RACE 1 | NURBURGRING | GT4 EUROPEAN SERIES | ENGLISH

[Music] [Music] race one of the weekend at the nurburgring in the gt4 european series welcome everybody to a sunny area of germany and it's not like the nurburgring to be quite this good for quite so long of a day we started with bright sunshine this morning it has continued as we get set for one hour of gt4 racing uh the penultimate double header of the season the nurburgring and the surrounding area looking fantastic even allowing for all the flooding that was what only less than two months ago that this promises to be as they all have this year actually a very lively race indeed as the field makes its way now up towards the grid with a second pole of the season uh going the way of bayley voicing in qualifying it's another big busy grid as well as you look down onto the circuit there and the cars making their way into position championship wise uh bailey boys and charlie joint championship leaders with stefan lemare and out on potty they didn't qualify as well so the championship now very much advantage poison and and it's going to be barely voicing as the driver that did the qualifying session that will start the car but he and charlie being a very good combination of drivers no argument about that so that's the crew on pole position and with them at the front of the grid time in nabus is going to start in the v8 racing uh chevrolet so bailey voice in the time of nabals on the front row jan uh marlowski is on the second row with the second of the united auto sports mclarens gas bows at the wheel of it and then the third row stefan lameray going to try to outscore the pole car as best he can he will start and alongside him is going to be joel stern so from pole position it will be bailey voice in to start charlie will take over after he's spoken to gemma scott charlie obviously pole position a fantastic qualifying lap put in by um bailey there but joint leading the championship as well this is a tough few races ahead yeah it is i mean uh points is the main thing obviously and as you alluded to before bailey did a brilliant job in qualifying secured us another point for pole position which helps everything everything at this point uh really does help so no you did a brilliant job and like you said we've got to keep it clean now but also we're gonna keep them keep focusing keep trying to win races it's not now trying to you know damage limitation and just worry about the points let's keep trying to win and that's certainly a very strong pairing the two of you yeah average we're looking very good and bailey's just getting better and better every weekend so credit to him he's doing a fantastic job all week he said brilliantly and just one final question how are you finding the track here at the nurburgring i love nurburgring um i love the place i love the piston class as well with the the steak on the hot stone that's the coolest part so uh but yeah the circuit's really good too so hopefully we go well well if it's a good weekend we know where to find you tomorrow night exactly i'll see you there have a good one yeah the piston closer is the legendary restaurant just down the down down the road other restaurants are available i hasten to add right the grid forms then one hour of racing and we are about five minutes or so away from the formation that getting underway that's the car that is second on the grid the v8 racing uh chevrolet camaro with time and naviers to start your opponent will take over that is the type of car that with all the ground has always gone well around here think back to the days when it used to be uh duncan heisman that race the car have a vision of a wet race here with him hanging the tail out every lap coming off the last corner but the corvette at the camaro rather always goes well around here time of naboo is proving the point in the qualifying session this morning and after a tough start to the season at monza this squad has fought back very nicely and a win would be very well deserved indeed we've got some interlopers this weekend because gt4 is strong in germany there's the german championship and some of those have come into the championship one of them jan markowski third on the grid let's go back to the grid though and join that camaro with gemma [Music] obviously up the front row is where you want to be coming into that first corner is fairly tight do you think you guys can push forward and claim back a position here yes i don't i think so our race pace is very good we had a hard time in qualifying but as you can see time and put it together and so we're really happy with that because we know our race pace is strong so i'm confident we can take the spot on the podium you said you had a hard time in qualifying what was the problem uh this is not a trek for the ultimate track for this car so we're really happy to be on the front row there well have a great race thank you very much thank you thank you history argues with that given the results the cars had over the years here but maybe now the opposition is tougher they are better suited that's one of the interlopers at team zack speed jan markolovsky is uh third on the grid for the german team which of course hasn't just run carls over the years it's won many a championship it's also been a formula one team but for team zack speed jan marzilovsky certainly want to watch running in the silver cup and hopefully if this turns out to be a good result we might see them full-time uh in the future because it would be good to have zak speed in this championship and their fourth on the grid another of the united auto sports fleet of cars gas bowers will start i think i'm saying that's his best qualifying of the year but certainly a good job done and that car's on pole for race two thanks to dean mcdonald so again it has got pace if anything that needs to keep out of trouble because that's partly been his achilles heel this year getting in a bit of strife now again fifth on the grid there stefan lemare in the toyota supra the gr super the gazoo racing car the bells and whistles version the performance version and uh gazoo racing marketing these guys gained a lot more sponsorships in spa as well but uh potty don't just want sponsors they want points they want to win this championship and sixth on the grid is a car that won't spa uh joel sturm he will start nicolette mother madison will take over first season in the championship he's also shown good pace over the course of the season so here's another one that could have a part to play it's going to be interesting to see actually in this race how voicing and treat it whether they are determined to go for the race win and get maximum points or just bank points but equally even if they do that they can't afford to keep rolling over and giving points away so it's going to be interesting to see exactly how they play it rory mia house the israeli driver getting quicker and quicker all the time coming to some new circuits of course but mirror house and uh lining up then eighth on the grid ninth on the grid for the mirage racing team is rumor del sarte who will give way to tom canning for the second stint ruben delsar second generation racer and now engines fire as we get closer to the start of this first of the two races of the weekend so the grid now being cleared and in a moment or two we will be in business so between 25 and 35 minutes as is the regulation for the gt4 european series and of course with uh some cars on this grid being silver cap even to match drivers with some being pro am differing pace of driver because of course the pro is going to be the faster of the two so there are some cars that are going to be a little quicker within the second part of the race so the driver change time is going to be the pit lane delta of 27 seconds and the stop time of uh 65 which gives 92 seconds for a pit stop if you're doing a tire change then it becomes longer still but i don't think in this weather we need to worry about that so away everybody goes on to the formation that we'll have a look down the grid as they do so because our pole position is bailey voicing and with him at the front of the grid time in nabus it is mclaren and chevrolet at the front ahead of mercedes and mclaren ian marschalowski lining up alongside gas powers on row two stefan lemare starts fifth the head of joel sturm and then seven from the grid is where you find the rapid turkish driver chamber of classi ahead of roy miller house next on the grid is ruben del sarte and alongside him will be eduard cowhat next up comes marcus lungstrasse and christophe amor will be alongside him then uh xavier yoveras starts not luke ibn but alongside him he's going to be lauris caberu ahead of alexander hartwig and jean-luc daria robert constantine's on the nine for the grid with moritz krantz for company row 10 luca bosco lines up alongside evan shacoma and then on the 11th row of the grid fabian michelle want to watch in pro-am and cesar gazzo who is an outright winner of course at zamboan next up comes sebastian bode and then the car max whiskey then phillip barber and paul everett with the akka asp mercedes ahead of wilfried casablanc and phil durr behind them you've got niko gomar brainy class champion and hassan thompson who's bmw the alpine stefan garan next and alongside him the soloist in the race gregory faisal he does the whole race on his own so his pit stop is going to be a bit longer as a penalty uh robert however is next alongside eric clement jean-luc boba league starts on the 18th row of the grid we've got a bit of work for jim player to do patrick zamperini brought in at the last minute in the toyota supra replacing people hudson this morning road 19 is paolo maloney alongside giovanna lay not hugo conde vanille drives first the 20th row pascal bakama and christian geezy and then row 21 is maro ricci he will be the first driver there before giving way to his son borgemon ricci so the cars making this run up towards the rolling start will get themselves in formation in a moment [Music] and so there is the team looking on pit lane [Music] so as soon as the cars get closer to the end of the lap they'll get themselves in order and then we will be good to go racing the field forming up now into position up towards the chicane and then one hour of gt4 action will be underway number two mercedes there making its way up the hill that car to be started by edward cowhelp so the field now into place and we should be good to go any moment as the field makes its way into position then so the race director steve burns will have his eyes open to anybody transgressing at the start if he's not happy with the way they've lined up he can abort it do another lap but hopefully we should be good to go as the cars now go through the softer version of the chicane the so-called motorbike version up then towards turn 17 and then we will be set to go racing here then as the cars continue to make the run into the right-hander of turn 17 on the other side of it there'll be the green lights the green flag and the race underway to get this first of two races the ninth round of gt4 european series underway the cars come up now towards the timing line the lights go green we go racing and a good getaway is made then bye from the second row gas bowers who absolutely jumps the front also going for a gap in the middle there look yamashilovsky in the mercedes but it is going to be gas bows right around the outside but on the inside line he's going to be bailey voice in and he takes the lead so voicing just ahead vowels second martinovsky's made a good start and going backwards look it's the chevrolet because taiman nabuzz his fourth time in nabuzz is about to be fifth if he's not careful because he's got carl's on the outside line he just about muscles his way back through on the inside of joel sturm's porsche there but sturm stands his ground and he will get the inside line and he gets the place there going into turn four now stays alongside him they both go way way out wide even through the gravel i think they're certainly over the dirt wet time in that balls and the chevrolet has the inside line the camaro alongside the porsche down towards turn four they're still absolutely side by side as they turn in so bailey boys in lead second guest bows it's a one-two at the moment for the united auto sports squad that's where emir has been forced out wide in the white and yellow audi rattles its way over the curb and back onto the racetrack but the two mclarens fleet of foot on the opening lap they lead third yeah fourth in the bmw step on leverage seventh as they make the climb up the hill now [Music] so the car will turn up through the schumacher s and then to accelerate their way to the revenue curve for the first time but right now those mclarens looking very very strong each has taken the pole position this morning and now they've run one two in the race as they're edward kowhat gets overtaken by number 30 which is going to be started the alpene in this race by cesar galzo so says it goes by picks up the place and the carl's now making the run through the there to the inside line and up the curb as well because ruben delsart falling away a little bit as the pack now descends the publisher came for the first time [Music] through that left right flick could be really bold to overtake there was an effort made in the background and it's come to nothing look because the car arrives backwards one of the mercedes has been turned around and that looks like jean-luc daria's car i fear it was the team speed car robert constanti that made the move and it wasn't really on at that chicane because it's more of a flowing corner it's not a start stop as other chicanes so the net result is that number 70 mercedes gets turned around and jean-luc dario will be very grumpy indeed about that so there's joel sturm pressing on spa winner but he's under attack look because time and navajo is in the ground and go chevrolet lays right there behind him and running six this chamber at bowsey as well as the cars now drop down towards turn three once again they've also got the yellow outing very clever into the pit lane early doors leaders go through out of turn four into five now and the lead gap at the end of the first lap bailey boys into gas bows was just over a second so despite how close they were into the first corner it's even out a little bit now [Music] so the field turns through turns downhill and as far as the race lead is concerned poison trying to build that gap now the danger is going to be the jan marschalovsky mercedes that runs in third place because that car has been very rapid indeed and in terms of the championship it's got nothing to lose they're not fighting for the championship they just want to race win so that car in a way they need to just be mindful of let's take into account its relative pace as the leaders accelerate their way through lap number two then so pit window 25 to 35 minutes and as i mentioned a little while ago this 92 second pit stop time but the race leaders accelerate through their number two going by is edward carrhope and behind him house so having been off the road he's dropped down the pack a little bit and number 17 has got going again after it spin but a long long way oh and it stops again so i promise you daria did get going but it's pulled off within the mercedes arena right place to park i guess if you have to park but that car with the damage going no further and the fact that it's out of the race he's only getting in as there one of the mclarens makes a mistake that was gas bowers out of second place so gas bowers off the road with the mistake coming out of the chicane and that gives now a free ride to bailey boise but it also gives second place to yamashinovsky who goes through under attack bowers wants the place back but it was all self-induced that he ran out wide and the opportunistic mercedes gains the position as a backstrand say that with the mercedes out of the race number 70 that gives the stewards if you'd like more ammunition to look at a penalty for the aggressor and the chicane but for the moment he's all eyes on second place yeah marshallowski has gone through as you see but he's coming under attack from a rather red-faced gas bowers who wants that position back and he wants it back pronto fourth is sturm there fifth time in naboo is behind joel then sixth chamber of bars he settled this stephan lebron in the toyota not really making the progress he needs to make now 66 69 early i should say of michael blanchard heads downhill so class leaders at the moment well in the silver cup bailey voicing uh has the advantage uh the car of marcus lungstrasse number 18 is currently the leading am entry and in pro am 35 morris prance for the center's lag racing team and drama there as libero goes deep into turn eight and loses yet more ground as a consequence remember this is the joint championship leading car joined with the overall race leader so lemare can afford to give away places he must have a problem because that car just does not have the grunt coming up the hill just thought for a moment it might look a bit low at the back like he's got a soft tire but stefan lemare has got a problem look they're streaming past him so lemare is in strife we've got a yellow flag in the first sector possibly as they retrieve the number 17 mercedes but for the championship things are going very very well on two fronts now for bayley boyzen and charlie one they're leading the race to the opposition here he's fading away does it look low it's my old eyes there's the toyota it's certainly got no pace so gemma's going to be on the toes in a minute down the pit lane because i fear he'll be coming in big big problems for the number eight toyota then stefan lavree losing more ground up towards the chicane [Music] he doesn't come to the pits he stays out interesting but the car he's fighting a forlorn hope he's just got no ground anymore so lemorade down to 14th and four places to be lost [Music] it's not like he's gone into limp home mode it's almost like he's got a smaller edge all of a sudden he's just got no pace to the outside live there look number 69 audi so a challenge being offered up in this great battle that goes on christopher up the inside for the class lead against marcus look strass he'll go through and going with them loris kamirou in the lp tries to squeeze at the inside line as well kabiru is alongside the aston but he's on the wrong line for the next corner so as they turn now onto the straight down towards turn five christopher is the new amp class leader from lung straps the pair of them now split by loris kabaru he's gone through in the alpe that has been a really rapid car this season and it's still rapping right now as the field heads downhill once again kangaroo from the cmr squad the same team that runs the toyota so busy team running lots of cars but different brands as well which is pretty rare these days i thought i heard a squeal of tyres in the background suggesting somebody might have had a brake grab going into turn eight here but as the field comes through no sign of anybody being off the road up the hill they climb once more [Music] [Music] hangs onto the place [Music] jean-luc darius mercedes was indeed assaulted by robert konstani and it's being looked at that incident by the officials we've gone green in the first sector and we're almost at the end of the first lively 10 minutes as bailey boys in leads now by 2.4 seconds [Music] so has just done the fast slap of the race in fact his second spot he brings the gap down a fraction and joel sturm almost gets the tap in the rear from time of naboos who was late on the breaks that's fourth and fifth and sixth the bmw of their champions next up as they go up to turn three now balabasy goes through but not closing on the chevrolet right now [Music] number 17. the v8 racing squad the dutch team with the chevrolet but up front the very aero friendly mclarens of united auto sports the only team to be running one of those cars this year holds sway number 69 is the am leading out here christoph amore at the wheel of it and no investigation necessary for the incident between consonant and dario so that's been noted the stewards have had a look and said nope that's fine carry on replay here of stefan lemare in more strife down at the first corner and eventually the car just comes to a halt and that causes mayhem behind and people have to scatter but has lamere got going as far as the pit lane or is that car just tumbling down the order i think it has remained there so yeah stefan lemare he's not circulating and that's very bad news why didn't pitt with the car losing pace i don't know but the car has ground to a halt on the track now there's no yellow flag shown on our timing screen so maybe has now got going again albeit out of harm's way but stefan lemare clearly with a problem yes he has got going and off the road has gone christopher so he's just thrown away his class lead does that put marcus lung straps ahead of him in the aston martin it should do because yes he's gone through anyway and then there was contact uh eduard coho getting into the back of christopher turning him around so new class leader and inaudible potty with a problem no doubt about it now did the car stop and reset and set off again if it was a control delete type affair stopping on the track was pretty risky but anyway lemare is circulating but he lost a chunk of time a bigger chunk of time in that first sector of that lap mashallowski is bringing down the gap to bailey voicing now so having said the mclarens looked good they do but so does that mercedes of the german team so from the adacs championship yeah marcialovsky closing the gap to bailey voicing and is that battle gonna come alive before we get to the pit window opening which is at the 25 minute mark who is doing his usual thing here being very very quick in the first stint and then henrik pedersen who takes over the hella package racing one entry just isn't as quick so that car falls away but look strass trying to remind people how good he is and he's doing it again so rising to the challenge getting on with the task in hand here marcus lungstrasse leading the class again having been a regular racer in german production car series and the alpha 147 cup and in the ktm crossbow challenge in hungary as well so down the hill he drops now [Music] the damage of the car edward they're trying to keep at bay zavio yoveras in the mercedes [Music] out of the chicane that was a very gravely part of the racetrack earlier on in the day with so many people having dragged rubbish onto the circuit it's been swept but it's got dirty again partly with junk rubber part with gravel as a challenge he's made and javaris goes through on the inside line there picks up the place and out wide goes curve which also now brings robert constantly into the mix of the pink audi to the outside and he's done it he's gone by so edward kohut drops back and the next car to come up and attack him is going to be the one that made contact with him earlier on christopher who had that spin after the tag between them at the s's [Music] lots of lights flashing further back as well says algazzo is in a big big hurry and the aston martin as the leaders go past the pits once again boys into marshallovsky the game's coming down all the while now 1.2 seconds so down towards the right-hander of turn one they come and there look a challenge made on the inside that says arkansas zamboa winner making a move against edward he goes through and also at the outside line now comes fabian marshall tries to get around the mercedes he does so that's significant as the pro-am audi of michelle fights forward behind as well as number 11 the bmw of hassan tauzu that's coming through the order nicely so what's going on in this no question about it [Music] so the race leaders currently work lap number seven and up front bailey voices advantage hovering around 1.2 seconds right now because jan marzialovsky has proved he's quick he's done the fastest lap of the race and he's still on a mission [Music] [Music] race leaders make the climb up the hill once again here and get there gazzo under attack that was found behind michelle now that is interesting in the sense that you've got the am from a pro-am car attacking a silver cap entry but uh fabian michelle is an am plus really he's also under attack from hassan tansu there's all dust settling as people run wide coming out of the bilstein curve down now towards the advantage speed building all the way through this section of the circuit as the race leaders have just gone across the line with the margin between them being now 1.2 seconds once again [Music] so the race leaders go over the timing line the midfield battle comes through xavier yoveras at the head of that queue ahead of konstani out of gaza who's on the move as well christophe ammo still involved but having lost his class lead he's actually lost quite a lot of ground to marcus longstrous and down the pit lane has just come number two mercedes edward coho down the pit road suggesting that the damage has got worse on that car after the contact early on with ammon and there is the yellow valley of christopher on the tail of the similar car of robert corceni which has also been involved in the skirmish in this race [Music] the field accelerates again down through turn five so right now the lead gap one point two the voice into marlowski gas bowers runs third timer nabuzz runs fourth fifth chamber at bowser sixth lori's cabiru and then it's long strass from mayor house krantz and del sarte to round out the top ten stefan labrae is in the pit lane so the trouble toyota but it did get going and somebody else that we've lost somewhere and we haven't got to the bottom of how is joel sturm so the porsche that was running in the top five top six early on that has dropped a long long way down as well into last place must have been a spin out of view but the black porsche has had dramas which is pretty significant but you can see the woes at the cmr stable the supra bonded up big big problems so anything now in this race is effectively a test session for tomorrow to try to make sure that that car is fitting well so stefan emery very frustrated indeed that car might be able to go back out but as i say only as a test [Music] mercedes number thirteen comes up towards the line this is the second place car young marshallowski chasing after bayley boise who's doing what he needs to do hanging on to the lead in the first stint marshallowski is gonna hand over the zack speed car to tio nueve who won his class in the championship last year so it's a really good combination here even though noah hasn't been seen all that often in the european gt4 series he's been racking up the miles in this car in the german championship so it's looking good there it is in second place third gus bowers i mean made that mistake but interrupted the flow of a one-two for united auto sports car off in the background look coming out of turn 17 he just saw at the top of the shot there a car in the gravel and there it is it's the number three toyota not a good day for toyota's this that is wilfried casalbon in strife everybody else comes pouring out of turn one and we've got another battered mercedes with it's hanging off the back there kazar bomb is out of the gravel he's got the wipers on but he has got gang again which is the good news spits gravel onto the racetrack but he's away back into the fray yellow flags withdrawal then as their number 74 of sebastian bode goes through chasing after the hassan tanzu bmw sebastian vogue drops down the hill and how did kazavo fall off the road it was with help clearly it was with help a big whack from the number 19 mercedes which is being driven by robert halb because albany can feel a bit aggrieved about that [Music] so zargazzo making progress [Music] incident between number two which is edward cope and 69 christoph ammar we saw that a little while ago that's being looked at by the officials as more dust is settling there on the inside of the bilstein curve now we're not that far away from the pit window opening only about six minutes or so the leaders go over the line and the gap has widened the touch this time between poison and marshallowski this is the train of carls lower down coming up towards the chicane race order on the screen right now as well confirming poison from martial oscar powers from naboo bowser from kangaroo but the circuit ever more dusty more and more people skating off the road as their number 126 of rafael villanueva comes through at the wheel of that car at the moment i should point out mirror not the mirror of the passenger window peeling off fabio michel dowdy but he's putting himself up pasta who is under attack now from sebastian bode as they go through that's the mercedes with more bits hanging off the back of it sebastian bird and enzo julia the drivers of that car both for stick one julia first two and nose to tail here number 15 of xavier yoveras now right onto the back of robert konstani although they've traded places constantly making progress forward but the mercedes wants that spot back again it's curious that mercedes just hasn't really showed the pace here even though they had a win at paul ricard earlier on in the season and you kind of expect that car to be a front runner but this weekend it's just been a little bit off the pace for whatever reason but that's not as good as normal race leaders climbed the hill and now through the schumacher s more gravel has been kicked up so the road is dusty once again and it was the porsche i think it was doing the kicking that time around so uh alexander hartvick's car having made the error leaders go through and now drop down hill once again [Music] so as the cars turned through race leaders work lap 11 now poison to marshallowski still only 1.2 seconds [Music] big battle on here as against sebastian bode thinks about where he can make a move and also lower down you've got ray and my house and maurice krantz kratz and the yellow mercedes on the back trying to fend off reuben del sar challenge in the aston martin he's not a million miles a drift either three minutes now for the pit stop window opening in a number of cases the abs go first so they'll be in quickly expect much shuffling of the order here [Music] bit of debris in the road there that people are having to dodge around inevitably somebody's going to run over that due course unless there's a full course yellow to retrieve it but for the moment people jinking around it downhill plunges moritz krantz then who is still leading in the pro-am fight from alexander hartfig and then fabian michelle right now romeo has in the audi another of the silvers as he comes out of turn eight then still hangs on to that eighth place overall the leading out is seven so again marcus lunch doing an outstanding job that is the sixth place alpene going through of lawrence caviaroo that's lungstrasse and there's mia house ahead of kratz ahead of delsarte next through the race leaders down towards us then for the eleventh time bayley voice in ahead of jan marzolowski the mercedes staying in touch it's going to be a really interesting second stint but different drivers in these cars evenly matched at the moment and we'll see what pans out between them as that through the chicane they turn [Music] number 13 mercedes then if you're marshallowski comes out of turn 17 this time up towards the line [Music] you can hear the chevrolet by the way i can't use it rumbles its way through in fourth spot and uh keeping chambolla bowser's bmw a safe distance behind as they come over the line the leading gap is down the fraction again it's now 11 tenths of a second between the top two [Music] so gas bowers you're looking at in that third spot comes towards the end of his stint potentially because if dean mcdonald has a pole position to his name does it make sense to put him in the car a little bit longer he's got the pace he's done a good job though has gus bowers in that first hit apart from that mistake but he's kept the car in the mix kept it third he's not actually lost any more time two time in naboo so he's remained within that leading group but the sister car continues to hold sway up front bailey voicing at the wheel of it he's been learning a lot of new circuits this year this is another of them but a second pole position very very impressive indeed all these other racing of course done in the uk but paley poison comes then out of the turn eight right-hander to the eye that gap is down again now it's not yet been less than a second but it could be on this lap is this where ua brings voicing into the pit lane and puts charlie fagg into the car starts defending he's gonna lose time so that would be in a sense a bit of a false economy he might keep the lead but he'd be losing time against the others so let's see what the plan is 13 seconds now to get the pick window open it will be open by the time this car exits the chicane and so united auto sports has a decision to make this time around but you can see how the gap has come down on this lap alone [Music] pit window opens up to the chicane now comes race leader bailly voicing and we'll see what line he takes on exit whether he goes for the pit lane or not the answer is he stays out the mercedes chases and it's the other mclaren that comes in in third place look so gas bowers bales gives way to dean mcdonald that's the first car into the pits out of the leading gaggle as the window opens that's perfect timing actually for the front runners for a change quite often it opens midway around the lap so it helps the stragglers but this time around it has come vows and i think also in ruben del sar there in the aston martin 55 to give way to tom lots canning heading into the pits out of that group fabian michelle is in also how santanzo is in and sebastian bode is in to mcdonald's [Music] so the pit stop time 92 seconds remember line to line um the team's policing that making sure that it's adhered to then that car can be released also in number 19 the second of the zack speed cars there which now will be taken over by gabriella yorkover after robert howard's earlier stint well there are the two race leaders the cat was less than the second at the end of the previous lap of eight tenths it's gonna be even less again but now they've cycled one car through the ua pick and they welcome another one same exact speed actually they both brought both teams and brought the second string car in first the higher place stays out a little bit longer but maybe now is the time to bring both of these cars in downhill they come so 23 race leader bailey boyson at the wheel of it approaches the end of the lap and is it going to be a pit in lap this time we'll see the answer is yes he club was the curve a little bit but bailey voicing heads for the pit lane and that means at the end of the lap he's going to be in the lead number 13 then marzolovsky will come through he takes that longer line but the faster speed oh dear big big drama there for the der group aston that's caught fire in the pit lane all the breaks possibly have caught far and been extinguished but high drama for uh philip derp who brought the car in so whether that's gonna go back out again i don't know but there marshall standing no messing with his uh fire extinguisher whether that was a bit overzealous for a break fire you can make up your own mind but the team won't be very impressed about it because that's going to do an awful lot of damage in terms of having to clean one area of the car anyway um the extinguishment has been used come what may but if it was a break fire would probably burnt itself out so that's why i say it might have been a bit overzealous but you could argue better to be safe than sorry is the leading car then of jan marzolowski tries to build a gap and now dean mcdonald having taken over this car the mclaren that rounds currently in on the classification 22nd the best of the stoppers he'll gain more ground of course without the cycle through their stops including that car charlie takes over from bailey boysen led pretty much all of it stint before it bailed for the pit lane and now comes to its pit stop [Music] so the pit window remains open there's still plenty more to come in and serve the mandatory stop we have this 10-minute window to do it and 23 is set to be waved away jd hemings it looks like on the radio there to charlie facts and say okay now you can go and out goes charlie into the race and stays ahead of the sister car so maintains track position we've got the mclarens through together then the next question is where they are going to be in relation to number 13 mercedes when that pits [Music] it is in this time so after a lap in the lead number 13 bales for the pit road now [Music] now the pit road rumbles the exact speed entry [Music] takes over the race lead so we need to see where 23 mclaren is in relation to that car at the end of this lap jan marshallowski gives way and taking that car over teo nue who as i was saying earlier on the class champion reigning class champion so very very quick indeed bailly boys in having given way to charlie charlie on his outlet finding traffic ahead of him as for ralph keller's uh christian gizzy audi christian gizzy at the wheel of it the am but maximizing his time behind the wheel well calendars knows there's not much of a result to be gained out of this so he's pretty much happy to let chris yankees enjoy himself and he'll do what he can so charlie goes through but slightly delayed but is he going to be able to maintain that race lead let's see as the cars come through drama here in replay as well marcus lungstraps being attacked by our jim clark i suspect real fine was taking over 87 because that was a typical i'm coming through i'm in a big hurry with a lot of work to do jim plar move 23 up to turn 17 on the road down the pit lane slowly goes to mercedes but it's going to jump ahead isn't it so number 13 mercedes on the pit stop she's going to jump ahead it does indeed but it's going to be close by the time it gets to the line for turn one here's the mclaren on the outside line charlie tries to make the move and he just gets in front but goes deep into the corner and gets run out wide and so now t.o newey secures the advantage so a change on the pit stops then teo nue goes through that pit stop time one minute 32.7 seconds and as far as charlie thanks car is concerned it was one minute 32.5 seconds so fractionally quicker but being held up in the traffic on the outlap has gone against charlie fact as we saw so teonue jumps ahead of him there is dean mcdonald in third place so this is the lead battle that's even closer now and it's in a different order than it was in the first half of the race so now the pressure is on charlie fagg one lap longer into his stint to try and get on top of teo nueve before newegg gets into a rhythm and gets confident in the car downhill they run as into the pits giving up the race lead time and now buzz to give way to yacht rapage so they're mounting the pressure all the time against the mercedes is the charging charlie [Music] makes the climb up the hill they dance their way over the curbs when charlie has got the pace he's staying with it which is the good news he's not letting the mercedes get away so we're on for a good fight now between these two [Music] mclaren which has taken three race wins this year up against a real interloper first time out in the championship so zack speed versus united auto sports it is tio nueve taking on charlie but actually the mclaren looking the quicker at this section of the circuit running wide trims the lawn on the outside as it runs up against the dirt there into the chicane so certainly the mclaren has got the pace but the mercedes just grew in with a little bit there upper curb they both ride and so a move at turn one has to start here doesn't it through turn 17 neatly get a good run onto the pit straight and then attack at the first corner [Music] away from a crowded pit lane goes got the pog there are the race leaders that go by he's not going to butch up isn't it for fourth and fifth as well so as a lapper go to the outside line looks the mclaren back into third place then he's number 32 and the chevrolet camaro fourth after the pit stops now getting a bit more committed to all of this 26 minutes on the clock tries the outside at turn two the inside for three is what he wants but if he can get the outside line here the road would come to him for the next left-hander but sorry the next right-hander i should say but he elects not to do it the zack speed mercedes fence him off for the moment [Music] wide over the curb there goes t newey a race leader but charlie right there behind him so now he's having a different sort of a race his co-driver was able to control the pace from the front but now it is charlie being the chaser not the chase [Music] to turn eight they come tighter line employed by the mclaren toyota hangs onto the position gets on the power drifts a little bit wide that's his dust that's hanging in the air coming out of the corner third and fourth not that far behind either so perhaps closer at the start of the second step than he was in the first out of the schumacher s they go now 25 minutes and counting [Music] matteo louis trying to swat away the challenge from behind courtesy of charlie yet to pit alexander heartbeats porsche by the way so that leads the way but the pit window is about to expire isn't it so that car if it doesn't come in the next two seconds it's going to end up with a penalty because the pit window is now closed and the number 26 porsche in the lead but not shown as having done a pit stop so that's going to cop a penalty as the leaders in real terms those that have made a stop come now as one out of the chicane at that big steep curve almost like a pavement on the outside and now towards the timing line once more now that's the heart big porsche and they've missed the window so jean camathias should take that car over but it's not shown as having made a stop and therefore a time penalty one anticipates will be the net result [Music] this is still ahead of dean mcdonald is closing as well as they make the run now up through the arena but a good effort this by t.o newey because he's keeping at bay charlie challenge no question about it [Music] right there just riding the curve having to correct the car as it tries to squirm away from him he's not being able to get away but equally charlie is not quite close enough to make that move so the margin is what a length last time over the line it was three tenths of a second all it takes is one little slip out of nowhere and it'll all change downhill goes the mercedes then still clear up front [Music] so lap 18 for alexander harvick who is in the pits but too late and the race leaders coming up towards the timing line i'd say race leaders they are realistically the race leaders because as soon as that porsche rejoices the fall back into place there it is but it's all too late now gianca matheus will get in but for what purpose the penalty looms and therefore a race result goes by the board so new eight just ahead of and again the mclaren quick at this part of the circuit charlie flag charlie applies the pressure tries to force the mistake out of nowhere but he's going to be mindful here that mcdonnell is almost with him in third place and he's taking with him yatra porsche fourth in the chevrolet new way a little bit deeper into turn 17 does that waste a fraction of time gives charlie maybe renewed optimism now as they come up towards the line once again the margin between mercedes and mclaren as they go through therefore is now four tenths of a second it closes again under breaking for the first corner so through they turn almost as one now out of the mercedes arena mercedes leads more drama coming out of the chicane here way out wide almost to the launch line for there was that the cleveland silent audi number 14 it was so clever zeiler off the road and eventually back on again either the saturn have to get back on the circuit so why did he gone but the three race leaders and it is definitely three for the lead now work this 18th lap they're heading down towards turn eight so tia noe leads the way he's doing a good job in the lead of the race as well with standing the pressure but for how much longer can he do that again deep into turn eight closing up onto the tail number 23 mclaren right there behind so charlie fagg still tries to make newer nervous make him make an error 21 minutes then the final third of the race about to be started as the cars work their way yet again out of the hillstone curve [Music] so they're going through mercedes versus mclaren versus mclaren in fourth place the chevrolet is just falling away a little bit now so it's three rather than four in that leading queue pit window closed still one or two investigations going on like jim player on henrik pedersen pedersen still leads the arms by the way from michelle launcher and then eric hair but the race leaders go through and it is now louie to four tenths and it's six tenths flag to macdonald so ua still looking strong but it's all about new way withstanding the pressure now and it's a long long stint to withstand it for 20 minutes yet to go in this race so the cars accelerate now up through turn four and now the run down again towards the fast sweep downhill through towards turn eight matteo do a race leader hustles the car in there is no doubt he is under pressure and charlie again they're forcing new way to really work the car the back this time tries to break away from the driver but being held well 26 is under investigation alexander harvick stopping outside the window no surprise there we've got greg gilbert under investigation for speeding in the pit lane a bit more surprising and the leaders are at turn eight and we're on lap number 19 and it is still mercedes from mclaren [Music] so the race leaders make the climb into the bellstein curve charlie trying to work out what he can do next he's applying the pressure and louie has not yet cracked so does the mclaren have better pace anyway this is a section where it has looked good in the past but teo nue is doing a really good job of hanging on in there isn't he right now the leaders come towards us on this lap number 19. through they turn dean mcdonald just having lost a length also but charlie fagg very definitely is he's taking the battle to tio nueve sitting in the dirty air he's asking a lot therefore out of the tyres so ideally that move needs to come and it needs to come pretty soon before it has the negative effect on the rubber noah doing everything absolutely right though hanging onto position hanging on to that lead comes through over the line the loomi ranks has position one for number 13 mercedes but charlie faggi is right there even closer this time it was half a second over the line but the gap is down as they come through the arena they need to turn three clock ticks on down louie takes a massive chunk of curb on the inside line there to try and shorten the line to try to gain an advantage out of that but it's no avail because charlie just won't go away he's still in touch the leaders go through together once again lap 20 now time with nabuzz is a really sorry y'all punch i should say is a really frustrating one in fourth because that car just can not quite get close enough to the more recent gt4 creations from mclaren and mercedes to hold the car by construction it's a simpler car by concept you could argue as well but right now number 13 mercedes still leads the way to newer uses as much curve as he does there so too does charlie bag is the change gonna come as they head now into the left and right through the bilstein and ravenol curves [Music] tio nueve spongelite soaks up the pressure from charlie who in turn will be mindful of where dean mcdonald is although dean likewise will be being told on the radio perhaps best not attack your teammate who's going for a championship here [Applause] bouncing over and up the curb goes knew eight this will put 20 laps in the book for that car [Music] up towards the timing line once again through they turn so mercedes leads mclaren is this going to give your opponent a chance of getting closer again it just looked as though that car might have gained a little bit of ground in the background as they come into the arena once again the zack speed mercedes still leads the way still clear up front charlie fang applying more and more and more pressure now but he's gonna have to make a move sooner or later is he close enough to make a move though not quite is he still a length or so too far back [Music] so they turn now down into turns five and six two annuity at the wheel of the leading car and you can see just how hard he has got to work so an aston martin driver last year with success in this championship a drive-through penalty is being given to gerald matthias for alexander harvick stopping too late and there the mercedes with quarter of an hour on the clock leads the way but still there is just nothing that can be done by the mclaren in second place because charlie fang here drops back on the climb up the hill that's where the grunt of the mercedes seems to score but then other sections the arrow of the mclaren just cut through the air very nicely and brings it back into the mix blue and orange mclarens traditional bruce mclaren orange color that was pioneered through bruce's time in charge of the company whether it was on formula one or can-am sports cars and has been brought back as the mclaren color of late but they're teo nueve and the red white and blue mobile colors long time supporters of zac speed's gt racing leads away a team started by eric zakowski continued by his son peter zakowski from group c racing predominantly with ford's and also german group five into formula one for a time remember the zack speed from the one cars of the mid eighties then into fia gt into gt4 88 gt masters it's a team that's never gone away always remain successful always remain strong and could be on for a win here in the european gt4 series for the first time as t.o newey leads charlie down towards turn one bailey boys must be the most frustrated man in the house because he did everything right in his stint and yet and yet and yet they're chasing for a win having led all of the first half of it [Music] out of turn four go the leaders over the line the gap was up actually the seven tenths of a second so are we now starting to see nue just gain the advantage over the mclaren i still wonder whether charlie having sat in the dirty air for so long might have done the tires a bit of no good and maybe that was clever on neway's part to force the issue knowing that if was cooped up behind him for so long he'd be able to make a bit more of an advantage after a few laps because of the wear on the tyres there's quite a lot of communication going on in the marshall zone in front of me which is where the uh [Music] marshals communicate with race control as though something might be looming aboard might be coming out in a moment but as the leaders go by that is now a gap isn't it it's not just nose to tail charlie not quite as close as he needs to be and marshawski did the fastest lap of the race in the first stint and that good work being carried on by the number 13 mercedes now in the hands of teo nue now what can charlie do does he take a lap also to let the tiles recover and then push again or can he no longer push has that car gone past its best well either way he's running second and the other one that's dropped away quite a chunk is dean mcdonald isn't it in third place that car has fallen back markedly in that third position fourth still is got rapaj fifth is becky besters bmw and six thousand belchoirs in the quickest of the alps so the leaders go through seven tenths of a second last time eight tenths of a second this time it's now starting to piece together somewhat isn't it for the zack speed mercedes as teo nue goes round the first right-hander charlie still does the chasing in second spot but are we now looking at this becoming a mercedes win it just looks as though lap by lap things are getting a little bit more settled up front charlie fang again drops downhill [Music] [Music] now what's going on the classes that's your pro am leader greg gilbert despite the fact that the window's peeling out of the side i think it's been taped up in the pit stop to no avail but they've taken over the lead of the class jakub knoll having taken over from moritz crown to support him back into second place and third in pro am now jagish gaelic who's replaced uh azantanzu in number 11 bmw number 15 with luckyvanyath at the wheel of the car comes up the hill but greg gilbert looking for yet another pro am win they had one at monza they had two at paul rickard one at zamboa one at spa so they've been the dominant crew greg gilbert and fabian michelle sixth out of nine races beckons then right now was there his number 15 mercedes which like i said earlier on has just not really had the pace all weekend so they're going through his if any f this car running 10th and 10th in class as well 10th overall 10th of the silvers but it's about to be 11 by fear as greg gilbert the pro-am leader comes up to have a go gilbert mounts the attack now for turn one start it here see how it pans out around the corner so the leaders go through the lead margin over a second now it's game over i think teo noe mclaren but greg gilbert with nine minutes on the clock he's about to go tenth overall goes through on the inside good move that and there's just nothing that that mercedes can do that just does not have anything like the pace of say the zack speed car does it so through goes number 42 audi gains ground takes the place and not only that but also has a bit of a cushion now over the second place uh pro alma entry which is jagish gaidic he's also moved ahead of jakub knoll who's failing a little bit as another battle comes up towards the line here involving aston martin and porsche back onto the road ahead in 24th place anthony hudson taking over from patrick zamparini behind is eric hair you've got max personality in the porsche that's a long way down number 718 cayman and it's about to go further down as greg feissel comes up on the outside line to try to go by can't quite do it runs out of row there with eight more minutes on the clock now [Music] [Music] so we ended up with quite a few heading for the pits but max personally is about to try and make a move here the cayman out of pro am up against eric hairs aston but he can't find a way around on the outside line nor the inside there either that porsche has been a quick car this year it has been twice a class winner but it's another one that just does not have the pace here for whatever reason evan giacomo did the first in max posnelli taking it over he will start tomorrow's second race of course it's one driver one qualifying session and you start the race that you did the time for [Music] so there craig faisal goes through still hustling on [Music] so as the porsche comes up to the outside of eric has aston martin there's a gap just about but i'm not convinced that brusnell is going to get it done in time for the chicanes he's going to try he's going to try and he does go through brave stuff there committed to the line and ultimately eric hair had to lift because the line was just nowhere for him to go but nelly had occupied it so max personally does go through all of that work for 25th place a long way down but it was a good move and it worked out well a replay of another drama here that was constantine lucknow's number 27 aston getting involved now the scattering has he run a bit wide having been delayed and having been given a bit of a hit and shoulder as well but they all survive more or less as they're to the inside goes jim parr getting up past joel camathias [Music] now that is jacques who's suddenly gained a lot of ground against dean mcdonald as one mclaren has fallen away and other one has also been caught so charlie found 1.2 seconds back with theo newey with just under six minutes on the clock [Music] [Music] out of turn one they run then this starts lap 26 we're going to have time for certainly two more laps at the end of this i think probably that's about it incident between jim clark and nineteen which is the gabriella yolkova mercedes being looked out by the officials the other zaxby mercedes here has a 11 10 advantage so charlie is trying to fight back as best he can but it's a tall order against a very competitive car that's got a lot of nurburgring data number 17 drops down the hill the opera so that chevrolet camaro it runs fourth it is closing on team mcdonald has definitely closed half a second is the margin and there's just about time to make a move if there is a gap if an opportunity presents it'll be a proper bit before position [Music] so there through is only a second season of gt4 racing up against dean mcdonald who's been another gt4 gun for a couple of years now the scottish driver who came out of karting and himself back not only a pole here but also at monza going back to start of the season [Music] so the leaders over the line they've got traffic ahead of them as well so two more laps they will be on the clock through their turn flash of the lights from new eight to say i'm coming he's got over a second in hands from charlie but with that markers around that could all soon dissipate couldn't it so they turned their way now once again up through the arena as they do so they're with that marker henry henry pedersen gets out of the way he lets the brick cars go just up the road further number three toyota which was delayed early on in the race that car has fall back as best it can and drive beneath the wheel of it right now there is mcdonald then still third but the lead gap possibly down to the eye then mcdonald careful in the traffic as he gets past henrik pedersen now so they make the run down towards turn eight pressing on all the time charlie trying to have one last shot at this but the only real reason it seems that that car isn't in the lead was just a fraction of a second lost in traffic on charlie outlet when the mercedes had clear road and was able to go absolutely flat out and that probably tipped the balance didn't it so nua leads the way this for third and fourth rapport still chasing after dean mcdonald [Music] slippery surface flag there the chicane and greg feissel going ahead of eric henry getting it all wrong and spins into the pit lane so too much speed into the chicane he got the move down but then lost not only the move the place you gain but about three more besides so one up three back for the audi there are the leaders and as mcdonald fades away now charlie fang is going to have one last chance they're about to start the last lap of the race then as they come now up to the right-hander of turn 17 towards the timing line they come in andrea benezet's toyota is just up the road ahead so last lap through they go and the margin has come down to half a second so charlie is having one last go darts to the inside line to try to unsettle to a but charlie has got to attack everywhere here out of the arena they will come in a moment this is turn two this long looping left and the mclaren gets closer and closer and closer still there hangs on [Music] on the run here down to turns four and five now is there an opportunity for charlie to be able to pounce down at the bottom of the hill again that mercedes team new just having to work the car a little bit harder he knows there's a mclaren looming large in the mirrors he's under huge pressure he's coated with it well there's the occasional slip but it's never amounted to enough to give charlie fang a chance so zack speed versus united auto sports mercedes versus mclaren again noah's deep into the corner that gives fang a chance he breaks late but he kind of washes out on the other side of the corner doesn't it that's where the mercedes gets planted sooner drags itself up the hill that big front engine grunt and go mercedes and then it's at the next part of the circuit where the arrow will help the mclaren but it's too late teo nue is just about far enough ahead now to cement the race win as the cards count yet again into the ravenel curve then the bilstein curve and a race win beckons doesn't it for t o newey and for marshallowski who started that car charlie is almost there is he going to throw everything at it of course with stefan lambert antoine potty not even finishing not scoring this is very very good news for them for the championship they don't want to blow 18 points and it could also be that with number 13 being a guest it ain't going to score anyway so although there's pride at stake it doesn't matter for points come what they bashalowski then up the curb comes now through not martial forgive me newey comes now out of 10 17 checker flag he's at the ready and it's going to be a race win for the zach speed mercedes then young marshallowski and teo nue take the win from charlie fagg and baby boys and look at that for third in the background nose to tail over the line dean mcdonald and guest bowels just hang on with the opera ponch and tyman naboo is behind so a very very close finish for third place coming home for fifth will be the bmw becky besseller [Music] [Music] through they turn back at bessel's bmw there in the background he's going to be not fifth not six he's dropped back on the last lap to seven so benjamin larice and robert konstani take fifth in the audi tom cannon gets sick through ruben del sar and the bmw falls back to seventh there's the pro am winning greg gilbert fabian michelle audi from clement zeiler and rooney house and then luke if any f brings xavier says mercedes home to round out the top 10. now we need a winning arm don't be 69 out he was ahead starting for that michelle launcher there is the audi still clear in class comes up towards the [Music] line and the checkered flag is awaiting so it's a win for christoph ammo and michelle blocher matt despite damage early on despite a spin the audi comes home ahead with second of the ams being patrick zamperini and anthony hodgson best result of the year and third paul ty's guns and pascal bachmann in the aston martin but well done to teo nue and jan marzolowski winners outright winners of the silver cup but for charlie fagg and bailey boys in a good hall of points there especially so with the demise of number eight the potty lamerae toyota early on in the race [Music] [Music] so the drivers coming to the end of the inland going offline to get the pickup to help with the ride height to help with the weight of the cars let's have a look at the results of that race then there are one or two investigations still going on but uh a win for teo nue and with that car confirmed as not scoring points it is effectively a win for the united auto support mclaren drivers they do score points despite coming home second they will take maximum points because they are behind a non-registered car but zack speed then win on the road from ua second and third first and second for points ahead of the v8 racing chevrolet camaro in fourth place young marsh golowski and tayo nueve the winners from bayley boyzen and charlie thad gus bowers and dean mcdonald for the podium as well now and reports take fourth last lap drama put consonant reach fifth delsart and canning sixth and down to seventh dropped becky bessler with chambal at bowsey fabian michelle and greg gilbert win pro am second in pro am hassan tansu and jagish gedik in the bmw winning am christophe ammo and michelle blosham further down the order and some great battles some hard luck stories as well not more so than for antoine potty and stefan lemare whose toyota faded away stopped on track got as far as the pit lane and was never seen again so that is a car that will need quite a lot of work overnight ready for race two tomorrow which is going to start of course from a totally separate grid qualifying not race results from today there you can see the list of retirements and quite a few teams with some midnight oil 2b burns [Music] so the winning drivers if the three classes make their way into the park fair may area [Applause] are very happy to ready to congratulate him they will in a few moments make their way to the podium but hopefully we'll be able to hear a word or two in advance of that so tj back in the championship reminding people just how good he is somewhat frustrated charlie as he takes off his balaclava tried everything but just could not find a way to unsettle that mercedes had it not been for the traffic on his outlet could have been a different story he could have been the one having to defend everything down slowly and with a certain amount of resignation there [Music] so charlie forces a smile but uh very disappointed understandably so let's hear from the winners though because tayo newey and young marshallowski don't score points but they do score a win clearly and quite rightly delighted with that win the pressure was on though tayo for that first part of your stint yeah at the beginning the microphone was really fast then i pushed one lap to make the gap and manage at the end go is amazing the team did an amazing job is it's good to be back in europe absolutely and could work himself as well yeah it was first part was also not easy was a lot of dirt on the track always but i tried to keep the tires as good as possible for him so that he can yeah has the pace to win the race and also although the mclarens were so fast i'm so happy that we managed to win it must have been fairly nail-biting for you at the end there as well yeah so it's always worse when you're out of the car and when you're in the car well delighted smiles on your faces well done thank you very much well down to the mercedes drivers then taking the uh top step of the podium which they will hopefully head to shortly thank you charlie and bailey have always been taking second spot let's have a look then at how that affects things going into tomorrow's race because in the silver cap the advantage hugely extended now for charlie and bailey voicing with uh antoine potty and stefan lemare not scoring as a result of the mechanical dramas for the toyota let's hear from the second place drivers then the frustrated charlie along with bayley voicing laney charlie not quite the result you were working for but but you started off there absolutely brilliantly yeah it was a great opening few laps to be honest um it was great that we could start on pole after qualifying this morning but um yeah a great few laps uh managed to pull a bit of a gap to first of all the mclaren of dean gus but then also to the mercedes um so that was great and then we boxed and uh passed over to charlie who who himself did a great job it was just a shame that um they managed to get the better of us today but some brilliant points for the championship and we're really chuffed well you certainly we're putting on a huge amount of pressure charlie yeah it's tough um a bit gutted you know with this second and barely did a mega job uh just on the outlet we got quite a bit of traffic which hurt us and that was the that was the main reason we lost that today but fair play they they did a brilliant job in the in the lead and uh as much as i tried i couldn't quite get by but great championship points so keep moving on well the fight's still on exactly cheers so hopefully they'll follow the train of drivers up to the podium now and uh get things underway the final action on track of the day here at the nurburgring in pro and fabian michelle and greg gilbert way clear they keep racking up the win so it's no surprise they're dominating the championship ahead of luca bosco then max bus nelly and ivan jacoma with jim pla and jean-luc bobolique next in the standings maxine soulet is fifth after only a part season but he's ahead of stefan garrow and antoine leclair who come next so the second race for the gt4 european series tomorrow and we'll deliver plenty of drama because it'll be the drivers that finished today starting tomorrow so different drivers to take that starting stint in the am cup uh michael blanchard and christopher ammar now clear of andre benezei and uh wilfried casaubon after a bit of a difficult race for them today match trasoli and paolo maloney third from nico gomer and eric hair uh porsche mon ricci next ahead of his father who missed one race at sparkle ties guns and pascal batman seventh from chembalabaozi marcus lungstrasse and then henrik pederson his co-driver come next so the gt4 european series again boasting big grids good racing and uh that was i think one of the few races this year we've got through without any full course yellow or yellow flag dramas or safety cars it was a good clean race around this five kilometer circuit and an excellent drive by teo nue and by jan marzolowski to take that race win two more races of course to round out the season after this weekend one more double header but one more race to look forward to here at the nurburgring so the glorious weather that we've enjoyed all day continues let's have a look at the highlights as the drivers go to the podium it all began with that pole position mclaren in the hands of bayley boise grabbing the advantage although dean mcdonald didn't come up to make life hard at the first corner couldn't quite find a way through not for want of trying though as the cars then accelerated their way around that opening lap of the race dropping down the hill the leading car charging its way up through turn eight and at the end of the lap we had a bit of hip shoulder which did for jean-luc dario the mercedes being turned around he got going but with the damage didn't go very much further it's a punctured tyre but he couldn't really do five kilometers like that and he ended up parking the car bad bad views every state made by dean mcdonald allowed yamashinowski through the second and then he chipped away and got onto the tail of charlie thank you stefan sorry baby boys in the tail i should say stefan lemare ended up with a retirement the toyota grinding to a halt on the side of the circuit drama for christopher who was tapped into a spin good lead in the amp category early doors to the 18 aston of hedrick longstrasse and then contact did for wilfried casabol he was turned around at the last corner fell off the road but was quickly able to get himself back and moving again so bailey voices carl stayed out for a lap longer than the sister car dean macdonald coming in to replace gas bowers at the wheeler number 32 and jim clark with his elbows out at the inside of henry peterson forced him out wide as into the lead of the race went to a just jumping ahead on the pit stops charlie fang tried his hardest round the outside but went deep into the corner ran out of road and had to slot back in behind as cleveland xylo ran out of circuit altogether coming out of the chicane and just got himself gathered up in time so new versus was the story of the final 25 minutes of the race effectively as those two cars ran together but charlie just could not find a way through didn't matter whether they came across traffic or not it was always that mercedes that looked the stronger and hung on to take the race win first time out in the championship and a maiden win for young mark marshallowski and tayo newey charlie fagg and uh bailey voice and taking second but taking maximum points the mercedes drivers not registered so out onto the podium come the silver cap drivers and also the top three overall so gus bowers and dean mcdonald take third place for second spot it will be bailey boise and charlie now the race winners for the home team of zack speed will be yan marshallowski and tayo newey the mercedes drivers come for the top step of the podium here in race one in the gt4 european series at the nurburgring [Music] zach's been represented on the podium as well at the end of a great race win [Music] [Music] well down to to and to yan marshallowski the german national anthem plays for the winning team drivers now get together hats on photographs to be taken trophies in hand and a big round of applause from those in the pit lane so congratulations then to the silver cap drivers they're now getting the champagne to spray as well at the end of race one and hopefully spare overall is provided ready for tomorrow as well [Music] so silver cap drivers celebrate on the podium at the end of the opening race of the weekend for the gt4 european series they will make their way back to the teams go and discuss what they can do for tomorrow [Music] so the silver cap drivers leave next we should turn to pro am where out will come for third place number 34 sounds like mercedes combination of luca bosca maxime sulei for second place will be hassan tansu and yagish gedik and yet another win and provisionally a championship as well we reckon this gives them the program title fabian michelle and greg gilbert for the santelok audi team and santelok will be on the podium as well to take on us improv [Music] so well down to the pro-am teams and congratulations to fabian michelle and greg gill there for what's that sixth win and the championship as well they all get together for photographs and are they going to be generous to one another to keep the champagne are they gonna spray they are going to [Music] head from the podium and that means that we have the uh am podium to conclude the ceremony here at the end of race one the drivers for that already in the podium room third of the ams being paul tysons and pascal bachmann in the number 33 again from the svc sport management squad of uh patrick zamperini and anthony hudson so patrick zamperini brought in this morning but getting a class podium and the category winners christoph ammo and michelle launcher man scoring honours in the amp competition in the audi run by the team 4
