Proof Clad Kennedy Half Dollar Errors & Varieties Complete Guide - Values & Clear Explanation

hello everybody christian from treasure town here and today we're going to be taking a look at kennedy clad proof half dollars and there's some errors and varieties that you can cherry pick that are going to be a lot more valuable if they're found and these are all of the ones that are recognized by the major grading companies so we're not leaving any out and we'll just go coin by coin and we'll have a clear photo with the error that i'll explain fully and then we'll also talk about the values based off of what condition how nice of a strike the proof coin has so let's go right into the presentation and start this video off and the first coin on our list today is this 1971 s it's the first double die obverse from that year and the way to look for it you can see a little bit of split serifs in the bottoms of the r the top of the u some split in the top of the s and the t here and proof 67 is a 100 coin and proof 68 cameo is about 300 a lot of these you're going to be looking in the in god or the we trust for these errors um the year after that that's still the case i mean you can see a little bit of a split in the top of the one there but you know you can see in the in god we trust bottom notch of the d in the inside of the g and especially in the top of the eye and the top serifs there in the n that's really where you're looking for the spread on this coin proof 67 similar values 125 and 200 bucks obviously any cameo or deep cameo will raise its value as well 1971 s also has a third double die obverse it's marked by more clear split serifs in the wii trust especially in the s and the t the values are quite elevated on this one 500 bucks is some price history on a proof 66 and a proof 67 cameo sold for two thousand dollars you can also see it a little bit in the top of the one that notching but some real value associated with this there's also a double die reverse and there's you know this is a pretty short video most of it is concentrated in this first 1971 date the first time they're making clad proofs but this double die reverse is kind of challenging to see you can see a little bit on the inside of the d and some small small spreads in the tips of the stars there one there one there another up here but very thin spread proof 67 is 250 dollars and proof 68 cameos 500 so there's a lot there i wish i could explain it better have better photos but that's what i've got um 1976 this one's definitely one to look for on the proof half dollar this is a bicentennial reverse and there's a little bit of doubling you can see in the e here some small spreads but the lettering is pretty thin there's also some extra thickness components but the best way to tell is in the sgh initials you can see strong spread all in those three letters that's the designer's initials like i mentioned and this is going to be worth 500 all the way up to 1500 bucks so definitely one you want to keep an eye out for and then our last coin is this 1988 s proof half dollar there's some spread i think it's notable in the t how that bottom kind of lift comes out um and and kind of extends that letter there's also some spread in the tip of the r but it's also quite a lot of an extra thickness error and this one's going to be worth 200 bucks proof 67 deep cameo almost all these are deep cameo and then proof 68 will be about 400 bucks so another one to look for only six of them on this list but still good to know that we're not missing any and that these are the ones to search for thanks for watching the video i'd encourage you to like comment and subscribe for more content and get in touch with me on my website treasuretownyt.com facebook treasure town instagram treasurestownyt or twitter at treasuretown underscore yt and i look forward to seeing you on some of my future vids
