Print Your Own T-Shirts with Canva!

[Music] oh my t-shirt great thank you [Music] thanks hey what's up guys in this video I'm going to show you step by step how I designed and printed what's inside that box hey what's up everyone Ronny here your go to canva Guru today we are going to design t-shirts with canva and I have this box right here it's not open you can see it's clearly sealed so not cheating here I haven't seen what's inside the Box we will unbox these t-shirts there are two T-shirts inside that box at the end of the tutorial so if you want to see what they look like if you want to see the quality and how they turned out I want to see stick around until the end but for now I'm going to show you every single step I use in order to design and print these t-shirts so starting with the first step choosing the right document type for your T-shirt so the way I started this project from the canva homepage was very simple I just hovered over the print product icon right here in the main header I would say so if you click here you will see all sorts of available print product and by all means this will be different from country to Country so here in Spain we have I would say quite a bit of choice in terms of printing it might be that in your country there's no options available that is not our fault so the document I decided to start with was this one right here that says t-shirt so you can also search for other things like for example you have invitation you have folders envelopes toad bags Circle stickers a bunch of different things and you can filter these by category I believe yeah marketing then you have your gifts you have your stationer you have your clothing and in the past I have designed a canva hoodie and I have designed a couple of t-shirts all of them turned out to be of great quality so today we are designing t-shirt so I'm going to choose this document right here the way I started my design was pretty unconventional I rarely start designing on canvi like this but the minute or the second I opened my t-shirt document I noticed this design right here this template and I clicked on it and it created this very nice typography quote enjoy every moment so my first I would say reflex was to double click on that to try to edit the text but I realized it was not an editable text it was a simple graphic so an image in the library so I kind of gave up on that idea but what I noticed right here is the name of that element it's it says green typographic quote t-shirt so I decided to search for more of these typographic quotes all right and that's how I started so I went back to the elements Tab and I typed typographic quote you see it's still here in my recent searches so typographic quotes you'll get a bunch of results but if you filter by graphics and click on see all this is where it starts to get interesting because I see here A bunch of interesting in quotes that I could potentially use for my t-shirt I wanted an empowering I wanted a kind of positive vibe kind of quote but also was looking for an attractive typography attractive hand lettering kind of graphic so yeah from here I simply started to scroll and read all of these quotes and when I found one that I liked let me simply delete this for now and get back to my blank page when I found one that I like like this one do the right thing I would click on the three little dots right here and simply see more like this okay so see more like this and this leads me to another batch of typographic quotes in the same style so this style was a more colorful style so yeah I like that you can search similar items in the canva library so yeah this is actually how I started and because I like you guys and also because I want to make your lives easier I'm going to share with you a bunch of different keywords you could use to find similar hand lettering quotes or graphic elements that are similar to these ones right here because I did a bit of research and I found that these keywords will work very well the first one is hand lettering inscription okay if you search for that filter by graphic so hand lettering inscription will give you these kinds of results as well so a bunch of interesting quotes here as well another keyword you could search for in order to find things like that is motivational quote so motivational quotes again I'm going to filter by Graphics gives you this for example okay so you have more stuff more choices and some pretty cool stuff here as well another one that worked well for me was simply typography so typography will give you some more of these some of them that I haven't seen before like this one right here the spicy right here girl power and joy so a bunch of different cool stuff here really and I'm not going to try everything single keyword but other ones that you could try are positive quotes lettering calligraphy or even motivational hand lettering quotes all of these will give you I would say similar results but some slightly different outcomes so pretty much giving you more options so that is if you are searching from inside the canva editor and that is if you are searching for individual elements but what I also would try to do if I were you in order to find more of these quotes for potential t-shirtt or other kind of prints is to search for contributors so the contributors are the people who create the canva elements in the library so how would you proceed for that well if you find one that you like for me for example let's say I like this one right here be strong I would click on the three little dots and this will give me a name view more by bar syn okay if I click here I can view more I would always filter by graphics and I will always always also filter by one of these keyword we just explor earlier for example here typography so now I am searching only the graphics from this contributor called barend that contain the tag typography in them and so now I have a pretty curated list of typography artwork right here that I can easily explore so something else you should see here is that this at barend is actually searchable so if you copy this okay and search for that in the canva elements okay so instead of typography I could search for at barin I will land on that creators profile now I'm going to show you something else let me get out of full screen right here if you come back to canva.com and you add a slash bar and paste that name so baring without the at you will land on their canva creator profile or canva cont distributor profile okay I'm going to go back to full screen right here so you see what I did I simply copied their name pasted that after canva.com their name and now I'm landing on their profile from which I can follow them okay to see more of their stuff and from here it's exactly the same thing make sure you scroll down and under all items you are going to go to graphics and here again type your keyword typography for example and now I have all of their typography work graphic work right here from their profile so I can start them to keep them in my start folder or I can start using them in my design so that is what I wanted to show you now very quickly and then we'll start designing our t-shirts let me show you four or five of these canva contributors that I found created nice collections of motivational quotes So This is the first one Barn another one would be this one buuk icon portfolio so bu icon portfolio has a bunch of cool hand lettering as well some of them with colors and I like their meaning I like the type of words that he or she has been using here for example Obrigado which is thank you in Portuguese forgive keep up the good work so some positive quotes but also some nice hand letters so that is another one it's called bue icon portfolio another one would be Lana shart okay okay lart don't forget to filter by Graphics not photos Graphics typography to filter only the typography work so this one is called Lana shmart okay and again some cool stuff like more graffiti style also colors some nice hand lettering so some cool stuff here as well and then one last one would be vitamin RGB okay filter Graphics typography and you'll find some cool stuff here as well so very colorful very vibrant type of hand lettering so really like that to make today count I could see myself making a t-shirt with this so yeah some really cool ideas now back to my t-shirt design okay so let me show you the actual quote that I chose for my t-shirt it's won by Duke icon portfolio and it's called you've got this typography I think you've got this typography there you go let me see if I can find it back right here you got this yes it was this one right here so that was the graphic I used for my first t-shirt let me show you the actual file in which I designed my t-shirt it's right here so you see you've got this in the black color the cool thing about this graphic is that you can actually change its color to any color you like so yeah I decided to keep it in Black all right the next next step for me was to add a little bit of a personal touch I didn't want to create and print a t-shirt solely based on an element I found in the canva library so I wanted to make this a little bit more on brand so the way I did this I used one of our custom emojis okay so I have this folder right here with our Ry emojis and I inserted this little heart that we design I slightly rotated it and I posted it on the top of the eye right here like it was the dot of the eye if I scroll down to this page right here page number two is actually the page that I decided to put on the actual t-shirt so I think it looks great and now let me show you a way you can actually prev visualize your T-shirt so once you got there making sure you are in a canva t-shirt or print t-shirt document type you can do that by clicking on this button right here that says print with canva so if I click here I see a preview of my t-shirt all right you've got this on a black T-shirt black font so that doesn't work that well so what I will do is to first of all change the style I want a man's T-shirt okay so you have a bunch of different colors black red royal blue gray Navy charcoal and white I think this would work best on a white T-shirt so selecting white right here select the page Pages you want to print so right now I have my front which is page one and my back which is page two I only want to print the front size first because of the price if you print on both sides it will cost you here in Spain 29 now if I click none here you see the price is dropping to €24 so it's cheaper to print on only one side obviously so I only want the front side for this t-shirt manstyle white T-shirt shirt and then size okay I was not quite sure if I was a medium or a large okay so depending on the country last time I bought a t-shirt with canva was when I was in Australia I ordered a large and it turned out very large so this time I think I ordered a medium but I created a second t-shirt which I'm going to show you in a second but I want to go all the way to the end of the process first and the other one I chose the other side so I think I ordered this one in large and then the other one in medium something like that we discover when I open the box still not open okay once you have your size you can just click on continue this will bring you to this page right here let's get ready to print so you can add that to your cart Okay add to cart there you go now you have your cart you can either go back to your design do some more stuff and add to your cart or you can go and check out and pay for this t-shirt so what I did you see I have one item in my cart I went back to the design I'm going to show you the second design right now which is this one right here so I wanted a t-shirt that says peace please because during these times there is so much violence going on in the world that it really makes me sad let's not become political here but war in Ukraine war in Israel Palestine all of this makes me sad truly makes me worried about where this world is going so peace please I wanted the peace sign okay so I found this element by searching under element let's see let's search from the actual root folder here I believe I did P P sign hand gesture I think that's what I put P sign hand yes this one right here and so what I did then I just changed the colors for our custom pink and this green right here that contrasted very nicely and then I just created these two words peace please in a font called hibernate 2 and I slightly use the curve text to make them look cool you see it's like actually three parts four parts actually five parts wow amazing to make this kind of like wavy so I adjusted each letter individually so this was my second t-shirt design which I also sent to print also on only one side okay so like so front was page three back none style men and the color was black exactly and the size was medium the first one was a large so I continued added that to my cart add to cart yes that's exactly what I did so now I had these two T-shirts for a grand total of 48 I went ahead and checked out I paid with my credit card and then the process was pretty much done so that was payment it was pretty straightforward with a credit card I don't think you can pay with PayPal yet but credit card worked fine for me and this might depend also country to country and then I waited for exactly one business week I ordered the t-shirts on March the 6th and today is March 13 so exactly one week after and what I liked is that canva immediately sent me an email confirming telling me that if I wanted to change my order I still had some time to do so so if you screw up or something is wrong you can still change that which is pretty cool and then they gave me a tracking number grand total I got five different emails from canva in indicating every single step of the process where my product was if it was already being printed if it was already being shipped and then even an email saying the product was coming and then it arrived the product has been delivered so that was kind of like the entire workflow all right so let's unbox this box right here I like that canva actually uses eco-friendly material okay so I'm going to cut here here and there's only one cut necessary I think so I can keep that cutter there you go all right so first thing I see here one of a kind just like you cana all right so this is the first one the you've got this one and it's pretty cool and I think this is the large one yes let me double check yeah this is the large okay you've got this the color is actually very accurate I like that so I can show here on the secondary camera but that's the first one that you've got this and then the second one this one right here this one looks a bit smaller looks great as well in my opinion peace please the color is quite accurate as well the green is not as shiny as I expected but I mean it looks cool I like the framing as well of these t-shirt so now the last thing I'm going to do for this tutorial is to go put them on and come back so there you go guys this is the first one the you've got this one I'm going to stand up so you can see how big it is this is the large one and yeah I think it fits me correctly but it's still a bit long so now how about we try the medium one there you go the medium one fits me well as well it is considerably less Long than the other one so yeah I'm glad I actually chose one of each so I could definitely figure out my size I think next time I will continue going with the Large Size because I think this one is the right fit but I am a bit afraid that it might shrink if I wash it a
