[Music] Hello everybody welcome back to the channel today I'm going to attempt to install Red Dead Redemption 2 onto my steam deck yesterday I put up a poll and over 300 of you have voted and 51 so over 150 people have voted for Red Dead Redemption 2 which is a good choice because the cracked version of Red Dead Redemption 2 is not easy to get running on the steam deck so I'm expecting for those that voted for Red Dead Redemption 2 over 150 of you to like this video so that's 150 likes for this video already and for those that didn't vote for Red Dead Redemption 2 I'm expecting a like from you too because as you can see I've already created the thumbnails for the other game so those games that you voted for I'm gonna do them eventually so the more likes I get on this video the faster the videos come out so thanks for that and this video is going to be a longer one because um other than just installing the correct version of Red Dead Redemption 2 on my steam deck I'm going to attempt to install the trainer people are asking for mods and trainers cheats on the steam deck so I'm gonna attempt to install that as well and also I'm going to give you the best settings that I've tried for Red Dead Redemption 2 on the steam pack so this video would be like a three in one so it's going to be longer so sit back and relax and without further Ado let's just get started okay so first thing you need to do is to download the installation files for the game of course and I could have gone the easy route and gotten the Linux rules repack that's the easiest one to install on the steam deck but I'm assuming that most people don't have that or can't find that so if you can't find that get the Dodie one that's the second best if you can't get the Dodie one and you got the fit girl one that's the worst one you could get but I'm assuming it's the easiest and most people have this they've probably downloaded this on their PC and played it on their PC before so I'm gonna go with the fit girl one just trying to help the most people possible with this video so okay open the install do the setup and install it onto your PC but like this so here double check the file so this Red Dead Redemption 2 is the cracked by empress and Mr Goldberg so yeah this is the repack uh yes and I'm not going to create the start menu I'm going to create the desktop icon and I'm not going to install the dependencies on my PC because I already have them but if you don't have them you can install them on the PC and just start and this takes a long time I'm gonna fast I'm gonna cut it actually I'm not going to fast forward it's going to take a long time for me to record this footage it took me over three hours so I'm not going to record this so I'm just going to cut it and I'll see you once I've finished installing the game okay so I've installed the game onto my PC and I transferred it to my steam deck the whole game folder so you can see that I've got in my downloads downloads wapinator and then I've got Red Dead Redemption 2. and this is the installed okay the game folder and normally I'll just run it I'll like go to my um Steam and then Library add a game add a non-steam game browse and then select the exe so rdr2 exe and selected program and then go into its properties on the left hand side change the compatibility to proton experimental and Run the game well this one doesn't just work like that and I also try to change the compatibility to proton GE see if that works and it doesn't work so that's why I'm saying fit girl is not the best option because it does just work the 31 does so if you have to fit go one it doesn't work but there's there's a fix don't worry so and then I try to use the the latest Photon the proton 8. and it also didn't work so no luck no luck here just showing you that it doesn't work this way don't waste your time doing it because it does take some time to transfer the game folder to your steam deck it's over 100 gigabytes so now I'm going to open lutras I'm going to open uterus and I'm going to try to run it with lutras so go to the plus button on the top left add a locally installed game I'm just going to call it rdr2 and then select the runner wine run Windows games executable I'm going to select the rdr2.exe and then the prefix I've created a prefix directory in my documents prefixes and then I'll create a direction called rdr2 and then I'm going to leave the Run options but on the lutrix default save I'm going to try to run it all right we get something it goes into the boot screen all right the bullets it's good so so everything looks good now and then we get this loading screen the revolver and it it's just Loops here it Loops uh so you if you're doing it if you did this which I don't recommend but you should be getting this it just Loops forever and it doesn't work so we need to do a workaround and I'm going to show you the workaround right now so going back to your PC you need to download uh something called rdr2 all-in-one updater it's by Dodie and it's a five gigabyte file so download this and you can just run the setup and install it over your current Red Dead Redemption 2 folder and it updates the whole folder it works with the fit girl one so that's very good you don't have to re-download the whole game and you don't have to install the whole game I think this update took me around seven minutes to install so I'm going to install it and then I'm going to transfer the whole game folder again to my steam deck and I'm not going to show that because it's going to take too long the the transfer text takes a while so I'll see you once I've updated the Red Dead Redemption 2 with this all in one updater and once I've transferred the whole game folder back to my steam deck okay so I'm back on my desktop mode on my steam deck and I've already transferred the Red Dead Redemption 2 game folder so I've installed the fit girl version on my PC and that didn't work so and then I installed the Dodie the all-in-one updater on my PC I updated the PC version and then I transferred the whole game folder to my steam deck so here it is and you can't just add a non-steam game on your steam we're going to use lutras so if you don't have lutras you've got to download it go to the Discover Store and download lutress I have videos on that if you don't know how to do it okay so all right this is the test I've already done it before so let me just remove it I made so it worked before doing the video so okay so what we need to do go to this plus button add game on the top left and then I'm going to add locally installed game then I'm close I'm going to call it Audio Two and then unrunner I'm going to select wine run Windows games and then game option I'm gonna browse for the executable so it's in my downloads open later Red Dead Redemption 2 and I'm going to look for the exe file it's called rdr2.exe I'm going to run this exe and then I'm going to set the wine prefix I'm going to set a directory so you can put this anywhere I normally put it in documents and then prefixes I've got a directory called prefixes I created myself and then I'm going to create a new directory called rdr2 and this is going to be by prefix folder for this game so where did it go okay it's here so I'm going to set the Y and prefix directory I'm gonna go to documents prefixes and rdr2 this is the directory I said you can set it to wherever you want um just make sure you remember where it is okay and that's basically it so the wine version I'm going to use the default so it's a lootress 7.2 hyphen 2 hyphen x86 underscore 64. this is the one I'm using all right so save and let's run it let's run it see if it works so now it's creating the prefix directories in the prefix folder that I defined is so this populating that so if you can see it here see now it has I just created this folder and it's populating it with the prefix directories that it needs since it's still running so let's see if it runs okay we're in we got sound good okay so we got past that uh that bullet loading so that's good subtitles on audio TV all right so I'm going to go to settings if I can I cut off the controller so I'm going to use the keyboard for now and then in graphics go to graphics and look if I run the benchmark test now I think it it would hang will crash so make sure you go here and set the adapter the output adapter to zero if you don't you can't load into the game it will drop to one frame per second and it'll load forever so once you change that it just it just uh quits out of it that's normal so we know it works so now what we do we've got to create a steam shortcut so I'm going to press create a steam shortcut and I'm going to run it in game mode so I know it works all right so let's go to game mode okay so we're in game mode right now and you can see that this is the my official one from Steve so I've played 151 hours of it this is not the one that we're gonna do this is the one the non-steam one so let's run this so yeah make sure uh you go into the settings and you change that output from one to zero if you don't it doesn't work uh I'll show you it hangs at one spot it just drops to one frame per second and then it just can't load so that's a trick remember it's important every step is important all right so see the settings here and then graphics so yeah this output adapter make sure it's on zero all right we're not going to mess with the settings right now I'll do it later but uh yeah so okay I can show you here see run benchmark test I'll run the benchmark test if you didn't set the output to zero this loading screen your frames will drop to one frames per second I will do load forever just Loop and loop and loop and if you have that problem uh go to the settings and change that output to from one to zero all right so I've emphasized it enough I think I think you guys know what I'm talking about let's see if it runs I think we're almost there it wasn't too hard so remember for all you guys that voted for Red Dead Redemption 2 make sure you like this video give me a thumbs up all right you can see it's working so we're basically loaded into the game uh game works all right so the next thing I'm gonna do is install the trainer okay so let's go back into desktop mode and I'll see you there okay so once the game has finished installing let's install the trainer if you don't know what a trainer is I basically just call it a cheat it just helps you cheat in the game so go open your browser in your steam deck desktop mode I'll leave a link in the description uh we it will take you to Nexus mods and inside we're in Red Dead Redemption 2 and if you're not using my link once you've read that Redemption 2 go to mods most endorsed and it's the first one it's the most popular mod so go inside Rampage trainer go into the files and then under download Rampage in UI so this is the native game menu one I'm not using the first one I'm using the native game menu one so manual download and it'll tell you that it needs this it needs the script hook so click on it it'll open to another page you need to download this as well so download scriptbook so I'm going to download that okay that's done and then back on Nexus mods click download and then slow download and just wait for it okay so I've downloaded them both so I go back into my file Explorer and then I'm going to open my downloads tab so these downloads all right so I should have two files okay scruple okay I've got to open the zip there's a bin folder inside it and there's only two files I need I need the dlls so script hook rdr2.dll and D input8.dll these are two files I need go into your game folder mine's at downloads of warp and data Red Dead Redemption 2. the game folder is where your exe is located so I'm going to drag those two files those dlls to my game folder I already have them there because I've tested it out already so I'm just going to override it you shouldn't need to overwrite if it's your first time okay and then Rampage n UI I'm going to open the zip and then there's a rampage files folder inside and then there's a rampage annual.asi these are the files you need there's also a read beat.x I'm just going to transfer it over as well so also go back to your game folder where your exe is then I'm going to drag these files and then I'm going to override it okay so it doesn't work just like this on desktop so if you're on PC it might just work so I can show you so if I run it so if I run the game on ludus I'll run the game I don't think it works if it works when you load into the game you'll be greeted with a welcome message and then you can yeah if you're on Gamepad you press the RB and a button and it just loads the launcher it has a has a menu where you could cheat basically you could mod stuff I don't think it works now all right so let's just go into story let's load it and see if it works I don't think so we have to do something so I'm just showing you on the PC if you just drag those files into the game directory and then boot the game it should work it's much easier on the PC okay so we're getting into the game soon yeah we don't have the yeah we don't have the [Music] okay yeah not working so I'm gonna quit out of it so let's see if I can I think I'm gonna press F4 alternate F4 yeah that's the best way okay so what you need to do so back on lootress so the game is highlighted and go here this is where the wine configurations are so click this and then go to Wine configuration okay and then go to the libraries tab and then there's a new override for Library pull down and then find the input 8. okay this D input 8 and then add and then apply okay that should do the trick so let's run the game again and see if we get that welcome page for the mod all right foreign mode let's boot the game it should work hope so if it doesn't have to re-record that sucks oh yeah see see I've got this welcome page so thank you for using Rampage yeah so yeah you press a if you wanna you can see it's uh to toggle the option you press RB plus a okay so a I'm going to press a and these are terms of service so make sure you read this and you agree all right and now I can toggle it on I think my my screen's going everywhere I think it's because of my buttons the buttons I'm pressing Maybe it's actually recognizing my keyboard maybe someone desktop mode yeah yeah let's just skip all this yeah so this is the this is the key the trainer so you can see you could you know you can spawn stuff you can you can do yeah all kinds of stuff wardrobe yeah you've got all this kind of stuff so I'm not going to go into detail on what you do you'll probably look that up online because there's so much I think you can spawn animals and you know you can you can go unlimited health and all your abilities unlock your abilities and all that stuff so I'm not gonna go into detail with that so let's go back into game mode and I'm gonna show you the best settings so I'll see you back in game mode you know okay so I'm in the game mode uh and I've put it into the game just to save a bit of time so press the three dots and in the performance tab uh app connected to a capture card so uh you can't see it but uh enable the use per game profile and then set your your frame rate limit to 30 and uh frequency to 60 hertz I can't show you here but yeah that's what you should do I'm going for the best looking graphics and add a stable 30 frames because this game is just so pretty like I don't think you should drop the graphics for frame rate I think 30 is okay uh you don't really because you can only probably go to 40 something and but you have to drop the graphics and I don't think it's worth it so okay so in inside the settings graphics texture quality I'm going for Ultra and then any so Tropic filtering I think I said that right go to X8 um lightning quality High Global illumination quality High Shadow quality High Shadow quality medium screen space ambient occlusion I reflection quality medium mirror quality medium water quality medium volume metrics quality High particle quality I tessellation quality medium TAA high and then FXAA off MSA off and then I'm going to leave the advanced Graphics Lots so apply changes okay then back and let's see the inaction I don't take credit for this for this uh settings I'm actually using quarter bright 33 so he's the creator of crow utilities I have query utilities installed and it's on recommended settings and my vram is on one gigabyte so I didn't mess with the vram so it's on one gigabyte for this game he says it's better on one gigabyte and then uh this is the prettiest setting he's given so I don't take credit for the settings I'll probably link his video for best settings because he has others he has like uh best for performance and all that if you want something like that to mess around with I'll maybe I'll link his video so yeah let's check it out in action I prefer this game to be better graphics because the PS4 Pro uh running this game is only at 30 frames too so yeah it's just the console uh uh console quality and we're using the best graphics we can get so yeah because this game is really pretty like I don't think you wanna you wanna lower the graphics okay chapter one all right see we're at uh 28 29 but the graphics are so good let me see if I can toggle the yeah I can still toggle on the cheats so these are the cheats and puzzle design all right the start part is pretty hard because yeah there's a lot of snow but yeah we're getting at you know 28 to 30 frames pretty good let's see if we can go further in let's play a bit of this game uh I think when you're playing this game uh you'll eventually buy the game because once you've completed this the campaign the single player uh you won't get enough of it you you want to play more and then you'd go and play Red Dead online that's what I did uh just wait for the game to go on sale it goes on sale so it's like around I don't know 15 bucks so Black Friday is coming so yeah you just wait for it play the single player first and then if you want more of the game buy the buyer and you can play Red Dead online I think about that online is pretty cool like it's not as good as GTA online you don't get all those updates and all that but yeah it's got pretty a lot of content uh a little a little bit grindy but uh yeah it's fun so yeah so these are yeah these are the settings I'll leave the settings in the description so you can also follow from there and yeah I guess I'll just leave it here the video has been dragging on a bit because we've went through a lot we went through installing the game and then installing
