pickled eggs i've never made them we're gonna do it super simple because i just want to do it simply and shelf stable too so i've researched and researched recipes i think i'm gonna be able to pull this one off without them going bad let's get into it and let's make some pickled eggs together okay so i just want to talk about some safety precautions if you're wanting to keep shelf-stable pickled eggs things i'm going to do and i'm going to do them off camera because there's no point in showing you wash my hands really well run them through some vinegar i have sterilized my jar this was hot hot boiling water boiled it for five minutes super sterilized jar and do not use your hands i will be using tongs to transfer the eggs minimizing all risk of contamination so just want to talk about that before we get back to the simplicity actually of this recipe all right so we're going to start with about two big tablespoons of pickling spice and then i am going to add a nice tablespoon of sea salt and then we are going to add our eggs that have been hard boiled i have i don't know a little shy of two dozen because i broke one when i was shelling it and i will tell you today was the first time ever i used my insta pot for boiled eggs game changer these would look terrible if i had done it the traditional way on the stove putt and they just the shelves came right off it was so nice [Music] all right that's two dozen pickled eggs perfectly fitting in the jar now i'm gonna fill this up with a hundred percent vinegar and then we're gonna add a touch of sugar to it and that's going to be it and then where i'm going to put a pickle pebble on top i need to get all the bubbles out and i'm going to set it in our pantry so hold on let me go grab my pickle pebble and i'll be right back so i decided i want to add a little red pepper flake to it before we lock it up pickle pebble goes on top just to hold those eggs down i better do this over i can you want kind of like a a decent enough air space [Music] try to save some of those spices [Applause] [Music] all right that's pretty good and now i'm going to seal this up not super tightly but i will seal it up and put it in my pantry and we'll check on them come back in like three weeks and we're gonna taste them together and i know i said don't use your hands and here i am using my hands but i think it's gonna be okay it's all vinegar sterilized equipment i think we're gonna be good see you back in three weeks to try some good old-fashioned pub style pickled eggs
