foreign [Music] hey guys welcome back so today we want to talk about the new saber 10 from Palmetto State Armory this is one of the rifles in that line of rifles and this one is configured to look more or less like an m110 clone the SAS rifle that the US military adopted during the global war on terror now this rifle is chambered at 6'5 Creedmoor that would be a correct cartridge for this gun most of them would have been chambered in 308 but they did make them in six five Creedmoor they being the m110s but so when these became available I got right on the website I saw the 308s pop first I held off because I knew that the six fires were coming when the six fives popped that's when I ordered the gun so the rifle itself if you look at it it looks so close to an m110 that when Jason walked in to film that day and it was sitting on the floor all configured he thought I had an m110 he's like what bank did you rob dude and then he realized it was the new saber 10 that I've been talking about and so yes this is a rifle that comes to market right around fourteen hundred dollars just a basic Knights Armament sr-25 will cost you right around seven Grand the deployment package of this rifle looking at the Knights website has a retail value of Thirteen thousand dollars so yeah if you're looking for an m110 to shoot and have some fun with this might be an option for you we'll talk about the accuracy because really that's what this gun is all about and that's what this video today is going to be about it's kind of a first shots video we have been shooting this gun for several days now we've shot it a lot we've put probably well over 300 rounds through it with match ammunition just to get the barrel settled in to see what types of groups it's going to shoot and that's what we want to report back to you today on and we'll do a quick breakdown of the gun and talk about it and look at it up close if I really want to talk about the accuracy because that's what everybody's thinking about that's what I was thinking about when they came on the market I wanted to figure out if it was going to be a viable alternative to an sr-25 I think you're going to be interested with the results so stick around let's get started with today's video taking a look at the new saber 10. that is 866-406-1988 or text military to 65532 so please swing by and check out American Hartford gold I will put a link in the video description below so let's take a look at some of the features again we'll kind of start off back here and work our way forward back here we have a generic stock this is an A1 profile stock it does not have the adjustable length to pull like the rifle that uh you know it clones the m110 I've got online tried to find the Clone stock they were made at one time they're impossible to find right now if I ever find one I'll let you know another option is the Gen 2 PRS stock Magpul you will see soldiers out there with the Gen 2 PRS stocks on the guns so that's another option if you're looking for an adjustable length to pull for your saber 10. coming up here we have a radian charging handle this is their Raptor LT it has the release on either side the PRI gas Buster is available currently out there I do have one on order from PA from primary arms that should be here I'm going to throw in there it's going to give you kind of the profile of the knights charging handle on the original m110 can you tell I'm trying to piece this thing together coming forward we have a Billet receiver 7075 aluminum we have an ejection Port buffer right here now the profile on on the controls and on this buffer going to be a little bit different than the m110 matter of fact a lot of things are going to be a little bit different because it's painted Flat Dark Earth has the markings here on the mag well it looks really really close I mean you would think it was an m110 if you first saw it until you got a little bit closer so this the profile stuff over here is going to be a little bit different speaking the profile here's the Ambi control so here's your non-amb this is the standard mag release right here but right up on top of that is your bolt release so if you push that the bolt will drop on the gun over here on the other side we have the standard ping pong paddle that well I lock the bolt open or drop it from this side we have Radian systems selector levers Ambi selector lever on the gun coming forward go ahead and drop this magazine out here and you can see the bolt carrier now the bolt carrier and bolt are hard chromed so they're look like they're in the white so this would be pretty close to what the m110s bolt would look like it would be a similar chrome color but it would have three vent holes this only has two so it's slightly different this also does have dual ejectors but a single extractor but it does have dual ejectors on the bolt as well coming out here we have the PSA rail system looks very close to the original m110 night rail you'll see the holes up here that wouldn't be there on the knights rail things like that but it has the overall look on it it comes with these rail covers you can get the knights rail covers that would slide on which would you know make it look a little bit more like a knight's rifle inside there you're going to see the fluting on the barrel so this Barrel is fluted it's a 20 inch barrel and it is a one in eight twist out on the end of the barrel we have a penned gas block and it's 0.750 gas block and then a port and then we have the adjustable gas regulator here and so it's uh it has clicks detents and you can feel it as you turn it make adjustments to the gas regulator it also comes with this Magpul bipod and it'll come with a soft case in three magazines and these are the magazines that it will come with now on the end there is a muzzle device that doesn't look anything like the night smuzzle device and I think I have that sitting over here we took off the gun so we could put the Griffin armament muzzle device on there this is the factory muzzle device so you're going to have Three Forks that prongs that come off they're all of unequal length and that's because it does not ring when you fire it like a Surefire like an old school Surefire missile break or something when you fire him you're dead the muzzle break resonating this won't do that and then on the end we have a griffin Armament PSR suppressor now this is an over the barrel suppressor so the muzzle is actually coming out here the original Knights can would come all the way back to the gas block and clamp onto the barrel this over the barrel doesn't come that far back but it gives me a close appearance now you'll notice the scope which obviously doesn't come on the rifle this is an m7xi from Steiner this is on their budget line these are extremely affordable optics which is why I put it on the gun and I'm completely lying to you right now this is a ridiculously expensive scope but it wasn't mounted to anything at the time and it was Flat Dark Earth so I stuck it on this rifle hoping it would shoot well so that's the next question right how well does it shoot does it warrant having this Steiner glass on it well let's talk about that next so shooting a rifle is it's really smooth once you get the rifle tuned to the ammunition that you're using in the suppressor you're going to find that The Recoil is quite manageable on the rifle so it's not wildly over gassed now follow-up shots with the 65 Creedmoor tend to be a little bit faster for me than with the 308 it has a little bit less recoil so I have a Target down at 150 yards it's just a single little eight inch plate steel plate and I'll put three shots on it here really quick for you foreign [Applause] so getting on the target staying on the target while firing is very quick and easy to do with just a little bit of practice I really like the 65 Creed more for that reason 308 still manageable not going to have a huge difference in The Recoil but there is enough to notice so let's just jump right into the accuracy of the rifle how does it shoot well first of all the trigger on the gun is a really nice trigger it has a great two-stage trigger in it and it lends itself well to match shooting it's a very light trigger pull under three pounds I'll put an actual pull weight up for you guys but it's a very very predictable trigger and even though it's really light if you guys are used to running light triggers in your AR-15 or AR-10 you may find that if they're too light they're going to bump fire off a bench and I'm not running into that I've not experienced one single bump fire and 300 plus rounds that we've been shooting the gun so far so good trigger I like the trigger in the gun which lends to the accuracy so we have some different types of ammunition we've been shooting out here and I'll just show you all of it here really quick so we have some federal 130 grain burgers and generally speaking that stuff's done really well for us in a number of different 6'5 rifles this is some 140 Seven Grain Hornady match and that it seems like the heavier bullet weights maybe the groups start to open up a little bit this is some Saco TRG 136 grain ammunition and then we had some 140 grain Federal gold medal match and then some of the hunting ammo that I use the six five which is the normal 140 grain soft points and we had an issue with that ammo and I think it's ammo related not gun related so let's take a look at the groups Right This Is The Moment of Truth all right sorry we keep her using cardboard because I keep forgetting to order new so this cardboard's a little shot up and used all right so we'll start off over here this is 140 grain Norma this is some of the hunting ammo that's the soft point ammo and so it looks like this when I say soft point I mean it has exposed lead on the point and it's soft and kind of blunted okay not what's typically associated with match performance but it's always shot really well for me which is why I keep it around and I'll throw some group sizes up for you guys but this is you know half minute under a half minute like point four something and I'm shooting three shot groups because I have limited amounts of ammunition now you guys are going to say give me a 10 shot 20 shot 50 shot thousand shot group I agree if you want to get group averages that's a great way to do it but when you're running with limited ammunition shooting a bunch of three shot groups we'll give you an idea of the gun's accuracy not a single group I fired with this gun has gone over an inch not one of them so and most often they'll even average even the five shot groups which I'll show you will average well under an inch so here we have some 140 grain Norma this is the next three shot group so I just went from here to here fired another three shots and once again it's right at a half minute now over here is where we encountered the problem so first this is 140 grain Norma the soft point stuff two rounds went here and then the third round went up here and then the gun malfunction and what we discovered was that we're busting the primers out of the Norma ammunition the normal 140 grain stuff this is the only ammo of all the ammo I fired out of the gun that's had the primers do that so we had to stop shooting it that's unfortunate because I have a bunch of the ammo around and I use it for hunting but I've not experienced that before but that's not to say that this isn't just a bad lock because I bought it at different times so we stopped shooting that stuff 130 grain Federal gold medal match is the five shot group where the knife is pointing right now the dagger is pointing to a two two rounds for the same hole under an inch five shot group with the Berger ammunition another three shot group with the burger and again half minute 147 grain Hornady so you'll see it opens up just a bit still well under an inch but there's your 147 grain Hornady and this is some of the 136 grain uh TRG from Saco and that's a really tight group I've shot some other groups with it it's about on par with some of the other stuff we've seen like the 130 grains in terms of performance consistently submitted this is like two point or point two three four something that's really tiny but generally speaking it's right around a half inch so as you can see the rifle is more than capable of precision right and every single type of match ammunition we fired out here all these flavors every single one of them was sub minute performance most of the time 99 of the time well under a minute half minute point six point five point four so the gun is absolutely capable of extreme accuracy out of a gas gun it's really impressive because typically when you're shooting AR-10s or just gas guns in general they're not going to perform as well as a bolt gun with Factory ammo about the best you can get out of factory ammunition with the most expensive bolt gun on the market is about a half inch that's about as good as it gets now then you have to go into hand loading to get those group sizes down even more to get that those Precision loads done yourself and that's the only way to get the group sizes smaller so do I think this gun could shoot even tighter groups absolutely if you found a pet load that this thing liked I think you know quarter inch groups would be the norm for this gun so it really really shoots well now when trying to decide between a 6'5 Creedmoor and a 308 here's a couple of things to consider if you want to hunt with it either cartridge is going to do just fine if you want to hunt at extended ranges the 6'5 is going to have a slight Advantage if you want to talk about recoil 6.5's got a little bit less recoil generally speaking I've had better performance out of 6 five guns in terms of accuracy but that's just that's just my experience because I know there's tons of really really accurate 308 gas guns out there and so that I don't think the gas gun in 308 is going to shoot much different the six five I don't know I don't have one but that's something to think about as well cost of ammunition for match ammo hunting ammo is going to be about the same so the 6'5 is going to give you a little bit less recoil perhaps a little bit more accuracy depending that could be the shooter and then you know the cost of ammo and stuff like that's going to be about the same so in my opinion 65 Creedmoor is the superior cartridge the only downside to 65 Creedmoor that I see is Barrel life right so if you shoot a lot of ammunition six five is going to chew its Barrel up faster than 308 will so that's another consideration if you plan on shooting quite a bit but on top of that I mean I would like to have a 308 too I just ain't gonna happen anytime soon that's why I want the six five Creedmoor and if you want to suppress them you have that adjustable gas regulator out there that's going to work really nice for really restrictive cans that have baffles in them and so you can run just about any type of silencer that you want AR-10s in my experience have been pretty fickle in terms of being suppressed We've ran into a lot of problems with AR-10s over the years and to resolve that OSS is a good option which is a flow through can or because this has an adjustable regulator on it you can probably tune the gun to whatever Canon ammunition you're using and get 100 reliability so the only problems I've had with the gun is the ammunition pop and primers and again I'm going to go with the ammo on that because it didn't do it with any of the other flavors of six five Creedmoor that we put through it so outstanding performance 1400 price tag outstanding price so the value on this gun is through the roof Palmetto State Armory is just knocking it out of the park guys with the guns that they're producing these guns are you know so affordably priced that just about anybody can afford to grab one this is certainly more affordably priced than the knights rifle but it gives you that look and yeah so I'm really impressed with it I look forward to seeing what else Palmetto State Armory comes up with we may do another video with this gun or include it in other videos it definitely will be included in other videos but as I shoot it more and I get some more accessories on it I try to build it more closely to an m110 I may do another video on it down the road to show you the progress on that and also I'll report on the accuracy because maybe in a couple hundred more rounds it might settle down even more but I don't think it's going to get much better than a half bench with Factory ammo that's pretty darn good if you guys have any questions about the saber 10 or a particular this particular saber 10. go ahead and ask those questions down below I do try to stick around answer questions for the
