hello everyone do not look behind you and today we will be ranking every boss and don't starve or at least that's what i was going to do before i found out clay secretly updated the game making everyone bad so now this video is also a guide on how to find and kill every boss in the game i will be ranking the bosses based off how fun they are to fight and how good their loot is the worst boss fight in all of don't starve is not crab king actually it's malbatros so this guy sucks in every area the fight itself is horrible the drops are useless and he's one of the hardest things to locate in this game to even spawn albatross you need to find one of these shows these shoals can spawn anywhere in this massive ocean once you reach one of these shows you're still not done each time you reel in a fish from here you have a 10 chance of spawning albatross this means it's entirely possible to collect all the fish without albatross ever spawning forcing you to go out there and find yet another shoal not only is this extremely look based but it's also boring and annoying speaking of born and annoying let's talk about the boss fight itself i hate this guy he seems simple on the surface but when you get down to fighting him it's stupid the majority of the time he will not work properly and straight up ignore you look at this i'm hitting him right in the face and he flies past me like nothing's happening this is not a rare occurrence either sometimes i even get a boomerang to attract his tiny attention span only from to jump into the water and disappear to god those were and that's not even mentioning the fact that he pushes your boat away want to kill this bird for its feathers well too bad because you won't be able to go anywhere near him when he spams waves at you luckily you can avoid being pushed by placing down an anchor and dropping it this way you can easily kill malba tross by luring him in with a boomerang and killing him on your boat alternatively you can use wanda's long range alarm and clock to hit malbathross even when you're standing nowhere near him he'll still magically disappear from time to time but it's better than nothing once you kill him you get a beak which is basically a super powerful version of the ore and a bunch of feathers which you can use to make a better sale you might notice that both of these items help you with sailing which is kind of pointless since you already explored half the map trying to find this guy anyway if that wasn't bad enough the amount of feathers you get is kind of a random so if you get less than 24 feathers then you won't be able to craft a better sail you know the main reason anyone was fighting albatross imagine going through all this torture to spawn and kill this bird only to find out you have to do it again just to get a single sail the fight itself is not that bad if you have an anchor but there is literally no reason to kill him even if you did have one you have a higher chance of winning the lottery than you have a finding albatross after please never speak to me again when i said crapkin wasn't the worst boss that didn't mean he was good he just sits second from last i have a question how do you make such an interesting concept for a boss and then proceed to destroy everything about it the idea on paper is pretty good you need 9 gems to summon crapkiny depending on what gems you put in will either alter the strength of his attacks or give him a hundred thousand health if you're a masochist ideally this would allow you to build your own boss fight to control what crab can can and can't do and you use a variety of strategies to defeat him in reality though everyone just spams purple gems since those are the only ones that don't make his attacks even more obnoxious when i asked people what boss they hated the most the majority said crapkin it's not hard to see why crapkin is no way to directly hit the player so instead he goes for your boat i'll give him this it's surprisingly fun to move in a circle around his rock getting a few hits in while you slide past him but then he proceeds to pull out six claws out of nowhere and instantly stops you in place what is this why have i been robbed of my ability to dodge you could try killing these claws but you won't be able to by yourself crapkin will either permanently freeze you or insta-kill your boat before you can do anything the only real way to beat him is using some cheese strategies the easiest one to perform requires a few ice staffs and a weather pain you want the free scrapkin whenever he tries to destroy your boat which will cancel his attack you will also want to freeze him whenever claws pop out of the water so you have enough time to kill them then whenever he heals because yes this guy also heals you want to use the weather pain to cancel his healing attack basically just a massive resource thing all of that and we haven't even mentioned how difficult it is to find him or how horrible his drops are i'm putting crapkey nectar because just like malbotrotsky fails at every single category the last boss in f-tier is toadstool and toadstool is probably some form of government torture method to be completely honest i kind of like the way this boss plays out instead of attacking you head on he spawns exploding mushrooms and spores he even starts stomping on the floor and summoning earthquakes when he's on low health almost like he's pissed off that you're still alive it's all well and good until you take a look at his health 50 000 health for reference crab can usually only has 22 000 this guy has over double that if his only problem was the high health then he probably wouldn't be so low during the fight toadstool will spawn a bunch of trees these mushroom trees give him a significant defense increase meaning if you don't get rid of them the already long fight will take five times longer oh yeah and did i mention he spams this attack all the time after chopping all the trees down he just spawns them back up after a bit turning this boss fight into a chop the trees minigame and don't think he'll get away with using the ham bat for this fight his spores spoil all your food including the hambat that aircraft 8 dark swords to kill a single boss instead this guy is basically a giant resource sink think of him as that you need to craft this stuff to win rather than an actual boss fight once you kill this beast you get rewarded with a mushroom hat this thing does not do anything other than occasionally spawn a small spore great reward that was definitely worth my time for some reason clay decided to add an even stronger variant of toast tool which you can summon and here's a hundred thousand health i did a test with god mode on and it took me a full day and four weather pains just to kill this guy as mighty wolfgang that's eight minutes of doing nothing but holding this key on the keyboard if i had to move it all during the fight or if i wasn't playing wolfgang for double the damage this fight would literally take you close to an hour though to the game's credit you do get an extra item for killing misery toadstool that being a worse version of the pamphlet an item you can get by simply walking into the deciduous spine my thoughts on this can be summarized in a single sentence if you keep doing anything for an hour straight it's bound to get boring toads 2 is one of the main reasons i think boss health scaling would be a great tin for the game if you're playing alone some of these bosses can take ridiculously long to kill but with 6 people they die instantly i'm putting toast to an f tier since he's just as obnoxious to fight as the other two if you for some reason want to kill him just spin a few weather panes a chest with all your food for sanity and healing and then just de-equip your handbag whenever there's a cloud on your head and then the handbag won't spoil very cool not you though you're bad moving up to detail we have bosses that aren't really too obnoxious to fight but most of the time you don't have a reason to kill them one of the worst bosses in this franchise isn't even don't starve together but in the hamlet dlc deep inside the maze that is the mant hills you can find their queen and oh my god is she annoying like every other quirky boss down here she has no way to attack you no really none of her attacks do any damage to you instead she shoots out these eggs which quickly spawn manta warriors so basically instead of fighting one giant enemy you're fighting multiple mini enemies if that wasn't bad enough when she's about half hp she blows herself causing the player to get stun locked you cannot do anything when she does this meaning you're open to attack by the three warriors she just spawned to show you how bad this boss is i am going to speedrun her on day one in single player maxwell is a bit different because not only does he radiate shad energy but he starts with a dark sword and a night suit most of the time in this run is spent navigating demand hills but once i reach the fight this happens this crazy combat technique known as i stand still and tank the damage from the enemies to kill the queen as fast as possible and then she dies and i do as well but you get the point look i don't know how to tell you this if the best way to kill your boss is to stand still and do nothing then i'm not going to like it the only good thing about her is that she has three and a half thousand health so the pain is over quickly she also never respawns after you kill her so that's a plus two the only reason i'm putting her in detail is because her drops are decent one of her drops is a crown you can trade this crown for a key allowing you to get one of hamlet's special items there are three of these items meaning you'll need three keys to unlock them all the problem is that four keys exist in hamlet and three of them are extremely easy to get which means by the time you kill man queen you already have all of these items unlocked rendering the crown completely useless the other item is the bundling wrap which is okay it's basically a package that you can put food in and it will never spoil it's a really good item and don't starve together though it's not as good in hamlet you never really have a reason to bundle food and if you need it that badly you can buy some from the store the next ones up on this list are the shadow pieces these ones are my favorite design wise even if the fight can be obnoxious at times you have a shadow bishop rook and a knight each with completely different attacks let's say you kill the knight first the bishop and rook will then transform into stronger versions of themselves to have stronger attacks if you then kill the bishop the rook will transform into a tier 3 god depending on who you kill first will give you a completely different boss by the end it's like crab kings build your own boss mechanic but actually good it's all pure kaiden which is what i like you will need a lot of speed buffs though otherwise it's not possible to dodge their attacks and by a lot i mean a walking cane a yellow amulet and a bunch of roads the worst part of this fight is that the tier 3 bishop and knight are an awful experience meaning you're always going to be going for the rook last the tier 3 bishop teleports to your exact location making it impossible to dodge without teleporting while the knight just does a lot of damage unfortunately you have to do some of the most specific things in the game to summon this boss in order to spawn them you have to find three randomly placed marble pieces around the map these can spawn literally anywhere so you'll have to search every inch of this island to find them did you know that these pieces used to not have map icons in the old days you could accidentally walk past full or just forget where it was and then not be able to find it again finding all three pieces is one thing but trying to move them together is another painful experience moving all three pieces while going this slowly will literally take you hours so you better tame a beefalo or just play walter and use wobbie to carry them for you once you finally assemble these pieces you're still not done as you have to wait for a very specific time on a specific day to summon the shadow pieces the first new moon happens on day 21 and then every 20 days after that you need to hammer these statues on the night of day 21 otherwise you'll end up waiting another two and a half hours for the next new moon let's let's imagine for a second that you travel across every little bit of the map to find all three marble pieces then tame a beefalo so you can carry them to the same spot then wait until day 21 to summon the shadow pieces and successfully kill them your reward for all of this effort is a sword and a piece of armor wow to be fair to the developers this boss is a stepping stone to another fight so it makes sense that all you get is this heart and sword but still all of this effort and all you get is garbage the ant line is what happens when you have a good concept for a boss fight with good execution followed by some really poor drops and a sandstorm that makes locating her incredibly difficult if you take away the three days of fishing to cross the annoying sandstorm then you have a pretty good fight it involves dodging these spikes that come out of the ground and at times it's one of the most intense parts of the game the attack pattern is definitely one of the more unique ones most of the bosses i bet twice to get some good footage for the video but i thought antline on repeat for a solid hour i would not have done the same thing over and over again if i didn't find it fun trying to beat antline without taking damage my favorite part is how she feels like an actual enemy with a brain at the start of the battle antlion's attacks are slow and easily avoidable but as she gets closer and closer to that she starts summoning sand spikes more and more often like she's desperately trying to kill you near the beginning there's a lot of room for error but by the end you have to surgically avoid the 20 spikes around you there's a surprising amount of strategy here because the spikes stay and act as a wall when they pop out ideally you want them to focus in one area so you don't block yourself off later on definitely a lot of fun however that's all the good i'm going to say now on to the bad which there is a lot of like i said earlier antlion spawns in the oasis desert during summer surrounded by a sandstorm which slows you down and blocks your vision the only way to see through this storm is to get a really specific blueprint from fishing in this lake who even likes fishing in this game why do i have to do this you have to sit there for a couple of days occasionally clicking your mouse and it's not fun at all if you do decide to go through with this and then kill her you get a lazy deserter blueprint this item allows you to teleport your friends on the server directly to you however the key word in that sentence is friends because i play alone so this item is completely useless to me apparently all of this negativity wasn't enough because claim decided to make her even worse by allowing her to destroy your base even if she's nowhere near it what's that you don't want to spend three days fishing to kill this boss fine but if you don't kill her then a bunch of sinkholes will magically appear at your base destroying everything they touch the game really wants you to fish in this lake for some reason i don't know why you can also use the astral goggles to cross the storm but to get that blueprint requires you to kill crapkin and a bunch of other stuff so you might not want to do that if you want my advice on how to kill her effectively just bring a cane and imagine luminescence for speed and you'll be fine it's not necessary to bring speed items but it makes dodging all the spikes a lot easier you can also just tank her seeing that she only has 6 000 health fun boss surrounded by a bunch of stupid mechanics d tier the next few bosses in seat here usually have a good reason to kill them but the process of doing so can be frustrating the ancient fuelweaver is an awful boss fight this guy randomly stunlocks you and then summons a bunch of enemies so he can eat them for health if you leave her only a 16 000 health but it feels like so much more with how often he goes invincible one of his main attacks that he uses is trapping the player in a cage there's nothing you can do to escape the cage and if you leaver gets a free hit on you technically you can escape but you'll need to play one of these two or craft a teleporting staff for the low low price of a walking cable an orange coin midway through the fight his second phase activates and that funny music i overuse begins to play the fuel lever turns invincible and starts spawning a bunch of woven shadows which he eats for health each of them gives him 400 health so you don't want to leave any alive the best way to ensure that they die instantly is to use the weather pain it's not necessary to do this but it makes life a lot easier half the time when i try and punch one of the woven shadows the game thinks i'm trying to hit the fuel weaver and then i get bounced back by a shield and he gets to eat some free health to destroy his invincibility shield you must first destroy the shadow torches that are only visible to insane players for this reason you want to bring a nightmare amulet but don't stay insane for too long otherwise the fuel weaver will once again stun lock you and then either smack you right across the face or heal up another thousand health this phase wouldn't be so bad if he didn't use this invincibility thing over and over and over and over again because it takes so long to kill a few weaver during the second phase i recommend you tank him while he's not invincible and also bring a lot of sanity food so you don't go insane once you kill him with your stack of powerful weapons your reward is armor that occasionally makes you invincible a hat that makes shadow creatures neutral towards you and this torch tin that makes the skeleton follow you so pretty good oh yeah and the ruins regenerate so if you want to get more resources from there then you should kill the fuel leaver summoning him is fairly easy other than the part where you have to kill the shadow pieces first i'm gonna put you in seat here the ancient herald is the hamlet boss that spawns during the apocalypse and when i say spawn i mean he starts appearing everywhere which makes a lot of sense see and hamlet there's this apocalypse-like event that will eventually happen if you don't stop this ancient clock hidden in the ruins once the apocalypse starts it will not end until you find that clock just imagine that don't starve hard mode and you have the apocalypse massive bat waves fall to the sky at the start of each day mobs that were once neutral to you are now hostile the pigs who once helped you fight off dangerous mobs now hide in their house the mans get a scary white look to them and come on the moon is red it is the end of the world so logically a giant black monster would appear sometimes trying to kill you the boss fight itself is simple enough you hit him three times before dodging his attack where he explodes himself during this fight the herald is an alternate attack where he summons anything ranging from meteors shadow creatures ghosts and frogs for some reason believe me it is not fun trying to fight 12 frogs at once luckily this isn't too much of a problem since you can just get the herald to damage his own creations with that explosion or just get the frogs to kill him whichever works the item that he drops is so useful that it's useless imagine a backpack that makes you completely invincible to any attack while wearing it the downside is that this backpack has durability and will lose all of it very easily you can refuel it using nightmare fuel but it's not worth it since each fuel only counts for five percent essentially you get an item that makes you invincible for like 5 seconds maybe if this backpack was a little stronger the ancient herald would sit up further on the list but for now you're going to see it here you know who else is in seat here that's right sea queen bee queen spawns honey around her slowing you down making this boss nearly uncomfortable developers were like dodging [Music] let's remove it on top of this big queen spawns a bunch of grumble beasts to make sure that doing anything near her is extremely difficult as you get stun locked by eight bees you can try killing the grumble bees but there's no reason to since bee queen will instantly respawn them if you try the best way to fight bee queen is to not fight bee queen and either use a crap ton of pan flutes tank her with abigail or just get an army of mobs to kill her for you there's also that one cheese method on youtube that inevitably gets patched out before people find another way to break the boss the easiest way to kill bee queen by far is to play wendy and use abigail just make about 25 pierogi and then hold f on a boat and that's all you do you can make pierogi with one meat vegetable egg and a filler then just craft five bee queen hats and heal abigail with the two spectral curls you brought when using this method make sure that abigail is set to neutral and that you stand next to her so that all the grumble bees die the second they spawn kite in her as any other character is a little more complicated and it involves pan flutes but it's not too hard once you figure out what to do for her first phase kill all grumble bees except one for her first phase bee queen will not spawn more grumble bees if at least one is alive you will then tank a bit of damage until she spawns eight bees once this happens use the pamphlet to put everything to sleep hit b queen about four times and then pan flu again repeat this process until she starts screaming causing the grumble beast to travel at the speed of light if there's a road near you you want to run along it quickly for roughly 6 seconds before turning back to tank b queen repeat this process until she either screams again or the grumble bees catch up to you and she should die fairly quickly personally if you need to resort to choosing the boss fight with an obnoxious amount of materials then sad boss sucks however this isn't the worst thing in the world as their drops are actually really good the bee queen crown is probably the worst of the tree and it still has a fair amount of uses the crown reverses all negative sandy oars making it the best source of sandy when in the ruins or during the fuel lever battle the royal jelly can be cooked into multiple jelly beans which never spoil and give you health over the course of 2 minutes safe to say that this is one of the best healing sources in the game especially since it works on wormwood the character who can't heal through eating and finally the bundling wrap blueprint this item works so much better and don't starve together than it does in hamlet if you have too much food just bundle it and then open it up later when you need it with these three items you can conquer all three stats in the corner be queen hats for sanity jelly beans for health and abundant wrapped for food very powerful drops unfortunately fighting beekweed is an awful experience therefore seat here now we're up to beat here where the bosses start to get good in this theater most of the bosses have some generic kite in patterns with some decent loot nothing too good but not too awful either the seal nato is a funny boss he has this deadly attack where he can pull you in using wind steal some of your items and get a guaranteed hit on you but you can dodge it by standing behind the tree even though his attack pattern is incredibly easy to dodge i like the idea of being able to use the environment around you to be a boss it's just something that makes sense before you even try it like of course if you stand behind the heavy rock then the wind won't be able to affect you that's actually really clever funnily enough you can also ignore this move by fighting him on the ocean the attack is replaced with him spamming a bunch of waves and you can avoid 100 of these waves by standing a bit to the right it's almost comedic how easy this is to avoid once you defeat the boss you are faced with your greatest challenge yet emotional trauma do you kill this innocent seal with one health for its drops or do you spare it and move on with your day it's a difficult question many shipwrecked players mysteriously disappear after killing the seal the seal nadal itself will give you the fastest bow upgrade in the game which is pretty useful when you know the dlc are played as water everywhere killing the seal gives you the magic seal to be honest i haven't played that much shipwrecked but the one that can summon the rain doesn't seem all that useful the staff lets you control the window so that's cool be tier 4 very cool berger is another basic boss monster added in the reign of a giants update he was probably a crazy fast-paced action fight back then but now he's just a lock farmer you can safely hit him twice before he slaps at you three times if you have a speed boost he takes a while to move his hand making it really obvious when he's about to attack however every three swipes he quickly stomps the floor throwing you off guard if you're not paying attention and throwing your weapon out of your hand if you get hit his drop used to be useless but after the installation pack got buffed it's really good imagine an ice box that you can carry around with the same amount of slots as a backpack and you get the installation pack so to be fair if you have the krampus sack which is double the slots of that this item is still not very good you know what they should do they should make like a turf that you can craft out of berger's fur sort of like how you could make turf out of dragonfly scale i think you should be able to make turf out of berger's fur not really much else to say other than that i never have to fight berger purely because he always dies to some tree guard first b-tier for berger fighting shipwrecks quacking is like playing a bullet hell game you have to dodge all these waves spawned by the tentacles everywhere otherwise you and your boat will die luckily you can use the cannon to destroy the tentacles allowing you to safely reach the quaggan and kill it and the fight ends really quickly like really quickly i know every single boss has low health and stuff but why does the kraken only have a thousand that's the same health as a don't starve together beef lawyer you're telling me a beefalo is just as strong as this thing the spawning process can take a while since you have to use the troll net in the deep ocean hoping for the quacken to appear luckily though the loot is good it's just as good as the rune stuff you can get by killing the ancient guardian but in shipwreck no complaints here b-tier mooskus is another boss who originates from the reign of giants dlc the attack pattern goes something like this dodge attack hit moose three times repeat this process four times and then the goose will honk causing your weapon to fall out of your hand and then you repeat that once she dies the moslings realize hey wait a second weaken the fight as well and start collectively spinning at you it's surprisingly fun dodging six small enemies but that's likely because you have a decent amount of time to hit the maus lines when they become dizzy the feathers you get are pretty good since they're required for the weather pain recipe the same item that i recommend you use to cheese some of the earlier bosses not pointing any fingers or anything alternatively you can use them to make a big fan which can be used for telling people that you're their biggest fan dragonfly is a unique heightened pattern you have to hit for a specific number of times otherwise you are guaranteed to get hit when fighting something like dear clubs it doesn't matter how much hits you do as long as you can dodge the attack if you really wanted to play it safe you could hit him once and then dodge this is not possible when fighting dragonfly if you hit her too little times she will hit you back this is because unlike other mobs dragonfly moves while attacking therefore the only real way to kite her is to hit her just enough time so that she doesn't move but also not that much so that you don't get hit it's not as simple as hitting her five times before dodging oftentimes you have to do half attacks just so you can time your dodges correctly all of that and we haven't even talked about her two other phases so midway through the fight she starts spotting these larvae these guys are so annoying that no one wants to fight them and so the majority of the community just build walls to protect themselves you don't even need anything big their pathfinding is so bad that they think it's possible to walk through this magma pool spoiler alert alternatively you can get lucky with the world generation and only use a total of 9 walls to cheese the fight i don't blame people for wanting to cheat the boss since fighting 2 larvae and dragonfly at the same time is pretty frustrating however it's nowhere near as bad as bee queens will give it a pass it's definitely possible to kill dragonfly and her larvae at the same time but most people still use walls the other part of dragonfly is also skipped by the majority of the playerbase she turns enraged and has a harder fighting pattern but who cares about that all you have to do to overcome this phase is use the pan flute she returns to her normal phase when asleep and congratulations you just skipped one of the hardest bosses in the game overall dragonfly is pretty fun most people will choose to skip her faces but personally i don't mind that since fighting her normally is definitely possible and actually a good bit of fun knowing about dragonfly is impossible to kite it just takes a bit of skill to properly kill her her drops are also alright it's hard to get a good source of rare gems once you clear the runes and dragonfly can be killed for some the scale furnace is an amazing item for winter it's a permanent campfire that you can leave your thermal stones at to warm them up on top of that you can duplicate these scales if you ever want more of them first craft six scaled turfs with one scale then deconstruct these turfs for one scale each giving you a net profit of five scales i always found it kind of funny how dole starve uncompromising survival game of all games intentionally adds duplication methods into itself it's not really broken since you never need more than one scale but scaled flooring looks cool also you have a 1 in 3 chance to get the egg up to 8 here the boss fights here either get really creative order drops are just essential for your run and the first one is dear clubs who's probably the most iconic boss on this list he only has 4 thousand health making the weakest boss in all of don't starve together despite this when i first saw him he might as well have been invincible he managed to kill off the pig village and if somebody can kill off those invincible pigs and whatever killed them must be immortal squared there's nothing more terrifying in the game developers randomly throwing you a giant boss in the middle of the night during the season which your movement is limited to this circle then you learn that beefalo hats and kaiten exist and weapons and armor and healing and you know suddenly deer clubs is not a problem anymore he has the most basic attack pattern in the game just hit three times and then dodge though it's better to tank him because of his massive sandy drain you don't want to be fighting two terror beaks and deer clubs at the same time you may be wondering why dear collapse is so high on this list and that is mostly because not only is the eyebrow an amazing item but dear clubs has a secret second form it's called the feast clops he only spawns during winter's feast which is dawnstar's christmas event every giant will look slightly different to fit the season while deerclops he gets an entirely new attack his eye lets him shoot a laser which you dodge by moving sideways and out of its way it's really good there's no definitive way to figure out what he's going to do next he'll just have to carefully react to the feast club's attack animation if he moves his hands up then move away from him if he turns his head like he's about to shoot a laser then move a bit to the side to dodge it i think the game would benefit with more attacks like this instead of dodging by moving away you could have mobs that fire lasers at specific points the mechanical arms from hamlet already do this there's just like laser they fire and you can dodge it by walking around it onto the loot like i said the eyeball he drops is really good it's one of the few things that can pause a civil war and unite public servers into peacefully rolling for the umbrella the difference between having this item and not is insane like you'll be insane without it with the umbrella spring becomes autumn 2.0 since you can just wear it whenever rain starts to fall without it spring is a painful torture season where you're always wet and insane unless you like standing around with an umbrella it's no wonder there's half the number of spring servers as there is autumn servers people like the umbrella so much that no one wants to play without it next here's the thing about shipwrecked bosses because you can fight them on both land and water it's effectively two different boss fights depending on where you want to kill them the tiger shark has a really basic attack pattern after you go near this baby shark then he jumps out of the sky pounding the floor beneath him and that's about as interesting as it gets from there you can safely hit him three times before dodging not really too much going on however if you do decide to fight him in the water the place where sharks usually are then he gets a bit more interesting kite in him entirely depends on the speed of your boat and if you can dodge the constant waves he makes if you remember and don't starve together malbothros would also spam waves however these ones are a lot less annoying to deal with since they don't push you to the other side of the universe if you get hit after trying to eat you about three times tiger shark gets sick of your jumps out of the water and tries to crush you beneath his way if you weren't expecting this move you'll probably die it's weird seeing it don't starve boss fly into the sky and then proceed to use that as an attack the reason i'm going to put tiger shark in a is because of the amazing drops he has which let you craft shipwreck's version of the umbrella a hat that gives you 100 wetness immunity from rain next on the list is the celestial champion who might have the best boss fight in the game and is an example in how to do a good wooden don't starve once you learn the basics of the controls it's not hard to kill mobs you've never seen before since most enemies follow the dodged and attack pattern once you figure out how to kite one mob you've essentially learned how to kite all of them the same goes for a lot of bosses if you've killed deer clubs before then i can't imagine you would struggle with berger or moose goose since they're really similar in how they attack this isn't true at all for the celestial champion if you have never tried fighting him before then he will undoubtedly struggle and that's not because he uses some cheap tricks like stone locking the player so you can't do anything all of his attacks are fair game the only way to beat him is with raw skill or enough armor and healing you choose first phase of this case fairly simple all you need to do in this phase is dodge his roll after which he will summon a few gestalts or baby rage on the floor the second phase is when the fight starts to get difficult because now the celestial champion is spinning and rapidly approaching your location after the charge the celestial champion will do one of three moves he could smack you simone gestalts in your general direction or summon a bunch of spikes from the ground all three of these attacks can be avoided by standing a bit away wow you are really good at this game in the final phase the celestial champion accidentally breaks his legs causing him to stand still most of the time this makes the third phase the hardest part of the fight at first a bunch of white crystals will appear around him this prevents you from going near him as the white light will instantly put you to sleep should you touch it so what do you do the answer is to use his own attacks against him the celestial champion is a laser attack that will be used if you stand too far from him said laser destroys anything in its path including his own crystals what i like about this is that there's not just one laser attack but two and you won't know which one he's going to do unless you pay attention to how this tiny eye in the center of the torch moves when he fires three straight lines you want to stand anywhere that's not directly in front of him if it's a circular laser then the easiest way to avoid this is to stand a certain distance in front of the boss once the crystals are down then you can move in and kill the celestial champion and that's pretty much how you win for the boss 10 out of 10 but what about the item he drops in a game where every resource like hunger light and food will run out eventually it would only be fitting that you get infinite light source for killing the final boss you can use his crown as a permanent miners hat or you could deconstruct it to make lamps that are always on the celestial champion is my favorite boss and don't starve together look at his design his three phases represent the three crafting tables in the lunar island the game is literally making you fight a crafting table this is an amazing concept however there is one fatal flaw that absolutely destroys everything i have just talked about to summon the celestial champion you must first kill crab king wow man i haven't talked about you for like a solid 30 minutes and you're still fighting a way to ruin my day for this reason the celestial champion will be put in 80 or not in s the final boss of this tier is the pogolusk from hamlet i love abbasi you can speedrun on day 1 if you're good enough he is quite literally available from the start you just have to make it to his fountain on the other island one thing i always liked about hamlet bosses is how accessible they are you don't have to wait until a specific time of year or a specific moon cycle to fight them in the bugalisk's case you just find his fountain and steal the water and boom he appears this is easily the only boss i want turned into a raid boss for don't starve together the idea behind the fight is that you run around the fountain while he smashes the ground with his head as long as you avoid his tail and his face you should be fine the catch is you can only damage the pogolus in a specific weak spot right in the center of him meaning the only way to kill him is to get in between the two heavy damage sources on top of that midway through the fight he will start shooting freeze rays if he stands too far away you see what i mean about the speed a cool multiplayer boss the closer you are to killing pluglist the more he will spam the ice attack at you like he's desperately trying to freeze you in fact if he's doing nothing but shoot in freeze rays then there's a good chance he's one hit away from death the pogulisk is always the highlight of my early hamlet worlds since you can kill him on day one if you really wanted to if the boss fight can be experienced defining that i'd say is pretty good the drops are kind of in a weird spot though the fountain from the water can be turned into a touchstone which is pretty useful considering there's no naturally spawning ones in hamlet however you don't even have to kill the pocolusk to get the magic water if you really want to there's nothing stopping you from taking the water and then leaving the island without ever fighting the pogulus the loot he drops consists of some snake bones and a pogolusc wand the wand has to be one of the most useless items in this game it lets you freeze things in the same manner as the pluggers but the wand rots after 4 minutes you have to make the most of this wand in half of a day i guess you could just bundle wrap it allowing you to use it whenever you want since bundling wrap prevents items from spoiling and actually that's a really good idea i never thought of that still crapkin doesn't exist in single player so i can't freeze him to death using this bad item the other loot is a few snake bones which you can turn into soup and you know i'll be the first to say that this recipe is really good for two meat and two bones you can get 40 health for free you can even use two monster me if you really wanted to that makes this recipe basically free do you know how easy it is to get monster meat over any other meat in hamlet you can get it from random bugs in the ground spider monkeys mans or even the random bat waves that fall to the sky by killing the pogles you can get like 800 health for free eight here and now the moment you've all been waiting for the best boss fights and olive don't starve starting with claps this guy is basically the ultimate boss fight carrying him is a little bit tricky but becomes easy if you know what you're doing to spawn klaus you must find these deer who spawn in the mosaic or deciduous spine the deciduous spime is the one with the pigs and the orange ground while the mosaic is the one with random terps everywhere during winter the deer grow antlers and you can knock them off by hitting them and chasing the deer into a tree the antler is then used to unlock the cloud sack which also spawns somewhere in the deciduous or mosaic by when klaus enters the threat to cook you alive by summoning fire underneath you it's fairly easy to avoid but be warned that the more players you have the more fire will spawn after that moving close to bit his swipe after which you can safely hit him three times before dodging after the dodge you can hit him a good number of times after this klaus will summon either fire or ice spells and the fight repeats like this it's really simple there's nothing interesting about it at all he spawns a few krampus when he gets to half health and they are annoying to fight but that's about it then this happens here's the second form where claus starts jumping at you and becomes a lot harder to fight what really sells this boss for me is that in theory you could kill him with a hamba and nothing else like if you're really good you don't need to bring any extra equipment as long as you have some sort of weapon in phase 2 you want to dodge his jump by either standing out of range of it or by using his own sack to block it just stand behind the sack actually that's really easy to do after jumping bit his swipe and attack four more times but when you dodge this time run behind the sack again because klaus will prepare for a second jump from there klaus will summon more spells and the fight repeats oh yeah and if he does this animation then you can get three hits on him the second phase seems very difficult at first but becomes a lot easier when you start fighting him properly the worst thing you could do here is not attack klaus at all especially since running and hiding will only make the fight harder for yourself don't be afraid of the giant mouth in his stomach and you'll be fine there's also enraged klaus killing one of his deer spawns the most powerful mob in this entire game and i'm not joking and raged klaus is the hardest boss in all of don't starve so difficult that i wasn't even able to get close to killing him for this video he gets much higher health damage and defense only the best of the best of the best of the best will have enough will power and raw skill needed to defeat him and this is shown if you search enraged klaus on youtube very few people have managed to actually kill him the loot you get for clint klaus is either the best in the entire game or a complete dumpster fire you can get basically any drop from most of the bosses in these presents this is why i'm going to put klaus and s not only is he fun to fight but killing him can give you drops that other annoying bosses do without needing to fight the annoying boss if you absolutely suck at this game and have made it this far the one thing you should take away from it is to learn how to kill klaus he's not that hard when you get down to it and if you can kill him consistently every winter then you get free loot from other bosses that you likely can't kill just bring like 10 football helmets a hambach some healing and you'll do fine the eye of terror the terraria reference this guy is really cool not only because he's a fateful recreation of another game's boss but because the attacks translate really well imagine the ancient guardian except he doesn't take three years to kill and is actually fun that's what the eye is there's two other attacks and a second phase you have to watch out for but that's what it mostly boils down to despite being simple it's a lot of fun i'm going to count the eye of terror in the same spot as the twins since it's basically the same boss but twice in terraria the twins have different attacks which separates them from being that clone of the eye of cthulhu however in don't starve the twins didn't really translate well there's no new attacks and it's like fighting a stronger version of the boss but twice it's kind of funny though you're supposed to fight these two together and yeah it's really easy to separate them by standing a bit away but hey i'm not complaining fighting these two at the same time is actually painful by yourself and in groups the eyes will disappear the second the night ends however this isn't too much of an issue since they don't regenerate health when they do this if the i had 10 health when it despawned you could literally spawn it again and kill it in one hit the drops themselves are really good the shield of terror is probably my favorite weapon in this game not only does it last forever since you can feed it food to repair it but it also attacks faster and protects you from damage also you can turn the eyeball into ice cream for some reason overall really fun fight the last two bosses that clay added to the game were really good so that gives me a lot of hope for the future of this game now it's time for the boss at the very top the ancient hulk the ancient hulk is one of my favorite parts of hamlet right next to the puglisk basically if you assemble all the robot pieces around the map you summon a cool robot boss fight who could have guessed the ancient hulk has a lot of moves which still makes him fun after the 100th time you fight him here's the basic chomp move a teleport explosion kind of move lasers a stomp and even bombs this guy summons bombs that you have to avoid otherwise you'll blow up the land might stay on your world even after he's dead meaning you could technically die to the ancient hulk 10 days after you killed him i just love everything about this guy from the battle the design the music the drops that make you god and even the spawning method the tin he drops literally enables god mode and survival you cannot take damage while you are in this form and you can shoot lasers and it's awesome if you ever wanted to kill something for free or just terrorize the citizens of hamlet then the living artifact is for you i got a comment on one of my videos which points out how convoluted the game can be and why he doesn't play it this is the part that was linked have a listen on how to spawn the ancient fuelweaver summon the skeletal beam from the murals by first killing our hidden boss in a random corner of the caves and killing another boss on the surface which is actually a collection of three bosses only summonable on a very specific day now in comparison how do you spawn the ancient hulk you just move these robot pieces together to make one big robot it's simple and intuitive when i first played hamlet and i saw throws a robot hand and a robot foot in a robot body i knew instantly that you would be able to spawn a boss from them i think people's biggest problem with the boss is that he's really slow to re-summon after you kill him he explodes so don't stand next to him and all his parts get spread out randomly around this huge island connecting six robot pieces hidden around the map can be tiresome but luckily for you i have a solution for this exact problem there's this tiny island called the rock island and you want to build a telelocator focus on it next summon the ancient hulk and teleport him using the purple staff now when you kill him on the rock island all his pieces will fall on the small rock island allowing you to quickly re-summon and re-fight probably the most fun boss in the game you know what clay should do they should just add the ancient hulk and the poglisk to don't starve together and then like put them in the cave somewhere who would complain about that i know i wouldn't you don't even need to change anything about them other than maybe the health and the game would be a good bit better that just how great these bosses are so in summary fun boss who's spawnable every minute and his loot makes you god what is there not to like well okay there is one downside it's really small but it is there you don't get the living artifact from killing the ancient hulk you only get the infused iron which spoils after two days yeah it's iron a metal and it spoils like food go figure the problem is that you need infused iron and the puglisks live in water to craft the living artifact this forces you to kill both the pogulist and the ancient hulk to craft the item and you have to do this before the infused iron spoils which can be problematic if you're looking to farm this item this can be countered really easily though just bundle the infused iron to prevent it from spoiling and then you can kill the pogolisk every day because that's how fast he responds this would be where i end the video however there is one boss left that i have yet to talk about the ancient guardian the ancient guardian is the boss version of the rook they literally just made a bigger look and called it a day originally when i made this video the guardian was not very good most people just cheesed him to death by standing behind the pillar however since then claire's released a new beta and in it the guardian becomes probably the best boss in all of gold star fighting him and dodging the charge is really fun it almost feels like the guardian is kite in you and not the other way around what i really like about this is that there's another way to fight him that's more effective in the old versions you used to be able to cheese him on the pillar but now this is an actual feature if you get the guardian to charge into one of the four pillars he gets stunned allowing you to hit him this is crazy as far as i can tell this is the only don't starve boss that has a weakness you can exploit most other boss fights require you to spend five hundred dollars to cheese them or learn an intense kite in pattern the ancient guardian on the other hand is this giant strawn enemy that you can overcome once you outsmart him in his second phase the guardian starts being corrupted by the nightmare fuel sort of like how the ruins does when it goes into the nightmare phase the fuel starts leaking out of him someone in shallow tentacles restricting your movement by a bit it's not spammed that much to be obnoxious and it's used just enough so that you must watch where you're going this phase is practically the same as the first with an extra attack now the guardian will jump into the air and ground pound you talk about a cool animation if he misses you then the guardian will also get stunned allowing you to hit him again not only are the attacks really creative but the method of kine is decided by the player if you want to hide behind pillars the whole time and only attack when the guardian is stuck then you can do that if you want to get in close and kite the guardian's chomps then you can also do that and i haven't even mentioned his loot or where he spawns the ancient garden gives you a selection of the strongest items in the game for killing him everything from powerful weapons armor and a staff that someone's campfires can be found in this chest i know i said the guardian is just a bigger rook earlier but that doesn't take anything away from its design if anything adds more to it deep inside the caves within the most dangerous area you can find the maze it is in this maze that the giant live version of the rook resides guarding an ancient key just going to the guardian alone is a massive adventure so much that he is the key goal in the ruins rush even before the updated boss fight it's like the puglisk from hamlet there's this big scary monster on another island that can only be reached by traveling through an ancient ruin however if you're good enough you can speed run your way over there and kill him on day one it's the same thing with the guardian if you really wanted to you can rush him right at the start of the game it does take a bit of skill but the loot you get definitely makes the trip worth it and so i have decided to put the ancient guardian at the top of this tier list partly because everything about him is so amazing and well done and also because at one point during recording he went wide all of a sudden and then the game crashed i think might have been a death threat so as tier and that is the end of the video why is that guy still behind
