hey everybody how's it going christian from treasure town here and today we're going to be doing a video about all of the cherry picker errors and varieties that make your coins worth a lot more money on silver proof kennedy half dollars so these are from 1964 to 1970 and they can add substantial value and there's actually a fair amount of them in that short time span so you do want to know them and the way i did it is i have photos of all the errors these are all the ones by the way that are recognized by pcgs the major grading companies and then underneath that photo that i'll explain there's going to be some values based off of what condition it's in so let's get right to the video and as you might be able to expect the 1964 half dollar is going to have a fair amount of these varieties the first being a double die obverse where like with most candy half dollars the double die obverses are often found prominently in the we trust or the in-god part but i feel like that even though we trust is more so involved and you can see clear doubling in throughout both parts of the e here and the tops of the w bottom of the t the r top of the u separation in the t uh the the rightmost t as well and this is a hundred dollars to a hundred and fifty dollars in modest proof grades so like a 67 or a 68 there's also one that is a little bit different in terms of how it presents itself but you can see it in the tips of the d and the w uh you can also see it kind of in the bottom part of the t and the r and the top of the u this one's more valuable 150 to three hundred dollars in terms of uh proof 67 68 range grades there's also a quadruple die obverse and this one's actually a little bit more challenging to tell you can see it kind of in the what could be considered the crosslit and the four as well as the bottom of the four here but then also um in the how the u kind of shows up and the tip of the t uh here's a good photo that shows kind of the different the quadrupling i guess this one's 125 dollars and proof 66 and 300 and proof 67 cameo so significant value attached um and then there's also a whole another set of errors where they had different dies for the proofs and some of them were the accented hair variety and that's what you know it looks like that on the right this is worth like fifty dollars and proof 65 so kind of a normal uh kennedy half dollar with accented hair even has some value attached but the real money is when you get into higher grades they scale up quickly all the way to ten thousand dollars for a proof 68 deep cameo accented hair coin there's also errors that exhibit you know have are only found on the accented hair like this double die obverse coin and you can see it in the liberty all the letterings doubled clear shelving in the e or separation same in the top serif of the r and in that loop and this is a hundred dollars in proof 65 so not a huge jump but again like a proof 68 cameo 1500 dollars so a lot of extra um you know change there um there's also a quadruple die reverse on the accented hair um that's worth 175 to 500 not quite as much money but you can see it clearly in the stars on the reverse kind of the bottom two uh or maybe like the it's not quite in the bottom but it's like the two lower ones um the points of the star um there's there is that quadrupling and it might more present like doubling or something but it's clearly there uh you can also see a little bit uh uh no i don't i i wonder if that um also carries over it looks like there's a little bit of separation in the top of the l and the the d i actually i do think that that's the case um and then there's also 1968 s we jump ahead a little bit you can see the doubling clearly in the bottoms of the i and the n and then also clear separation in the s in the outcropping and the s and then a little bit in the t's but this one's not super valuable 60 bucks for a proof 65 and 125 for proof 68 but still good to be on the lookout for there's also one to look for on the reverse of the coin a double die reverse and you can see it a little bit in the tips of the lower parts of the letters here it's not super significant in terms of the separation but it's definitely there and good to look for this one's about 50 bucks and proof 63 100 and proof 65 and then 150 in proof 67 then we get to the inverted mint mark the middle one is a normal mint mark and the side two are the errors and this one i think is more clear to explain because it basically is flipped upside down where the cut short serif that should be kind of at the top and is a little more flat is going to be on the bottom and then it's like a top heavy mint mark and this one is worth a hundred dollars in proof 63 but 250 and 400 and proof 65 and 67 respectively so definitely a good coin then we get to the 1970 s proof half dollar and the way to look for it is in the in god we trust like normal there's going to be a bit of a split in the s in the tops of the t's serifs and the tops of the u's and the e and then after that you can also check out in the liberty in that t there should be a notable split in the serif in the upper right hand um you know in in basically the northeast of the t this one's a hundred dollars in proof 67 and about 325 improved 69 cameo so not bad in terms of the value there's also one where you can search for kind of all throughout the in god we trust you can see in the bottom of the eye and the end there there's significant bars in the w and the right of the t and the r and the u and you know the whole trust word um proof 67 is going to be about 150 and then we're going to wrap things up with the 1992 they started making silver 90 proofs again and this one has a double die obverse you know the trust has clear separation here a little bit of a bar in the bottom of the e but the right parts of the t the r um are all you know have that separation as well so proof 68 deep cameo is 100 bucks proof 69 deep cameo is 250 but i think that there was an auction a little while back at 2500 so i don't know how the price that pcgs listed has really shifted but that concludes there's a lot of good errors to look for and yeah i mean hope that you can find one and add to the population reports on a lot of these thanks for watching the video i'd encourage you to like comment and subscribe for more content and get in
