Quest 2 vs Quest 3 - DONT MAKE THIS MISTAKE

all right so it's Christmas time it's the holidays everybody's getting a Quest 2 and a quest three so the real question is which one should you buy or the realest question is which one should you have bought so first let's talk about the performance of the two headsets I have the quest two and the quest 3 the quest 3 is a lot faster than the quest two in terms of performance with this brand new chip obviously it's a much newer headset so of course it's can to have better performance that means with this faster chip you can swing around faster than gorilla tag or you can play asgard's wrath 2 which is an amazing game by the way pre-ordered the headset it came for free and by the way in every section I will give a point to either the quest two the quest three and at the end one of the headsets will be the winner and I'll tell you which one is the one you should buy because of the new chip on the headset they are making new games like like Attack on Titan which has been delayed and stranger things asgard's wrath 2 definitely will perform better on the quest 3 than it will on the Quest 2 it still lags on the quest 3 as well and now in terms of the points the quest 3 earns a point in the performance section next we have the display now the quest three and two obviously have two different different displays if you hold them side by side you can see the quest 3 has a much thinner display using the new pancake or what I like to call the Waffle lenses in The Quest 2 uses the old long gated I don't know I forgot what it was called but clearly it's this one is a lot better this one's a lot sharper you can see things so much clearer and it has a wider area on the lens where it's going to be sharp rather than here it's just just one little spot where it's going to be clear and yes the difference is huge which puts this headset and makes it a lot more future prooof in the display section the quest three gets the point now this comes to our next point the build quality now these two headsets are made of literally the exact same material it literally looks like they just got the same thing and just remeshed it obviously the Quest 2 is going to be a little bit longer because the older uh design of the front of the head is going to be longer but besides that it comes with default strap I have a kiwi strap on it right now feel about the same plastic everywhere head strap sucks okay get yourself one of these this is the best thing ever I'm still using a default strap on the quest 3 because I'm not trying to pay 50 bucks for a brand new head strap if they went for any other material the headset would have just been too heavy it's heavy enough as it is they're about the same weights Point goes to both of them because they have the same build quality now let's talk about the sound now the sound on these two SSS are literally exactly the same they both have this speaker right here Quest 3 has this the speaker right there and the quest two you can also see the same speaker they literally sound exactly the same people say there's a difference there's no difference to me I might have noticed it at first but I've gotten used to it you can have bluetooth headphones but I heard it sucks but I never tried it because I was usually a headphone jack type of guy by the way they both have head headphone Jacks which is ancient technology where you can plug in your headphones directly into your device both headsets earn a point for the exact same audio setup now it's time to talk about the controllers so the Quest 2 has these older ring controllers they were fine to begin with to be honest they were really big when you wanted to reload they would just Clash right I've hit them together several times like Beyblades besides that it's all right it's comfortable it's made out of plastic and then the quest 3 has these new has these new ringless controllers they look like The Meta Quest pro control and these are so much better better compared to these I mean these look sleeker they're smaller this is just overall it's it's better so the quest three gets another Point here now let's talk about the battery now let's talk about the Quest 2 the quest 2's battery on average lasts about 2 hours and it does exactly that it doesn't it it'll go under just a little bit it will usually not go over and if you really want to you can get a battery pack I don't usually get a battery pack because I don't know I already have a head strap I didn't need one and it's not like I played for more than 2 hours at a time anyways like I would get tired by hour after like the first hour the quest three is a problem the battery last way lot like way less because of the mixed reality and these nice new cameras that they have it's it's horrible I'm talking about but in game just purely it's it's about the same as the Quest 2 but with mixed reality you're going to get a lot less time the Quest 2 could do mixed reality but the cameras are absolute doooo the cameras on here are really nice and has a depth sensor which which means that it's going to eat up a lot more battery unfortunately and let me just dust this little thing off if you go on Reddit you can see a lot of people complaining about the battery life on this headset even on the Quest 2 as well but this thing in mixed reality you're getting about an hour this is the biggest point and I need you to hold on I need you to listen carefully the price on these headsets this is the main important selling point the quest three goes for $500 minimum minimum minimum this thing is so expensive instead of this thing you can get a PS5 I found an Xbox series X for $350 this thing is $500 but to be honest you got to understand that this comes with a lot of games both this and the quest to they come with so many games so you have to realize that I think this is worth the $500 but it is $500 now the quest two on the other hand is an amazing headset has the exact listen to me the exact same games and it goes for 250 maximum okay you can find this thing for even cheaper some other people are selling it but this headset is amazing it's cheap it's affordable it does everything the quest 3 does except for mixed reality but even it the quest 3 still doesn't do all the mix reality features I was promised it doesn't have the augments it doesn't have the trophies that I want it doesn't have nothing so in terms of price The Quest 2 absolutely destroys the quest 3 this thing is much better value in price oh my goodness you don't understand the Quest 2 earns two points for this section cuz this is the most important section when it comes to evaluating any of these headsets so at this point in the [Music] video I just dropped my quest oh was broken that was done at this point in the video the quest two and the quest three are tied together at Five Points and now we need a tiebreaker section so at this point we're going to talk about the features and if it's future proof now so the Quest 2 and the quest 3 both have cameras on the outside this one has four this one has one it looks like about six cameras to me on this one four cameras on this one which is perfectly fine it's made for the tracking they both track great this one tracks better but this is where it different sh I'm going to put the quest two down this one is done Quest two has black and white cameras pass through but the quest 3 has colored pass through which is really nice it's not perfect doesn't almost look like real life it's still warpy and a little bit grainy it's not that nice but it's still much better than that pretty good the quest 3 also has a depth sensor which is made for in simple terms just spatial tracking helps with the tracking that's why the quest 3 can automatically scan your room the floors the walls the ceilings and just automatically give you a guardian and the quest two can't do that cuz it doesn't have a depth sensor and then the quest three is not done yet okay although we were promised full by body tracking and augments it hasn't come out but it will come out this thing has predictive leg tracking and it's going to be able to track your elbows and your arms sooner than later and I'm just super excited about that feature The Quest 2 couldn't do that in a million years it's going to make this super nice you don't have to have the annoying base station the quest 3 has also promised to give us ambient occlusion which means that in mixed reality when you have a menu if you put your hand in front of the menu you'll be able to see it but usually when you put your hand in front of you the menu will be on top of it if you get what I'm saying I have I'll probably have a video playing up right now of what that looks like this is going to make mixed reality really mixed and just change the game of the headset like this thing is future proof for at least a few years man The Quest 2 will never get any of these features and the quest 3 will continue to be updated from now till the quest 4 so now which one should you buy it's really simple if you have the cash you want to keep this for a while get the quest three if you don't have the cash and you want to save still don't get the quest two there is another headset that you must buy that is going to be better than the Quest 2 and if you want to learn about that it's going to be in my next video
