Racking & SSH Configuration of Cisco Switch in Data Center

what's up guys today I'm going to walk you through how to set up SSH on Cisco switch we're going to do it in three steps first inside a data center we're going to install our switch in the rack second step is to configure SSH on Cisco switch and then the last step is to remote access the switch let's Dive In [Music] okay guys as you can see we've got our end on a cool cut list 9200 for the a port as you can see and four speedy 10 gig SFP Port we have a console cable ready and a 4 cage knut and screw it's installation time step one I'm going to mount the switch in the rack and then make sure it's secure and next is to plug the power cable to the switch to the switch power supply and then find a pdu outlet and get it connected now it's the fun part we are going to install config configuration so before that let me put the console cable to the switch and then plug it to my USB in the computer so now we are going to open Party to conso into our reach open party and then click on serial so as you can see the seral line it's com one so we need to check the USB is goingn different come go to device manager um device manager and then search for Port com lpt so right here as you can see the USB is come eight so let me reduce this one um reduce it there we go so now uh we are going to change it to eight open um as you can see I'm able to console into the switch so enable so now we're going to do config t to start configuration config T so first we're going to set up host name so name is going to be uh training um no it's going to be uh Cloud Das training let going to be the host name of the switch make sure you put the host name SS you need to put the host name so now we're going to set up SS is going to be IP domain name Das your domain name so uh my my domain name is going to be uh cloudt training.com um it's just a test domain name and press enter uh we uh going to the next step so the next step is set up a public key so uh since s using public key so we're going to set up a public key to access our SSH so to do that it's going to be a u crypto key generate RSA crypto key generate RSA and then press enter um you can see from here the the cloud training OST name Cloud Das training OST name is there and then the domain name is there so he's using domain our OST name as a subdomain and then our domain name for the the the the public key the public name so also um asking how many bits how many bits it's uh for me I think the the the the the secure one is uh 2048 I'm going to put in 2048 so the the longer the bigger number you put is the secure of your key so for me I'm going to use 2048 2048 press enter and then let's give a little bit time it's going to do these things there we go so our key has been generate so now um I need to access so we we going to access um line V 04 I'm going to line vti 04 uh so from here we're going to do um transport input SS Mage so since uh we are going not to let tet so uh it's a transport input SSH and then login logo login logo is just for the to to to to locate the the the username in the local uh database so exit this part so want exit this part and then create the username so the username that we're going to create uh this username is the username that we going to be used to uh SSH into our device in a remote access so my using password is just Cisco Cisco so that's it that the SSH has been done so we just finish configuration of our SSH so it's ready to go yeah and then make sure that you have um IP address set up in your device and then um make sure that you uh save the configuration Before You Exit or before you uh restart the device so let's go to the next part voila we just finished setup SSH on Cisco switch so now I'm going to remote access SSH via party let's get started open Party type my IP address the p is going to be the same is by default and the SS selected just going to open type my username and password make sure that your password is secure I'm able to SSH to my switch so like like I said we did we rack the switch on the rack and then we do console access setup SSH so now I'm able to SSH via remote machine thank you for watching cloudy with Arnold subscribe to my YouTube channel I see you in the next one
