted with him which gave a welcome contrast to the often serious demeanor of the other characters in the game some people might underestimate Barnabas as just a mere side character that has nothing going for him but Barnabas is far from that it's solely thanks to Barnabas and his crew that we can actually leave calonia he also plays a very crucial role in Saving candra's life on multiple occasions making him a pretty indispensable figure throughout the game he has a way of gathering information for us and kind of reminds me of a Greek spy even the story relating to him is pretty good too it centered around locating his longl wife and it was engaging from start to finish then there's the Revelation about his daughter which makes you like his character even more unlike Other Side characters in the game Barnabas remained by our side until the very end making his presence feel truly special I just maybe wish we could have had more adventures with him because as much as it's great having such a great companion with us on the address it would have been so much better if he had more game time and actual land where he could be involved in the main story a little more so putting Barnabas at 10 plays feels about right I honestly would have placed him higher but I feel like the names after Babas in this video are Justified for where they are now in ninth place I've gone with my boy Shan Hastings A lot of people may find Sean Hastings to be rather annoying but his sarcastic and humorous personality is what makes me like his character so much he's a well respected figure within the Assassin order offering invaluable guidance and intelligence to the team yet he injects his character with a lively and playful side that I genuinely appreciate throughout the modern day storyline Shan consistently showcases his commitment to the moral principles and a profound passion for the Assassin cuse he's witnessed the deaths of so many loved ones at the hand of Templars and unlike his fellow teammates who are actual trained assassins sh's background as a historian leaves him less equipped to handle the emotional toll of these l so as a coping mechanism he kind of adopts this Persona that's marked by sarcasm humor and a somewhat ironically arrogant demeanor one of the major things for me that makes me like Shan Hasting character so much is during a scene in syndicut where sha openly acknowledges his first dislike for Desmond reflecting on how everyone treated him as special while he appeared self-centered Shan recognizes his own misjudgment acknowledging Desmond as a friend who endured immense hardships and ultimately saved the entire planet so in the end Shan wants to live up to Desmond's example it's not even just the older games like Assassin's Creed 2 Brotherhood Revelations and 3 where he shines take Assassin's Creed valal as modern day for example despite him being a lot older and wiser he still makes the same one line of jokes and brings that humor during a dark time it's kind of weird because Rebecca Crane in Assassin's Creed Valhalla is so incredibly boring and Ubisoft massively nerfed her character in that game yet The Shining Light in the modern day of valhala is sha Hastings I could delve much deeper into Sha's character but that would take all day so placing him in ninth position feels just about right for the best side character in the modern [Music] day okay now this one is a weird one can you even consider a as a side character I mean sure we did play as her during the late game of Assassin's Creed Origins but that does not necessarily not make her a side character anymore however let's be honest Bak is the main character and ya is a side character and that's that anyway that's not the point ya as an actual side character is one of my favorites it's just a shame Ubisoft have not really acknowledged her story more after Origins after all she did have her own assassin statue in Assassin's Creed 2 in the sanctuary under auditor so it would not hurt to experience her story in a future Assassin's Creed game it doesn't even need to be a Mainland Assassin's Creed game I take a spin-off at this point she played a very important role in creating the hidden ones alongside her husband and one could argue that her contribution to the hidden ones was just as significant if not more so than BX never n Less in Origins a had limited playability which might have diminished her actual importance in the law what I truly appreciated was the dynamic between her and Bak throughout the entire story of Origins you could feel the emotional depth between them especially considering the loss of their son Kimu one moment they had be engaged in having sex on rooftops and the next they be locked in some pretty passionate arguments it was just so conflicting but entertaining at the same time however the main reason I like her s character is not because of her betrayal in Origins but rather rather the impact that she had for the hidden ones so at the end of the game she started going by the name amunet and in later years after the events of Origins she recruited a lot of Assassins to her cause and made a very important impact on history and paved the way for all future Assassin's Creed games there's even the story of ya poisoning Cleopatra that made me even more interested with her character so yeah whilst ya as a side character in the game perhaps could have been a little bit better it's a story and a legacy that makes me Place her at eighth place next up after a I've gone with Ada in seventh place born in 1692 adal was once a slave who became a pirate in the West Indies and then later joined the Assassin Brotherhood he quickly became one of my favorite Side characters in Assassin's Creed Black Flag and yes I am aware that he got his own game with freedom cry but for this video I'm focusing on the side characters and during Assassin's Creed Black Flag he was just a side character Ada was Edward Henry's first quarter Master on the jack back door right from the start of the game he had Edwards back as they both helped each other escape from a slave trader ship adal was one of the few Pirates who survived the entire game and had a good amount of screen time for me he's just a great person he's a straightforward character who consistently offers sensible advice to Edward making his presence enjoyable while sailing the Seas ad played a key role in persuading Edward to join the assassins and he eventually embraced the Creed himself because of the brutal treatment that he endured as a slave ad while I strongly opposed it and even got angry about it he refused to work with Edward when he discovered that Edward was negotiating with lawen Prince a well-known slaver ad while also cautioned against attacking slave ships feing for the lives of those on board and was quite shocked by Charles V's Reckless firing at them throughout the story of Black Flag it was pretty obvious that Adali had a great heart he only wants the best for his people and wants the best for Edward Kenway himself he's just a great companion to have it's a similar case to Barnabas where both are always on your ship but Ada has more of an impact to the main story so that's why I've ranked him quite high in this video thankfully Ubisoft made freedom cry because adaw is definitely one of those side characters that deserved a shot at being in the main Spotlight and he did just that in Assassin's Creed Freedom Cry so yeah seventh place for me seemed pretty fair for Adali this one was quite hard to rank I honestly did not know whether to place Achilles Davenport as a side character higher in this video or lower so I just figured that sixth place would be the fairest Achilles Davenport was the leader of the colonial Brotherhood of Assassins from 1746 to 1763 he had a mixed Caribbean and British background and his time as the head of the American assassins had its ups and downs even though it began with hope his decisions during the Seven Years War had some pretty terrible results including Shay's betrayal and the downfall of his own Brotherhood but as a side character in Assassin's Creed 3 more specifically it was very memorable and heartwarming he's most known for his role as kakin his mentor when we first meet ail is he's elderly and retired but he eventually chooses to assist Connor in his mission to protect the ESU Temple and his tribe's Land from the Templars his story in Assassin's Creed 3 is nothing sure of spectacular from a miserable old man to you quite literally tearing up when you visit his grave in Assassin's Creed 3 shows you how much of an impact such a character can have I often felt sorry for him during the story of Assassin's Creed 3 because of how often Conor ignored him or did the complete opposite of what he said achiles just wants the best for the Brotherhood and for Connor he's one of these smartest and versatile characters in the entire series he can act like an ordinary person in his daily life but soon switched to an assassin to confront Templars when needed it would have been quite good to have a separate game about his character but that's unlikely because Assassin's Creed 3 already showed his death I feel like the best way to describe Achilles is misunderstood it's unfortunate that he gained a negative reputation because of what happened in Rogue he felt quite different from his character in Assassin's Creed 3 the whole plottin R seems a bit rushed and poorly put together making Achilles the quote unquote villain for the sake of the story which I hated that's why I ranked Assassin's Creed role quite low in my ranking of the games video it essentially switches the role and well-known characters behave out of character Achilles was not fully developed in Assassin's Creed 3 but his younger self is entirely different in Assassin's Creed Ro there's just a lot of untapped potential here instead of exploring a philosophical view on two different belief systems and how one can be influenced by them we got a very one-sided cliche story with characters going against the established law and the story for no apparent reason at all other than just fit the plot anyway sorry for that rant so yeah sixth place for me is where aill should [Music] be okay now we reach the top five and these next five are all amazing Side characters and are definitely the best in their own respective games so with that said at fifth place I've gone with Pier Bellic from Assassin's Creed Unity now I've talked about P Bell quite a few times on this channel especially in my more recent Assassin's Creed Unity video he's the only side character in Assassin's Creed Unity that's actually worth paying attention to he started off as a man in the same prison as Arnold and then becomes his mentor the constant pisspot name coding he gives to Arnold was something that I quite enjoyed what does that even mean by the way piss poot anyway throughout Unity Bellic was a great side character he had different motivations from the assassins and you could even perhaps say that Bic was right all along I did not like the fact that Bell slowly started to turn into a villain I mean if you can call him a villain that is his whole storyline ending wasn't exactly Justified and he feels like pure wayy potential in my opinion he was way better of a character than the actual villain in the game which was Fran domas Jermain but sadly the whole story of Assassin's Creed Unity just fell flat and it did not live up to what the game truly could have been my only issue is that I wish we got to experience Pier Bell's character more fleshed out or perhaps we did not even need to kill him throughout Unity he held a strong allegiance to the cause but his understanding of the Assassin's beliefs was quite basic and almost extreme he OPP making peace with the Templars at any price even going as far as to poison the mentor and endanger an innocent life in the process which could be seen as breaking a tenant of the Creed so in terms of Assassin's Creed it was the right thing to do but as an emotional connection to the character I just hate his ending next up in fourth place I've gone with perhaps the second best side character in Assassin's Creed Black Flag and that is Edward zch AKA Blackbeard I mean what do I even need to say about Blackbeard's character in Black Flag he was a well-known English pirate Captain who navigated the Waters of the West Indies and the American colonies Eastern Coastline in the early 1700s he even commanded the queen an's Revenge ship and held a position of one of the most respected crime laws in this era throughout the story of Black Flag his character brought such an excitement to the screen with how unpredictable and rebellious he was he was a side character that always got me excited whenever his presence graced the screen he did have that weird ass looking fire Little Beard thing or whatever that was and it always looked like he was about to end somebody's life I like the Assassin's Creed Twist on his character where he doesn't actually start the game of being known as Blackbeard instead he starts off as the ordinary pirate Edward thatch and you witness his rise or his fall depending on how you view it into the iconic Blackbeard Persona throughout his transformation he evolves into one of the game's most entertaining characters thaner is very unusual and aggressive speeches You know despite all the stories about how Blackbeard is portrayed as this whole evil pirate with his own agendas he actually was portrayed quite nicely in Black Flag he had a deep concern for Edward Kenway regarding him as a pupil and guiding him in all aspects of sailing and the Art of piracy as he saw it his death scene was one of the more upsetting ones in the game and yes there was a lot of them the whole Ambush scene to them both Blackbeard and Edward escaping onto the Jack door was one of the more memorable missions in the game and then witnessing Blackbeard get outnumbered and killed was actually kind of surprising I did not really expect such an iconic historical figure's death in game because that's that's not what youself usually do here we are with the top three Side characters in the entire series and I'll admit it these next three could genuinely all interchange with each other because that's how good each one is for this one I've gone with use of tazm I could have easily placed him first but sadly one of the top three has to be third and that is where use of tazm is for me he was the leader of the Ottoman Brotherhood of Assassins that operated in Constantinople and his side character in Assassin's Creed Revelations was nothing short of memorable by the time SEO arrived in Constantinople the Assassins had gained a lot of control over the city largely thanks to yousef's charismatic incing leadership as he shows ETO around the city it becomes evident that YF had a solid understanding of what it meant to be an assassin and quite frankly why he meant to be a good human being he showed ETO everything the right contacts the right locations and the necessary tools including the iconic hook blade line the standard ottoman hook blade has two parts you see the hook and the blade so you can use one or the other An Elegant Design This Not only equipped Etso with the knowledge and resources to fight against the Templars but also B out a lighter sight of Etso this was a welcome change after the kind of dullish tone of Brotherhood it was refreshing to seeo return to his more cheerful self even if those moments were fleeting and Scatter throughout the missions listening to both use of tasm and ETO exchange jokes and poke fun at the Templars was a much needed cont trust in Revelations of course let's not confuse Yousef taz's cheerful nature with naivity he fully understood the gravity of the situation and did whatever it took to protect his loved ones Assassin's Creed Revelations is a game that kind of revolves around character Reflections Prince San mirrors a young Etso from Assassin's Creed 2 while YF tazm embodies the best version of Etso from Assassin's Creed Brotherhood his death in the game was pretty sad too he was given the task of protecting Sophia until IO returned however he suddenly got stabbed in the back and was killed off he died protecting eto's future wife how tragic is [Music] that now moving on to the top two and that second spot I've ultimately gone with what everyone may put as their favorite side character and that is Leonardo Da Vinci the most perfect and best way to describe Leonardo is the definition of a real one he's the type of guy that would wait 20 years for you to come out of jail if he had to firstly when we discuss Leonardo da Vinci it's important to recognize his historical importance he was a real life Plymouth excelling in various Fields such as art sculpture and so on even today in 2023 his work continues to get celebrated so the fact that he was implemented into Assassin's Creed is amazing in both Assassin's Creed 2 and Brotherhood Leonardo is portrayed as more than just a genius inventor he's a well-rounded character with emotions dreams and vulnerabilities his interactions with SEO go beyond mere just working together but evolv into a genuine friendship and perhaps the best friendship in the entire franchise he was is just always helping AO whenever he got the chance and during those depressing moments in the game story you could always count on Leonardo to brighten up quite literally every situation so hating this guy is pretty impossible I love that because of his inventor status in Real History Ubisoft implemented this aspect into the games by giving us those interesting Creations like the Flying Machine the tank and so on each of which all contribute to helping ETO in the main story oh and how could I almost forget that one awkward scene where you must press a button to give him a hug Gra I remember when I missed the quick time event for up the first time I played Assassin's Creed 2 I don't know why but II felt so bad that I reloaded my save just to give him that hug gra my friend so yeah Leonardo da Vinci is definitely a top two side character in the entire series it's so hard to hate this guy and if you do well you're just an evil person [Music] okay here we are my personal number one spot as my favorite side character in the entire series and that belongs to James kid from Assassin's Creed Black Flag so James kid or Mary Reid was an English pirate that played such an important role in the story of Black Flag as a member of the West Indies Brotherhood of Assassins her side character was so mysterious throughout the game since the very beginning when you meet her at first let's be honest you thought she was a guy but slowly as the story starts to she also unravels and is revealed to be Mary Reed when you first play Assassin's Creed Black Flag her character doesn't seem as important and seems like the typical pirate character however as Mary gradually reveals her true identity both as a person and as a member of the Assassin order she establishes a level of trust with Edward that is very unusual among Pirates even as Edward opposes his former comrades he remains loyal to Mary rejecting her offer to join the Assassins their discussions about the Creed and the concept of Freedom play such a huge role in Black FL back story and what I liked about her so much is that she saw right through Edward Kenway's stereotypical pirate facade and was a genuine supportive and Guiding Light in his life always ensuring Edward does better I remember that prison mission where she AIDS Edward in Escaping The Prison which leads him to confront his past as an aimless Wanderer with no real purpose in life apart from piracy so without her Edward would never have discovered the motivation to seek Redemption and transition into an actual assassin her death was one of the most saddest ones in the entire series and it served as a turning point for Edward's Direction in life this understanding is not just for his own benefit but also as a tribute to her Legacy you can literally see the moment that she passes away and the game shifts to Edward's face so very upset and you could tell it's hurting him inside so yeah James kid or Mary Reid is easily my favorite side character in the entire [Music] Series so there you have it that is my top 20 ranking of my personal favorite Side characters I know I've missed out on a few but the ones I did miss out on are ones that I would not consider top 20 so that's why they're not in this video take Cur for example if I had a choice I'd Place him at number 500 because he's so incredibly boring and that is not how a side character should be portrayed anyway who's your favorite side character in the series let me know in the comments below and if you did enjoy this video be sure to hit that subscribe button and with that said I'll see you in the next [Music] one [Music]
