hello everybody how's it going christian from treasure town here and today we're going to be unboxing a bunch of coins from pcgs i submitted 26 coins about a month and a half ago at this point and sent them off to pcgs just got them back in the mail so we're going to be making this a two-part video just because it's more than 20 coins in a batch so i want to give enough time to talk through each of the coins that i'm going to do it i'm going to go through i haven't looked at the grades yet but there's a wide variety of stuff that's you know not uncirculated and errors and varieties there are some coins that are like uncirculated kind of one-off coins and then the bulk of it is going to be morgan dollars and peace dollars and some really neat toning on some of the peace dollars but anyways we'll open it up i'll separate them into two groups of 13 and this video will be the first one and then we'll save the other ones for later but let's see how we did there's some potential for some high variance in terms of potentially a decent outcome or a really good outcome depending obviously on the numbers that we get on the slabs and here are the 26 coins so i'm gonna open this up i'll leave this one for later and i assume that there's gonna be in in here is gonna be the peace dollars which will be cool that'll be on the next video the part two so subscribe for that as well as kind of the last ones from this batch um and then the rest you know the the start will be kind of a smattering of interesting individual coins and then we should be able to get into a good amount of morgan dollars so hoping for the best and we'll get started and it's time to find out how we did so this first coin is going to be a 1919 large scent and i'd gotten it in a grab bag from chris tisdale and i'll bring it the other way around and he had said that he thinks it's a mint state 63 coin midstay 63 brown at least so i'm hoping for a little bit of upside but i'm actually not too good at grading brown you know brown pennies and you can see a little bit of fingerprinting but it's also pretty nice maybe a few hits i always try to give a prediction i'm probably just going to go with mint state 63 though i think it could be a 64 but again i don't have a ton of experience and i think the fingerprinting might hold it back and it's a 63 brown so very fun it proves that chris was not lying and it probably was not worth grading but i said it would be kind of a neat experiment for me to spend the you know 20 bucks or so on the grating and see how it went probably shouldn't but it'll also be easy to sell or put it in a grab bag at a fair value or something like that so that's our start our next coin is going to be a variety it's a 1972 double die obverse coin and i'm hoping that it will have been attributed because we paid extra 18 or something like that to get it attributed and where it's going to be the doubling i think you can see it in the in god and in the liberty it's a minor i think we went for the fs103 but this was um you know this was being submitted on behalf of a good friend of mine so it was more the idea of commemorating his cornwall hunting fines that were more uh significant as opposed to doing it for a value perspective that's what i did when i had mine as well i would guess that this is like i don't even know maybe au 55 or something um tough to grade these sorts of pennies it's going to be an au 58 and it did get the attribution so that's awesome if it didn't you know we'd have a forty dollar plastic surrounding a you know relatively you know not a coin that's not worth forty dollars but this is a great way to commemorate uh his first or one of his first error finds um yeah double die there's a ton i have a video on it and i'm probably going to do another one about the 1972 penny after that we've got a commemorative half dollar this one i got in a collection and it was really uh challenging to see i did actually dip it pretty briefly but i always try to be transparent about that sort of thing and so it's not getting a details grade so that means it's straight graded my prediction was that it was maybe a 64 or 63 range there's not a ton of hits on it so i'm going to go for 64 here but it wouldn't really be worth doing it at below 63. 65. whoa um hmm let's look a little closer there wow so i would have said there's a few kind of nicks along the coin but i guess maybe it's just a clean coin and they they decided that it was worthy of a pretty solid grade as the the 65 um puts it at a good level and i think that's actually quite a bit of value so we're certainly positive uh on this hunt so far in terms of how the outcome is definitely makes up for the money i might have burned on that 1919 and then another kind of gamble here i'm going to make a video on it coming out soon but this was from a uh this was the best coin in a lot of coins that was graded by aacgs um and i thought that it was you know i i'm not sure maybe it's a deep cameo coin certainly to me the back looks deep cameo but uh or the front looks deep cameo maybe the back is not but i'm gonna optimistically say deep cameo the only thing is there's a lot of hits to the chin on it so i would probably say that this is like a proof 66 deep cam would be my guess but i'm not super experienced with grading this oh that is a very ugly grade proof 64 cameo okay so that was flushing some money down the drain that happens sometimes when you grade and you learn from it but that's actually a pretty weak outcome um it must be all those hits to the chin well guys that's why you don't um grade or you don't want to be buying coins that are not created by a professional grading company because they'll come back like that proof 64 cam you know that was in a proof 67 holder before with no comment on the grade this one is going to be another of the this was the second of the varieties uh that was submitted i think you can see this one pretty easily it's gonna be a 1974. you can see it especially in the r and the u but really in the r um and it's going to be a double die obverse my guess on the grade here there's a fair amount of wear there i'm i'll go au 55 again but i could see it also being a 58 and a 58 double die obverse um you know definitely a fun coin and one that you can look for um i own one or two of them as well uh though this is not mine this is for the friend that found it again and now we're going to get into morgan dollars so it looks like we have about eight left and we're gonna start out with a cc morgan that i'm it's this is not a morgan dollar that i own but i thought that um you know i would offer my services to a close friend who would want to grade some stuff with me and i said sure so here we go um i was thinking i'm seeing this as like a vf35 coin that's that's where i've kind of tabbed it not lust not much luster but also a decent presentation and decent details so xf40 wow 1878 cc um so making it into the xf range which i don't i doubt that there's a huge value difference differential between the 35 and the 40. um but certainly in the xf range is a good place to be and it's not a bad looking coin at all hasn't seen a ton of wear and first year as well as carson city nevada so that's a nice coin for them to own and i don't know where in the submission if i push them back or not this one here is a cool coin but i'm seeing right here it says genuine not gradable so it's probably either damaged or cleaned i would have thought that it was you know i just had this laying around and i submitted it so this was totally my mistake let's see um there's a lot of hits on the front but i thought that the surface was kind of weird and i don't immediately see you know maybe it's scratched or something like mid state scrap bunk details scratched or damaged um or maybe it's some let's see what the grade is cleaned huh and sometimes you just miss it it's probably pretty obvious um i'm not i don't have the best eye for what a clean coin looks like uh but maybe you know for whatever reason i felt like i had decent luster i really like the back of that coin but maybe we'll be putting this in a giveaway or something like that soon because it's a nice looking coin uh that's that i i do believe that it's a nice little coin and that's one of my coins so bummer that it it came back like that um this next one uh also you know a nice reverse well uh and then on the front of the coin not a ton of hits here so uh i i would say that this my guess is like mint state 64 for this grade 1879 s and this one i own personally and we got 64. very cool this was also i'm not going to give the details away but as part of a different video that i'm making so you may see this coin resurface because it was a crossover video from an obscure company and you can figure out how that coin you know what the other holder in i'll give you a hint it was in a higher graded holder i believe though i don't think it was crazy higher than 64. so it's actually not the worst outcome here we've got some sort of an 1880s coin and i'm just looking i think that this was uh also a coin that i had tab i think that this is you know looks nice i'd say maybe 64 especially with what looks to be like a little mark right there um the back looks nice but i don't think that it's like hit free where a 65 would be but maybe hopefully i'll be wrong and another 64. so not a terrible outcome at all often 63 there's a little less value but as you get up into 64 and beyond most morgan's it can often be helpful to have it in slabs not a necessity by any means but that that range can kind of inspire confidence here is a gorgeous rainbow toner um this is belongs to the category of coins that i'm submitting on behalf of the friend i wish i owned this one but look at that luster and that that toning you know as it i love how it kind of almost forms a rainbow pattern but like a really dark crimson into reds and oranges and then navigates into you know yellow green blue really pretty over there and then on the front oh man yeah that is a nice looking coin 1882 there are a fair amount of hits so i'm going to say either 60 my guess is 64 with a potential to be upgraded to 65 for the nice toning but i would say 64 if i had to 63 okay that's probably yeah i probably should have said 63. there's just a lot of noise going on here in the surface and i think that this would command a nice premium because of the toning but um you know that that's that's a nice look at look at that whole surface wow very cool coin um very very fun uh and again would like to own it but uh happy to submit it and plus i can make a little bit of video content and it looks like i think the last three coins here are going to be i think mostly uh 1882 s type content but we'll we'll find out um so this one here is you know looks pretty good um trying to think uh where i got this coin originally from um but uh i do believe that i know i would say that this i don't know why i submitted this coin actually it looks like there's a lot of hits i would say this is a mint state 63 uh just because there's a lot of kind of scratches on the cheek and that's what it's gonna get um yeah i'm not sure that was not the best use of money but not terrible either i mean uh i'm not gonna lose money on the coin i don't think i'll probably come pretty close to breaking even on it um not the best use of my uh of my money but whatever that's okay uh here we've got a 1882 s as well um and it's in really nice shape except for that scratch right there but the you know you can see a big difference in my opinion watch them be the same grade but here there's like a lot of scattered marks on the cheek here it's really just this scratch up there so what i'm going to say a tiny bit of toning that's not going to matter i'm going to say this is a mistake 64 though i do think that this would get a little bit better than the last coin okay 63 as well it's probably for that for that large scratch and this is how i learned so two slight mistakes but you know i'll i'll learn for it in the long term and hopefully be able to make that money back as i can you know navigate the situations better in the future this i think this is one of the coins that has potential to be very rare and we also submitted uh three more that will now be in the next video that are 1884 uh s and two 1885 s so this is 1884 s and this is not going to get mint state um i would say that you know if it was a mint state coin um this would be worth thousands of dollars this is a coin where it's pretty rare to have uh higher grades found for these so um but i i think i believe that this is definitely better than xf as an au coin i would probably tab at au 53 with potential upside for 55 but my personal grade was 53 um and this was really uh you know a good submission for my friend and then we'll see whoa awesome sweet so again i don't capture any of the upside here but i'm still happy you know you always want to do well when you say to a friend you know this would be a decent coin to submit i'm happy to do it for you um you want it to come back in a good grade and this is probably i don't even know what the market is on these um outside like specific numbers i think that this is like minimum like four or five six hundred bucks and at the time they didn't even really know that this was a you know any better than normal morgan so this is a really good outcome and i'm super happy about that so as a recap here and then the next video which will probably come out my guess is in like two three weeks uh probably like three weeks we've got um some cool coins here the 55 this mint stay 63 is just really pretty and a nice cc morgan dollar there we had a few misses from my end with the morgans where i'm still as you can tell in the in the figuring things out phase but um certainly at least we didn't get all you know 63 is like the this is just a basic morgan dollar um so good to get a little bit beyond that that's a bummer um i should have seen if you know if you can spot the cleaning please show me where maybe it's just the the surfaces are a little bit too but i i missed it on uh obviously because i wouldn't have submitted it if i was cleaned and these two coming back at 63. one of them is for an experiment but the other i should have caught over here cool to see just a double die obverse this is a big miss this is a good hit much beyond what i expected and at least with that one i own it kind of a mistake but also part of a different video and then a nice double die here uh fun to show a variety of coins off to you today and i'll see you for part two uh in not too long thanks for watching
