all right you guys quick little video i'm just going to show you how to take your prone collar on and off it's really really basic but i have had a few clients lately that have called me after they've got this and said oh the collar i got the one you said but it's too small for my dog only to find out they were trying to slide it over the dog's head so this comes apart i just want to make sure that you know how to do that you know how to fit it correctly so that you can have the most success with your dog this is what it looks like this is the three millimeter and this one right here is the 2.25 you can see that the gauges are different the prongs the three millimeter is going to be bigger obviously than the 2.25 this one is designed for dogs that are 30 pounds in under this one is for 30 pounds and up so to take this on and off it's called a pinch collar you you literally pinch these two prongs together and pull it off but you can see right here i don't have anything to pinch so what i do is this is i'm right-handed i use my left thumb to push up on one of those little levers on one of those little prongs and now i've got something to pinch so then i pinch and i pop it off and now when i go to put it back in if you try and slide it it's going to get stuck so you've got to pinch these two pieces these have to be pinched together and they pop right in those little holes so you pinch it and slide it in just like that if this is too big for your dog and you need to take a link out all you do is just like i said [Music] push up so now you've got something to grab onto and i'm going to take a link out and now i've got a smaller collar so then i pinch and put it right back into the holes that's it pretty simple this right here is your catch ring the one that swivels and that's flat that's where your leash goes i'm going to show you how to do this on a dog so now that it's on my dog i'm going to show you how to take it off and then i'm going to show you how to put it right back on so you can see this is where her ear is look how high i have it it goes all the way high under their jaw where's your little face there's your eyeball and you can see i can just stick a couple fingers under it that's how snug i want it i do not want this loose so when i go to take it off again there's nothing for me to grab i've got to get push right here so now i've got something to grab onto and that's it you just pop it apart so when i put this on my dog i always attach my leash first that way i know this chain is not twisted it's very easy for this to twist and then you're not going to get the effectiveness out of the collar so i always make sure my chain and my leash are set up and then i take and put it at the top of their neck and come underneath and clip it in the front so now my leash is already set at the top you don't have to do it that way it's just easier for me because i don't like twisting this around on my dog especially if you've got a long-haired dog that can be difficult if this your collar starts to slide down because sometimes your dogs are in those in between stages where if you take one out it's going to be too tight all you do is grab onto that collar with your fingers grab their scruff and just shimmy their scruff down just pull it up that's much easier than just trying to grab the collar and pull the collar up itself if you can grab onto their skin and help pull it up and that is how you take that collar on and off so again here is my thumb i'm gonna push up now i've got something to grab onto and i just pop it off as simple as that rosie thank you for being my demo dog all right you guys that's it if this video was helpful for you give it a thumbs up and if you're not already subscribed to the channel hit that subscribe button if you don't follow my social media i'm a dog rescue first so this information it's imperative i get it to you because i want you to keep your dog there are no behaviors that are too far gone that they can't be brought back so if you're struggling and you can't find what you're looking for drop me a comment let me know and i will help you through it remember lastly if you want a better dog you gotta be a better you i'll see you in the next video
